We give necessary and sufficient conditions for a nonexpansive map on a finite-dimensional normed space to have a nonempty, bounded set of fixed points. Among other results we show that if f: VV is a nonexpansive map on a finite-dimensional normed space V, then the fixed point set of f is nonempty and bounded if and only if there exist w1,..., w m in V such that {f(w i ) ? w i : i = 1,..., m} illuminates the unit ball. This yields a numerical procedure for detecting fixed points of nonexpansive maps on finite-dimensional spaces. We also discuss applications of this procedure to certain nonlinear eigenvalue problems arising in game theory and mathematical biology.  相似文献

We introduce the concept of virtually stable selfmaps of Hausdorff spaces, which generalizes virtually nonexpansive selfmaps of metric spaces introduced in the previous work by the first author, and explore various properties of their convergence sets and fixed point sets. We also prove that the fixed point set of a virtually stable selfmap satisfying a certain kind of homogeneity is always star-convex.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove a strong convergence theorem by the hybrid method for a countable family of relatively nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space. We also establish a new control condition for the sequence of mappings {Tn} which is weaker than the control condition in Lemma 3.1 of Aoyama et al. [K. Aoyama, Y. Kimura, W. Takahashi and M. Toyoda, Approximation of common fixed points of a countable family of nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space, Nonlinear Anal. 67 (2007) 2350-2360]. Moreover, we apply our results for finding a common fixed point of two relatively nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space and an element of the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem in a Banach space, respectively. Our results are applicable to a wide class of mappings.  相似文献

We obtain necessary conditions for the existence of fixed point and approximate fixed point of nonexpansive and asymptotically nonexpansive maps defined on a closed bounded convex subset of a uniformly convex complete metric space and study the structure of the set of fixed points. We construct Mann type iterative sequences in convex metric space and study its convergence. As a consequence of fixed point results, we prove best approximation results. We also prove Kantorovich-Rubinstein maximum principle in convex metric spaces.  相似文献

In this paper, we construct a new iterative scheme and prove strong convergence theorem for approximation of a common fixed point of a countable family of relatively nonexpansive mappings, which is also a solution to an equilibrium problem in a uniformly convex and uniformly smooth real Banach space. We apply our results to approximate fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping, which is also solution to an equilibrium problem in a real Hilbert space and prove strong convergence of general H-monotone mappings in a uniformly convex and uniformly smooth real Banach space. Our results extend many known recent results in the literature.  相似文献

Common Fixed Points of One-Parameter Nonexpansive Semigroups   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this paper, we show that the set of all common fixed pointsof a one-parameter nonexpansive semigroup is that of some singlenonexpansive mapping. We next compare our result with Bruck'sfamous fixed-point theorem. We finally prove very simple convergencetheorems to a common fixed point. In our discussion, we assumeneither the strict convexity of the underlying space, nor theweak compactness of the domain of a nonexpansive semigroup.2000 Mathematics Subject Classification 47H20 (primary), 47H10(secondary).  相似文献

We define an alternate convexically nonexpansive map T on a bounded, closed, convex subset C of a Banach space X and prove that if X is a strictly convex Banach space and C is a nonempty weakly compact convex subset of X, then every alternate convexically nonexpansive map T : CC has a fixed point. As its application, we give an existence result for the solution of an integral equation.  相似文献

Common fixed point results for families of single-valued nonexpansive or quasi-nonexpansive mappings and multivalued upper semicontinuous, almost lower semicontinuous or nonexpansive mappings are proved either in CAT(0) spaces or R-trees. It is also shown that the fixed point set of quasi-nonexpansive self-mapping of a nonempty closed convex subset of a CAT(0) space is always nonempty closed and convex.  相似文献

We study the existence problems of fixed points and the topological structure of fixed point sets for nonexpansive set-valued maps in Banach space. We establish some porosity results on the existence of fixed points and the topological structure of fixed point sets for nonexpansive set-valued maps with values in an admissible family. The results obtained in the present paper cover and improve the corresponding ones due to De Blasi and Myjak (C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris Sér. I Math. 308:51–54, 1989) and De Blasi et al. Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to introduce an iterative method for approximating a point in the set of zeros of the sum of two monotone mappings, which is also a solution of a fixed point problem for a Bregman strongly nonexpansive mapping in a real reflexive Banach space. With our iterative technique, we state and prove a strong convergence theorem for approximating an element in the intersection of the set of solutions of a variational inclusion problem for sum of two monotone mappings and the set of solutions of a fixed point problem for Bregman strongly nonexpansive mapping. We give applications of our result to convex minimization problem, convex feasibility problem, variational inequality problem, and equilibrium problem. Our result complements and extends some recent results in literature.  相似文献

Let K be a nonempty, closed and convex subset of a real reflexive Banach space E which has a uniformly Gâteaux differentiable norm. Assume that every nonempty closed convex and bounded subset of K has the fixed point property for nonexpansive mappings. Strong convergence theorems for approximation of a fixed point of Lipschitz pseudo-contractive mappings which is also a unique solution to variational inequality problem involving ?-strongly pseudo-contractive mappings are proved. The results presented in this article can be applied to the study of fixed points of nonexpansive mappings, variational inequality problems, convex optimization problems, and split feasibility problems. Our result extends many recent important results.  相似文献

In this article, we introduce an inertial projection and contraction algorithm by combining inertial type algorithms with the projection and contraction algorithm for solving a variational inequality in a Hilbert space H. In addition, we propose a modified version of our algorithm to find a common element of the set of solutions of a variational inequality and the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping in H. We establish weak convergence theorems for both proposed algorithms. Finally, we give the numerical experiments to show the efficiency and advantage of the inertial projection and contraction algorithm.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is by using CSQ method to study the strong convergence problem of iterative sequences for a pair of strictly asymptotically pseudocontractive mappings to approximate a common fixed point in a Hilbert space. Under suitable conditions some strong convergence theorems are proved. Eigenvaluations
We study the dynamics in C2 of superattracting fixed point germs and of polynomial maps near infinity. In both cases we show that the asymptotic attraction rate is a quadratic integer, and construct a plurisubharmonic function with the adequate invariance property. This is done by finding an infinitely near point at which the map becomes rigid: the critical set is contained in a totally invariant set with normal crossings. We locate this infinitely near point through the induced action of the dynamics on a space of valuations. This space carries an R-tree structure and conveniently encodes local data: an infinitely near point corresponds to an open subset of the tree. The action respects the tree structure and admits a fixed point—or eigenvaluation—which is attracting in a certain sense. A suitable basin of attraction corresponds to the desired infinitely near point.  相似文献

In this article, we introduce a faster iteration for finding a fixed point of G-monotone nonexpansive mapping in a uniformly convex Banach space with a directed graph. We establish weak and strong convergence theorems of fixed point for G-monotone nonexpansive mapping with a more convenient G-convex interval instead of the previous fixed point dominated conditions in convergence analysis. Moreover, we provide two numerical examples to illustrate the convergence behavior and advantages of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, relaxed iterative algorithms of Krasnoselskii-type and Halperntype that approximate a solution of a system of a generalized mixed equilibrium problem and a common fixed point of a countable family of totally quasi-φ-asymptotically nonexpansive multi-valued maps are constructed. Strong convergence of the sequence generated by these algorithms is proved in uniformly smooth and strictly convex real Banach spaces with KadecKlee property. Furthermore, several applications of our theorems are also presented. Finally, our theorems are significant improvements on several important recent results for this class of nonlinear problems.  相似文献

Very recently, Yao, Chen and Yao [20] proposed a hybrid viscosity approximation method, which combines the viscosity approximation method and the Mann iteration method. Under the convergence of one parameter sequence to zero, they derived a strong convergence theorem in a uniformly smooth Banach space. In this paper, under the convergence of no parameter sequence to zero, we prove the strong convergence of the sequence generated by their method to a fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping, which solves a variational inequality. An appropriate example such that all conditions of this result are satisfied and their condition βn→0 is not satisfied is provided. Furthermore, we also give a weak convergence theorem for their method involving a nonexpansive mapping in a Hilbert space.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to propose a modified block iterative algorithm for find a common element of the set of common fixed points of an infinite family of quasi-?-asymptotically nonexpansive mappings and the set of an equilibrium problem. Under suitable conditions, some strong convergence theorems are established in a uniformly smooth and strictly convex Banach space with the Kadec-Klee property. As an application, at the end of the paper a numerical example is given. The results presented in the paper improve and extend the corresponding results in Qin et al. The purpose of this paper is to study some iterative algorithms for finding a common element of the set of solutions of systems of variational inequalities for inverse-strongly accretive mappings and the set of fixed points of an asymptotically nonexpansive mapping in uniformly convex and 2-uniformly smooth Banach space or uniformly convex and q-uniformly smooth Banach space. Strong convergence theorems are obtained under suitable conditions. We also give some numerical examples to support our main results. The results obtained in this paper improve and extend the recent ones announced by many others in the literature.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce an general iterative scheme for finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping and the set of solutions of the variational inequality for an inverse-strongly monotone mapping in a Hilbert space. We show that the iterative sequence converges strongly to a common element of the two sets. Using this results, we consider the problem of finding a common fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping and a strictly pseudocontractive mapping and the problem of finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping and the set of zeros of an inverse-strongly monotone mapping. The results of this paper extended and improved the results of Iiduka and Takahashi (Nonlinear Anal. 61:341–350, 2005).  相似文献
