A type of quasilinear Schrdinger equations in two space dimensions which describe attractive Bose-Einstein condensates in physics is discussed.By establishing the property of the equation and applying the energy method,the blowup of solutions to the equation are proved under certain conditions.At the same time,by the variational method,a sufficient condition of global existence which is related to the ground state of a classical elliptic equation is obtained.  相似文献

We construct Darboux transformation of a coupled generalized nonlinear Schrödinger (CGNLS) equations and obtain exact analytic expressions of breather and rogue wave solutions. We also formulate the conditions for isolating these solutions. We show that the rogue wave solution can be found only when the four wave mixing parameter becomes real. We also investigate the modulation instability of the steady state solution of CGNLS system and demonstrate that it can occur only when the four wave mixing parameter becomes real. Our results give an evidence for the connection between the occurrence of rogue wave solution and the modulation instability.  相似文献

Sufficient conditions are investigated for the global stability of the solu tions to models based on nonlinear impulsive differential equations with "supremum" and variable impulsive perturbations. The notion of a “simple” solution of a system of differential equations that admit a local Lie group G of transformations of the basic space is considered as an invariant H-solution of type (0, 0) with respect to the subgroup HυG. Such solutions are attractive since they are described by explicit formulas that provide a clear physical interpretation for them. For gas-dynamic equations with a polytropic gas law, all simple solutions that are not related to special forms of gas flow are listed. Examples of simple solutions are given and the collapse phenomenon, which has been previously studied for barochronic flows, is described. The literature regarding the free vibration analysis of Bernoulli–Euler and Timoshenko beams under various supporting conditions is plenty, but the free vibration analysis of Reddy–Bickford beams with variable cross-section on elastic soil with/without axial force effect using the Differential Transform Method (DTM) has not been investigated by any of the studies in open literature so far. In this study, the free vibration analysis of axially loaded and semi-rigid connected Reddy–Bickford beam with variable cross-section on elastic soil is carried out by using DTM. The model has six degrees of freedom at the two ends, one transverse displacement and two rotations, and the end forces are a shear force and two end moments in this study. The governing differential equations of motion of the rectangular beam in free vibration are derived using Hamilton’s principle and considering rotatory inertia. Parameters for the relative stiffness, stiffness ratio and nondimensionalized multiplication factor for the axial compressive force are incorporated into the equations of motion in order to investigate their effects on the natural frequencies. At first, the terms are found directly from the analytical solutions of the differential equations that describe the deformations of the cross-section according to the high-order theory. After the analytical solution, an efficient and easy mathematical technique called DTM is used to solve the governing differential equations of the motion. The calculated natural frequencies of semi-rigid connected Reddy–Bickford beam with variable cross-section on elastic soil using DTM are tabulated in several tables and figures and are compared with the results of the analytical solution where a very good agreement is observed.  相似文献

The steady-state solitary wave solution of high-level Green–Naghdi (GN) equations is obtained by use of the Newton–Raphson method. Four aspects of solitary waves are studied: the wave speed, wave profile, velocity field and particle trajectory. A convergence study is performed for each individual case. Results of the converged model are compared with the existing laboratory experiments and other theoretical solutions for an inviscid and incompressible fluid, including the solutions of the Euler equations. Particle trajectories, predicted by the GN model, show close agreement with the laboratory measurements and provide a new approach to understanding the movement of the particles under a solitary wave. It is further shown that high-level GN equations can predict the solitary wave of the highest height.  相似文献

Summary One considers a system L[u]=0 of PDEs, quasi-linear (according to [1]) and of order m, which possesses a bicharacteristic line , as it happens in the hyperbolic case. For v=0, , –m (>0) let u(v) be a discontinuity wave of order m+v that solves the system above and whose discontinuity hypersurface includes . The corresponding transport equations along are considered. Furthermore some interesting cases are pointed out, in which these equations turn out to be mutually equivalent in a suitable sense. Some theorems are stated to compare the transport equations for the discontinuities of the above kinds, that are connected with the systems dhL[u]/dth=0 (h=0, , –m) and/or the linearization of the system L[u]=0 around any regular solution of it.

Positive radial solutions of a semilinear elliptic equation u+g(r)u+h(r)u p =0, where r=|x|, xR n , and p>1, are studied in balls with zero Dirichlet boundary condition. By means of a generalized Pohoaev identity which includes a real parameter, the uniqueness of the solution is established under quite general assumptions on g(r) and h(r). This paper aims to study a class of differential equations with parametric Gaussian colored noise. We present the general framework to get the solvability conditions of the approximate stationary probability density function, which is determined by the Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov (FPK) equations. These equations are derived using the stochastic averaging method and the operator theory with the perturbation technique. An illustrative example is proposed to demonstrate the procedure of our proposed method. The analytical expression of approximate stationary probability density function is obtained. Numerical simulation is carried out to verify the analytical results and excellent agreement can be easily found. The FPK equation for the probability density function of order ε 0 is used to examine the almost-sure stability for the amplitude process. Finally, the stability in probability of the amplitude process is investigated by Lin and Cai’s method.  相似文献

Metal foams are increasingly used for energy absorption especially in lightweight structures and to resist blast and impact loads. This requires an understanding of the dynamic response of these materials for modelling purposes. As a supplement to Tan et al., 2005a, Tan et al., 2005b, hereinafter referred to as TL for brevity, this paper provides experimental data for the dynamic mechanical properties of open-cell Duocel® foams having a three-dimensional (3D) distribution of cells. These confirm significant enhancement of the foam’s compressive strength, accompanied by changes in their deformation pattern in certain loading régimes, particularly what has come to be described as the ‘shock’ régime by Zheng et al. (2012). This paper examines experimentally, in a similar fashion as TL, how the structural response of the individual cell walls is affected by cell-shape anisotropy at the cell (meso)-scale and how this, in turn, alters the pattern of cell crushing and the dynamic, mechanical properties. The distinctive role of cell microinertia and ‘shock’ formation are discussed in relation to the mechanical properties measured for these 3D cylindrical specimens. For consistency the same procedures described in TL are used. The features identified are shown to be consistent with those observed in finite-element simulations of two-dimensional (2D) honeycombs as estimated by the one-dimensional (1D) steady-shock theory summarised in TL. The different deformation patterns that develop in the various loading régimes are categorised according to the compression rate/impact speed. Critical values of impact velocity, corresponding to the transition from one pattern to the other, are quantified and predictive formulae for the compressive uniaxial strengths in the directions of two of the principal axes of the material in each loading régime are derived and discussed. The accuracy of the predictive formula in TL is shown to critically depend on the ‘densification strain’ of the foam specimens. This parameter and the discussion that follows could assist the formulation and validation of alternative theoretical/computational models on the dynamic deformation of such materials.  相似文献

An analytical framework based on the homogenization method has been developed to predict the effective electromechanical properties of periodic, particulate and porous, piezoelectric composites with anisotropic constituents. Expressions are provided for the effective moduli tensors of n-phase composites based on the respective strain and electric field concentration tensors. By taking into account the shape and distribution of the inclusion and by invoking a simple numerical procedure, solutions for the electromechanical properties of a general anisotropic inclusion in an anisotropic matrix are obtained. While analytical forms are provided for predicting the electroelastic moduli of composites with spherical and cylindrical inclusions, numerical evaluation of integrals over the composite microstructure is required in order to obtain the corresponding expressions for a general ellipsoidal particle in a piezoelectric matrix. The electroelastic moduli of piezoelectric composites predicted by the analytical model developed in the present study demonstrate excellent agreement with results obtained from three-dimensional finite-element models for several piezoelectric systems that exhibit varying degrees of elastic anisotropy.  相似文献
