The new ligand 4-(isopropylbenzaldehyde)imidazo[4,5-f ][1,10]phenanthroline (ippip) and its complexes [Ru(phen)2(ippip)]2+(1),[Co(phen)2(ippip)]3+(2),[Ru(bpy)2(ippip)]2+(3),[Co(bpy)2(ippip)]3+(4)(bpy=2,2-bipyridine) and (phen=1,10-phenanthroline) were synthesized and characterized by ES+-MS, 1H and 13C NMR. The DNA binding properties of the four complexes were investigated by different spectrophotometric methods and viscosity measurements. The results suggest that complexes bind to calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) through intercalation. When irradiated at 365 nm, the complexes promote the photocleavage of pBR322 DNA, and complex 1 cleaves DNA more effectively than 2, 3, 4 complexes under comparable experimental conditions. Furthermore, photocleavage studies reveal that singlet oxygen (1O2) plays a significant role in the photocleavage.  相似文献

A new ligand FIPB?=?5-(1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthrolin-2-yl)furan-2-yl-2-boronic acid, having three cobalt(III) polypyridyl complexes [Co(phen)2(FIPB)]3+(1) {FIPB?=?5-(1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthrolin-2-yl)furan-2-yl-2-boronic acid}, (phen?=?1,10-Phenanthroline), [Co(bpy)2(FIPB)]3+(2) (bpy?=?2,2’bipyridyl), [Co(dmb)2(FIPB)]3+(3) (dmb?=?4, 4′-dimethyl 2, 2′-bipyridine) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, ES-MS,1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, UV-Vis and FTIR. Their DNA binding behavior has been explored by various spectroscopic titrations and viscosity measurements, which indicated that all the complexes bind to calf thymus DNA by means of intercalation with different binding strengths. The binding properties of these all three complexes towards calf-thymus DNA (CT-DNA) have been investigated by UV-visible, emission spectroscopy and viscosity measurements. The experimental results suggested that three Co(III) complexes can intercalate into DNA base pairs, but with different binding affinities. Photo induced DNA cleavage studies have been performed and results indicate that three complexes efficiently cleave the pBR322-DNA in different forms. The three synthesized compounds were tested for antimicrobial activity by using Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis organisms, these results indicated that complex 1 was more activity compared to other two complexes against both tested microbial strains. The in vitro cytotoxicity of these complexes was evaluatedby MTT assay, and complex 1 shows higher cytotoxicity than complex 2 and 3 on HeLa cells.

Mixed-ligand Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes, [Cu(dmit)(bpy)]2 (I), [Ni(dmit)(phen)2] (II) and [Ni(dmit)(phen)2]·CH2Cl2 (III) (dmit=1.3-dithiole-2-thione-4.5-dithiolate, phen=1.10-phenantroline, bpy=2.2′-bipyridine) have been prepared by ligand exchange between phen or bpy and (Bu4N)2[M(dmit)2] (M=Ni, Cu) and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, single-crystal X-ray analysis and by investigation of magnetic and resonance properties. In complex I, the monomeric units form dimers in a head-to-tail arrangement by weak coordination bonds between copper and dithiolate sulfur atoms and π–π interactions between dmit and bpy from neighboring monomers. Dimers in I are further extended into chains by weak Cu–S(thione) contacts. In crystal packing of complex II and III, there exists a weak π–π interaction between two parallel phen molecules of the adjacent complexes. As a consequence, the magnetic and resonance characteristics of copper complex may be described in approximation of exchange-coupled pairs of Cu2+ ions with ion spin S=1/2. The nickel complexes are described by isotropic exchange model for single-site spin S=1.  相似文献

Three Ruthenium(II) polypyridine complexes, [Ru(phen)2(mipc)]2+(1), [Ru(bpy)2(mipc)]2+ (2) and [Ru(dmb)2(mipc)]2+(3) [mipc?=?2-(6-methyl-3-(1H-imidazo[4, 5-f][1,10]-phenanthroline-2-yl)-4H-chromene-4-one, phen?=?1,10-phenanthroline,bpy?=?2, 2′bipyridine,dmb?=?4, 4′-dimethyl-2, 2′-bipyridine] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV–Vis, 1H& 13C NMR and mass spectra. The DNA-binding properties of the Ruthenium(II) complexes were investigated by spectrophotometric methods, viscosity measurements and light switch studies. These three complexes have been focused on photo activated cleavage studies with pBR-322 and antimicrobial studies. Experimental results indicate that the three complexes intercalate into DNA base pairs and follows the order of 1?>?2?>?3 respectively. Molecular docking studies also support the DNA interactions with complexes through hydrogen bonding and vander Waal’s interactions. Cytotoxicity studies with Hela cell lines has been revealing about anti tumor activity of these complexes.  相似文献

Parameters of the local coordination of Co2+ and Ni2+ cations in polymer matrices are determined by XAFS spectroscopy at the K edges of the corresponding elements. Ion-exchange complexes of Ni2+ and polymethacrylate, low-molecular acrylamide complexes [M(CH2=CHC(O)NH2)6](NO3)2 (M = Co or Ni), and products of their thermal polymerization are investigated. The final results are in agreement with the octahedral coordination of M atoms (average distances, 2.10–2.11 (Co-O) and 2.05–2.06 Å (Ni-O).  相似文献

Novel Supramolecular fluorescence receptor derived from calix-system i.e. calix[4]resorcinarene bearing dansylchloride as fluorophore was designed and synthesized. The compound was purified by column chromatography and characterized by elemental analysis, NMR and Mass spectroscopy. Tetradansylated calix[4] resorcinarene (TDCR) shows a boat conformation with C2v symmetry. The complexation behaviour of metal cations [Ag(I), Cd(II), Co(II), Fe(III), Hg(II), Cu(II), Pb(II), Zn(II), U(VI) (1?×?10-4?M)] with tetra dansylated calix[4]resorcinarene (1?×?10-6?M) was studied by spectophotometry and spectrofluorometry. Red shift in the absorption spectra led us to conclude that there is strong complexation Fe(III), Co(II) and Cu(II) with TDCR. These metal cations also produce quenching with red shifts in the emission spectra. The maximum quenching in emission intensity was observed in the case of Fe(III) and its binding constant was also found to be significantly higher than that of Co(II) and Cu(II). Quantum yield of metal complexes of Fe(III) was found to be lower in comparison with Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes. Stern Volmer analysis indicates that the mechanism of fluorescence quenching is either purely dynamic, or purely static.  相似文献

New cationic Fe(III),Co(II) and Ni(II) mixed ligand complexes containing both triphenylphosphine and isatin ligands were prepared and characterized using conventional physical and chemical methods of analysis

(I.R., UV-Vis., and 1H NMR). Microanalytical data of the investigated complexes are consistent with the formulations. [Fe(Isa)2 {P(Ph)3}2]3+, [Co(Isa)2 {P(Ph)3}2]2+ and [Ni(Isa)2 {P(Ph)3}2]2+, (Where Isa = Isatin and P(Ph)3 = Triphenylphosphine).

The prepared complexes are soluble in polar solvents and could be of potential use in bio-inorganic applications.  相似文献

Three ruthenium(II) polypyridyl complexes, [Ru(phen)2(mip)](ClO4)2 (1) (phen =1,10-Phenanthroline), [Ru(bpy)2(mip)](ClO4)2 (2) (bpy = 2,2’bipyridyl) and [Ru(dmb)2(mip)](ClO4)2 (3) (dmb = 4, 4′-dimethyl 2, 2′-bipyridine), were synthesized with an intercalative ligand mip (2-morpholino-1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1, 10]phenanthroline) and characterized by 1H, 13C–NMR, IR, UV-vis, mass spectra and elemental analysis. pH effect, ion selectivity (cations, anions) and solvent sensitivity of complexes were studied. The interaction of these complexes with DNA was performed using absorption, emission spectroscopy and viscosity measurements. The experimental results indicated that the two complexes interacted with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) by intercalative mode. BSA (Bovine Serum Albumin) protein binding of these complexes was studied by UV-visible and fluorescence techniques. The binding capacity of these complexes was explained theoretically by molecular docking method.  相似文献

The preparation and oxygen sensing properties of optical materials based on two trinuclear starburst ruthenium(II) complexes: [Ru3(bpy)6(TMMB)]6+ (1) and [Ru3(phen)6(TMMB)]6+ (2) (bpy=2,2′-bpyridine, phen=1,10-phenathroline, TMMB=1,3,5-tris[2-(2′-pyridyl)benzimidazoyl]methylbenzene) assembled in two mesoporous silicate (MS) are described in this paper. The luminescence of Ru complexes/silicate assemble materials can be quenched by molecular oxygen with good sensitivity (I0/I1>5 for 2/MS and I0/I1>3 for 1/MS), indicating that trinuclear starburst Ru(II) complexes/MS systems are sensitive to oxygen molecules.  相似文献

Using our new spectrometer for time-differential Mössbauer emission spectroscopy we reinvestigated the high-spin→low-spin relaxation following the57Co(EC)57Fe process in [57Co/Co(phen)3](ClO4)2 (phen=1,10-phenanthroline). In contrast to former investigations we found a temperature dependent initial population less than 1 for the metastable high-spin states. The results and the data evaluation method are presented.  相似文献

Two novel complexes of Sm(III) and Dy(III) with mixed oxydiacetate (ODA) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands were synthesized and their structure and luminescence properties were characterized. The complexes of [Ln(ODA)(phen)·4H2O]Cl·5H2O [Ln=Sm and Dy] crystallize in the monoclinic space group P21/n with Sm: a=12.3401(14) Å, b=16.821(2), c=12.6847(11) Å, β=107.939(10)°, V=2505.0(5) Å3, Z=4 and ρ=1.841 mg/m3, and with Dy: a=12.289(7) Å, b=16.805(6) Å, c=12.705(4) Å, β=108.144(18)°, V=2493.4(19) Å3, Z=4 and ρ=1.786 mg/m3. The complexes of [Sm(ODA)(phen)·4H2O]+ and [Dy(ODA)(phen)·4H2O]+ excited by UV light produce orange red and lightly white emissions, respectively, via the nonradiative energy transfer from phen to the metals. The quantum yield of the sensitized luminescence of [Dy(ODA)(phen)·4H2O]+ (Q=19%) is much greater than that of [Sm(ODA)(phen)·4H2O]+ (Q=1.4%). The luminescence decay times of the complexes were in a few microsecond range and independent of temperature.  相似文献

Electronic structures of binuclear ruthenium complexes [Ru2(terpy)2(tppz)]4+ ( 1A ) and [Ru2Cl2(L)2(tppz)]2+ {L = bpy ( 2A ), phen ( 3A ), and dpphen ( 4A )} were studied by density functional theory calculations. Abbreviations of the ligands (Ls) are bpy = 2,2′‐bipyridine, phen = 1,10‐phenanthroline, dpphen = 4,7‐diphenyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline, terpy = 2,2′:6′,2″‐terpyridine, and tppz = tetrakis(2‐pyridyl)pyrazine. Their mononuclear reference complexes [Ru(terpy)2]2+ ( 1B ) and [RuClL(terpy)]+ {L = bpy ( 2B ), phen ( 3B ), and dpphen ( 4B )} were also examined. Geometries of these mononuclear and binuclear Ru(II) complexes were fully optimized. Their geometric parameters are in good agreement with the experimental data. The binuclear complexes were characterized by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, UV–Vis spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammograms. Hexafluorophosphate salts of binuclear ruthenium complexes of 3A and 4A were newly prepared. The crystal structure of binuclear complex 1A (PF6)4 was also determined. Orbital interactions were analyzed to characterize the metal‐to‐ligand charge‐transfer (MLCT) states in these complexes. The Cl? ligand works to raise the orbital energy of the metal lone pair, which leads to the low MLCT state. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The novel ligand (dmbip) 2-(4-N, N-dimethylbenzenamine)1H-imidazo[4, 5-f][1, 10]phenanthroline and its complexes [Ru(phen)2dmbip]2+ (1), [Ru(bpy)2dmbip]2+ (2), [Co(phen)2dmbip]3+ (3) and [Co(bpy)2dmbip]3+ (4) [where phen?=?1, 10-phenanthroline, bpy?=?2, 2-bipyridine], have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass spectra. The DNA binding properties of the complexes were investigated by absorption, emission, quenching studies, light switch “on and off”, salt dependent, sensor (cation and anion) studies, viscosity measurements, cyclic voltammetry, molecular modeling and docking studies. The four complexes were screened for Photo cleavage of pBR322 DNA, antimicrobial activity and cytotoxicity. The experimental results indicate that the four complexes can intercalate into DNA base pairs. The DNA-binding affinities of these complexes follow the order [Ru(phen)2dmbip]2+ > [Co(phen)2dmbip]3+ > [Ru(bpy)2dmbip]2+ > [Co(bpy)2dmbip]3+.  相似文献

Double oxidation of [CoIII(3,5-DTBCat)(3,5-DTBSQ)(bpy)] (1,ls-Co(III)) by AgBF4 and of [CoII(3,5-DTBSQ)2(bpy)] (1,hs-Co(II)) by a mixture of HClO4/H2O2 yielded [CoIII(3,5-DTBSQ) (bpy)2]X2, where X=BF4 (4) and ClO4 (5), respectively. The mechanism for the double-oxidation process that leads to a loss of one of the quinone ligands and in some cases to a redistribution of the electronic charge is discussed here.  相似文献

A series of novel bivalent metal complexes M(L1)2 and M(L2)2 where M = Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and L1 = 2-((benzo [d] thiazol-6-ylimino)methyl)-4-bromophenol [BTEMBP], L2 = 1-((benzo [d] thiazol-6-ylimino)methyl) naphthalen-2-ol [BTEMNAPP] were synthesized. All the compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, SEM, Mass, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, UV–Vis, IR, ESR, spectral data and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Based on the analytical and spectral data four-coordinated square planar geometry is assigned to all the complexes. DNA binding properties of these complexes have been investigated by electronic absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence and viscosity measurements. It is observed that these binary complexes strongly bind to calf thymus DNA by an intercalation mode. DNA cleavage efficacy of these complexes was tested in presence of H2O2 and UV light by gel electrophoresis and found that all the complexes showed better nuclease activity. Finally the compounds were screened for antibacterial activity against few pathogens and found that the complexes have potent biocidal activity than their free ligands.  相似文献

EPR studies have been carried out in Mn2+-doped single crystals of [M(H2O)6]SnF6 (M  Zn, Co) at different temperatures using X-band microwave frequency. Mn2+ has been found to substitute for Zn2+ or Co2+ exhibiting a unique magnetic complex with z-axis directed long the c-axis of the crystals. Observation of resolved Mn2+ spectrum in [Co(H2O)6]SnF6 and broadening of the resonance lines on cooling the crystals have been explained on the basis of host spin-lattice relaxation narrowing. The T1 of Co2+ has been estimated to be ≈ 1.8 × 10−12 s at 293 K.  相似文献

Intra- and intermolecular exchange and dipole-dipole interactions in two supramolecular compounds [Cu2(acac)2(phen)2(bpe)](CIO4)2·(bpe)·CH3CN·H2O (I) and [Cu2(acac)2(phen)2(bpp)]× (CIO4)2·6H2O (II), which are built up of binuclear fragments through π-π stacking interactions, are investigated. The electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra of the polycrystalline samples of I and II were measured in the X-band in the temperature range of 300–4.2 K, and in the Q-band atT=300 and 4.2 K. The EPR spectra were interpreted as being due to weakly interacting dimer fragments. Triplet and singlet states of dimer fragments arise from a larger interactionJS 1 S 2 between two nearest copper complexes of two neighboring binuclear fragments. The theoretical analysis of the EPR spectrum of the polycrystalline sample for weakly interacting triplet states is carried out. The influence of the weak interaction between triplet states with value ofJ′ is considered in the model of the frequency exchange. A special attention is focused on the presence of the additional signal due to the exchange merging in some orientations where theJ′ value exceeds the fine structure parameters of the spectrum. The analysis of the conditions for the detection of the additional signal and of the influence of this signal on the form of the EPR spectrum allows us to estimate the value of the exchange interactionJ′=o.025±0.005 cm?1 for compounds I and II and anisotropic part of exchange interaction between two nearest copper complexes asJ zz =?0.02 cm?1,J xx.yy =0.01 cm?1 for compound I.  相似文献

Four heteronuclear Zn-Ln coordination complexes, [Nd2Zn2(p-toluylate)10(phen)2] (1), [Ln2Zn2(p-toluylate)10(phen)2]·2(HAc)1/2 (Ln=Tb 2, Ho 3) and [PrZn2(p-toluylate)5(Ac)2(phen)2] (4) (phen=1, 10-phenanthroline), are synthesized by the hydrothermal method and their structures are measured by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The IR and UV-vis-NIR absorption spectra and the emission spectra in the visible and near-infrared (NIR) regions of the four complexes are determined at room temperature. In the NIR region (or in the visible region), the complexes show the characteristic emission bands of Ln3+ ions, which may be attributed to sensitization from the ligands (the ligand directly-coordinated to Ln3+ ions and d-block) to Ln3+ ions after forming the Zn-Ln complexes. It is reported for the first time in this paper that the Zn-Pr complex 4 can exhibit the broad emission band in the NIR region. In addition, the shift, split or broadness of the ff emission bands in the NIR region of complexes 1, 3 and 4 are discussed.  相似文献

Novel bioactive complexes of Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) metal ions with Schiff base ligand derived from histidine and 1,3-indandione were synthesized and thoroughly characterized by various analytical and spectral techniques. The biological investigations were carried out to examine the efficiency of the binding interaction of all the complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA). The binding properties were studied and evaluated quantitatively by Kb and Ksq values using UV-visible, fluorescence spectroscopy and voltammetric techniques. The experimental results revealed that the mode of binding of all the complexes with CT-DNA is via intercalation. It is further verified by viscosity measurements and thermal denaturation experiments. From the results of the cleavage study with pUC19 DNA it is inferred that all the complexes possess excellent cleaving ability. The present investigation proved that the binding interaction of all the complexes are significantly strong and the order of binding strength of the complexes is [Ni(L)2] (Kb = 3.11 × 106 M?1) > [Co(L)2] (Kb = 2.89 × 106 M?1) > [Cu(L)2] (Kb = 2.64 × 106 M?1) > [Zn(L)2] (Kb = 2.41 × 105 M?1). The complexes were also screened for antibacterial and anticandidal activity. The in vitro cytotoxicity of the ligand and complexes on the NIH/3 T3 mouse fibroblast cell lines were examined using CellTiter-Blue® (CTB) Cell viability assay, which unveiled that all the complexes exhibit more potent activities against NIH/3 T3 cells. Among all the complexes [Zn(L)2] complex showed the maximum efficiency.  相似文献

The three Ru(II) complexes of [Ru(phen)2dppca]2+ (1) [Ru(bpy)2dppca]2+ (2) and [Ru(dmb)2dppca]2+ (3) (where phen = 1,10 phenanthroline, bpy = 2,2-bipyridine, dmb = 2 ,2-dimethyl 2′,2′-bipyridine and polypyridyl ligand containing a single carboxylate functionality dppca ligand (dipyridophenazine-11-carboxylic acid) have been synthesized and characterized. These complexes have been shown to act as promising calf thymus DNA intercalators and a new class of DNA light switches, as evidenced by UV-visible and luminescence titrations with Co2+ and EDTA, steady-state emission quenching by [Fe(CN)6]4− and KI, DNA competitive binding with ethidium bromide, viscosity measurements, and DNA melting experiments. The results suggest that 1, 2, and 3 complexes bind to CT-DNA through intercalation and follows the order 1 > 2 > 3. Under irradiation at 365 nm, the three complexes have also been found to promote the photocleavage of plasmid pBR322 DNA.  相似文献
