In this article we give a new proof for the infinitesimal Torelli theorem for minimal elliptic surfaces without multiple fibers with Euler number at least 24 for nonconstant j-invariant. In the case of constant j-invariant we find a new proof in the case of Euler number at least 72. We also discuss several new counterexamples.  相似文献

We establish the equality of classical and tropical curve counts for elliptic curves on toric surfaces with fixed j-invariant, refining results of Mikhalkin and Nishinou–Siebert. As an application, we determine a formula for such counts on P2 and all Hirzebruch surfaces. This formula relates the count of elliptic curves with the number of rational curves on the surface satisfying a small number of tangency conditions with the toric boundary. Furthermore, the combinatorial tropical multiplicities of Kerber and Markwig for counts in P2 are derived and explained algebro-geometrically, using Berkovich geometry and logarithmic Gromov–Witten theory. As a consequence, a new proof of Pandharipande’s formula for counts of elliptic curves in P2 with fixed j-invariant is obtained.  相似文献

If the group H of the Fq-rational points of a non-singular cubic curve has even order, then the coset of a subgroup of H of index two is an arc in the Galois plane of order q. The completeness of such an arc has been proved, except for the case j=0, where j is the j-invariant of the underlying cubic curve. The aim of this paper is to settle the completeness problem for the exceptional case and to provide an alternative proof of the known results.  相似文献

An automorphismf of an abelian varietyX is called fixed point free if it admits no fixed points other than the origin and this is of multiplicity one. It is well known that the elliptic curve withj-invariant 0 is the only elliptic curve admitting a fixed point free automorphism. Zagier proved that the traces of singular values of the classical j-invariant are the Fourier coefficients of a weight 3/2 modular form and Duke provided a new proof of the result by establishing an exact formula for the traces using Niebur's work on a certain class of non-holomorphic modular forms. In this short note, by utilizing Niebur's work again, we generalize Duke's result to exact formulas for traces of singular moduli of higher level modular functions.  相似文献

In an earlier paper we considered the effects that finite submodules can have on μ-invariants of Selmer groups. In this paper we examine some of the consequences of that theory to elliptic curves and their symmetric powers. One main result is the construction of an isogeny class of elliptic curves, all of which have positive μ-invariants. A second result is a connection between the behaviors of μ-invariants associated with the symmetric powers of an elliptic curve over , and the behavior of the μ-invariant of that elliptic curve over different extensions of .  相似文献

It is proved that the supersingular parameters α of the elliptic curve E 3(α): Y 2+αXY+Y=X 3 in Deuring normal form satisfy α=3+γ 3, where γ lies in the finite field $\mathbb{F}_{p^{2}}$ . This is accomplished by finding explicit generators for the normal closure N of the finite extension k(α)/k(j(α)), where α is an indeterminate over $k=\mathbb{F}_{p^{2}}$ , and j(α) is the j-invariant of E 3(α). Computing an explicit algebraic form for the elements of the Galois group of the extension N/k(j) leads to some new relationships between supersingular parameters for the Deuring normal form. The function field N, which contains the function field of the cubic Fermat curve, is then used to show how the results of Fleckinger for the Deuring normal form are related to cubic theta functions.  相似文献

Every elliptic quartic Γ4 of PG(3,q) with nGF(q)-rational points provides a near-MDS code C of length n and dimension 4 such that the collineation group of Γ4 is isomorphic to the automorphism group of C. In this paper we assume that GF(q) has characteristic p>3. We classify the linear collineation groups of PG(3,q) which can preserve an elliptic quartic of PG(3,q). Also, we prove for q?113 that if the j-invariant of Γ4 does not disappear, then C cannot be extended in a natural way by adding a point of PG(3,q) to Γ4.  相似文献

Let E be an elliptic curve over an infinite field K with characteristic ≠2, and σH1(GK,E)[2] a two-torsion element of its Weil-Châtelet group. We prove that σ is always visible in infinitely many abelian surfaces up to isomorphism, in the sense put forward by Cremona and Mazur in their article (J. Exp. Math. 9(1) (2000) 13). Our argument is a variant of Mazur's proof, given in (Asian J. Math. 3(1) (1999) 221), for the analogous statement about three-torsion elements of the Shafarevich-Tate group in the setting where K is a number field. In particular, instead of the universal elliptic curve with full level-three-structure, our proof makes use of the universal elliptic curve with full level-two-structure and an invariant differential.  相似文献

The concept of a limiting conditional age distribution of a continuous time Markov process whose state space is the set of non-negative integers and for which {0} is absorbing is defined as the weak limit as t→∞ of the last time before t an associated “return” Markov process exited from {0} conditional on the state, j, of this process at t. It is shown that this limit exists and is non-defective if the return process is ρ-recurrent and satisfies the strong ratio limit property. As a preliminary to the proof of the main results some general results are established on the representation of the ρ-invariant measure and function of a Markov process. The conditions of the main results are shown to be satisfied by the return process constructed from a Markov branching process and by birth and death processes. Finally, a number of limit theorems for the limiting age as j→∞ are given.  相似文献

In a recent article, Arendt and ter Elst have shown that every sectorial form is in a natural way associated with the generator of an analytic strongly continuous semigroup, even if the form fails to be closable. As an intermediate step, they have introduced so-called j?elliptic forms, which generalise the concept of elliptic forms in the sense of Lions. We push their analysis forward in that we discuss some perturbation and convergence results for semigroups associated with j?elliptic forms. In particular, we study convergence with respect to the trace norm or other Schatten norms. We apply our results to Laplace operators and Dirichlet-to-Neumann-type operators.  相似文献

Transformations performing on the dependent and/or the independent variables are an useful method used to classify PDE in class of equivalence. In this paper we consider a large class of U(1)-invariant nonlinear Schrödinger equations containing complex nonlinearities. The U(1) symmetry implies the existence of a continuity equation for the particle density ρ≡|ψ|2 where the current j ψ has, in general, a nonlinear structure. We introduce a nonlinear gauge transformation on the dependent variables ρ and j ψ which changes the evolution equation in another one containing only a real nonlinearity and transforms the particle current j ψ in the standard bilinear form. We extend the method to U(1)-invariant coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations where the most general nonlinearity is taken into account through the sum of an Hermitian matrix and an anti-Hermitian matrix. By means of the nonlinear gauge transformation we change the nonlinear system in another one containing only a purely Hermitian nonlinearity. Finally, we consider nonlinear Schrödinger equations minimally coupled with an Abelian gauge field whose dynamics is governed, in the most general fashion, through the Maxwell-Chern-Simons equation. It is shown that the nonlinear transformation we are introducing can be applied, in this case, separately to the gauge field or to the matter field with the same final result. In conclusion, some relevant examples are presented to show the applicability of the method.  相似文献

Elliptic 6j-symbols first appeared in connection with solvable models of statistical mechanics. They include many interesting limit cases, such as quantum 6j-symbols (or q-Racah polynomials) and Wilson’s biorthogonal 10 W 9 functions. We give an elementary construction of elliptic 6j-symbols, which immediately implies several of their main properties. As a consequence, we obtain a new algebraic interpretation of elliptic 6j-symbols in terms of Sklyanin algebra representations.  相似文献
