We study permanence properties of the classes of stable and so-called -stable -algebras, respectively. More precisely, we show that a (X)-algebra A is stable if all its fibres are, provided that the underlying compact metrizable space X has finite covering dimension or that the Cuntz semigroup of A is almost unperforated (a condition which is automatically satisfied for -algebras absorbing the Jiang–Su algebra tensorially). Furthermore, we prove that if is a K
1-injective strongly self-absorbing -algebra, then A absorbs tensorially if and only if all its fibres do, again provided that X is finite-dimensional. This latter statement generalizes results of Blanchard and Kirchberg. We also show that the condition
on the dimension of X cannot be dropped. Along the way, we obtain a useful characterization of when a -algebra with weakly unperforated Cuntz semigroup is stable, which allows us to show that stability passes to extensions of
-absorbing -algebras.

In recent work we constructed two new near octagons, one related to the finite simple group \(\mathrm {G}_2(4)\) and another one as a sub-near-octagon of the former. In the present paper, we give a direct construction of this sub-near-octagon using a split extension of the group \(\mathrm {L}_3(4)\). We derive several geometric properties of this \(\mathrm {L}_3(4)\) near octagon, and determine its full automorphism group. We also prove that the \(\mathrm {L}_3(4)\) near octagon is closely related to the second subconstituent of the distance-regular graph on 486 vertices discovered by Soicher (Eur J Combin 14:501–505, 1993). 相似文献

In this paper we prove that if E and F are reflexive Banach spaces and G is a closed linear subspace of the space \(\mathcal {L}_{K}(E;F)\) of all compact linear operators from E into F, then G is either reflexive or non-isomorphic to a dual space. This result generalizes (Israel J Math 21:38-49, 1975, Theorem 2) and gives the solution to a problem posed by Feder (Ill J Math 24:196-205, 1980, Problem 1). We also prove that if E and F are reflexive Banach spaces, then the space \(\mathcal {P}_{w}(^{n}E;F)\) of all n-homogeneous polynomials from E into F which are weakly continuous on bounded sets is either reflexive or non-isomorphic to a dual space. 相似文献

In 2005, Ginzburg, Rallis and Soudry constructed, in terms of residues of certain Eisenstein series, and by use of the descent method, families of nontempered automorphic representations of $Sp_{4nm} (\mathbb{A})$ and $\widetilde{Sp}_{2n(2m - 1)} (\mathbb{A})$ , which generalized the classical work of Piatetski-Shapiro on Saito-Kurokawa liftings. In this paper, we introduce a new framework (Diagrams of Constructions) in order to establish explicit relations among the representations introduced in [GRS05]. In particular, we prove that these constructions yield bijections between a certain set of cuspidal automorphic forms on $\widetilde{Sp}_{2n} (\mathbb{A})$ and a certain set of square-integrable automorphic forms of $Sp_{4n} (\mathbb{A})$ . The proofs use new interpretations of composition of two consecutive descents with explicit identities, which we expect to be very useful to further investigation of the automorphic discrete spectrum of classical groups. 相似文献

Hytönen, the authors prove that the product \(f\times g\) of \(f\in H^1_\mathrm{at}({\mathcal X})\) and \(g\in \mathrm {BMO}({\mathcal X})\), viewed as a distribution, can be written into a sum of two bounded bilinear operators, respectively, from \(H^1_\mathrm{at}({\mathcal X})\times \mathrm {BMO}({\mathcal X})\) into \(L^1({\mathcal X})\) and from \(H^1_\mathrm{at}({\mathcal X}) \times \mathrm {BMO}({\mathcal X})\) into \(H^{\log }({\mathcal X})\), which affirmatively confirms the conjecture suggested by A.
