The Derived Picard Group is a Locally Algebraic Group   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Let A be a finite-dimensional algebra over an algebraically closed field K. The derived Picard group DPic K (A) is the group of two-sided tilting complexes over A modulo isomorphism. We prove that DPic K (A) is a locally algebraic group, and its identity component is Out0 K (A). If B is a derived Morita equivalent algebra then DPic K (A)DPic K (B) as locally algebraic groups. Our results extend, and are based on, work of Huisgen-Zimmermann, Saorín and Rouquier.  相似文献

We show that, if a simple C*-algebra A is topologically finite-dimensional in a suitable sense, then not only K0(A) has certain good properties, but A is even accessible to Elliott’s classification program. More precisely, we prove the following results:If A is simple, separable and unital with finite decomposition rank and real rank zero, then K0(A) is weakly unperforated. If A has finite decomposition rank, real rank zero and the space of extremal tracial states is compact and zero-dimensional, then A has stable rank one and tracial rank zero. As a consequence, if B is another such algebra, and if A and B have isomorphic Elliott invariants and satisfy the Universal coefficients theorem, then they are isomorphic. In the case where A has finite decomposition rank and the space of extremal tracial states is compact and zero-dimensional, we also give a criterion (in terms of the ordered K0-group) for A to have real rank zero. As a byproduct, we show that there are examples of simple, stably finite and quasidiagonal C*-algebras with infinite decomposition rank.Supported by: EU-Network Quantum Spaces - Noncommutative Geometry (Contract No. HPRN-CT-2002-00280) and Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (SFB 478).  相似文献

We provide a straightforward proof of one of the main results of the Baum-Douglas K-homology theory: If A is a separable nuclear C *-algebra and I an ideal of A, then the natural restriction map K 0(A, I) K 0(I) is an isomorphism of Abelian groups.  相似文献

Let A be a complex, commutative Banach algebra and let MA be the structure space of A. Assume that there exists a continuous homomorphism h : L1(G) → A with dense range, where L1(G) is the group algebra of a locally compact abelian group G. The main results of this paper can be summarized as follows: (a) If the dual space A* has the Radon-Nikodym property, then MA is scattered (i.e., it has no nonempty perfect subset) and . (b) If the algebra A has an identity, then the space A* has the Radon-Nikodym property if and only if . Furthermore, any of these conditions implies that MA is scattered. Several applications are given. Received: 29 September 2005  相似文献

We generalize the Atiyah-Segal completion theorem to C *-algebras as follows. Let A be a C *-algebra with a continuous action of the compact Lie group G. If K * G (A) is finitely generated as an R(G)-module, or under other suitable restrictions, then the I(G)-adic completion K * G (A) is isomorphic to RK *([A C(EG)]G), where RK * is representable K-theory for - C *-algebras and EG is a classifying space for G. As a corollary, we show that if and are homotopic actions of G, and if K *(C * (G,A,)) and K *(C * (G,A,)) are finitely generated, then K *(C *(G,A,))K*(C * (G,A,)). We give examples to show that this isomorphism fails without the completions. However, we prove that this isomorphism does hold without the completions if the homotopy is required to be norm continuous. This work was partially supported by an NSF Graduate Fellowship and by an NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship.  相似文献

Let be the family of all compact sets in which have connected complement. For K ε M we denote by A(K) the set of all functions which are continuous on K and holomorphic in its interior.Suppose that {zn} is any unbounded sequence of complex numbers and let Q be a given sub-sequence of 0.If Q has density Δ(Q) = 1 then there exists a universal entire function with lacunary power series
1. (1) (z) = εv = 0 vZv, v = 0 for v Q, which has for all K ε M the following properties simultaneously
2. (2) the sequence {(Z + Zn)} is dense in A(K)
3. (3) the sequence { (ZZn)} is dense in A(K) if 0 K.
Also a converse result is proved: If is an entire function of the form (1) which satisfies (3), then Q must have maximal density Δmax(Q) = 1.  相似文献

It is shown that ifA andB are non-empty subsets of {0, 1} n (for somenεN) then |A+B|≧(|A||B|)α where α=(1/2) log2 3 here and in what follows. In particular if |A|=2 n-1 then |A+A|≧3 n-1 which anwers a question of Brown and Moran. It is also shown that if |A| = 2 n-1 then |A+A|=3 n-1 if and only if the points ofA lie on a hyperplane inn-dimensions. Necessary and sufficient conditions are also given for |A +B|=(|A||B|)α. The above results imply the following improvement of a result of Talagrand [7]: ifX andY are compact subsets ofK (the Cantor set) withm(X),m(Y)>0 then λ(X+Y)≧2(m(X)m(Y))α wherem is the usual measure onK and λ is Lebesgue measure. This also answers a question of Moran (in more precise terms) showing thatm is not concentrated on any proper Raikov system.  相似文献

For a weight function ω and a closed set A ? ?N let ?(ω)(A) denote the space of all ω-Whitney jets of Beurling type on A. It is shown that for each closed set A ? ?N there exists an ω-extension operator EA: ?(ω)(A) → ?(ω)(?N) if and only if ω is a (DN)-function (see MEISE and TAYLOR [18], 3.3). Moreover for a fixed compact set K ? ?N there exists an ω-extension operator EK: ?(ω)(K) → ?(ω)(?N) if and only if the Fréchet space ?(ω)(K) satisfies the property (DN) (see Vogt [29], 1.1.).  相似文献

Let X be a connected finite CW complex. We show that, given a positive homomorphism Hom(K *(C(X)), K *(A)) with [1 C(X)][1 A ], where A is a unital separable simple C *-algebra with real rank zero, stable rank one and weakly unperforated K 0(A), there exists a homomorphism h: C(X)A such that h induces . We also prove a structure result for unital separable simple C *-algebras A with real rank zero, stable rank one and weakly unperforated K 0(A), namely, there exists a simple AH-algebra of real rank zero contained in A which determines the K-theory of A.  相似文献

For a reductive group scheme G over a regular semi-local ring A, we prove the Gersten conjecture for the equivariant K-theory. As a consequence, we show that if F is the field of fractions of A, then KG0(A) @ KG0(F){K^G_0(A) \cong K^G_0(F)}, generalizing the analogous result for a dvr by Serre (Inst Hautes études Sci Publ Math 34:37–52, 1968). We also show the rigidity for the K-theory with finite coefficients of a Henselian local ring in the equivariant setting. We use this rigidity theorem to compute the equivariant K-theory of algebraically closed fields.  相似文献

It is proved that if a K?the space λ1(A) is distinguished and E is an arbitrary Fréchet space then every reflexive map T: λ1(A)→E (i.e., T maps bounded sets into relatively weakly compact ones) factorizes through a reflexive Fréchet space. An analogous result is proved for Montel maps (i.e., which map bounded sets into relatively compact ones). The result is a consequence of the fact proved also in this paper that, for a distinguished λ1(A) space, the spaces of reflexive maps R1(A), C(K)) and of Montel maps M1(A), C(K)) are the Mackey completions of the spaces of weakly compact and compact maps, respectively. Consequences for spaces of vector-valued (weakly) continuous functions are also obtained. Received: 24 November 1997 / Revised version: 14 May 1998  相似文献

Let A be a C*-algebra. For a A let D(a, A) denote the innerderivation induced by a, regarded as a bounded operator on A,and let d(a, Z(A)) denote the distance of a from Z(A), the centreof A. Let K(A) be the smallest number in [0, ] such that d(a,Z(A)) K(A)||D(a, A)|| for all a A. It is shown that if A isnon-commutative and has an identity then either K(A) = , or K(A) = 1 / 3, or K(A) 1. Necessaryand sufficient conditions for these three possibilities aregiven in terms of the primitive and primal ideals of A. If Ais a quotient of an AW*-algebra then K(A) . Helly's Theorem is used to show that if A is aweakly central C*-algebra then K(A) 1.  相似文献

LetK be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. ForAK[x, y] let σ(A) = {λ ∈K:A − λ is reducible}. For λ ∈ σ(A) letA − λ = ∏ i=1 n(λ) A iλ k μ whereA iλ are distinct primes. Let ϱλ(A) =n(λ) − 1 and let ρ(A) = Σλɛσ(A)ϱλ(A). The main result is the following: Theorem.If A ∈ K[x, y] is not a composite polynomial, then ρ(A) < degA.  相似文献

Summary LetA be a regular arithmetical convolution andk a positive integer. LetA k (r) = {d: d k A(r k )}, and letf A k g denote the convolution of arithmetical functionsf andg with respect toA k . A pair (f, g) of arithmetical functions is calledadmissible if(f A k g)(m) 0 for allm and if the functions satisfy an arithmetical functional equation which generalizes the Brauer—Rademacher identity. Necessary and sufficient conditions are found for a pair (f, g) of multiplicative functions to be admissible, and it follows that, if(f A k g)(m) 0 f(m) for allm, then (f, g) is admissible if and only if itsdual pair (f A k g, g –1 ) is admissible.Iff andg –1 areA k -multiplicative (a condition stronger than being multiplicative), and(f A k g)(m) 0 for allm, then (f, g) is admissible, calledCohen admissible. Its dual pair is calledSubbarao admissible. If (f A k g) –1 (m) 0 itsinverse pair (g –1 , f –1 ) is also Cohen admissible.Ifg is a multiplicative function then there exists a multiplicative functionf such that the pair (f, g) is admissible if and only if for everyA k -primitive prime powerp i either (i)g(p i ) 0 or (ii)g(p ) = 0 for allp havingA k -type equal tot. There is a similar kind of characterization of the multiplicative functions which are first components of admissible pairs of multiplicative functions. IfA k is not the unitary convolution, then there exist multiplicative functionsg which satisfy (i) and are such that neitherg norg –1 isA k -multiplicative: hence there exist admissible pairs of multiplicative functions which are neither Cohen admissible nor Subbarao admissible. An arithmetical functionf is said to be anA k -totient if there areA k -multiplicative functionsf T andf V such thatf = f T A k f V -1 Iff andg areA k -totients with(f A k g)(m) 0 for allm, and iff V = g T , then the pair (f, g) is admissible. The class of such admissible pairs includes many pairs which are neither Cohen admissible nor Subbarao admissible. If (f, g) is a pair in this class, and iff(m), (f A k g) –1 (m), g –1 (m),f –1 (m) andg(m) are all nonzero for allm, then its dual, its inverse, the dual of its inverse, the inverse of its dual and the inverse of the dual of its inverse are also admissible, and in many cases these six pairs are distinct.A number of related results, and many examples, are given.  相似文献

Let X be a connected finite CW complex and d X : K 0(C(X)) →ℤ be the dimension function. We show that, if A is a unital separable simple nuclear C*-algebra of TR(A) = 0 with the unique tracial state and satisfying the UCT such that K 0(A) = ℚ⊕ kerd x and K 1(A) = K 1(C(X)), then A is isomorphic to an inductive limit of M n !(C(X)). Straight Rings
A (commutative integral) domain is called a straight domain if A ? B is a prime morphism for each overring B of A; a (commutative unital) ring A is called a straight ring if A/P is a straight domain for all P ∈ Spec(A). A domain is a straight ring if and only if it is a straight domain. The class of straight rings sits properly between the class of locally divided rings and the class of going-down rings. An example is given of a two-dimensional going-down domain that is not a straight domain. The classes of straight rings, of locally divided rings, and of going-down rings coincide within the universe of seminormal weak Baer rings (for instance, seminormal domains). The class of straight rings is stable under formation of homomorphic images, rings of fractions, and direct limits. The “straight domain" property passes between domains having the same prime spectrum. Straight domains are characterized within the universe of conducive domains. If A is a domain with a nonzero ideal I and quotient field K, characterizations are given for A ? (I: K I) to be a prime morphism. If A is a domain and P ∈ Spec(A) such that A P is a valuation domain, then the CPI-extension C(P) := A + PA P is a straight domain if and only if A/P is a straight domain. If A is a going-down domain and P ∈ Spec(A), characterizations are given for A ? C(P) to be a prime morphism. Consequences include divided domain-like behavior of arbitrary straight domains.  相似文献

We show that if A is a representation-finite selfinjective Artin algebra, then every P ? ? K b(𝒫 A ) with Hom K(Mod?A)(P ?,P ?[i]) = 0 for i ≠ 0 and add(P ?) = add(νP ?) is a direct summand of a tilting complex, and that if A, B are derived equivalent representation-finite selfinjective Artin algebras, then there exists a sequence of selfinjective Artin algebras A = B 0, B 1,…, B m  = B such that, for any 0 ≤ i < m, B i+1 is the endomorphism algebra of a tilting complex for B i of length ≤ 1.  相似文献

The theory of continued fractions of functions is used to give a lower bound for class numbers h(D) of general real quadratic function fields K=k(D)over k=Fq(T).For five series of real quadratic function fields K,the bounds of h(D)are given more explicitly,e.g.,if D=F^2 C.then h(D)≥degF/degP;if D=(SG)^2 cS.then h(D)≥degS/degP;if D=(A^m a)^2 A,then h(D)≥degA/degP,where P is an irreducible polynomial splitting in K,c∈Fq.In addition, three types of quadratic function fields K are found to have ideal class numbers bigger than one.  相似文献

If K is a number field of degree n over Q with discriminant D K and if α∈K generates K, i.e. K=Q(α), then the height of α satisfies with . The paper deals with the existence of small generators of number fields in this sense. We show: (1) For each $n$ there are infinitely many number fields K of degree $n$ with a generator α such that . (2) There is a constant d 2 such that every imaginary quadratic number field has a generator α which satisfies .?(3) If K is a totally real number field of prime degree n then one can find an integral generator α with .
