分析了锥台光纤的传输特性,建立了高斯近似模型,采用模场耦合理论,计算了锥台光纤的功率转换效率。并在激光器的输出光波长为532 nm,多模光纤的数值孔径为0.11,纤芯半径为12.5 μm条件下对细端半径分别为(4±1),(5±1),(6±1),(7±1)和(8±1) μm的锥台光纤的转换效率进行了实验测定。提出利用锥台光纤的圆柱形多模光纤部分传输光功率,锥台部分保证光束质量的传输方案,在保证光束质量的同时能传输较高的光功率。  相似文献

A large-mode-area all-solid photonic bandgap fiber with a seven-cell core and five high-index rod rings is investigated. Numerical simulations show that an effective area of more than 500 μm(2), a bending loss of less than 0.1 dB/m at a bending radius of 10 cm and effectively single-mode operation can be achieved simultaneously. A core diameter of 44.8 μm and an effective area of 650 μm(2) at 1064 nm are achieved in a fabricated fiber. Bending loss at 1064 nm is 0.09 dB/m at a bending radius of 7 cm. Effectively single-mode operation is also realized at a bending radius of 10 cm.  相似文献

A nine-element analyzer system for inelastic X-ray scattering has been designed and constructed. Each individual analyzer crystal is carefully aligned with an inverse joystick goniometer. For the analyzers silicon wafers with 100 mm diameter are spherically bent to 1 or 0.85 m radius, respectively. Additionally, an analyzer with an extra small radius of 0.182 m and diameter of 100 mm was constructed for X-ray absorption spectroscopy in fluorescence mode. All analyzer crystals with large radius have highly uniform focusing property. The total energy resolution is approximately 0.5 eV at backscattering for the 1 m radius Si(440) analyzer array and approximately 4 eV for the 0.182 m radius Si(440) analyzer at 6493 eV.  相似文献

We report an improved version of a spot-size converter (SSC) consisting of a silicon nanowire evanescently coupled to a phase-matched Poly-Si multilayer structure. With wider transversal dimensions the multilayer structure expands the mode significantly thus increasing the coupling efficiency with the conventional single-mode fiber. Detailed optimization process of a 17-layer based SSC is discussed and its coupling efficiency with a high-NA fiber of radius 2 μm is obtained as 98% providing only 0.087 dB loss. Vertical alignment tolerance between the optimized SSC and a high-NA fiber of radius 2 μm is also shown. This novel design does not consist of a taper and can be fabricated by using CMOS compatible process. It has a short device length and more relaxed alignment tolerances with the fiber. Full-vectorial and computationally efficient finite element method and the least squares boundary residual method have been used for the analysis and optimization of the proposed structure.  相似文献

本文分析一种由两层低折射率孔组成的大模场光纤的模式特性.采用多极法和有限元方法数值计算并分析了内层孔与外层孔尺寸变化对光纤基模与高阶模的束缚损耗与弯曲损耗的影响,设计获得了一种具有较高的高阶模和基模损耗比同时允许一定程度弯曲的大模场光纤.结果表明:当内层孔直径为34 μm,外层孔直径为24 μm时,其基模束缚损耗为0.000 17 dB/m,而高阶模束缚损耗为1.39 dB/m;光纤的基模模场面积为2 150.9 μm2,当弯曲半径为1.2 m时,弯曲损耗为0.106 dB/m.  相似文献

提出了一种光纤波导折射率渐变的新型锥形(Taper)耦合器件,其原理是基于光纤中Ge缺陷在紫外光照射下而产生的光致折射率的变化。利用光纤在高压、低温下渗氢技术使单模光纤的光致折射率变化△n达6×10-3数量级;通过控制曝光条件就可以在光纤中产生一定规律的锥形结构,使单模光纤的模场半径由4.8μm缩小到3.2μm。由耦合波理论分析表明该器件具有较好的基模传输特性。  相似文献

We determine the effective mobility radius for fractal aggregate particles. Our method is to use static light scattering to measure the radius of gyration R(g) of the aggregates, and dynamic light scattering to measure the diffusion coefficient hence the mobility radius R(m). The range of our results can be specified by the Knudsen number Kn, which is the mean free path of the medium molecules divided by the radius of the aggregate. Our results apply to the entire range of Kn from the continuum limit (Kn=0) to the free molecular limit (Kn>1). In the continuum regime we find R(m)/R(g)=0.97+/-0.05 when the aggregate fractal dimension is D(f) approximately 2.15, and 0.70+/-0.05 when D(f) approximately 1.75. The latter result is independent of Kn for Kn < or approximately 1.3. The free molecular mobility goes as R(m)=aN(0.44+/-0.03), where a is the monomer radius and N is the number of monomers per aggregate. Since R(g) approximately aN(1/D(f)), R(m)/R(g) is not a constant when Kn is large. We find for all Kn that the functionality of R(m)/R(g) must always begin with the correct N-->1 limit, and this affects experimental observation.  相似文献

采用光纤波导三层模型,对有限包层半径光纤Bragg光栅导模有效折射率的改变进行了理论分析,结果表明:当包层直径小于16μm时,单模光纤Bragg光栅(纤芯直径为8.3μm)的导模有效折射率才开始发生明显变化.在包层外添加外包层,通过改变外包层的折射率可以实现对光栅Bragg反射波长的调谐,同时对不同芯子直径的光栅Bragg波长移动进行了数值计算.在保证光纤归一化频率不变的前提下,芯径越小Bragg波长调谐范围越大,当包层厚度为1μm时,芯径为a=2.2μm的光栅Bragg波长调谐范围约为3.9μm.  相似文献

We experimentally demonstrate series of identical two, three, and five coupled high Q-factor surface nanoscale axial photonics (SNAP) microresonators formed by periodic nanoscale variation of the optical fiber radius. These microresonators are fabricated with a 100 μm period along an 18 μm radius optical fiber. The axial FWHM of these microresonators is 80 μm and their Q-factor exceeds 10(7). In addition, we demonstrate a SNAP microresonator with the axial FWHM as small as 30 μm and the axial FWHM of the fundamental mode as small as 10 μm. These results may potentially enable the dense integration of record low loss coupled photonic microdevices on the optical fiber platform.  相似文献

A mid-infrared supercontinuum (SC) is generated in ZBLAN (ZrF4-BaF2-LaF3-AlF3-NaF...) fluoride fibers from amplified nanosecond laser diode pulses with a continuous spectrum from approximately 0.8 microm to beyond 4.5 microm. The SC has an average power of approximately 23 mW, a pump-to-SC power conversion efficiency exceeding 50%, and a spectral power density of approximately -20 dBm/nm over a large fraction of the spectrum. The SC generation is initiated by the breakup of nanosecond laser diode pulses into femtosecond pulses through modulation instability, and the spectrum is then broadened primarily through fiber nonlinearities in approximately 2-7 m lengths of ZBLAN fiber. The SC long-wavelength edge is consistent with the intrinsic ZBLAN material absorption.  相似文献

提出了一种新型三角芯抗弯曲大模场面积光子晶体光纤.该结构采用单一尺寸的圆形空气孔, 降低了制作难度.在波长1.064 μm处, 在平直状态和弯曲半径为30 cm时, 模场面积分别为1386 μm2和1153 μm2, 弯曲带来的模场面积减少量仅为16.85%. 当弯曲半径为30 cm时, 基模的损耗为0.087 dB/m, 二阶模的损耗大于1.5 dB/m, 大的损耗差有效保证了光纤单模运转.此外, 弯曲半径30 cm时, 弯曲方向角扩展至±180°, 光纤弯曲不再受弯曲方向的限制. 所设计的光纤结构具有大模场面积、小的模场面积减少量、 低的弯曲损耗以及低的弯曲方向敏感度等优势, 为小型化、集成化高功率激光传输及光纤激光器和放大器的研究奠定了基础. 关键词: 光子晶体光纤 大模场面积 抗弯曲 弯曲方向角  相似文献

Compression of high-power pulses of a cw mode-locked Nd: YAG laser is investigated using a short fiber (25 m) and a long fiber (1300 m) with a large mode area. With the short fiber, pulses of 4 ps duration and average output power of 3 W are obtained. The long fiber gives pulses of approximately 1 ps duration with excellent pulse quality. The wings of the optimized pulses are found to rise nearly exponentially over four orders of magnitude.  相似文献

研制出一种新型抗弯曲大模场面积石英光子晶体光纤. 利用光子晶体光纤结构设计的灵活性, 通过规划缺陷的位置及空气孔的尺寸, 实现了大模场面积单模及低弯曲损耗特性.应用建立的实际光子晶体光纤特性分析模型, 研究了研制光纤的模式特性和弯曲特性, 在波长1064 nm处, 平直状态下光纤的模场面积可以达到2812 μm2, 基模限制损耗为0.00024 dB/m, 高阶模限制损耗高于1.248 dB/m. 基模和高阶模之间的高传输损耗差, 保证了在获得大模场面积的同时实现单模传输. 弯曲半径和弯曲方向角所带来弯曲损耗变化的研究结果显示, 即使在弯曲半径小到5 cm时, 弯曲损耗也在10-3 dB/m量级以下, 而且在弯曲半径为30 cm时光纤可承受的弯曲方向角范围扩展至-60°–60°. 研制的光纤具有良好的低弯曲损耗特性, 可有效解决非对称结构所带来的光纤弯曲特性对弯曲方向角敏感的问题. 该光纤在高功率光纤激光器、放大器及高功率传输等技术领域具有重要的应用价值. 关键词: 光子晶体光纤 大模场面积 低弯曲损耗 弯曲方向角  相似文献

A cloud of laser-cooled 85Rb atoms is coupled through a magnetic funnel into a miniature waveguide formed by four current-carrying wires embedded in a silica fiber. The atom cloud has a approximately 100 &mgr;m radius within the fiber and propagates over cm distances. We study the coupling, propagation, and transverse distribution of atoms in the fiber, and find good agreement with theory. This prototype demonstrates the feasibility of miniature guides as a tool in the new field of integrated atom optics, leading to single-mode propagation of de Broglie waves and the possible preparation of 1D atom clouds.  相似文献

在使用光纤光栅实现皮秒级别时延的基础上,提出一种光纤光栅与单模光纤相结合的微秒级别级联结构,该结构可以实现中心波长1 550~1 553 nm范围内,间距为1 nm的窄波长反射型时延线,共1, 1.5, 2和2.5μs四种不同的时延。将单波长反射的啁啾布拉格光纤光栅与103 m单模光纤连接构成延迟单元,再利用光环形器将4个延迟单元级联并使用内半径为3 cm的光纤绕线盘,将四种延时单元的传输光纤进行整合。借助光纤光栅的反射镜作用,控制不同波长光信号通过不同的传输距离,从而达到时延目的。本文通过对啁啾布拉格光纤光栅的反射谱进行仿真分析,发现相邻反射谱的旁瓣会出现交叠现象,因此使用六个切趾函数对旁瓣滤除。结果显示:不同切趾函数的滤除效果也不同,能够完全滤除旁瓣并且对反射谱包络影响最小的是柯西切趾函数,经柯西切趾后能使不同波长光信号在对应中心波长1 nm范围内反射率达到1,而其他位置均为0。由于使用光纤绕线盘整合延迟单元传输光纤会产生一定损耗,因此对弯曲损耗进行仿真分析,结果表明:弯曲半径相同时,损耗与工作波长成正比;工作波长相同时,弯曲损耗与弯曲半径成反比。当弯曲半径大于2.9 cm时,弯曲...  相似文献

We demonstrate low-threshold supercontinuum generated in a highly nonlinear arsenic selenide chalcogenide nanowire with tailored dispersion. The tapered submicrometer chalcogenide fiber exhibits an ultrahigh nonlinearity, n(2) approximately 1.1x10(-17) m(2)/W and an effective mode area of 0.48 mum(2), yielding an effective nonlinearity of gamma approximately 93.4 W/m, which is over 80,000 times larger than standard silica single-mode fiber at a wavelength of approximately 1550 nm. This high nonlinearity, in conjunction with the engineered anomalous dispersion, enables low-threshold soliton fission leading to large spectral broadening at a dramatically reduced peak power of several watts, corresponding to picojoule energy.  相似文献

A design of a polarizing all-glass Bragg fiber with a microstructure core has been proposed for the first time. This design provides suppression of high-order modes and of one of the polarization states of the fundamental mode. The polarizing fiber was fabricated by a new, simple method based on a combination of the modified chemical vapor deposition (MCVD) process and the rod-in-tube technique. The mode field area has been found to be about 870 μm2 near λ=1064 nm. The polarization extinction ratio better than 13 dB has been observed over a 33% wavelength range (from 1 to 1.4 μm) after propagation in a 1.7 m fiber piece bent to a radius of 70 cm.  相似文献

A high-power, narrow-linewidth Yb fiber laser with a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) pumped difference frequency generation (DFG) in a periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) crystal was investigated in detail. A mid-IR power of approximately 2.3 microW at 3.3 micrometers with a slope efficiency of 0.85 mW/W2 was achieved. A Doppler-broadened absorption spectrum of CH4 at 3038.497 cm-1 (3.2911 micrometers) was obtained with a 0.1-m long-gas cell at a pressure of 133 Pa. The linewidth of the DFG source was evaluated to be less than 96 MHz from the observed spectral linewidth. Real-time monitoring of CH4 (approximately 1.78 ppm) in ambient air in a multipass cell which has an optical path length of 10 m was also demonstrated.  相似文献
