The influence of ultrasoundabsorbing coatings on stability of hypersonic boundary layers is considered. Two types of coatings were used in experiments: feltmetal with a random porous microstructure and a sheet perforated by blind cylindrical microchannels. The experiments were performed in a wind tunnel at a Mach number M = 5.95 on sharp cones with a 7° apex halfangle. Evolution of natural disturbances and artificially induced wave packets in the boundary layer was studied with the help of hotwire anemometry. Spatial characteristics of artificial disturbances were obtained. It is demonstrated that such coatings exert a stabilizing effect on secondmode disturbances.  相似文献

This paper discusses formulation of the total problem of flow of an incompressible liquid over a body, with formation of a closed stationary separation zone as Re . The scheme used is based on the method of matched asymptotic expansions [1]. Following [1], it is postulated that the separated zone is developed (i.e., it is not infinitely fragmented and does not vanish as Re ), and the flow inside it has a definite degree of regularity with respect to Re. With these hypotheses we can use the Prandtl-Batchelor theorem [2], which states that, in the limit as Re , a region of circulating flow becomes vortex flow of an inviscid liquid with constant vorticity . Therefore, a basis for constructing matched asymptotic expansions is the vortex-potential problem (the problem of determining a stream function , satisfying the equation = 0 in the region of translational motion and the equation = in a certain region, unknowna priori, of circulating motion). In the general case the solution of the vortex-potential problem depends on two parameters: the total pressure po and the vorticity in the separated zone. These parameters appear in the condition for matching the solutions of the first and second boundary-layer approximations (at the boundary of the separated zone for the end Re values) with the corresponding solutions for the inviscid flow. It is shown in the present paper that the conditions for matching the cyclic boundary layer with the external translational flow are the same additional relations which allow us to close the total problem. Thus, in using the method of matched asymptotic expansions to solve the problem of flow over a body with closed stationary separation zones one must simultaneously consider no less than two approximations.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 28–37, March–April, 1978.The authors thank G. A method is proposed for calculating hypersonic ideal-gas flow past blunt-edged delta wings with aspect ratios = 100–200. Systematic wing flow calculations are carried out on the intervals 6 M 20, 0 20, 60 80; the results are analyzed in terms of hypersonic similarity parameters.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 175–179, September–October, 1990.  相似文献

In this work we consider transport in ordered and disordered porous media using singlephase flow in rigid porous mediaas an example. We defineorder anddisorder in terms of geometrical integrals that arise naturally in the method of volume averaging, and we show that dependent variables for ordered media must generally be defined in terms of thecellular average. The cellular average can be constructed by means of a weighting function, thus transport processes in both ordered and disordered media can be treated with a single theory based on weighted averages. Part I provides some basic ideas associated with ordered and disordered media, weighted averages, and the theory of distributions. In Part II a generalized averaging procedure is presented and in Part III the closure problem is developed and the theory is compared with experiment. Parts IV and V provide some geometrical results for computer generated porous media.Roman Letters A interfacial area of the- interface contained within the macroscopic region, m2 - Ae area of entrances and exits for the-phase contained within the macroscopic system, m2 - g gravity vector, m/s2 - I unit tensor - K traditional Darcy's law permeability tensor, m2 - L general characteristic length for volume averaged quantities, m - characteristic length (pore scale) for the-phase - (y) weighting function - m(–y) (y), convolution product weighting function - v special weighting function associated with the traditional averaging volume - N unit normal vector pointing from the-phase toward the-phase - p pressure in the-phase, N/m2 - p0 reference pressure in the-phase, N/m2 - p traditional intrinsic volume averaged pressure, N/m2 - r0 radius of a spherical averaging volume, m - r position vector, m - r position vector locating points in the-phase, m - averaging volume, m3 - V volume of the-phase contained in the averaging volume, m3 - V cell volume of a unit cell, m3 - v velocity vector in the-phase, m/s - v traditional superficial volume averaged velocity, m/s - x position vector locating the centroid of the averaging volume or the convolution product weighting function, m - y position vector relative to the centroid, m - y position vector locating points in the-phase relative to the centroid, m Greek Letters indicator function for the-phase - Dirac distribution associated with the- interface - V/V, volume average porosity - mass density of the-phase, kg/m3 - viscosity of the-phase, Ns/m2  相似文献

After dense nonaqueous phase liquids (DNAPLs) travel downward through the subsurface, they typically come to rest on fractured bedrock or tight clay layers, which become additional pathways for DNAPL migration. DNAPLs trapped in fractures are continuous sources of groundwater contamination. To decide whether they can be left in place to dissolve or volatilize, or must be removed with active treatment, the movement of DNAPLs in fractured media must be understood at a fundamental level. This work presents numerical simulations of the movements of DNAPLs in naturally fractured media under twophase flow conditions. The flow is modeled using a multiphase network flow model, used to develop predictive capabilities for DNAPL flow in fractures. Capillary pressure–saturation–relative permeability curves are developed for twophase flow in fractures. Comparisons are made between the behavior in crystalline, almost impermeable rocks (e.g. granite) and more permeable rocks like sandstone, to understand the effects of the rock matrix on the displacement of the DNAPLs in the fracture. For capillarydominated flow, displacements occur as a sequence of jumps, as the invading phase overcomes the capillary pressure at downgradient apertures. Preferential channels for the displacement of nonaqueous phase are formed due to high fracture aperture in some regions.  相似文献

The physics and biology that found psychoanalysis account for discontinuous experience only in the presence of nonmeasurable, metaphysical operators; these include the ego and its subsystems as well as biological experience inherited through Lamarckian principles. Complex, self-organizing systems, however, can link biology to experience without metaphysics. They can also account for psychoanalytically relevant behaviors without appealing to stable internal representations. These behaviors include what W. R. Bion called transformation in O and its corollary, the appearance of the selected fact. By dimensionally exploding the double-headed arrow that he used to link the states Ps and D in his model for thinking (Ps D), we can generate a space that is, at once, psychoanalytically imaginal and dynamically coadapting. Isomorphic to D. W. Winnicott's transitional space, it is self-organizing. It is describable according to dynamics formulated by W J. Freeman, S. Kauffman and C. Langton and it can generate instantaneous conscious contents by way of a selective process analogous to spatio-temporal binding. As a whole, this model supports a clinical stance advanced by D. W. Winnicott as play, within transitional space.  相似文献

This paper considers a model of a plastically compressible porous medium with a cylindricaltype yield condition and its associated constitutive relations, which ensure independent mechanisms of shear and compaction of the porous material. This allows one to use the wellknown theorems of plastic theory to analyze plastically compressible media and obtain analytical solutions for a number of boundaryvalue problems, including those taking into account conditions on strongdiscontinuity surfaces. Results from fullscale studies of the structural periodicity of noncompact materials using wavelet analysis were employed to choose a physical model for a porous body and determine the properties and dimensions of a representative volume. The problem of extrusion of a porous material through a conical matrix was solved.  相似文献

The detailed analysis of the dynamical process of coin tossing is made. Through calculations, it is illustrated how and why the result is extremely sensitive to the initial conditions. It is also shown that, as the initial height of the mass center of the coin increases, the final configuration, i.e. head or tail, becomes more and more sensitive to the initial parameters (the initial velocity angular velocity, and the initial orientation), the coefficient of the air drag, and the energy absorption factor of the surface on which the coin bounces. If we keep the head upward initially but allow a small range for the change of some other initial parameters, the frequency that the final configuration is head, would be 1 if the initial height h of the mass center is sufficiently small, and would be clo to 1/2 if h is sufficiently large. An interesting question is how this frequency changes continuously from 1 to 1/2 as h increases. Detailed calculations show that such a transition is very similar to the transition from laminar to turbulent flows. A basic difference between the transition stage and the completely random stage is indicated: In the completely random stage, the deterministic process of the individual case is extremely sensitive to the initial conditions and the dynamical parameters, out the statistical properties of the ensemble are insensitive to the small changes of the initial conditions and the dynamical parameters. On the contrary, in the transition stage, both the deterministic process of the individual case and the statistical properties of the ensemble are sensitive to the initial conditions and the dynamical parameters. The mechanism for this feature of the transition stage is the existence of the long-train structure in the parameter space. The illuminations of this analysis on some other random phenomena are discussed.  相似文献

We study the modelling of purely conductive heat transfer between a porous medium and an external fluid within the framework of the volume averaging method. When the temperature field for such a system is classically determined by coupling the macroscopic heat conduction equation in the porous medium domain to the heat conduction equation in the external fluid domain, it is shown that the phase average temperature cannot be predicted without a generally negligible error due to the fact that the boundary conditions at the interface between the two media are specified at the macroscopic level.Afterwards, it is presented an alternative modelling by means of a single equation involving an effective thermal conductivity which is a function of point inside the interfacial region. The theoretical results are illustrated by means of some numerical simulations for a model porous medium. In particular, temperature fields at the microscopic level are presented.Roman Letters sf interfacial area of thes-f interface contained within the macroscopic system m2 - A sf interfacial area of thes-f interface contained within the averaging volume m2 - C p mass fraction weighted heat capacity, kcal/kg/K - g vector that maps to s , m - h vector that maps to f , m - K eff effective thermal conductivity tensor, kcal/m s K - l s,l f microscopic characteristic length m - L macroscopic characteristic length, m - n fs outwardly directed unit normal vector for thef-phase at thef-s interface - n outwardly directed unit normal vector at the dividing surface. - R 0 REV characteristic length, m - T i macroscopic temperature at the interface, K - error on the external fluid temperature due to the macroscopic boundary condition, K - T * macroscopic temperature field obtained by solving the macroscopic Equation (3), K - V averaging volume, m3 - V s,V f volume of the considered phase within the averaging volume, m3. - mp volume of the porous medium domain, m3 - ex volume of the external fluid domain, m3 - s , f volume of the considered phase within the volume of the macroscopic system, m3 - dividing surface, m2 - x, z spatial coordinates Greek Letters s, f volume fraction - ratio of the effective thermal conductivity to the external fluid thermal conductivity - * macroscopic thermal conductivity (single equation model) kcal/m s K - s, f microscopic thermal conductivities, kcal/m s K - spatial average density, kg/m3 - microscopic temperature, K - * microscopic temperature corresponding toT *, K - spatial deviation temperature K - error in the temperature due to the macroscopic boundary conditions, K - * i macroscopic temperature at the interface given by the single equation model, K - spatial average - s , f intrinsic phase average.  相似文献

Experimental investigations of the influence of streamwise streaky structures on turbulization of a circular laminar jet are described. The qualitative characteristics of jet evolution are studied by smoke visualization of the flow pattern in the jet and by filming the transverse and longitudinal sections of the jet illuminated by the laser sheet with image stroboscopy. It is shown that the streaky structures can be generated directly at the nozzle exit, and their interaction with the Kelvin–Helmholtz ring vortices leads to emergence of azimuthal beams ( structures) by a mechanism similar to threedimensional distortion of the twodimensional Tollmien–Schlichting wave at the nonlinear stage of the classical transition in nearwall flows. The effect of the jetexhaustion velocity and acoustic action on jet turbulization is considered.  相似文献

Summary For the elementary (finite or infinitesimal) constituents of the structure are assumed generalized stress-strain relations which satisfy the condition of normality but which may exhibit work-softening, concavity of yield surfaces, variation of elastic coefficients with stress and/or plastic strain. The usual phenomena of geometric instability are excluded. Sufficient conditions are formulated for overall stability in spite of the presence of unstable elements, and for uniqueness of the incremental boundary-values problem. Conditions are discussed with a view to applications and expressed in terms of positive definiteness of appropriate quadratic forms. Finally, yield surfaces and flow laws for the structure are examined, and among other things their necessary association is shown.

Summary This paper deals with the problem of line radiation in conditions of non thermodynamic equilibrium and applies the results obtained to the study of the imprisonment of resonance radiation. It was found that the excited level, and by consequence the resonance radiation, decays in two ways in competition each other: one is a diffusive decay, due to the fact that the gas is generally very thick for frequencies near the center of the absorption line, and the other is an exponential decay due to the far wings of the absorption coefficient, where the gas is optically thin.

The heattransfer processes in a supersonic spatial flow around a spherically blunted cone with allowance for heat overflow along the longitudinal and circumferential coordinates and injection of a coolant gas are studied numerically. The prospects of using highly heatconducting materials and injection of a coolant gas for reduction of the maximum temperatures at the body surface are demonstrated. The solutions of the direct and inverse problems in one, two, and threedimensional formulations for different shell materials are compared. The error of the thinwall method in determining the heat flux on the heatloaded boundary of the body is estimated.  相似文献

The elastoplastic strain of metals being formed when they melt under the effect of a point heat source with a pulse duration greater than 10–6 sec is considered in this paper. The time development of the plastic strain and pressure domains in the melt is investigated. It is shown that two plastic strain domains occur during the interaction under consideration: a relatively broad domain of mechanical influence and a narrow domain of thermal influence. The stress-strain distributions as well as the hydrostatic pressure in the fluid are determined by a quasistationary temperature distribution starting with times corresponding to half (of the quasistationary) the value of the melt radius X 0.5. It is shown that the dimensions of the weak and strong plastic strain domains formed by heat and acoustic waves grow continuously to the quasistationary values, while the hydrostatic pressure in the fluid reaches the maximum value for X 0.3...0.4. The ratio between the radii of the plastic strain zones and of the liquid bath for a quasistationary temperature distribution in the first domain lies within the range 10–50, and does not exceed 1.7 for Cu, Ni, and Fe in the second. The anomalous nature of the development of the strong plastic strain domain in Al, because of migration of the metal grain boundaries to result in collapse of the domain for the values X 0.5 accompanied by a jumplike diminution in the hydrostatic pressure in the fluid, is noted.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 3, pp. 129–140, May–June, 1976.  相似文献

Dynamic material functions of polymeric systems are calculated via a defect-diffusion model. The random motion of defects is modelled by a fractaltime stochastic process. It is shown that the dynamic functions of polymeric solutions can be approximated by the defect-diffusion process of the mixed type. The relaxation modulus of Kohlrausch type is obtained for a fractal-time defect-diffusion process, and it is shown that this modulus is capable of portraying the dynamic behavior of typical viscoelastic solutions. The Fourier transforms of the Kohlrausch function are calculated to obtain and. Stokes flow through a rigid porous medium is analyzed in terms of the method of volume averaging. The traditional averaging procedure leads to an equation of motion and a continuity equation expressed in terms of the volume-averaged pressure and velocity. The equation of motion contains integrals involving spatial deviations of the pressure and velocity, the Brinkman correction, and other lower-order terms. The analysis clearly indicates why the Brinkman correction should not be used to accommodate ano slip condition at an interface between a porous medium and a bounding solid surface. The presence of spatial deviations of the pressure and velocity in the volume-averaged equations of motion gives rise to aclosure problem, and representations for the spatial deviations are derived that lead to Darcy's law. The theoretical development is not restricted to either homogeneous or spatially periodic porous media; however, the problem ofabrupt changes in the structure of a porous medium is not considered.Roman Letters A interfacial area of the - interface contained within the macroscopic system, m2 - A e area of entrances and exits for the -phase contained within the macroscopic system, m2 - A interfacial area of the - interface contained within the averaging volume, m2 - A * interfacial area of the - interface contained within a unit cell, m2 - Ae area of entrances and exits for the -phase contained within a unit cell, m2 - B second order tensor used to represent the velocity deviation (see Equation (3.30)) - b vector used to represent the pressure deviation (see Equation (3.31)), m–1 - d distance between two points at which the pressure is measured, m - g gravity vector, m/s2 - K Darcy's law permeability tensor, m2 - L characteristic length scale for volume averaged quantities, m - characteristic length scale for the -phase (see Figure 2), m - characteristic length scale for the -phase (see Figure 2), m - n unit normal vector pointing from the -phase toward the -phase (n =–n ) - n e unit normal vector for the entrances and exits of the -phase contained within a unit cell - p pressure in the -phase, N/m2 - p intrinsic phase average pressure for the -phase, N/m2 - p p , spatial deviation of the pressure in the -phase, N/m2 - r 0 radius of the averaging volume and radius of a capillary tube, m - v velocity vector for the -phase, m/s - v phase average velocity vector for the -phase, m/s - v intrinsic phase average velocity vector for the -phase, m/s - v v , spatial deviation of the velocity vector for the -phase, m/s - V averaging volume, m3 - V volume of the -phase contained within the averaging volume, m3 Greek Letters V/V, volume fraction of the -phase - mass density of the -phase, kg/m3 - viscosity of the -phase, Nt/m2 - arbitrary function used in the representation of the velocity deviation (see Equations (3.11) and (B1)), m/s - arbitrary function used in the representation of the pressure deviation (see Equations (3.12) and (B2)), s–1  相似文献

In this paper, we have proved several theorems which guarantee that the Liénard equation has at least one or n limit cycles without using the traditional assmuption G(±) =+. Thus some results in [3–5] are extended. The limit cycles can he located by our theorems. Theorems 3 and 4 give sufficient conditions for the existence of n limit cycles having no need of the conditions that the function F(x) is odd or nth order compatible with each other or nth order contained in each other.  相似文献

Nonstationary currents are examined in a dense magnetized plasma with 1, in which energy release and heat loss by thermal conduction and radiation are possible. Solutions are found in two limiting cases: ¦f¦ ¦ div (T)¦ and ¦f¦ ¦ div(T)¦ (f is the radiation intensity, is the coefficient of heat conduction, and T is the temperature). In the first case a solution was obtained of some problems of the cooling and heating of a plasma illustrated in part by the evolution in time of the temperature profile in the boundary layer. In the second case an isomorphic solution was found for an arbitrary dependence of the coefficient of heat conduction on the temperature, pressure, and magnetic field.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, No. 1, pp. 3–8, January–February, 1972.The author is grateful to G.
