Let (R,m,k) be an equidimensional excellent local ring of characteristic p>0. The aim of this paper is to show that ?R(q?/q) does not depend on the choice of parameter ideal q provided R is an F-injective local ring that is F-rational on the punctured spectrum.  相似文献

Among the several types of closures of an idealI that have been defined and studied in the past decades, the integral closureĪ has a central place being one of the earliest and most relevant. Despite this role, it is often a difficult challenge to describe it concretely once the generators ofI are known. Our aim in this note is to show that in a broad class of ideals their radicals play a fundamental role in testing for integral closedness, and in caseIĪ, ✓I is still helpful in finding some fresh new elements inĪ/I. Among the classes of ideals under consideration are: complete intersection ideals of codimension two, generic complete intersection ideals, and generically Gorenstein ideals. Let I denote an ideal of a local Gorenstein ring . Then we show that the local cohomology module , c = height I, is indecomposable if and only if V(I d ) is connected in codimension one. Here I d denotes the intersection of the highest dimensional primary components of I. This is a partial extension of a result shown by Hochster and Huneke in the case I the maximal ideal. Moreover there is an analysis of connectedness properties in relation to various aspects of local cohomology. Among others we show that the endomorphism ring of is a local Noetherian ring if dim R/I  =  1.  相似文献

Definitions for heterogeneous congruences and heterogeneous ideals on a Boolean module $\mathcal {M}$ are given and the respective lattices $\mathrm{Cong}\mathcal {M}$ and $\mathrm{Ide}\mathcal {M}$ are presented. A characterization of the simple bijective Boolean modules is achieved differing from that given by Brink in a homogeneous approach. We construct the smallest and the greatest modular congruence having the same Boolean part. The same is established for modular ideals. The notions of kernel of a modular congruence and the congruence induced by a modular ideal are introduced to describe an isomorphism between $\mathrm{Cong}\mathcal {M}$ and $\mathrm{Ide}\mathcal {M}$. This isomorphism leads us to conclude that the class of the Boolean module is ideal determined.  相似文献

The problem of counting ramified covers of a Riemann surface up to homeomorphism was proposed by Hurwitz in the late 1800’s. This problem translates combinatorially into factoring a permutation of specified cycle type, with certain conditions on the cycle types of the factors, such as minimality and transitivity. Goulden and Jackson have given a proof for the number of minimal, transitive factorizations of a permutation into transpositions. This proof involves a partial differential equation for the generating series, called the Join-Cut equation. Recently, Bousquet-Mélou and Schaeffer have found the number of minimal, transitive factorizations of a permutation into arbitrary unspecified factors. This was proved by a purely combinatorial argument, based on a direct bijection between factorizations and certain objects called m-Eulerian trees. In this paper, we give a simple partial differential equation for Bousquet-Mélou and Schaeffer’s generating series, and for Goulden and Jackson’s generating series, as well as a new proof of the result by Bousquet-Mélou and Schaeffer. We apply algebraic methods based on Lagrange’s theorem, and combinatorial methods based on a new use of Bousquet-Mélou and Schaeffer’s m-Eulerian trees. Supported by a Discovery Grant from NSERC. We consider the class of multivariate distributions that gives the distribution of the sum of uncorrelated random variables by the product of their marginal distributions. This class is defined by a representation of the assumption of sub-independence, formulated previously in terms of the characteristic function and convolution, as a weaker assumption than independence for derivation of the distribution of the sum of random variables. The new representation is in terms of stochastic equivalence and the class of distributions is referred to as the summable uncorrelated marginals (SUM) distributions. The SUM distributions can be used as models for the joint distribution of uncorrelated random variables, irrespective of the strength of dependence between them. We provide a method for the construction of bivariate SUM distributions through linking any pair of identical symmetric probability density functions. We also give a formula for measuring the strength of dependence of the SUM models. A final result shows that under the condition of positive or negative orthant dependence, the SUM property implies independence.  相似文献
