Let (X,d) be a complete, pathwise connected metric measure space with a locally Ahlfors Q-regular measure μ, where Q>1. Suppose that (X,d,μ) supports a (local) (1,2)-Poincaré inequality and a suitable curvature lower bound. For the Poisson equation Δu=f on (X,d,μ), Moser-Trudinger and Sobolev inequalities are established for the gradient of u. The local Hölder continuity with optimal exponent of solutions is obtained.  相似文献

We give a new proof of the fact that Gaussian concentration implies the logarithmic Sobolev inequality when the curvature is bounded from below, and also that exponential concentration implies Poincaré inequality under null curvature condition. Our proof holds on non-smooth structures, such as length spaces, and provides a universal control of the constants. We also give a new proof of the equivalence between dimension free Gaussian concentration and Talagrand's transport inequality.  相似文献

For a metric space X, we study the space D(X) of bounded functions on X whose pointwise Lipschitz constant is uniformly bounded. D(X) is compared with the space LIP(X) of bounded Lipschitz functions on X, in terms of different properties regarding the geometry of X. We also obtain a Banach-Stone theorem in this context. In the case of a metric measure space, we also compare D(X) with the Newtonian-Sobolev space N1,∞(X). In particular, if X supports a doubling measure and satisfies a local Poincaré inequality, we obtain that D(X)=N1,∞(X).  相似文献

In the setting of metric measure spaces equipped with a doubling measure supporting a weak p-Poincaré inequality with 1?p<∞, we show that any uniform domain Ω is an extension domain for the Newtonian space N1,p(Ω) and that Ω, together with the metric and the measure inherited from X, supports a weak p-Poincaré inequality. For p>1, we obtain a near characterization of N1,p-extension domains with local estimates for the extension operator.  相似文献

Sharp Poincaré inequalities on balls or chain type bounded domains have been extensively studied both in classical Euclidean space and Carnot-Carathéodory spaces associated with sub-elliptic vector fields (e.g., vector fields satisfying Hörmander's condition). In this paper, we investigate the validity of sharp global Poincaré inequalities of both first order and higher order on the entire nilpotent stratified Lie groups or on unbounded extension domains in such groups. We will show that simultaneous sharp global Poincaré inequalities also hold and weighted versions of such results remain to be true. More precisely, let G be a nilpotent stratified Lie group and f be in the localized non-isotropic Sobolev space , where 1?p<Q/m and Q is the homogeneous dimension of the Lie group G. Suppose that the mth sub-elliptic derivatives of f is globally Lp integrable; i.e., is finite (but assume that lower order sub-elliptic derivatives are only locally Lp integrable). We denote the space of such functions as Bm,p(G). We prove a high order Poincaré inequality for f minus a polynomial of order m−1 over the entire space G or unbounded extension domains. As applications, we will prove a density theorem stating that smooth functions with compact support are dense in Bm,p(G) modulus a finite-dimensional subspace.  相似文献

In this paper, we obtain a reinforcement of an inequality due to Brascamp and Lieb and a reinforcement of Poincaré's inequality for general logarithmical concave measures on Rd. The formula used in the proof is related to theorems concerning the integration of log-concave functions (such as results of Prékopa and of Ball, Barthe and Naor). We also obtain a lower bound for the variance of the same family of measures.  相似文献

We construct a sphere fibration over a finite aspherical Poincaré complex X, which we call the tangential end fibration, under the condition that the universal cover of X is forward tame and simply connected at infinity. We show that it is tangent to X if the formal dimension of X is even or, when the formal dimension is odd, if the diagonal XX×X admits a Poincaré embedding structure.  相似文献

We consider Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes (OU-processes) associated to hypo-elliptic diffusion processes on finite-dimensional Lie groups: let L be a hypo-elliptic, left-invariant “sum of the squares”-operator on a Lie group G with associated Markov process X, then we construct OU-processes by adding negative horizontal gradient drifts of functions U. In the natural case U(x)=−logp(1,x), where p(1,x) is the density of the law of X starting at identity e at time t=1 with respect to the right-invariant Haar measure on G, we show the Poincaré inequality by applying the Driver-Melcher inequality for “sum of the squares” operators on Lie groups. The resulting Markov process is called the natural OU-process associated to the hypo-elliptic diffusion on G. We prove the global strong existence of these OU-type processes on G under an integrability assumption on U. The Poincaré inequality for a large class of potentials U is then shown by a perturbation technique. These results are applied to obtain a hypo-elliptic equivalent of standard results on cooling schedules for simulated annealing on compact homogeneous spaces M.  相似文献

Let (X,d,μ)(X,d,μ) be a complete metric measure space, with μ   a locally doubling measure, that supports a local weak L2L2-Poincaré inequality. By assuming a heat semigroup type curvature condition, we prove that Cheeger-harmonic functions are Lipschitz continuous on (X,d,μ)(X,d,μ). Gradient estimates for Cheeger-harmonic functions and solutions to a class of non-linear Poisson type equations are presented.  相似文献

We give a criterion for the logarithmic Sobolev inequality (LSI) on the product space X1×?×XN. We have in mind an N-site lattice, unbounded continuous spin variables, and Glauber dynamics. The interactions are described by the Hamiltonian H of the Gibbs measure. The criterion for LSI is formulated in terms of the LSI constants of the single-site conditional measures and the size of the off-diagonal entries of the Hessian of H. It is optimal for Gaussians with positive covariance matrix. To illustrate, we give two applications: one with weak interactions and one with strong interactions and a decay of correlations condition.  相似文献

We present a general criteria to prove that a probability measure satisfies a logarithmic Sobolev inequality, knowing that some of its marginals and associated conditional laws satisfy a logarithmic Sobolev inequality. This is a generalization of a result by N. Grunewald et al. [N. Grunewald, F. Otto, C. Villani, M.G. Westdickenberg, A two-scale approach to logarithmic Sobolev inequalities and the hydrodynamic limit, Ann. Inst. H. Poincaré Probab. Statist., in press].  相似文献

The present paper is concerned with the existence of multiple solutions for semi-linear corner-degenerate elliptic equations with subcritical conditions. First, we introduce the corner type weighted p-Sobolev spaces and discuss the properties of continuous embedding, compactness and spectrum. Then, we prove the corner type Sobolev inequality and Poincaré inequality, which are important in the proof of the main result.  相似文献

Friedrichs- and Poincaré-type inequalities are important and widely used in the area of partial differential equations and numerical analysis. Most of their proofs appearing in references are the argument of reduction to absurdity. In this paper, we give direct proofs of Friedrichs-type inequalities in H1(Ω) and Poincaré-type inequalities in some subspaces of W1,p(Ω). The dependencies of the inequality coefficients on the domain Ω and some sub-domains are illustrated explicitly.  相似文献

We study global regularity properties of invariant measures associated with second order differential operators in RN. Under suitable conditions, we prove global boundedness of the density, Sobolev regularity, a Harnack inequality and pointwise upper and lower bounds.  相似文献

We present the best constant and the extremal functions for an Improved Hardy-Sobolev inequality. We prove that, under a proper transformation, this inequality is equivalent to the Sobolev inequality in RN.  相似文献

We prove a general optimal Lp-Euclidean logarithmic Sobolev inequality by using Prékopa-Leindler inequality and a special Hamilton-Jacobi equation. In particular we generalize the inequality proved by Del Pino and Dolbeault in (J. Funt. Anal.).  相似文献

We show how to use Lyapunov functions to obtain functional inequalities which are stronger than Poincaré inequality (for instance logarithmic Sobolev or F-Sobolev). The case of Poincaré and weak Poincaré inequalities was studied in [D. Bakry, P. Cattiaux, A. Guillin, Rate of convergence for ergodic continuous Markov processes: Lyapunov versus Poincaré, J. Funct. Anal. 254 (3) (2008) 727-759. Available on Mathematics arXiv:math.PR/0703355, 2007]. This approach allows us to recover and extend in a unified way some known criteria in the euclidean case (Bakry and Emery, Wang, Kusuoka and Stroock, …).  相似文献

For any connected (not necessarily complete) Riemannian manifold, we construct a probability measure of type , where dx is the Riemannian volume measure and V is a function C-smooth outside a closed set of zero volume, satisfying Poincaré–Sobolev type functional inequalities. In particular, V is C-smooth on the whole manifold when the Poincaré and the super-Poincaré inequalities are considered. The Sobolev inequality for infinite measures are also studied.  相似文献

We present graphs that satisfy the uniform elliptic Harnack inequality, for harmonic functions, but not the stronger parabolic one, for solutions of the discrete heat equation. It is known that the parabolic Harnack inequality is equivalent to the conjunction of a volume regularity and a L 2 Poincaré inequality. The first example of graph satisfying the elliptic but not the parabolic Harnack inequality is due to M. Barlow and R. Bass. It satisfies the volume regularity and not the Poincaré inequality. We construct another example that does not satisfy the volume regularity.  相似文献
