Malliavin's celebrated theorem on the failure of spectral synthesis for the Fourier algebra A(G) on nondiscrete abelian groups was strengthened to give failure of weak synthesis by Parthasarathy and Varma. We extend this to nonabelian groups by proving that weak synthesis holds for A(G) if and only if G is discrete. We give the injection theorem and the inverse projection theorem for weak X-spectral synthesis, as well as a condition for the union of two weak X-spectral sets to be weak X-spectral for an A(G)-submodule X of VN(G). Relations between weak X-synthesis in A(G) and A(G×G) and the Varopoulos algebra V(G) are explored. The concept of operator synthesis was introduced by Arveson. We extend several recent investigations on operator synthesis by defining and studying, for a V(G)-submodule M of B(L2(G)), sets of weak M-operator synthesis. Relations between X-Ditkin sets and M-operator Ditkin sets and between weak X-spectral synthesis and weak M-operator synthesis are explored.  相似文献

We consider a Dirac-type operator DP on a vector bundle V over a compact Riemannian manifold (M,g) with a non-empty boundary. The operator DP is specified by a boundary condition P(u|M)=0 where P is a projector which may be a non-local, i.e., a pseudodifferential operator. We assume the existence of a chirality operator which decomposes L2(M,V) into two orthogonal subspaces X+X. Under certain conditions, the operator DP restricted to X+ and X defines a pair of Fredholm operators which maps X+X and XX+ correspondingly, giving rise to a superstructure on V. In this paper we consider the questions of determining the index of DP and the reconstruction of and DP from the boundary data on ∂M. The data used is either the Cauchy data, i.e., the restrictions to ∂M×R+ of the solutions to the hyperbolic Dirac equation, or the boundary spectral data, i.e., the set of the eigenvalues and the boundary values of the eigenfunctions of DP. We obtain formulae for the index and prove uniqueness results for the inverse boundary value problems. We apply the obtained results to the classical Dirac-type operator in M×C4, MR3.  相似文献

The categorical theory of closure operators is used to introduce and study separated, complete and compact objects with respect to the Zariski closure operator naturally defined in any category X(A,Ω) obtained by a given complete category X (endowed with a proper factorization structure for morphisms) and by a given X-algebra (A,Ω) by forming the affine X-objects modelled by (A,Ω). Several basic examples are provided.  相似文献

For AL(X), BL(Y) and CL(Y,X) we denote by MC the operator defined on XY by . In this article, we study defect set DΣ=(Σ(A)∪Σ(B))?Σ(MC) for different spectra including the spectrum, the essential spectrum, Weyl spectrum and the approximate point spectrum. We then apply the obtained results to the stability of such spectra (DΣ=∅) and the classes of operators C for which stability holds of MC using local spectral theory.  相似文献

A morphism of a category which is simultaneously an epimorphism and a monomorphism is called a bimorphism. We give characterizations of monomorphisms (respectively, epimorphisms) in pro-category pro-C, provided C has direct sums (respectively, pushouts).Let E(C) (respectively, M(C)) be the subcategory of C whose morphisms are epimorphisms (respectively, monomorphisms) of C. We give conditions in some categories C for an object X of pro-C to be isomorphic to an object of pro-E(C) (respectively, pro-M(C)).A related class of objects of pro-C consists of X such that there is an epimorphism XPOb(C) (respectively, a monomorphism POb(C)→X). Characterizing those objects involves conditions analogous (respectively, dual) to the Mittag-Leffler property. One should expect that the object belonging to both classes ought to be stable. It is so in the case of pro-groups. The natural environment to discuss those questions are balanced categories with epimorphic images. The last part of the paper deals with that question in pro-homotopy.  相似文献

A finite poset X carries a natural structure of a topological space. Fix a field k, and denote by Db(X) the bounded derived category of sheaves of finite dimensional k-vector spaces over X. Two posets X and Y are said to be derived equivalent if Db(X) and Db(Y) are equivalent as triangulated categories. We give explicit combinatorial properties of X which are invariant under derived equivalence; among them are the number of points, the Z-congruency class of the incidence matrix, and the Betti numbers. We also show that taking opposites and products preserves derived equivalence. For any closed subset YX, we construct a strongly exceptional collection in Db(X) and use it to show an equivalence Db(X)?Db(A) for a finite dimensional algebra A (depending on Y). We give conditions on X and Y under which A becomes an incidence algebra of a poset. We deduce that a lexicographic sum of a collection of posets along a bipartite graph S is derived equivalent to the lexicographic sum of the same collection along the opposite .This construction produces many new derived equivalences of posets and generalizes other well-known ones.As a corollary we show that the derived equivalence class of an ordinal sum of two posets does not depend on the order of summands. We give an example that this is not true for three summands.  相似文献

For a K3 surface X and its bounded derived category of coherent sheaves D(X), we have the notion of stability conditions on D(X) in the sense of T. Bridgeland. In this paper, we show that the moduli stack of semistable objects in D(X) with a fixed numerical class and a phase is represented by an Artin stack of finite type over C. Then following D. Joyce's work, we introduce the invariants counting semistable objects in D(X), and show that the invariants are independent of a choice of a stability condition.  相似文献

We investigate injectivity in a comma-category C/B using the notion of the “object of sections” S(f) of a given morphism f:XB in C. We first obtain that f:XB is injective in C/B if and only if the morphism 〈1X,f〉:XX×B is a section in C/B and the object S(f) of sections of f is injective in C. Using this approach, we study injective objects f with respect to the class of embeddings in the categories ContL/B (AlgL/B) of continuous (algebraic) lattices over B. As a result, we obtain both topological (every fiber of f has maximum and minimum elements and f is open and closed) and algebraic (f is a complete lattice homomorphism) characterizations.  相似文献

If A is a sectorial operator on a Banach space X, then the space C([0,1];(X,D(A))θ,∞) is a subspace of the interpolation space (C([0,1];X),C([0,1];D(A)))θ,∞. The inclusion is strict in general.  相似文献

Let A be a Banach algebra with unity I and M be a unital Banach A-bimodule. A family of continuous additive mappings D=(δi)iN from A into M is called a higher derivable mapping at X, if δn(AB)=∑i+j=nδi(A)δj(B) for any A,BA with AB=X. In this paper, we show that D is a Jordan higher derivation if D is a higher derivable mapping at an invertible element X. As an application, we also get that every invertible operator in a nontrivial nest algebra is a higher all-derivable point.  相似文献

Let X be an infinite-dimensional real reflexive Banach space such that X and its dual X* are locally uniformly convex. Suppose that T: X?D(T) → 2 X * is a maximal monotone multi-valued operator and C: X?D(C) → X* is a generalized pseudomonotone quasibounded operator with L ? D(C), where L is a dense subspace of X. Applying a recent degree theory of Kartsatos and Skrypnik, we establish the existence of an eigensolution to the nonlinear inclusion 0 ∈ T x + λ C x , with a regularization method by means of the duality operator. Moreover, possible branches of eigensolutions to the above inclusion are discussed. Furthermore, we give a surjectivity result about the operator λT + C when λ is not an eigenvalue for the pair (T, C), T being single-valued and densely defined.  相似文献

Abstract

Let X be an arbitrary category with an (E, M)-factorization structure for sinks. A notion of constant morphism that depends on a chosen class of monomorphisms was previously used to provide a generalization of the connectedness-disconnectedness Galois connection (also called torsion-torsion free in algebraic contexts). This Galois connection was shown to factor through the class of all closure operators on X with respect to M. Here, properties and implications of this factorization are investigated. In particular, it is shown that this factorization can be further factored. Examples are provided.  相似文献

Given a regular epimorphism f:X?Y in an exact homological category C, and a pair (U,V) of kernel subobjects of X, we show that the quotient (f(U)∩f(V))/f(UV) is always abelian. When C is nonpointed, i.e. only exact protomodular, the translation of the previous result is that, given any pair (R,S) of equivalence relations on X, the difference mappingδ:Y/f(RS)?Y/(f(R)∩f(S)) has an abelian kernel relation. This last result actually holds true in any exact Mal'cev category. Setting Y=X/T, this result says that the difference mapping determined by the inclusion T∪(RS)?(TR)∩(TS) has an abelian kernel relation, which casts a new light on the congruence distributive property.  相似文献

For AB(X), BB(Y) and CB(Y,X), let MC be the operator defined on XY by . In this paper, we study defect set (Σ(A)∪Σ(B))?Σ(MC), where Σ is the Browder spectrum, the essential approximate point spectrum and Browder essential approximate point spectrum. We then give application for Weyl's and Browder's theorems.  相似文献

Let X be an infinite dimensional real reflexive Banach space with dual space X and GX, open and bounded. Assume that X and X are locally uniformly convex. Let T:XD(T)→2X be maximal monotone and strongly quasibounded, S:XD(S)→X maximal monotone, and C:XD(C)→X strongly quasibounded w.r.t. S and such that it satisfies a generalized (S+)-condition w.r.t. S. Assume that D(S)=LD(T)∩D(C), where L is a dense subspace of X, and 0∈T(0),S(0)=0. A new topological degree theory is introduced for the sum T+S+C, with degree mapping d(T+S+C,G,0). The reason for this development is the creation of a useful tool for the study of a class of time-dependent problems involving three operators. This degree theory is based on a degree theory that was recently developed by Kartsatos and Skrypnik just for the single-valued sum S+C, as above.  相似文献

Let D be an integral domain. A saturated multiplicative subset S of D is an almost splitting set if, for each 0≠dD, there exists a positive integer n=n(d) such that dn=st for some sS and tD which is v-coprime to each element of S. We show that every upper to zero in D[X] contains a primary element if and only if D?{0} is an almost splitting set in D[X], if and only if D is a UMT-domain and Cl(D[X]) is torsion. We also prove that D[X] is an almost GCD-domain if and only if D is an almost GCD-domain and Cl(D[X]) is torsion. Using this result, we construct an integral domain D such that Cl(D) is torsion, but Cl(D[X]) is not torsion.  相似文献

Let X be a real reflexive Banach space with dual X. Let L:XD(L)→X be densely defined, linear and maximal monotone. Let T:XD(T)→X2, with 0∈D(T) and 0∈T(0), be strongly quasibounded and maximal monotone, and C:XD(C)→X bounded, demicontinuous and of type (S+) w.r.t. D(L). A new topological degree theory has been developed for the sum L+T+C. This degree theory is an extension of the Berkovits-Mustonen theory (for T=0) and an improvement of the work of Addou and Mermri (for T:XX2 bounded). Unbounded maximal monotone operators with are strongly quasibounded and may be used with the new degree theory.  相似文献

Let (X,τ) be a topological space and let ρ be a metric defined on X. We shall say that (X,τ) is fragmented by ρ if whenever ε>0 and A is a nonempty subset of X there is a τ-open set U such that UA≠∅ and ρ−diam(UA)<ε. In this paper we consider the notion of fragmentability, and its generalisation σ-fragmentability, in the setting of topological groups and metric-valued function spaces. We show that in the presence of Baireness fragmentability of a topological group is very close to metrizability of that group. We also show that for a compact Hausdorff space X, σ-fragmentability of (C(X),‖⋅) implies that the space Cp(X;M) of all continuous functions from X into a metric space M, endowed with the topology of pointwise convergence on X, is fragmented by a metric whose topology is at least as strong as the uniform topology on C(X;M). The primary tool used is that of topological games.  相似文献

We prove that the operator G, the closure of the first-order differential operator −d/dt+D(t) on L2(R,X), is Fredholm if and only if the not well-posed equation u(t)=D(t)u(t), tR, has exponential dichotomies on R+ and R and the ranges of the dichotomy projections form a Fredholm pair; moreover, the index of this pair is equal to the Fredholm index of G. Here X is a Hilbert space, D(t)=A+B(t), A is the generator of a bi-semigroup, B(⋅) is a bounded piecewise strongly continuous operator-valued function. Also, we prove some perturbations results and consider various examples of not well-posed problems.  相似文献

Let C(X,T) be the group of continuous functions of a compact Hausdorff space X to the unit circle of the complex plane T with the pointwise multiplication as the composition law. We investigate how the structure of C(X,T) determines the topology of X. In particular, which group isomorphisms H between the groups C(X,T) and C(Y,T) imply the existence of a continuous map h of Y into X such that H is canonically represented by h. Among other results, it is proved that C(X,T) determines X module a biseparating group isomorphism and, when X is first countable, the automatic continuity and representation as Banach-Stone maps for biseparating group isomorphisms is also obtained.  相似文献
