Using full-potential linear-muffin-tin-orbital molecular-dynamics (FP-LMTO-MD) method, we have investigated the dependence of GaAs clusters with eight atoms on composition. It is found that the ground state structures for Ga-rich and As-rich clusters are cube structures. As the ratio between gallium atoms and arsenic atoms is close to one, structural distortion become increasingly severe, or even the clusters adopt other geometrical configurations as their ground state structures. The energy gap Eg between the highest-occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and the lowest-unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO), and the vertical electron affinity show a certain degree of even/odd alternation with cluster composition. Among nine Ga8−nAsn (n=0-8) clusters, only a few of clusters have different energy orders between the ionic and neutral isomers with large binding energy. Some ionic structures would change into other configurations due to severe structural distortion.  相似文献

Using the first principles calculations, the mixed Au n Zn m + (n + m ?? 6) cluster cations and their monocarbonyls Au n Zn m CO+ have been investigated at the PW91 level. For the small Au n Zn m + , most ground-state isomers are planar structures. A significant odd-even oscillation of the highest occupied-lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energy gaps with the number of Au atoms is observed. Upon CO adsorption, the top site and C head-on adsorptions are most favorable in energy. Moreover, the optimized geometries indicate that the CO molecule prefers binding to Au atom of the Au n Zn m + clusters, which can be understood by the frontier molecular orbital theory in detail. From the theoretical calculations, the CO charge population, CO binding energy (BE) and the Gibbs free-energy change ??G generally decrease with the increase of the Zn content. It is found that the BE is highly related to the electron transfer between CO and the cluster cations. Furthermore, a linear correlation between ??G and the CO BE is found. The red shift in the CO stretching frequency is sensitive to the cluster size and composition. Our calculation suggests that CO reactive collision on Au3Zn+ and Au2Zn 2 + may lead to the dissociation of the clusters with a Zn atom loss.  相似文献

Valence band photoemission spectroscopy (VB-PES) and inverse photoemission spectroscopy (IPES) were employed to determine the occupied and unoccupied density of states upon silver deposition onto layers of two phthalocyanines (H2Pc and CuPc). The two different Pc molecules give rise to very distinct behaviour already during the initial stage of silver deposition. While in the CuPc case no shift occurs in the energy levels, the H2Pc highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) are shifting simultaneously by 0.3 eV, i.e., the HOMO shifts away from the Fermi level while LUMO shifts towards the Fermi level. As the silver quantity increases the HOMO levels of both Pcs are shifting towards the Fermi level. When the Fermi level is resolved in the VB spectra, the characteristic features of H2Pc and CuPc are smeared out to some extent. Shifts in HOMO and LUMO energy positions as well as changes in line shapes are discussed in terms of charge-transfer and chemical reactions at the interfaces.  相似文献

采用密度泛函理论(density functional theory, DFT) 在B3LYP/LANL2DZ基组水平上对钨团簇吸附CO分子进行了系统研究. 结果表明, WnCO团簇的基态结构是在Wn团簇中性或阴离子基态结构的基础上吸附CO生长而成; CO的吸附以端位吸附为主,桥位吸附为辅; CO分子在Wn团簇表面发生的是非解离性吸附. 与优化的CO键长(0.116 nm)相比,吸附后C-O键长变长(0.120–0.123 nm), 表明吸附后C-O键被削弱, CO分子被活化了.稳定性分析表明,在所研究的团簇中, W3CO和W5CO团簇的稳定性较强;自然键轨道(NBO)分析表明, W原子与CO分子相互作用的本质是CO分子内的杂化轨道与W原子6s, 5d, 6p和6d轨道相互作用的结果. 关键词: nCO (n= 1–6)团簇')" href="#">WnCO (n= 1–6)团簇 基态构型 稳定性 电子性质  相似文献

The structures, spectra and electronic and magnetic properties of Ag4M and Ag4MCO (M?=?Sc–Zn) clusters have been studied using density functional theory and CALYPSO structure searching method. Structural searches show that M atoms except Zn tend to occupy the highest coordination position in the ground state Ag4M and Ag4MCO clusters. Carbon monoxide is most easily adsorbed on Ag atom of Ag4Zn and M atom of other Ag4M. Infrared and Raman spectra, photoabsorption spectra and photoelectron spectra of Ag4M and Ag4MCO clusters are forecasted and can be used to identify these clusters from experiment. Analysis of electronic properties indicates that the adsorption of CO on Ag4M clusters changes the zero vibrational energy (ZPVE) and increases stability of the host clusters. Dopant atoms except for Zn improve the stability of silver cluster. The Ag4Ni cluster shows high chemical activity and maximum adsorption energy for carbon monoxide. Magnetism calculations reveal that the magnetic moment of Ag4M (M?=?Mn–Ni) cluster adsorbed by carbon monoxide is decreased by 2 μB. The change of magnetic moment makes it possible to be used as a nanomaterial for carbon monoxide detection. Simultaneously, it is found that the adsorption of CO on Ag4Cu cluster is a physical adsorption.  相似文献

A self-consistent theory for calculation of built-in voltage (Ubi) of metal–organic semiconductor–metal (MOSM) structures is developed based on Gaussian energy distribution of highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO). It is shown that the built-in voltage depends not only on the work function difference of the two electrodes, but also on the mean energy level of HOMO and LUMO, as well as the Gaussian width of the energy distribution. The theory predicts that the spreading of HOMO and LUMO levels will results in an increase of Ubi, and that Ubi decreases with increasing temperature.  相似文献

对S原子采用6-311++G**基组,Sn原子采用SDB-cc-pVTZ基组,利用密度泛函(B3P86)方法对SnS分子进行了基态结构优化,并研究了外场作用下SnS基态分子键长、能量、能级分布、电荷布居分布、谐振频率和红外谱强度的影响规律.然后利用含时密度泛函(TD-B3P86)方法研究了SnS分子在外场下的激发特性.结果表明,在所加的电场范围内(-0.04 a.u.-0.04 a.u.),随着正向电场的增大,分子键长和红外谱强度均是先减小后增大;总能E,SnS基态分子的最高已占据轨道能量EH和谐振频率均是先增大后减小;分子的最低未占空轨道能量EL和能隙Eg均随正向电场的增大而减小.随着正向电场的增大,SnS分子由基态至前9个单重激发态跃迁的波长增大,激发能则减小.  相似文献

A series of Schiff-bases chromophores containing imine or double C=C bond linkers between the donor and acceptor have been studied by first-principles calculations. The molecular structures, electronic properties and second order nonlinearities were investigated by DFT and ab initio methods. The optimized structural parameters of these Schiff-base derivates showed that these compounds are stable. The results of TD-DFT calculations indicate that the derivatives with the heterocyclic and imine linker have a red shift absorption compared to derivatives with the double C=C or N=N bonds. The analysis of the frontier molecular orbitals indicates that the CN group and the heterocycle linked by the CN or imine group has contribution to the LUMO orbital while the groups N(CH3)2 and the benzene ring linked by the double C=C or N=N bond have contribution to the HOMO orbital. The CN and the heterocyclic acceptors enable the derivatives to have a larger first static hyperpolarizability. However, the compounds 3-{4-[(4-Dimethylamino-phenylimino)-methyl]-pyridin-1-yl}-propanel-1-sulfonoperoxoic acid and 3-{4-[(4-Dimethylamino-phenylimino)-methyl]-quinolin-1-yl}propanel-1-sulfonoperoxoic acid with a substituent also have large first static hyperpolarizabilities due to the overwhelming contributions of electron density of the group to the HOMO orbital, that is, the HOMO orbital were constituted by the SO 3 ? group only. In order to understand the influence of the energy gap (??E) between the HOMO and the LUMO orbitals on the first static hyperpolarizability, we calculated the energy gap (??E) of all Schiff-base compounds. The results show that the smaller the HOMO-LUMO energy gap the larger the first static hyperpolarizability. The present study demonstrated that these compounds which have pure C=N double bond and heterocyclic substitution groups may have potential applications in the development of NLO materials.  相似文献

The structural, electronic, and magnetic properties of transition metal doped platinum clusters MPt6 (M=Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn) are systematically studied by using the relativistic all-electron density functional theory with the generalized gradient approximation. Most of the doped clusters show larger binding energies than the pure Pt7 cluster, which indicates that the doping of the transition metal atom can stabilize the pure platinum cluster. The results of the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) gaps suggest that the doped clusters can have higher chemical activities than the pure Pt7 cluster. The magnetism calculations demonstrate that the variation range of the magnetic moments of the MPt6 clusters is from 0 μB to 7 μB, revealing that the MPt6 clusters have potential utility in designing new spintronic nanomaterials with tunable magnetic properties.  相似文献

Ab initio Molecular Dynamics (MD) method, based on density functional theory (DFT) with planewaves and pseudopotentials, was used to study the stability and internal motion in silver cluster Agn, with n =4-6. Calculations on the neutral, cationic and anionic silver dimer Ag2 show that the bond distance and vibrational frequency calculated by DFT are of good quality. Simulations of Ag4, Ag5, and Ag6 in canonical ensemble reveal distinct characteristics and isomerization paths for each cluster. At a temperature of 800 K, an Ag4 has no definite structure due to internal motion, while for Ag5 and Ag6the clusters maintain the planar structure, with atomic rearrangement observed for Ag5 but not for Ag6. At a temperature of 200 K, Ag4 can exist in two planar structures whilst Ag5 is found to be stable only in the planar form. In contrast Ag6 is stable in both planar trigonal and 3D pentagonal structures. Micro-canonical MD simulation was performed for all three clusters to obtain the vibrational density of states (DOS). We explore the lowest energy structures and investigate the structural and electronic properties of small AgN (N = 1–10) clusters by employing an ab-initio self-consistent density functional method in the local density approximation. The calculation of binding energy, bond length and the energy difference of HOMO–LUMO states have been carried out in a large energy interval for different isomeric forms of Ag clusters. The cluster binding energies increases rapidly with cluster size, which is consistent with the size dependence properties of clusters but our values are slightly higher than the other calculations.  相似文献

The equilibrium geometric structures, stabilities and electronic properties of Si2Agn (n = 1–8) and pure silver Agn (n ≤ 10) clusters have been systematically investigated by using meta-generalised gradient approximation. Due to sp3 hybridisation, the lowest energy structures of Si2Agn clusters for n > 2 favour the three-dimensional structure. The silicon atoms prefer to be located at the surface of the host silver clusters. By analysing the relative stabilities, it is found that the di-bridged structure Si2Ag2 isomer is the most stable structure for Si2Agn (n = 1–8) clusters. The highest occupied–lowest unoccupied molecular orbital gaps, exhibiting a pronounced even–odd alternation, indicate that the doped clusters with even number of atoms have enhanced chemical stability than those with odd number of atoms. The results of Wiberg bond indices and electronic localisation function show that the stronger Si–Si and Si–Ag interaction may be the main driving force for the higher stability of Si2Agn clusters.  相似文献

Recently, triphenylamine (TPA), 4,4′-bis(phenyl-m-tolylamino)biphenyl (TPD), 4,4′-bis(1-naphthylphenylamino)biphenyl (NPB) and their derivatives are widely used in the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) devices as a hole-transporting material (HTM) layer. We have optimized twenty different structures of HTM materials by using density functional theory (DFT), B3LYP/6-31G method. All these different structures contain mono-amine and diamine TPA derivatives. The energies of highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) along with molecular orbitals for these HTMs are also determined. We have found that the central amine nitrogen atom and the phenyl ring, which is next to the central amine nitrogen atom, show significant contribution to the HOMO and LUMO, respectively. The sum of the calculated bond angles (α+β+γ) of the central amine nitrogen atom has been applied to describe the bonding and the energy difference for HOMO and LUMO in these TPA derivatives. Electronic structure calculations have been performed for these TPA derivatives. Again, the LCAO-MO patterns of HOMO and LUMO levels of these derivatives are used to investigate their electron density. A series of electron-transporting steps are predicted for these compounds employing these calculated results.  相似文献

The electronic and geometrical structures of neutral and charged YOn (n=2–12) clusters have been investigated using density functional theory (DFT) with generalized gradient approximation. The oxygen atom in YOn has been found to be in oxo, peroxo and in superoxo forms. The geometrical structures and topologies of small size anionic clusters resemble that of neutral clusters. Yttrium showed higher coordination number than scandium. Computed results reveal the existence of YO10 cluster to have a penta-peroxo oxygen with a homoleptic Y(η2 –O2)5 geometrical configuration. The HOMO–LUMO gaps decrease with increasing n due to the increase in 2p orbital population of oxygen atoms. It has been shown that in these clusters bonding are predominantly ionic in nature and anions are thermodynamically more stable, due to the charge delocalization between the metal atom and oxygen ligands. YO10+ and YO12+ were found to be highly exothermic to release one and two oxygen molecules, while YO11+ dissociates though the ozonide dissociation channel. Computed absorption spectra of small clusters are mainly contributed by yttrium metal d and s valence orbitals. The absorbance spectra, shifts towards lower energy with cluster size increase, while charge has no substantial effect on the absorption spectrum.  相似文献

We studied the effect of Hartree-Fock (HF) exchange percentage of a density functional on the adsorption properties and electronic sensitivity of the B12N12 nanocluster to CO molecule. It was found that by an increase in the %HF, the LUMO level is nearly constant while the HOMO level is strongly stabilized, expanding the HOMO-LUMO gap (Eg). Also, the volume of the all structures decreased and the sensitivity of the B12N12 is slightly increased to CO molecule. For the pristine B12N12 cluster, the B66 and B64 bonds are about 1.43 and 1.49 Å at 10% HF, and 1.23 and 1.26 Å at 100% HF, respectively. The HF exchange between 10–20% may predict an accurate Eg for the B12N12 system. We concluded that functionals with a large %HF such as M06-HF, and M06-2X may significantly overestimate the Eg, and bond strength. We obtained a parabolic relationship between the %HF and the adsorption energy of CO molecule on the B12N12 cluster. Also, an increase in the %HF predicts a larger charge transfer from the CO molecule to the cage.  相似文献

在相对论有效原子实势近似下, 以Pu为SDD基组、O为6-311+G*基组, 采用优选的密度泛函 B3LYP方法, 研究了用电场摸拟钚本身产生自辐射场(-0.005—0.005 a.u.) 作用下氧化钚(PuO)基态分子的最高占据轨道(HOMO)能级EH、最低空轨道(LUMO)能级EL、能隙Eg和费米能级EF. 结果表明: 在所加的电场范围内, EH随着电场的增加均逐渐减少, EF随着电场的增加均逐渐增大, Eg始终处于增大的趋势, 费米能级EF上升, 占据轨道的电子难以被激发至空轨道而形成激发态, PuO分子在自辐射场中更趋于稳定, 可以阻止O2, H2等扩散到表面内层而腐蚀钚表面, 有利于了钚在自辐射场中抗腐蚀.  相似文献

The present paper describes the studies on the adsorption behavior and charge transfer from isonicotinic acid to silver nanoparticles with experiment and theory. Compared with UV–Visible adsorption spectrum, the adsorption spectrum of Ih-Ag13 cluster was quite good agreed with that of silver colloidal nanoparticle. So that one Ag13 cluster as a substrate was used to simulate Raman frequencies of the adsorption configuration. Here, it is demonstrated the calculated Raman spectra are in good agreement with experimental results. The analysis of Mulliken charge was obtained by density functional theory, which indicated the charge characteristics of Ag13 nanoparticle. Once isonicotinic acid molecules were adsorbed on sliver clusters, the charges transfer from isonicotinic acid to silver clusters, so that the surface charges of silver clusters are uneven.  相似文献

Classical molecular dynamics simulation (MD) with Sutton-Chen potential has been used to generate the minimum energy and to study the thermodynamic and dynamic properties of mixed transition metal cluster motifs of Ag n Ni(13?n) for n ?? 13. Literature results of thirteen particle clusters of neat silver and nickel atoms were first reproduced before the successive replacement of the silver atom by nickel. Calculation was repeated for both silver-centred and nickel-centred clusters. It was found that the nickel-centred clusters were more stable than the silver-centred clusters. Heat capacities and hence the melting points of silver and nickel-centred clusters were determined by using the Histogram method. Species-centric order parameters developed by Hewage and Amar were used to understand the dynamic behaviour in the transition of silver-centred clusters to more stable nickel-centred clusters. This species-centric order parameter calculation further confirmed the stability of nickel-centred clusters over those of silver-centred species.  相似文献

Density functional theory calculations have been carried out on ternary PtmAunAgl clusters of low nuclearity (m?+?n+l?=?5, 6 and 7). Various properties including average bond distance, binding energy, mixing energy, ionisation potential, electron affinity, HOMO–LUMO gap and fragmental channel, are reported for the optimised structures. The variations of the calculated properties of the PtmAunAgl clusters as a function of concentrations (i.e. all m-, n-, and l-values) are displayed by ternary diagrams. The geometric, energetic and electronic properties are sensitive to the composition and size of PtmAunAgl clusters.  相似文献

Self-consistent Hartree-Fock-Slater molecular cluster calculations for the chemisorption of carbon monoxide on a Ni(100) surface are presented. In earlier calculations of this type the CO molecule has been assumed to be chemisorbed in a hollow position of C4v symmetry. A recent EELS experiment shows however that in the most stable configuration CO is linearly bonded to the Ni atoms, i.e. a top position of the CO-molecule. This experiment indicates also that there exists an additional bridge bonding of the CO molecule to the two nearest neighbour Ni atoms. The variation of the energy levels, binding energies and charge distribution with the height of the CO molecule above the nickel surface is calculated for the top position using the NiCO and Ni5CO clusters and for the bridge bonding configuration using the Ni2CO cluster. The CO 1π level is found to be split by about 0.8 eV in bridge bonding geometry. For both hollow and top positions the 1π and 5σ levels are separated by about 0.5 eV. The energy separation to the 4σ level is about 3 eV, which is in good agreement with experimental data. Theoretical ionization energies relative to the Fermi energy for top position geometry at a bond distance of 3.5 au between the carbon atom and nickel surface were found to be 25.7, 11.7, 8.7 and 8.2 eV for the 3σ, 4σ, 5σ and 1π levels which should be compared with the experimental data of 29.0, 10.8, 8.4 and 7.8 eV, respectively. The corresponding ionization energies for a bond angle of 99° in bridge bonding were 23.7, 12.1, 7.3, 7.0 and 7.9 eV. The two last values represent the 1π level which is split into two levels in this geometry. The variation of the C-O stretch vibrational frequencies with the height of the CO molecule above the surface for the top-position geometry is estimated from the 5σ and 2π gross orbital populations and from the CO σ and π overlap populations.  相似文献
