We prove sharp pointwise estimates for functions in the Sobolev spaces of radial functions defined in a ball. As a consequence, we obtain some imbeddings of such Sobolev spaces in weighted Lq-spaces. We also prove similar imbeddings for Sobolev spaces of functions with partial symmetry. Our techniques lead to new Hardy type inequalities. It is important to observe that we do not require any vanishing condition on the boundary to obtain all our estimates. We apply these imbeddings to obtain radial solutions and partially symmetric solutions for a biharmonic equation of the Hénon type under both Dirichlet and Navier boundary conditions. The delicate question of the regularity of these solutions is also established.  相似文献

We consider the generalized Segal-Bargmann transform, defined in terms of the heat operator, for a noncompact symmetric space of the complex type. For radial functions, we show that the Segal-Bargmann transform is a unitary map onto a certain L2 space of meromorphic functions. For general functions, we give an inversion formula for the Segal-Bargmann transform, involving integration against an “unwrapped” version of the heat kernel for the dual compact symmetric space. Both results involve delicate cancellations of singularities.  相似文献

The function spaces Dk(Rn) are introduced and studied. The definition of these spaces is based on a regularity property for the critical Sobolev spaces Ws,p(Rn), where sp=n, obtained by J. Bourgain, H. Brezis, New estimates for the Laplacian, the div-curl, and related Hodge systems, C. R. Math. Acad. Sci. Paris 338 (7) (2004) 539-543 (see also J. Van Schaftingen, Estimates for L1-vector fields, C. R. Math. Acad. Sci. Paris 339 (3) (2004) 181-186). The spaces Dk(Rn) contain all the critical Sobolev spaces. They are embedded in BMO(Rn), but not in VMO(Rn). Moreover, they have some extension and trace properties that BMO(Rn) does not have.  相似文献

The density of polynomials is straightforward to prove in Sobolev spaces Wk,p((a,b)), but there exist only partial results in weighted Sobolev spaces; here we improve some of these theorems. We give conditions under which a homomorphism between two Zariski dense subgroups of connected semisimple Lie groups G and G' without compact factors and with trivial center can be extended to a continuous isomorphism between G and G'. We study the initial value problem associated to the Benjamin-Ono equation. The aim is to establish persistence properties of the solution flow in the weighted Sobolev spaces , sR, s?1 and s?r. We also prove some unique continuation properties of the solution flow in these spaces. In particular, these continuation principles demonstrate that our persistence properties are sharp.  相似文献

In this article we give a straightforward proof of refined inequalities between Lorentz spaces and Besov spaces and we generalize previous results of H. Bahouri and A. Cohen [2]. Working in a weighted Sobolev space, a new result involving jumping nonlinearities for a semilinear elliptic boundary value problem in a bounded domain in RN is established. The nonlinear part of the equation is assumed to grow at most linearly and to be at resonance with the first eigenvalue of the linear part on the right. On the left, the nonlinearity crosses over (or jumps over) several higher eigenvalues. Existence is obtained through the use of infinite-dimensional critical point theory in the context of weighted Sobolev spaces and appears to be new even for the standard Dirichlet problem for the Laplacian.  相似文献

For α>0, the Bargmann projectionPα is the orthogonal projection from L2(γα) onto the holomorphic subspace , where γα is the standard Gaussian probability measure on Cn with variance (2α)n. The space is classically known as the Segal-Bargmann space. We show that Pα extends to a bounded operator on Lp(γαp/2), and calculate the exact norm of this scaled Lp Bargmann projection. We use this to show that the dual space of the Lp-Segal-Bargmann space is an Lp Segal-Bargmann space, but with the Gaussian measure scaled differently: (this was shown originally by Janson, Peetre, and Rochberg). We show that the Bargmann projection controls this dual isomorphism, and gives a dimension-independent estimate on one of the two constants of equivalence of the norms.  相似文献
