On the Rate of Convergence of Two Bernstein–Bézier Type Operators for Bounded Variation Functions

In this paper we study the rate of convergence of two Bernstein–Bézier type operatorsB^(α)_nandL^(α)_nfor bounded variation functions. By means of construction of suitable functions and the method of Bojanic and Vuillemier (J. Approx. Theory31(1981), 67–79), using some results of probability theory, we obtain asymptotically optimal estimations ofB^(α)_nandL^(α)_nfor bounded variation functions at points of continuity and points of discontinuity.     

Rate of Convergence of Chlodowsky-Type Bernstein Operators for Functions of Bounded Variation

In the current paper, we estimate the rate of pointwise convergence of the Chlodowsky-type Bernstein operators C _n (f,x) for functions defined on the interval [0,b _n ], for b _n  → ∞ as n → ∞, which are of bounded variation on [0, ∞). To prove our main result, we have used some methods and techniques from probability theory.

本文运用概率方法研究了Feller-Trotter概率型算子对有界变差函数的收敛速度。由于该算子包括许多常见的算子,从而由关于该算子的一般结论可导出许多常见算子对有界变差。函数的收敛速度。作为一般结论的应用,本文列举了Baskakov算子、Szasz-Mirakjan算子、Gauss-Weierstrass算子、Gramma算子、Post-Gamma算子对有界变差函数的收敛速度。其中,关于Szasz-Mirakjan算子的结论推广并改进了Fuhua Cheng的结论,其它结论是作者首次得到。

Unconditional Convergence of Fourier Series for Functions of Bounded Variation

This article concerns the unconditional convergence a.e. of Fourier series with respect to general orthonormal systems. We find certain conditions to be satisfied by the functions in the orthonormal system so that the Fourier series of each function of finite variation unconditionally converge a.e. The results are best possible.

Convergence in Variation and Rate of Approximation for Nonlinear Integral Operators of Convolution Type

In this paper we obtain estimates, convergence results and rate of approximation for functions belonging to BV–spaces (spaces of functions with bounded variation) by means of nonlinear convolution integral operators. We treat both the periodic and the non-periodic case using, respectively, the classical Jordan variation and the multidimensional variation in the sense of Tonelli.     

On the Rate of Convergence for Modified Baskakov Operators

We consider some linear operators in certain weighted spaces of functions of one variable and study approximation properties of these operators. The method was inspired by Kirov [4].

Entire Functions of Bounded Type on Fréchet Spaces

We show that holomorphic mappings of bounded type defined on Fréchet spaces extend to the bidual. The relationship between holomorphic mappings of bounded type and of uniformly bounded type is discussed and some algebraic and topological properties of the space of all entire mappings of (uniformly) bounded type are proved, for example a holomorphic version of Schauder's theorem.

Spaces of Functions of Generalized Bounded Variation. II: Questions of Uniform Convergence of Fourier Series

Tests are given for uniform convergence of Fourier series for spaces of functions of generalized bounded variation; along with the well-known tests (of Salem–Oskolkov–Young, Chanturiya, and Waterman) we suggest new tests. We show that the Waterman test for uniform convergence of Fourier series is strongest and unimprovable. We present a theorem on exact estimates for the Fourier coefficients for spaces of functions of bounded variation which contains classical results, improves several well-known results, and gives some new results.     

Rate of Convergence for the Absolutely (C, α) Summable Fourier Series of Functions of Bounded Variation

A theorem of Bosanquet states that the Fourier series of a 2π-periodic function of bounded variation is absolutely (C, α) summable. In this paper we give a quantitative version of Bosanquet's result.
