One of the main problems in the theory of quaternion quantum mechanics has been the construction of a tensor product of quaternion Hilbert modules. A solution to this problem is given by studying the tensor product of quaternion algebras (over the reals) and some of its quotient modules. Real, complex, and (covariant) quaternion scalar products are found in the tensor product spaces. Annihilationcreation operators are constructed, corresponding to the second quantization of the quaternion quantum theory with Bose-Einstein or Fermi-Dirac statistics. The gauge transformations of a tensor product vector and the gauge fields are studied. On Sabbatical leave from the School of Physics and Astronomy, Raymond and Beverly Sackler Faculty of Exact Sciences, Tel Aviv University, Ramat Aviv, Tel Aviv 69978, Israel. We introduce and investigate statistical convergence in topological and uniform spaces and show how this convergence can be applied to selection principles theory, function spaces and hyperspaces.  相似文献

We introduce pretty clean modules, extending the notion of clean modules by Dress, and show that pretty clean modules are sequentially Cohen–Macaulay. We also extend a theorem of Dress on shellable simplicial complexes to multicomplexes.  相似文献

Following the construction of tensor product spaces of quaternion Hilbert modules in our previous paper, we define the analogue of a ray (in a complex quantum mechanics) and the corresponding projection operator, and through these the notion of a state and density operators. We find that there is a one-to-one correspondence between a state and an equivalence class of vectors from the tensor product space, which gives us another method to define the gauge transformations. On sabbatical leave from the School of Physics and Astronomy, Raymond and Beverly Sackler Faculty of Exact Sciences, Tel Aviv University, Ramat Aviv, Tel Aviv 69978, Israel. Denote by σ the subspace of Hilbert space {(xi)?l2:xi=0 for all but finitely many i}. Examples of cell-like decompositions of σ are constructed that have decomposition spaces that are not homeomorphic to σ. At one extreme is a cell-like decomposition G of σ produced using ghastly finite dimensional examples such that the decomposition space σ?G contains no embedded 2-cell but (σ?GR is homeomorphic to σ. At the other extreme is a cell-like decomposition G of σ satisfying: (a) the nondegeneracy set NG={g?G:g≠point} consists of countably many arcs (necessarily tame); (b) the nondegeneracy set NG is a closed subset of the decomposition space σ?G; (c) each map f:B2σ?G of a 2-cell into σ?G can be approximated arbitrarily closely by an embedding; (d) σ?G is not homeomorphic to σ but (σ?GR is homeomorphic to σ. The fact that both conditions (a) and (b) can be satisfied (and have (d) hold) is directly attributable to σ’s incompleteness as a topological space.  相似文献

In this paper we prove that a surjection between metric compacta is a hereditary shape equivalence if and only if it is an inverse limit of trivial Q-bundle maps. This result was conjectured by T.B. Rushing. Near-homeomorphisms are instrumental to the proof.  相似文献

We provide a complete classification of all tilting modules and tilting classes over almost perfect domains, which generalizes the classifications of tilting modules and tilting classes over Dedekind and 1-Gorenstein domains. Assuming the APD is Noetherian, a complete classification of all cotilting modules is obtained (as duals of the tilting ones).  相似文献

The digital space Zn equipped with Efim Khalimsky's topology is a connected space. We study continuous functions ZnAZ, from a subset of Khalimsky n-space to the Khalimsky line. We give necessary and sufficient condition for such a function to be extendable to a continuous function ZnZ. We classify the subsets A of the digital plane such that every continuous function AZ can be extended to a continuous function on the whole plane.  相似文献

In earlier work, Jockusch, Propp, and Shor proved a theorem describing the limiting shape of the boundary between the uniformly tiled corners of a random tiling of an Aztec diamond and the more unpredictable ‘temperate zone’ in the interior of the region. The so-called arctic circle theorem made precise a phenomenon observed in random tilings of large Aztec diamonds. Here we examine a related combinatorial model called groves. Created by Carroll and Speyer as combinatorial interpretations for Laurent polynomials given by the cube recurrence, groves have observable frozen regions which we describe precisely via asymptotic analysis of a generating function. Our approach also provides another way to prove the arctic circle theorem for Aztec diamonds.  相似文献

This paper shows that the compact completely regular coreflection in the category of frames is given by the frame of Jacobson radical ideals of the ring RL of real-valued continuous functions on L, as an alternative to its familiar representations in terms of (i) the l-ideals of RL as lattice-ordered ring or (ii) the ideals of the bounded part of RL which are closed in the usual uniform topology. Further, in analogy with this, the compact zero-dimensional coreflection will also be described in terms of ring ideals, this time of the ring ZL of integer-valued continuous functions on L.  相似文献

The disconnection number d(X) is the least number of points in a connected topological graph X such that removal of d(X) points will disconnect X (Nadler, 1993 [6]). Let Dn denote the set of all homeomorphism classes of topological graphs with disconnection number n. The main result characterizes the members of Dn+1 in terms of four possible operations on members of Dn. In addition, if X and Y are topological graphs and X is a subspace of Y with no endpoints, then d(X)?d(Y) and Y obtains from X with exactly d(Y)−d(X) operations. Some upper and lower bounds on the size of Dn are discussed. The algorithm of the main result has been implemented to construct the classes Dn for n?8, to estimate the size of D9, and to obtain information on certain subclasses such as non-planar graphs (n?9) and regular graphs (n?10).  相似文献

The categorical theory of closure operators is used to introduce and study separated, complete and compact objects with respect to the Zariski closure operator naturally defined in any category X(A,Ω) obtained by a given complete category X (endowed with a proper factorization structure for morphisms) and by a given X-algebra (A,Ω) by forming the affine X-objects modelled by (A,Ω). Several basic examples are provided.  相似文献

For a Tychonoff space X, we use ↓USC(X) and ↓C(X) to denote the families of the regions below all upper semi-continuous maps and of the regions below all continuous maps from X to I=[0,1], respectively. In this paper, we consider the spaces ↓USC(X) and ↓C(X) topologized as subspaces of the hyperspace Cld(X×I) consisting of all non-empty closed sets in X×I endowed with the Vietoris topology. We shall prove that ↓USC(X) is homeomorphic (≈) to the Hilbert cube Q=ω[−1,1] if and only if X is an infinite compact metric space. And we shall prove that (↓USC(X),↓C(X))≈(Q,c0), where , if and only if ↓C(X)≈c0 if and only if X is a compact metric space and the set of isolated points is not dense in X.  相似文献

Let F be a field, n a non-negative integer, λ a partition of n and Sλ the corresponding Specht module for the Iwahori-Hecke algebra HF,q(Sn). James and Mathas conjecture a necessary and sufficient condition on λ for Sλ to be irreducible. We prove the sufficiency of this condition in the case where F has infinite characteristic and also in the case where q=1.  相似文献

We study the space of pictures of a graph G in complex projective d-space. The main result is that the homology groups (with integer coefficients) of are completely determined by the Tutte polynomial of G. One application is a criterion in terms of the Tutte polynomial for independence in the d-parallel matroids studied in combinatorial rigidity theory. For certain special graphs called orchards, the picture space is smooth and has the structure of an iterated projective bundle. We give a Borel presentation of the cohomology ring of the picture space of an orchard, and use this presentation to develop an analogue of the classical Schubert calculus.  相似文献
