Experimentally determined critical loads are presented for simply supported square plates with a circular central hole under the action of uniform edge displacements for hole diameters varying up to seventenths the dimension of the plate. The critical load is defined as the inflection point on the load-deflection curve as measured by a set of dial gages at the edge of the hole. Least-squares-curve fitting techniques are used for reducing all experimental data and the entire set of computations is carried out on the electronic digital computer. Finally, it is shown that the experimental results agree well with the theoretical critical loads as determined by the Ritz energy method.  相似文献

A dynamic method for predicting the buckling load of an elastic column is formulated. The method is based on the integral-equation representation of a column with varying cross section and elastic springs at the boundaries. The experimental inputs are the dynamic properties of the unloaded column (trequencies, mode shapes and masses). The buckling loads predicted for three tested configurations agreed well with loads defined by other static and dynamic methods.  相似文献

Summary We discuss briefly a sufficient condition for hadamard stability, proposed by Holden and applied by the same Author to the evaluation of lower bounds for the critical load of elastic bodies subject to a prescribed deformation process.A refinement of the method leads to an improved condition of stability, which is also more simple in form. When applied to a body in simple compression, the new condition yields the same estimate of the critical load as Holden's condition, whereas a substantial improvement is found in the case of simple extension.
Riassunto Si discute brevemente una condizione sufficiente per la stabilità secondo Hadamard, proposta da Holden e dallo stesso applicata alla delimitazione inferiore del carico critico di un corpo elastico soggetto a un processo deformativo preassegnato.Viene successivamente dedotta una condizione sufficiente più semplice e, nello stesso tempo, più larga della precedente. Nel caso di un corpo soggetto a compressione uniforme, essa dà una stima del carico critico coincidente con quella di Holden, mentre, nel caso di trazione uniforme, dà luogo ad una stima nettamente migliore.

由于路面不平整,车辆会以一定的频率和振幅在路面上运动,研究简谐移动荷载作用下单相弹性地基的动态响应具有更加现实的意义。将移动单元法引入到单相弹性介质的半解析方法中,构造了随荷载以相同速度运动的移动层单元。基于移动坐标下单相弹性介质的动力控制方程和边界条件,应用加权残数法建立了简谐移动荷载下单相弹性介质的三维动态响应半解析方程;将固定坐标下的动力问题转化为移动坐标下的拟静力问题,数值分析了简谐移动荷载作用下单相弹性地基的动态响应及其参数的影响。计算结果表明:在简谐移动荷载作用下,当无阻尼或小阻尼时,位移幅值随着速度变化不是单调递增或递减。当速度在瑞利波波速附近时,会出现各位移幅值的极大值(或第一极大值);当阻尼较大时,位移随着速度增加变化缓慢。这说明阻尼和频率的共同作用会有效地抑制位移幅值响应。研究结果表明本文所提供半解析移动单元法是研究简谐移动荷载下介质动态响应的一种简单有效的方法。  相似文献

A simple computer-interfaced optical system for measuring the dynamic-local-buckling deformation of thin-walled metal structural-plate elements is described in this paper with two sets of experimental results. In this paper the non-linear response of thin elastic plates under parametric excitation is investigated. A new analytical method is proposed. It gives the possibility to obtain all the characteristic features of the phenomenon considered, which are known from experiments—the existing of beats, their dependence on the excitation parameter, the influence of the initial conditions, the typical character of the vibrations in the different regions. Analog computer studies are carried out, and they show clearly the influence of different parameters on the output of the problem considered.  相似文献

Summary The aim of the contribution is to formulate an engineering theory describing the dynamic behaviour of periodically waved shell-like elements, called wavy plates. On the basis of the proposed theory, the effect of coupling between free macro- and micro-vibrations of a wavy plate is investigated. A uniqueness theorem for the solution of a nonlinear initial-boundary value problem for a time dependent form of von Karman's equations is proven. These equations are two coupled nonlinear fourth order partial differential equations which describe the bending of an elastic plate. The result is proved by the method of energy integrals.  相似文献

Summary The steady-state response of an inifinite plate strip on a foundation of Kelvin material to a moving harmonic line load is presented. The line of application of the load is perpendicular to the infinite edges of the plate, and the load moves parallel to the edges at constant speed. The equations of motion for the plate are those of Mindlin, and they are solved by the integral transform technique. The uniqueness and existence of the physically reasonable solution for any speed of the moving load are discussed. The transient response of the same plate, but with semi-infinite length, is formulated as a mixed initial-boundary value problem. A numerical solution by the method of characteristics is proposed. The propagation of stress discontinuities along wave fronts is also investigated.
Übersicht Es wird das Verhalten eines unendlich langen Plattenstreifens auf einem Fundament aus Kelvin-Material unter einer sich bewegenden, harmonisch über die Breite verteilten Linienlast nach Erreichung des Beharrungszustandes beschrieben. Die Angriffslinie der Last steht senkrecht auf den unendlich langen Kanten der Platte; die Last bewegt sich parallel zu den Kanten mit gleichförmiger Geschwindigkeit. Die Bewegungsgleichungen für die Platte sind dieselben wie die von Mindlin; sie werden durch eine Integral-Transformation gelöst. Die Eindeutigkeit und Existenz der physikalisch sinnvollen Lösung für beliebige Geschwindigkeiten der wandernden Last werden diskutiert. Der Einschwingvorgang derselben, von Null bis ins Unendliche erstreckten Platte wird als gemischtes Anfangs-Grenzwert-Problem behandelt. Eine numerische Lösung mit Hilfe des Charakteristiken-Verfahrens wird vorgeschlagen. Das Fortschreiten von Spannungssprüngen längs Wellenfronten wird ebenfalls untersucht.

Chebyshev polynomials are used to solve the problem of large deflection for corrugated circular plates with a plane central region under arbitrary loads based on the nonlinear bending theory of anisotropic circular plates. This paper deals with the homogenization of thin elastic plates weakened by periodically distributed fissures. The classical Kirchhoff theory of bending plates admits five different types of unilateral fissures. To derive effective properties of fissured plates we employ the asymptotic method. As a result we obtain five effective hyperelastic plates. An illustrative example concerns the homogenization of the plate with unidirectional fissures parallel to a straight line. The constitutive equation describing the effective plate is found provided that fissures are of the flexural type resembling that observed in reinforced concrete plates in bending.  相似文献
