Given $$\alpha >0$$, we establish the following two supercritical Moser–Trudinger inequalities $$\begin{aligned} \mathop {\sup }\limits _{ u \in W^{1,n}_{0,\mathrm{rad}}(B): \int _B |\nabla u|^n dx \le 1 } \int _B \exp \big ( (\alpha _n + |x|^\alpha ) |u|^{\frac{n}{n-1}} \big ) dx < +\infty \end{aligned}$$and $$\begin{aligned} \mathop {\sup }\limits _{ u\in W^{1,n}_{0,\mathrm{rad}}(B): \int _B |\nabla u|^n dx \le 1 } \int _B \exp \big ( \alpha _n |u|^{\frac{n}{n-1} + |x|^\alpha } \big ) dx < +\infty , \end{aligned}$$where $$W^{1,n}_{0,\mathrm{rad}}(B)$$ is the usual Sobolev spaces of radially symmetric functions on B in $${\mathbb {R}}^n$$ with $$n\ge 2$$. Without restricting to the class of functions $$W^{1,n}_{0,\mathrm{rad}}(B)$$, we should emphasize that the above inequalities fail in $$W^{1,n}_{0}(B)$$. Questions concerning the sharpness of the above inequalities as well as the existence of the optimal functions are also studied. To illustrate the finding, an application to a class of boundary value problems on balls is presented. This is the second part in a set of our works concerning functional inequalities in the supercritical regime.  相似文献

We prove that there exists no irreducible representation of the identity component of the isometry group $${\mathrm{PO}}(1,n)$$ of the real hyperbolic space of dimension n into the group $${\mathrm{O}}(2,\infty )$$ if $$n\ge 3$$. This is motivated by the existence of irreducible representations (arising from the spherical principal series) of $${\mathrm{PO}}(1,n)^{\circ }$$ into the groups $${\mathrm{O}}(p,\infty )$$ for other values of p.  相似文献

By means of the supersolution and subsolution method and monotone iteration technique, the following nonlinear elliptic boundary problem with the nonlocal boundary conditions is considerd. The sufficient conditions which ensure at least one solution are given. For a degree 2n real d-dimensional multisequence to have a representing measure μ, it is necessary for the associated moment matrix to be positive semidefinite and for the algebraic variety associated to β, , to satisfy rank card as well as the following consistency condition: if a polynomial vanishes on , then . For μ(x) ∈ Z/(p)[x] with deg(μ(x)) ≥ 2 and gcd(1 deg(μ(x)),p- 1) = 1,set ψe-1 (x0, x1,…, xe-1) = xe-1·[ μ(xe-2) ηe-3 (x0, x1,…, xe-3)] ηe-2 (x0, x1,…, xe-2),which is a function of e variables over Z/(p). Then the compressing map ψe-1: G'(f(x),pe) → (Z/(p))∞,(a) (→)ψe-1((a)0, (a)1,… ,(a)e-1) is injective. The paper deals with the following boundary problem of the second order quasilinear hyperbolic equation with a dissipative boundary condition on a part of the boundary:u_(tt)-sum from i,j=1 to n a_(ij)(Du)u_(x_ix_j)=0, in (0, ∞)×Ω,u|Γ_0=0,sum from i,j=1 to n, a_(ij)(Du)n_ju_x_i+b(Du)u_t|Γ_1=0,u|t=0=φ(x), u_t|t=0=ψ(x), in Ω, where Ω=Γ_0∪Γ_1, b(Du)≥b_0>0. Under some assumptions on the equation and domain, the author proves that there exists a global smooth solution for above problem with small data.  相似文献

Let G = (V, E) be a any simple, undirected graph on n ≥ 3 vertices with the degree sequence . We consider the class of graphs satisfying the condition where , is a positive integer. It is known that is hamiltonian if θ ≤ δ. In this paper,
(i)  we give a necessary and sufficient condition, easy to check, ensuring that is nonhamiltonian and we characterize all the exceptional sub-classes.
(ii)  we prove that is either bipartite or contains cycles of all lengths from 3 to c(G), the length of a longest cycle in G.

In this paper, we continue our investigation on “Extremal problems under dimension constraints” introduced [1]. The general problem we deal with in this paper can be formulated as follows. Let be an affine plane of dimension k in . Given determine or estimate .Here we consider and solve the problem in the special case where is a hyperplane in and the “forbidden set” . The same problem is considered for the case, where is a hyperplane passing through the origin, which surprisingly turns out to be more difficult. We will show in this article that for a smooth function f:M→R with compact support in M0, the integral \(\int_{\mathrm{P}}\)f(y)p\(_{t}^{\mathrm{M}_{0}}\)(x,y)π(dy) generalizes the usual Dirichlet heat kernel and has an asymptotic expansion of the form:

where π is the Riemannian measure on P and q t (x,P) is defined in Eq. 2.7. The asymptotic expansion is then extended to \(\int_{\mathrm{P}}\)f(y)p\(_{t}^{\mathrm{M}}\)(x,y)π(dy). The above expansion generalizes the usual Minakshisundaram–Pleijel heat kernel expansion and a computation of the leading expansion coefficients suggests that it is also a generalization of the heat content expansion. The expansion coefficients are local geometric invariants given by simple integrals of the derivatives of the metric tensor and the volume change factor θ P . The leading coefficients are then computed in terms of the Riemannian geometry in the neighbourhood of the submanifold P at the centre of Fermi coordinates y0?∈?P.

Let \(a_{\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }}(n)\) denote the nth Dirichlet series coefficient of the principal L-function associated to \(\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }\). In this paper, we study first moments of Dirichlet series coefficients of automorphic representations \(\mathrm{sym}^3 \pi _{\varphi }\) of \(\text {GL}_{4}(\mathbb {A}_{\mathbb {Q}})\), and \(\pi _{\psi }\otimes \mathrm{sym}^2 \pi _{\varphi }\) of \(\text {GL}_{6}(\mathbb {A}_{\mathbb {Q}})\). For \(3 \le j \le 8\), estimates for \(|a_{\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }}(n)|\) on average over a short interval have also been established.  相似文献
