J.A.A. van der Veen [A new class of pyramidally solvable symmetric traveling salesman problems, SIAM J. Discrete Math. 7 (1994) 585–592] proved that for the traveling salesman problem (TSP) which satisfies some symmetric conditions (called van der Veen conditions), a shortest pyramidal tour is optimal, that is, an optimal tour can be computed in polynomial time. In this paper, we prove that a class satisfying an asymmetric analog of van der Veen conditions is polynomially solvable. An optimal tour of the instance in this class forms a tour which is an extension of pyramidal ones. Moreover, this class properly includes some known polynomially solvable classes. 相似文献

An example is given to show that even in a variety whose free word problem (identity problem) is solvable, the free product of two recursive presentations with solvable word problems may have unsolvable word problem. Under some extra conditions on the syntax of the identities defining the variety however, the free product is shown to preserve solvability of the word problem for recursive presentations. The conditions can be checked mechanically, and common varieties such as semigroups and groups satisfy them, as well as many less familiar varieties. We clarify the algebraic structure of continuous and discrete quasi-exactly solvable spectral problems by embedding them in the framework of the quantum inverse scattering method. We use the nonlinear capacity method to prove the blow-up of solutions of initial-boundary value problems of hydrodynamic type in bounded domains. We present sufficient boundary conditions ensuring the blow-up of the solution of an equation that is globally solvable under the classical boundary conditions. We estimate the blow-up time of solutions under given initial conditions. Note that it is the first result concerning blow-up for one of the problems considered. 相似文献

The inverse problems are under study for the Helmholtz equation describing acoustic scattering at a three-dimensional inclusion. Some optimization method reduces these problems to the inverse extremum problems with variable refraction index and boundary source density as controls. We prove that these problems are solvable and derive the optimality systems that describe necessary optimality conditions. Analysis of the optimality systems leads us to some sufficient conditions on the input data ensuring the uniqueness and stability of optimal solutions. 相似文献
