The condition δ2 in Cesàro-Orlicz sequence spaces equipped with the Luxemburg norm is discussed. The comparison theorem for these spaces is presented. Some counterexamples are provided.  相似文献

We consider the Cesàro sequence space cesp as a closed subspace of the infinite ?p-sum of finite dimensional spaces. We easily obtain many known results, for example, cesp has property (β) of Rolewicz, uniform Opial property, and weak uniform normal structure. We also consider some generalized Cesàro sequence spaces. Finally, we compute the von Neumann-Jordan and James constants of the two-dimensional Cesàro sequence space when 1<p?2.  相似文献

Some criteria for extreme points and strong U-points in Cesàro-Orlicz spaces are given. In consequence we find a Cesàro-Orlicz sequence space different from c0 which has no extreme points. Some examples show that in these spaces the notion of the strong U-point is essentially stronger than the notion of the extreme point. Various examples presented in this paper show that there are some differences between criteria for extreme points and strong U-points in Orlicz spaces and in Cesàro-Orlicz spaces. We also show that the uniqueness of the local best approximation needs the notion of SU-point, that is, the notion of the extreme point is not strong enough here.  相似文献

We determine the classes (XYT) of matrix transformations from X into YT where X is one of the classical sequence spaces c0, c, ? and ?1 of all null, convergent and bounded complex sequences and all absolutely convergent complex series, T is a triangle, YT is the matrix domain of T in Y and Y is any of the sets of all sequences that are summable, summable to zero or bounded by the strong Cesàro method of order 1, with index 1 ? p < ∞. Furthermore, we determine the representations of the general bounded linear operators from c into Y. We also establish estimates for the norms of the operators in each case.  相似文献

In [M. Kato, L. Maligranda, On James and Jordan-von Neumann constants of Lorentz sequence spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 258 (2001) 457-465], the James constant of the 2-dimensional Lorentz sequence space d(2)(ω,q) is computed in the case where 2?q<∞. It is an open problem to compute it in the case where 1?q<2. We establish special cases of a conjecture of S.P. Robinson [S.P. Robinson, Approximate identities for certain dual classes, DPhil thesis, University of York, UK, 1996] concerning Cesàro means of certain classes of analytic functions in the unit disk. The spaces and introduced by Ayd?n and Ba?ar [C. Ayd?n, F. Ba?ar, Some new difference sequence spaces, Appl. Math. Comput. 157 (3) (2004) 677-693] can be considered as the matrix domains of a triangle in the sets of all sequences that are summable to zero, summable, and bounded by the Cesàro method of order 1. Here we define the sets of sequences which are the matrix domains of that triangle in the sets of all sequences that are summable, summable to zero, or bounded by the strong Cesàro method of order 1 with index p?1. We determine the β-duals of the new spaces and characterize matrix transformations on them into the sets of bounded, convergent and null sequences.  相似文献

The main object of this paper is to investigate several general families of hypergeometric polynomials and their associated multiple integral representations. By suitably specializing our main results, the corresponding integral representations are deduced for such familiar classes of hypergeometric polynomials as (for example) the generalized Bedient polynomials and the generalized Cesàro polynomials. Each of the integral representations, which are derived in this paper, may be viewed also as a linearization relationship for the product of two different members of the associated family of hypergeometric polynomials.  相似文献

We consider the generalized shift operator, associated with the Laplace-Bessel differential operator . The maximal operator Mγ (B-maximal operator) and the Riesz potential (B-Riesz potential), associated with the generalized shift operator are investigated. At first, we prove that the B-maximal operator Mγ is bounded from the B-Morrey space Lp,λ,γ to Lp,λ,γ for all 1<p<∞ and 0?λ<n+|γ|. We prove that the B-Riesz potential , 0<α<n+|γ| is bounded from the B-Morrey space Lp,λ,γ to Lq,λ,γ if and only if α/(n+|γ|−λ)=1/p−1/q, 1<p<(n+|γ|−λ)/α. Also we prove that the B-Riesz potential is bounded from the B-Morrey space L1,λ,γ to the weak B-Morrey space WLq,λ,γ if and only if α/(n+|γ|−λ)=1−1/q.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the class of Banach spaces with James constant . It is shown that, for a Banach space of three or more dimensions, the James constant becomes if and only if the norm is induced by an inner product. Moreover, the symmetric absolute norms on with James constant are completely characterized in terms of convex functions on the unit interval, which provides many new examples of such norms other than the Euclidean or regular octagonal norms. However, it is also shown that there exist two‐dimensional normed spaces with James constant outside of the family of symmetric absolute norms.  相似文献

In this paper, the necessary and sufficient conditions are found for the boundedness of the rough B-fractional integral operators from the Lorentz spaces Lp,s,γ to Lq,r,γ, 1<p<q<∞, 1?r?s?∞, and from L1,r,γ to Lq,∞,γWLq,γ, 1<q<∞, 1?r?∞. This paper concerns the Cesàro operator acting on various spaces of analytic functions on the unit disc. The remarkable fact that this operator is subnormal when acting on the Hardy space H2 has lead to extensive studies of its spectral picture on other spaces of this type. We present some of the methods that have been used to obtain information about the spectrum of the Cesàro operator acting on Hardy and Bergman spaces and give a unified approach to these problems which also yields new results in this direction. In particular, we prove that the Cesàro operator is subdecomposable on H1 and on the standard weighted Bergman spaces , α0.  相似文献
