Dynamical behavior of nonlinear oscillator under combined parametric and forcing excitation, which includes van der Pol damping, is very complex. In this paper, Melnikov'smethod is used to study the heteroclinic orbit bifurcations, subharmonic bifurcations and chaos in this system. Smale horseshoes and chaotic motions can occur from odd subharmonic bifurcation of infinite order in this system for various resonant cases.Finally the numerical computing method is used to study chaotic motions of this system. The results achieved reveal some new phenomena.  相似文献

This paper presents the analysis of the global bifurcations and chaotic dynamics for the nonlinear nonplanar oscillations of a cantilever beam subjected to a harmonic axial excitation and transverse excitations at the free end. The governing nonlinear equations of nonplanar motion with parametric and external excitations are obtained. The Galerkin procedure is applied to the partial differential governing equation to obtain a two-degree-of-freedom nonlinear system with parametric and forcing excitations. The resonant case considered here is 2:1 internal resonance, principal parametric resonance-1/2 subharmonic resonance for the in-plane mode and fundamental parametric resonance–primary resonance for the out-of-plane mode. The parametrically and externally excited system is transformed to the averaged equations by using the method of multiple scales. From the averaged equation obtained here, the theory of normal form is applied to find the explicit formulas of normal forms associated with a double zero and a pair of pure imaginary eigenvalues. Based on the normal form obtained above, a global perturbation method is utilized to analyze the global bifurcations and chaotic dynamics in the nonlinear nonplanar oscillations of the cantilever beam. The global bifurcation analysis indicates that there exist the heteroclinic bifurcations and the Silnikov type single-pulse homoclinic orbit in the averaged equation for the nonlinear nonplanar oscillations of the cantilever beam. These results show that the chaotic motions can occur in the nonlinear nonplanar oscillations of the cantilever beam. Numerical simulations verify the analytical predictions.  相似文献

The behaviour of the parametrically driven pendulum is very complex. Therefore, a global study is carried out to cover all possible situations. The study is mainly numeric, though primary bifurcations of subharmonic motions, as well as the homoclinic intersection of the hilltop saddle, are evaluated according to the Melnikov theory. Extended use is made of the cell-to-cell mapping algorithm to evaluate attracting basins of the various periodic motions. Heteroclinic intersections are always present, independently of the excitation intensity, so that the boundaries of attracting basins are always very complicated, even below the homoclinic tangency of the hilltop saddle. The oscillator exhibits various kinds of rotating and oscillating motions. All these motions lead to chaos after a period doubling cascade. It is shown that chaos usually occurs at a much greater excitation level than at that which produces homoclinic tangency of the hilltop saddle; the greater the damping, the greater the difference. The oscillatory chaotic motion is associated with the first change in the period two Birkhoff signature.  相似文献

An enhanced mechanical model for simulating ship body oscillations and both the induced fluxural and twisting vibrations of the hull in the case of longitudinal seas is presented. The onset of parametric rolling, which may result from nonlinearly coupled heave-pitch-roll motions, and the effects of bending and torsional elasticity of the hull are considered in detail. It is shown that in the above sea conditions the flexural and/or twisting vibrations are likely to occur under a mechanism similar to that of parametric rolling.  相似文献

A new mechanical model for simulating both the ship oscillations and the induced twisting of the hull in the case of longitudinal seas is presented. Particular attention is given to the onset of parametric rolling, which may result from non-linearly coupled heave-pitch-roll motions. It is shown that in these sea conditions the phenomenon of twisting is likely to occur under a mechanism similar to that of parametric rolling.  相似文献

In this study a local semi-analytical method of quantitativebifurcation analysis for time-periodic nonlinear systems is presented.In the neighborhood of a local bifurcation point the system equationsare simplified via Lyapunov–Floquet transformation whichtransforms the linear part of the equation into a dynamically equivalenttime-invariant form. Then the time-periodic center manifoldreduction is used to separate the `critical' states and reduce thedimension of the system to a possible minimum. The center manifoldequations can be simplified further via time-dependent normal formtheory. For most codimension one cases these nonlinear normal forms arecompletely time-invariant. Versal deformation of thesetime-invariant normal forms can be found and the bifurcation phenomenoncan be studied in the neighborhood of the critical point. However, ingeneral, it is not a trivial task to find a quantitatively correctversal deformation for time-periodic systems. In order to do so, onemust find a relationship between the bifurcation parameter of theoriginal time-periodic system and the versal deformation parameter ofthe time-invariant normal form. Essentially one needs to find theeigenvalues of the fundamental solution matrix of the time-periodicproblem in terms of the system parameters, which, in general, cannot bedone due to computational difficulties. In this work two ideas areproposed to achieve this goal. The eigenvalues of the fundamentalsolution matrix can be related to the versal deformation parameter bysensitivity analysis and an approximation of any desired order can beobtained. This idea requires a symbolic computational procedure whichcan be very time consuming in some cases. An alternative method issuggested for faster results in which a second or higher order curvefitting technique is used to find the relationship. Once thisrelationship is established, closed form post-bifurcation steady-statesolutions can be obtained for flip, symmetry breaking, transcritical andsecondary Hopf bifurcations. Unlike averaging and perturbation methods,the proposed technique is applicable at any bifurcation point in theparameter space. As physical examples, a simple and a double pendulumsubjected to periodic parametric excitation are considered. A simple twodegrees of freedom model is also studied and the results are comparedwith those obtained from the traditional averaging method. All resultsare verified by numerical integration. It is observed that the proposedtechnique yields results which are very close to the numericalsolutions, unlike the averaging method.  相似文献

Two fundamentally different versions of the method of multiple scales (MMS) are currently in use in the study of nonlinear resonance phenomena. While the first version is the widely used reconstitution method, the second version is proposed by Rahman and Burton [1]. Both versions of the second-order MMS are applied to the differential equation obtained for a parametrically excited cantilever beam with a lumped mass at an arbitrary position. The bifurcation and stability of the obtained response show the difference between the two versions. While the Hopf bifurcation phenomena with no jump is found in the case of second-order MMS version I, both jump-up and jump-down phenomena are observed in second-order MMS version II, which closely agree with the experimental findings. The results are compared with those obtained by numerically integrating the original temporal equation.  相似文献

An asymmetric nonlinear oscillator representative of the finite forced dynamics of a structural system with initial curvature is used as a model system to show how the combined use of numerical and geometrical analysis allows deep insight into bifurcation phenomena and chaotic behaviour in the light of the system global dynamics.Numerical techniques are used to calculate fixed points of the response and bifurcation diagrams, to identify chaotic attractors, and to obtain basins of attraction of coexisting solutions. Geometrical analysis in control-phase portraits of the invariant manifolds of the direct and inverse saddles corresponding to unstable periodic motions is performed systematically in order to understand the global attractor structure and the attractor and basin bifurcations.  相似文献

Semi-analytical and semi-numerical method is used to investigate the global bifurcations and chaos in the nonlinear system of a Van der Pol-Duffing-Mathieu oscillator. Semi-analytical and semi-numerical method means that the autonomous system, called Van der Pol-Duffing system, is analytically studied to draw all global bifurcations diagrams in parameter space. These diagrams are called basic bifurcation diagrams. Then fixing parameter in every space and taking parametrically excited amplitude as a bifurcation parameter, we can observe the evolution from a basic bifurcation diagram to chaotic pattern by numerical methods. 当周期激励频率远小于系统固有频率时,会存在快慢耦合效应,与单项激励不同,参外联合激励不仅会导致快子系统平衡曲线和分岔行为的复杂化,也会产生一些特殊的非线性现象,为此,本文以两耦合Hodgkin-Huxley细胞模型为例,引入周期参外联合激励,探讨在频域不同尺度耦合时该系统的簇发振荡的特点及其分岔机制.通过建立相应的快慢子系统,得到慢变参数变化下的快子系统的各种分岔模式以及相应的分岔行为,结合转换相图,揭示耦合系统随激励幅值变化时的动力学行为及其机理.研究表明,在激励幅值较小时,系统表现为概周期振荡,两频率分别近似于快子系统平衡曲线由Hopf分岔引起的两稳定极限环的振荡频率.概周期解随激励幅值的增加进入簇发振荡,导致这些簇发振荡的主要原因是在慢变参数变化的部分区间内,存在唯一稳定的平衡曲线,使得系统的轨迹逐渐趋向该平衡曲线,产生沉寂态,并随着慢变参数的变化,由分岔进入激发态.同时,快子系统中参与簇发振荡的稳定吸引子随激励幅值的变化也会不同,导致不同形式的簇发振荡.另外,与单项激励下的情形不同,联合激励时快子系统的部分稳定吸引子掩埋在其它稳定吸引子内,从而失去对簇发振荡的影响.  相似文献

研究输送脉动流的两端固定输流管道在其基础简谐运动激励下的分岔和混沌行为,考虑管道变形的几何非线性和管道材料的非线性因素,推导了系统的非线性运动方程,并应用Galerkin方法对其进行了离散化处理。通过采用数值模拟方法,对系统的运动响应进行仿真,重点探讨了流体平均流速、流速脉动振幅以及基础简谐运动激励振幅对系统动态特性的影响。结果表明,系统在不同的参数下会发生围绕不同平衡点的周期和混沌等运动,并在系统中发现了两条通向混沌运动的途径:倍周期分岔和阵发混沌运动。  相似文献

This paper investigates the dynamics of a TCP system described by a first- order nonlinear delay differential equation. By analyzing the associated characteristic transcendental equation, it is shown that a Hopf bifurcation sequence occurs at the pos- itive equilibrium as the delay passes through a sequence of critical values. The explicit algorithms for determining the Hopf bifurcation direction and the stability of the bifur- cating periodic solutions are derived with the normal form theory and the center manifold theory. The global existence of periodic solutions is also established with the method of Wu (Wu, J. H. Symmetric functional differential equations and neural networks with memory. 根据曲轴扭矩传递原理得到了相关数学模型,进而计算了连杆轴颈偏转和活塞往复转动;在考虑燃气压力、往复惯性力和流体摩擦力,以及转动摩擦阻力矩、转动惯性力矩和气体摩擦力矩作用的基础上,提出了活塞环随活塞同步转动的判别条件,建立了活塞环相对转动的分析模型.结果表明:在内燃机工作循环中,连杆轴颈的正、负偏转引起活塞往复转动,在燃气爆发位置附近产生最大偏转和转动幅值;在少量曲轴转角区间内附着力矩小于转动阻力矩,此时活塞环不能与活塞保持同步而是与活塞之间发生相对转动;第二气环转动角度大于第一气环,当2个气环的开口转到相同位置时,活塞环出现开口重叠.  相似文献

Dynamic modeling of a cantilever beam under an axial movement of its basement is presented. The dynamic equation of motion for the cantilever beam is established by using Kane's equation first and then simplified through the Rayleigh-Ritz method. Compared with the older modeling method, which linearizes the generalized inertia forces and the generalized active forces, the present modeling takes the coupled cubic nonlinearities of geometrical and inertial types into consideration. The method of multiple scales is used to directly solve the nonlinear differential equations and to derive the nonlinear modulation equation for the principal parametric resonance. The results show that the nonlinear inertia terms produce a softening effect and play a significant role in the planar response of the second mode and the higher ones. On the other hand, the nonlinear geometric terms produce a hardening effect and dominate the planar response of the first mode. The validity of the present modeling is clarified through the comparisons of its coefficients with those experimentally verified in previous studies. 针对EQ6100型汽油机,利用内燃机磨合台架试验装置对所研制的内燃机专用磨合油与普通15W/40内燃机油进行对比磨合试验,对磨合油液进行直读铁谱分析,对缸套-活塞环磨合表面形貌及元素组成进行测试分析。结果表明:专用磨合油的磨合效果明显优于普通内燃机油;超细金刚石微粉可以加速磨合进程,分化并减小磨屑尺寸,从而避免缸壁拉伤和改善缸套-活塞环摩擦副的摩擦学特性。  相似文献
