We report a high repetition rate Q-switched Nd:YVO4/Cr4+:YAG micro laser with small pump power. Unwanted defects in pulse train, which are inherently large in passively Q-switched laser, was simply minimized by controlling temperature of Nd:YVO4/Cr4+:YAG medium. When T 0 = 90% Cr4+:YAG and R OC = 90% output coupler were used, Q-switched Nd:YVO4/Cr4+:YAG micro laser showed the optimum output; maximum output power of 58 mW, optical-to-optical efficiency of 9.1%, repetition rate of 1.1 MHz, and pulse width of 57 ns were achieved with 640 mW pumping. MHz-order repetition rate in Nd:YVO4/Cr4+:YAG Q-switched laser with low pumping (<1 W) is the highest value to the best of our knowledge.  相似文献

The character of a diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:GdVO4/V3+:YAG 912 nm laser was demonstrated for the first time to our knowledge. With an absorbed pump power of 7.4 W, an average output power of 360 mW with a Q-switched pulse width of 328 ns at a pulse repetition rate of 163 kHz was obtained. The Q-switching efficiency was found to be 32.7%. Our work further indicated V3+:YAG could be an effective fast passive Q-switch for 0.9 μm radiation.  相似文献

The laser characteristics of laser-diode end-pumped Yb:YAG/Cr4+:YAG composite ceramics microchip passively Q-switched lasers were studied by solving the coupled rate equations numerically taking into account the reabsorption of Yb:YAG ceramics at laser wavelength. Effects of the reflectivity of the output coupler, the concentrations and thickness of the saturable absorbers, and pump beam area on the laser performance were investigated analytically. The simulation results of the Yb:YAG/Cr4+:YAG composite ceramics passively Q-switched microchip lasers were in good agreement with the experimental data. Better laser performance (high peak power, short pulse width and good optical-to-optical efficiency) of the composite Yb:YAG/Cr4+:YAG ceramics passively Q-switched laser can be obtained by using a thin Cr4+:YAG ceramic with high concentration, suitable reflectivity of the output coupler and proper pump beam diameter under high pump power intensity according to our simulations.  相似文献

Using a V3+:YAG saturable absorber, we realize the running of a laser-diode end-pumped passively Q-switched intracavity-frequency-doubling Nd:GdVO4/KTP red laser. Under the absorbed pump power of 9.45 W and with V3+:YAG initial transmission T 0 = 94%, the obtained average output power and pulse width were 610 mW and 15.09 ns with the repetition rate of 12.2 kHz, corresponding to the single pulse energy 50 μJ and the pulse peak power 3.34 kW.  相似文献

An efficient compact diode-pumped acousto-optic actively Q-switched Nd:YAG ceramic laser operating at 1319 nm was demonstrated. At an incident pump power of 23.7 W, an average output power of 4.8 W at a pulse repetition frequency of 30 kHz was obtained. The corresponding optical-to-optical conversion efficiency was 20.3%. A maximum single pulse energy of 316 μJ with a pulse duration of 78.5 ns was obtained at an incident pump power of 19.4 W and a pulse repetition frequency of 10 kHz.  相似文献

We design an efficient passively Q-switched laser using a composite YAG/Yb:YAG crystal as the laser gain medium and a Cr4+:YAG crystal as a saturable absorber. We obtain an average output power of 1.81 W in 1030 nm laser at an absorbed pump power of 4.8 W, corresponding to an optical-to-optical efficiency of 37.7% and a slope efficiency of 47.3%. The pulsed laser has a repetition rate of about 28.6 kHz and a pulse width of 15.8 ns, with the highest peak power of 4 kW. In addition, using a LBO as the intracavity frequency doubler, we obtain a maximum power of 246 mW in 515 nm pulsed laser at an absorbed pump power of 3.8 W.  相似文献

A passively Q-switched 1.06 μm laser with Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber by direct 879 nm diode pumping grown-together composite GdVO4/Nd:GdVO4 crystal to the emitting level was demonstrated in this paper. The characteristics of pulsed laser were investigated by using two kinds of Cr4+:YAG crystal with the initial transmissivity of 80 and 90%, respectively. When the T 0 = 90% Cr4+:YAG was used, an average output power of 1.59 W was achieved at an incident pump power of 10 W. The pulse width and repetition rate were 64.5 ns and 170 kHz, respectively. The thermal lens effect of laser crystal was analyzed.  相似文献

We report on a passively mode-locked TEM00 Nd:YAG oscillator with the beam quality at M 2 = 1.1 by a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror under 885 nm laser diode direct pumping for the first time. A maximum average output power of 17 W at a repetition rate of 80 MHz with 39 ps pulse width was obtained under the absorbed pump power of 38 W, corresponding to an optical-optical efficiency of 44% and the slope efficiency of 69%, respectively.  相似文献

The performance of a LD-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YAG ceramic laser at 1319 nm with a Co:LMA saturable absorber was demonstrated for the first time to the best of our knowledge. The average output power of 1.58 W was obtained at the pump power of 23.3 W, corresponding to the optical conversion efficiency of 6.78% and slope efficiency of 11.2%. The minimum pulse width was 23 ns with the pulse repetition rate of 83 kHz, which was attained with a T = 1% output coupler at the pump power of 23.3 W.  相似文献

The operation of an all solid-state pulsed Nd:KGW Raman laser pumped by compact passively Q-switched Nd:YAG/Cr:YAG laser is demonstrated. The first-Stokes radiation of stimulated Nd:KGW Raman scattering at the 1178 nm is generated. The average output power of 336 mW at Stokes wavelength was obtained under the laser diode pump power of 5.74 W. The corresponding optical efficiency from the diode light to the Raman output is 9.85%. The pulse width of 1.65 ns and a pulse repetition rate of 10 kHz were also obtained.  相似文献

Passively Q-switched green output with Cr4+:YAG as saturable absorber and PPMgLN as the frequency doubling crystal was realized in a compact diode end-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser. The green light output power, pulse width, pulse repetition rate, pulse energy and peak power with three Cr4+:YAG of different initial transmissions were investigated. The maximum average output power was 1.2 W at the pump power of 4.0 W and the maximum conversion efficiency was 30% with the Cr4+:YAG of 90% initial transmission. The maximum pulse energy and minimum pulse width were 10.9 μJ and 12 ns with the Cr4+:YAG of 75% initial transmission.  相似文献

This work presents experimental results concerning a passively Q-switched intracavity frequencydoubled Nd:LuVO4/LBO green laser with a Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber operated at the wavelength of 0.53 μm. A maximal output power of 1.28 W was obtained at a pump power of 16.34 W, and peak power, pulse width as well as repetition frequency were 1.48 kW, 41 ns and 21 kHz, respectively.  相似文献

In this article, a diode-end-pumped passively Q-switched extra-cavity frequency doubled micro-type green laser by Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG composite crystal was demonstrated. The dependence of the average out power, pulse width and pulse repetition rate on incident pump power were measured. Under the pump power of 14 W, the minimum pulse width of 1.3 ns with repetition rate of 68.0 kHz was obtained, corresponding single-pulse energy of 8.8 μJ and peak power of 6.7 kW.  相似文献

A single diode-pumped passively Q-switched composite Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG laser, which cavity mirrors were deposited directly onto the crystal, was demonstrated in this paper. At the incident power of 2.75 W, the maximum average output power of 365 mW and the shortest pulse width of 1.7 ns were obtained, corresponding the repetition rate of 14.6 kHz. The single-pulse energy and the peak power were estimated to be 25 μJ and 14 kW, respectively. The corresponding optical-optical conversion efficiency was 13.3%.  相似文献

A large pulse energy and high peak power passively Q-switched ceramic neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser has been demonstrated with Cr4+:YAG crystals as the saturable absorbers. By employing a continuous wave (CW) laser-diode (LD) as the pump source, as high as 11.3 W CW output power of 1064 nm was obtained under the pump power of 21.6 W, with an optical conversion efficiency of 52.3%. Inserting different initial transmissions Cr4+:YAG as saturable absorbers, under the incident pump power of 15.6 W, the largest pulse energy, shortest pulse width, and highest peak power are measured to be 188 μJ, 3.16 ns, and 59.5 kW, respectively. As we has known, this is the best passively Q-switched results ever reported by Nd:YAG ceramic material.  相似文献

By simultaneously using both a V3+:YAG and a Co2+:LaMgAl11O19 saturable absorber in the cavity, for the first time to our knowledge, a diode-pumped doubly Q-switched Nd:GdVO4 laser has been realized. The dependence of pulse width, pulse repetition rate, pulse energy and peak power on the incident pump power are measured. Under the absorbed pump power of 8.59 W, both the pulse temporal profile of the passive double-switching with the pulse width of 25.29 ns, and the passive single-switching just using V3+:YAG with pulse width of 30.46 ns are obtained. The pulse duration is partly compressed in contrast to the purely passively Q-switched laser with V3+:YAG.  相似文献

The efficient dual-wavelength oscillation at 1064 and 1342 nm in the passively Q-switched laser based on Nd:YVO4/V3+:YAG is successfully obtained, as demonstrated in this paper. A total average output power of 2.2 W is obtained with 1.3 W for 1064 nm and 0.9 W for 1342 nm under the incident pump power of 7.7 W, corresponding to a total optical-optical conversion efficiency of 28.2%. The pulse widths are 58 and 54 ns for 1064 and 1342 nm, respectively, with the repetition rate of 89 kHz. Moreover, a rate equation model considering the Gaussian spatial distributions of the intracavity photon density and the initial population-inversion density is presented to characterize the dual-wavelength passive Q-switching operation.  相似文献
