The isatin-β-thiosemicarbazone (ITC) complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Hg(II) and Pd(II) were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, as well as molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, FTIR, UV-Vis and 1H NMR spectroscopic methods. The complexes were also studied for its thermal stability. They all behaviour as anhydrous complexes and its thermolysis passes through the stages of deamination (517–547 K) and complete thermal decomposition (619–735 K).  相似文献

A new polychelatogen, AXAD-16-1,2-diphenylethanolamine, was developed by chemically modifying Amberlite XAD-16 with 1,2-diphenylethanolamine to produce an effective metal-chelating functionality for the preconcentration of Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II) and their determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Various physiochemical parameters that influence the quantitative preconcentration and recovery of metal were optimized by both static and dynamic techniques. The resin showed superior extraction efficiency with high-metal loading capacity values of 0.73, 0.80, 0.77, 0.87, 0.74, and 0.81 mmol/g for Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II), respectively. The system also showed rapid metal-ion extraction and stripping, with complete saturation in the sorbent phase within 15 min for all the metal ions. The optimum condition for effective metal-ion extraction was found to be a neutral pH, which is a great advantage in the preconcentration of trace metal ions from natural water samples without any chemical pretreatment of the sample. The resin also demonstrated exclusive ion selectivity toward targeted metal ions by showing greater resistivity to various complexing species and more common metal ions during analyte concentration, which ultimately led to high preconcentration factors of 700 for Cu(II); 600 for Mn(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II); and 500 for Cd(II) and Pb(II), arising from a larger sample breakthrough volume. The lower limits of metal-ion detection were 7 ng/mL for Mn(II) and Ni(II); 5 ng/mL for Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II), and 10 ng/mL for Pb(II). The developed resin was successful in preconcentrating metal ions from synthetic and real water samples, multivitamin-multimineral tablets, and curry leaves (Murraya koenigii) with relative standard deviations of < or = 3.0% for all analytical measurements, which demonstrated its practical utility.  相似文献

Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) with 3-(2-pyridyl)-1-(2-hydroxy phenyl)-2-propen-1-one (PHPO), 3-(1-naphthyl)-1-(2-hydroxy phenyl)-2-propen-1-one (NHPO) and 3-(3,4-dimethoxy phenyl)-1-(2-hydroxy phenyl)-2-propen-1-one (DMPHPO) have been synthesized and characterized by analytical, conductivity, thermal, magnetic, infrared, electronic and electron spin resonance data. Based on analytical data the stoichiometry of the complexes has been found to be 1 : 2. The conductivity data show that all these complexes are non-electrolytes. The infrared spectral data indicate that the ligand PHPO acts as uninegative tridentately towards Co(II) and Ni(II) and bidentately with Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II). Ligands like NHPO and DMPHPO act as uninegative bidentately with all the metal ions. The electronic spectral data suggest that all the Co(II) complexes and Ni(II) of PHPO complex are octahedral and all the Cu(II) and Ni(II) of NHPO and DMPHPO complex are square-planar. The complex of Zn(II) and Cd(II) are tetrahedral. ESR parameters of Cu(II) complexes have been calculated and relevant conclusions have been drawn with respect to the nature of bonds present in them.  相似文献

The thermal dehydrations of formate dihydrates of Mg(II), Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) were studied by means of thermogravimetry, differential thermal analysis and differential scanning calorimetry in air.The reaction orders of dehydration obtained by the dynamic and the static methods were found to be 2/3 for all the salts examined, which indicated that the rate of dehydration was controlled by a chemical process at a phase boundary. This was confirmed by microscopic observation. The values of activation energy, frequency factor and the enthalpy change of dehydration for all salts examined, were 21–30 kcal mole?1, 1010-1012 sec?1 and 28–31 kcal mole?1, respectively. The temperature at which the dehydration occurred was regarded as a measure of the strength of the metalOH2 bond, and this temperature increased with increasing the reciprocal of the radius of the metallic ion.  相似文献

The chemically modified silica, obtained by reacting 2-mercaptobenz-imidazole with 3-chloropropyl silica gel, was used to adsorb Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) from aqueous solutions at various pH. Between pH 3–5, the order of selectivity was Hg(II) > Cd(II) Cu(II) Zn(II) Pb(II). Under batch conditions retentions of 100% were achieved for all metals except for Pb(II) where 93% was attained. Under column conditions recoveries of 100% were obtained for all metals.  相似文献

Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 2,5-dichlorobenzoates were prepared and their compositions and solubilities in water at 295 K were determined. The IR spectra and X-ray diffractograms of the obtained complexes were recorded. The complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) were obtained as solids with a 1:2 molar ratio of metal to organic ligand and different degrees of hydration. When heated at a heating rate of 10 K min-1, the hydrated complexes lose some (Co, Zn) or all (Ni, Cu, Cd) of the crystallization water molecules and then decompose to oxide MO (Co, Ni) or gaseous products (Cu, Zn, Cd). When heated at a heating rate of 5 K min-1, the complexes of Ni(II) and Cu(II) lose some (Ni) or all (Cu) of the crystallization water molecules and then decompose directly to MO. Conditions for the preparation of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II)3,3-dimethylglutarates were investigated and their quantitative composition, solubility in water at 293 K and magnetic moments were determined. IR spectra and powder diffraction patterns of the complexes prepared with general formula MC7H10O4nH2O (n=0−2) were recorded and their thermal decomposition in air were studied. During heating the hydrated complexes of Mn(II),Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) are dehydrated in one step and next all the anhydrous complexes decompose to oxides directly (Mn, Co, Zn) or with intermediate formation free metal (Ni,Cu) or oxocarbonates (Cd). The carboxylate groups in the complexes studied are bidentate. The magnetic moments for the paramagnetic complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II)attain values 5.62, 5.25, 2.91 and 1.41 M.B., respectively. New metal complexes of Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) with salicylidine-2-aminobenzimidazole (SABI) are synthesized and their physicochemical properties are investigated using elemental and thermal analyses, IR, conductometric, solid reflectance and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The base reacts with these metal ions to give 1:1 (Metal:SABI) complexes; in cases of Fe(III), Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) ions; and 1:2 (Metal:SABI) complexes; in case of Ni(II) ion. The conductance data reveal that Fe(III) complex is 2:1 electrolyte, Co(II) is 1:2 electrolyte, Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes are 1:1 electrolytes while Ni(II) is non-electrolyte. IR spectra showed that the ligand is coordinated to the metal ions in a terdentate mannar with O, N, N donor sites of the phenloic -OH, azomethine -N and benzimidazole -N3. Magnetic and solid reflectance spectra are used to infer the coordinating capacity of the ligand and the geometrical structure of these complexes. The thermal decomposition of the complexes is studied and indicates that not only the coordinated and/or crystallization water is lost but also that the decomposition of the ligand from the complexes is necessary to interpret the successive mass loss. Different thermodynamic activation parameters are also reported, using Coats-Redfern method. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The analytical determination of Hg(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), As(III), Sb(III), Ti(IV) and U(VI) in the presence of Fe(III) and 1 M H2SO4 are investigated using the polarographic technique. The wave corresponding to the reduction of Fe(III) to Fe(II) was found to be completely suppressed by the addition of 1% pyrogallol. Thus, different mixtures of these elements, viz. Hg(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), As(III) and Fe(III)-mixture (A), Cu(II), Cd(II), Sb(III), As(III) and Fe(III)-mixture (B), and Cu(II), Cd(II), Ti(IV), U(VI) and Fe(III)-mixture (C), were quantitatively determined using 1% pyrogallol and 1 M H2SO4 as supporting electrolyte. The i1/c results give excellent correlations in each case, as indicated from the results of leastsquares regression analysis.  相似文献

The syntheses and structural details of tetraisopropoxyaluminates and tetra-tert-butoxyaluminates of nickel(II), copper(I), and copper(II) are reported. Within the nickel series, either Ni[Al(OiPr)4]2.2HOiPr, with nickel(II) in a distorted octahedral oxygen environment, or Ni[Al(OiPr)4]2.py, with nickel(II) in a square-pyramidal O4N coordination sphere, or Ni[(iPrO)(tBuO)3Al]2, with Ni(II) in a quasi-tetrahedral oxygen coordination, has been obtained. Another isolated complex is Ni[(iPrO)3AlOAl(OiPr)3].3py (with nickel(II) being sixfold-coordinated), which may also be described as a "NiO" species trapped by two Al(OiPr)3 Lewis acid-base systems stabilized at nickel by three pyridine donors. Copper(I) compounds have been isolated in three forms: [(iPrO)4Al]Cu.2py, [(tBuO)4Al]Cu.2py, and Cu2[(tBuO)4Al]2. In all of these compounds, the aluminate moiety behaves as a bidentate unit, creating a tetrahedrally distorted N2O2 copper environment in the pyridine adducts. In the base-free copper(I) tert-butoxyaluminate, a dicopper dumbbell [Cu-Cu 2.687(1) A] is present with two oxygen contacts on each of the copper atoms. Copper(II) alkoxyaluminates have been characterized either as Cu[(tBuO)4Al]2, {Cu(iPrO)[(iPrO)4Al]}2, and Cu[(tBuO)3(iPrO)Al]2 (copper being tetracoordinated by oxygen) or as [(iPrO)4Al]2Cu.py (pentacoordinated copper similar to the nickel derivative). Finally, a copper(II) hydroxyaluminate has been isolated, displaying pentacoordinate copper (O4N coordination sphere) by dimerization, with the formula {[(tBuO)4Al]Cu(OH).py}2. The formation of all of these isolated products is not always straightforward because some of these compounds in solution are subject to decomposition or are involved in equilibria. Besides NMR [copper(I) compounds], UV absorptions and magnetic moments are used to characterize the compounds.  相似文献

Summary DbPH, a quadridentate chelating agent, was studied as a solvent extraction reagent for Cu(II), Co(II), and Ni(II). In all cases 11 complexes were extracted; however for Cu(II) and Co(II) ion-paired species exist, while for Ni(II) only neutral complexes were extracted. In all cases an extraction efficiency of 35–60% was observed unlike the greater than 90% observed for similar mono-hydrazone derivatives. The steric hindrance probably present in the bis adduct prevented a more efficient extraction.

Complex formation of magnesium(II), manganese(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and lead(II) with S-carboxymethyl-L-cysteine in aqueous solution. The complex formation between Mg(II), Mn(II), Ni(II). Cu(II), Pb(II) ions and S-carboxy-methyl-l-cysteine (H2A) has been studied by measurement of pH at 25°C and constant ionic strength (1 M NaClO4). Although no interaction occurs with Mg(II), this work provides evidence for a variety of complexes: MnA; CuHA+; CuA; CuA22-; NiHA+; NiA; NiA22-; PbHA+; PbA et PbA(OH)-. The overall formation constants of all these species are computed and refined. The results allow the determination of the distribution of the complexes as a function of pH; some structural features of the metal complexes in solution are indicated.  相似文献

The formation constants of some transition metal ions Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Ni(II) and Cu(II) binary complexes containing Schiff bases resulting from condensation of salicylaldehyde with aniline (I), 2-aminopyridine (II), 4-aminopyridine (III) and 2-aminopyrimidine (IV) were determined pH-metrically in ethanolic medium (80%, v/v). The formation constants were determined for all binary complexes. The important infrared (IR) spectral bands corresponding to the active groups in the four ligands and the solid complexes under investigation were studied. The solid complexes have been synthesized and studied by thermogravimetric analysis. The thermal dehydration and decomposition of these complexes were studied kinetically using the integral method applying the Coats-Redfern equation. It was found that the thermal decomposition of the complexes follow second order kinetics. The thermodynamic parameters of the decomposition are also reported. The electronic absorption spectra of the investigated ligands were carried out to determine the pK(a) values spectrophotometrically.  相似文献

Infrared (IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), thermogravimetric analysis (TG), derivative thermogravimetric analysis (DTG), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and molar conductivity studies have been carried out on the chelates of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) with 3-methyl- and 3-phenyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolones. The solid chelates were synthesized, separated, analyzed and their structures were elucidated. The data obtained show that almost all of the prepared chelates contain water molecules in their coordination sphere. The initial stage in the thermal decomposition process of these chelates shows the presence of water molecule, the second denotes to the intermediate products. The final decomposition products were found to be the respective metal oxides. The NMR spectrum of 3-methyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolone ligand shows the existence of the oxime rather than the nitroso form. 3-phenyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolone acts as a neutral bidentate ligand whereas 3-methyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolone acts as monobasic bidentate ligand bonded to the metal ions through the two oxygen atoms of the carbonyl and nitroso groups. The solid chelates prepared behave as non-electrolytes in DMF solution. The coordination numbers of the obtained chelates using 3-methyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolone are four on applying the mole ratio 1:1 and six on using 1:2 mole ratio. In case of using the ligand 3-phenyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolone the coordination number is six in both cases. Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Pd(II) and Ru(III) complexes of Schiff bases derived from the condensation of sulfaguanidine with 2,4‐dihydroxy benzaldehyde ( HL1 ), 2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthaldehyde ( HL2 ) and salicylaldehyde ( HL3 ) have been synthesized. The structures of the prepared metal complexes were proposed based on elemental analysis, molar conductance, thermal analysis (TGA, DSC and DTG), magnetic susceptibility measurements and spectroscopic techniques (IR, UV‐Vis, and ESR). In all complexes, the ligand bonds to the metal ion through the azomethine nitrogen and α‐hydroxy oxygen atoms. The structures of Pd(II) complex 8 and Ru(III) complex 9 were found to be polynuclear. Two kinds of stereochemical geometries; distorted tetrahedral and distorted square pyramidal, have been realized for the Cu(II) complexes based on the results of UV‐Vis, magnetic susceptibility and ESR spectra whereas octahedral geometry was predicted for Co(II), Mn(II) and Ru(III) complexes. Ni(II) complexes were predicted to be square planar and tetrahedral and Pd(II) complexes were found to be square planar. The antimicrobial activity of the ligands and their metal complexes was also investigated against the gram‐positive bacteria Staphylococcus aures and Bacillus subtilis and gram‐negative bacteria, Escherichia coli and Pesudomonas aeruginosa, by using the agar dilution method. Chloramphenicol was used as standard compound. The obtained data revealed that the metal complexes are more or less, active than the parent ligand and standard. The X‐ray crystal structure of HL3 has been also reported.  相似文献

The polymerization of N-vinylcarbazole by 13X molecular sieves modified by five different transition metal ions, viz. Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II), has been studied under various conditions. The order of reactivity follows the trend: Mn(II) ≈ Cu(II) > Co(II) > Zn(II) > Ni(II) at pH ∼ 3.55 and an exchange level of 30% of the metal ion. The polymerizations are believed to occur by a dual-ion-initiation mechanism in which both metal ions and proton centres participate. The overall energy of activation (Ea) for each system decreases with decreasing pH of the exchanging salt solution. Average activation energy on proton centre (EH) and that on metal ion centre (Ea) have been evaluated for each system. Ea, EH and Ec have been shown to correlate with one another. The molecular weights and their distributions are affected by the nature of the metal ion and also by the protonic centres. The possibility of a correlation of the catalytic activity of the modified 13X with ionic radius, electronegativity and normal co-ordination number has been examined.  相似文献

The isomorphous single crystals of M(ethylenediamine)3(NO3)2, where M is Zn(II), Ni(II) and Co(II), exhibit macroscopic optical activity as predicted by their acentric space group. Axial circular dichroism measurements on these pure crystals show conclusively that spontaneous resolution has occurred. The axial circular dichroism and orthoaxial linear dichroism spectra of these pure crystals, and of Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Mn(II) and Ru(II) doped into the Zn(en)3(NO3)2 crystal have been measured at ambient and cryogenic temperatures in the range from 7 to 35 kK. The first NO3? transition at 32.5 kK is assigned as 1A ← 1A based on its linear polarization and sign of rotational strength. The d-d transitions are assigned in the context of D3 symmetry and reveal a small negative crystal field parameter k, consistent with theoretical prediction. A positive R for all d-d transitions is found to be associated with the Λ configuration for all of the complex ions, by correlation with the crystal and solution circular dichroism of Ru(en)32+.  相似文献

The present work investigates the influence of acid activation of montmorillonite on adsorption of Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), and Pb(II) from aqueous medium and comparison of the adsorption capacities with those on parent montmorillonite. The clay-metal interactions were studied under different conditions of pH, concentration of metal ions, amount of clay, interaction time, and temperature. The interactions were dependent on pH and the uptake was controlled by the amount of clay and the initial concentration of the metal ions. The adsorption capacity of acid-activated montmorillonite increases for all the metal ions. The interactions were adsorptive in nature and relatively fast and the rate processes more akin to the second-order kinetics. The adsorption data fitted both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms, indicating that strong forces were responsible for the interactions at energetically nonuniform sites. The Langmuir monolayer capacity of the acid-activated montmorillonite is more than that of the parent montmorillonite (Cd(II): 32.7 and 33.2 mg/g; Co(II): 28.6 and 29.7 mg/g; Cu(II): 31.8 and 32.3 mg/g; Pb(II): 33.0 and 34.0 mg/g; and Ni(II): 28.4 and 29.5 mg/g for montmorillonite and acid-activated montmorillonite, respectively). The thermodynamics of the rate processes showed the adsorption of Co(II), Pb(II), and Ni(II) to be exothermic, accompanied by decreases in entropy and Gibbs free energy, while the adsorption of Cd(II) and Cu(II) was endothermic, with an increase in entropy and an appreciable decrease in Gibbs free energy. The results have established the potential use for montmorillonite and its acid-activated form as adsorbents for Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), and Pb(II) ions from aqueous media.  相似文献

A rapid procedure is described for the separation and determination of 0.025 mg to 1.0 mg quantities of As(V), V(V), Mo(VI) and W(VI) from small quantities of Cu(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) using silica gel as the selective sorbent for the cations. The individual anionic components, which remain in the supernatant solution after separation from the cations, are determined by colorimetric methods. The complete recovery of As(V) in supernatant solution has also been tested radiometrically using76As as the radioactive indicator. The sorbed cations after extraction with dilute hydrochloric acid are determined by EDTA titrations.  相似文献
