The measurement of the flux of beryllium neutrinos with an accuracy of about 10% and CNO neutrinos with an accuracy of 20–30% will enable one to find the flux of pp neutrinos in the source with an accuracy better than 1% using the luminosity constraint. The future experiments on νe? scattering will enable one to measure with very good accuracy the flux of beryllium and pp neutrinos on the Earth. The ratio of the flux of pp neutrinos on the Earth and in the source will enable one to find with very good accuracy a mixing angle θ. A lithium detector has high sensitivity to CNO neutrinos and can find the contribution of the CNO cycle to the energy generated in the Sun. This will be a stringent test of the theory of stellar evolution and combined with other experiments will provide a precise determination of the flux of pp neutrinos in the source and a mixing angle θ. The work on the development of the technology of a lithium experiment is now in progress.  相似文献

Starting with the unification hypothesis of mixings of quarks and leptons and small quark-like mixings at the see-saw scale, we find that two large mixings for νe —νx03BC; andv μv τ at the weak scale are obtained as a result of renormalization group evolution and radiative magnification if the three neutrinos are quasi degenerate in masses and possess the same CP parity. We also find thatU e3 remains small and well within the CHOOZ-Palo Verde bound since the correspondingV ub for CKM mixing is very small. Several testable pedictions are pointed out.  相似文献

The recent global analysis of three-flavor neutrino oscillation data indicates that the normal neutrino mass ordering is favored over the inverted one at the 3σ level, and the best-fit values of the largest neutrino mixing angle θ_(23) and the Dirac CP-violating phase δ are located in the higher octant and third quadrant, respectively. We show that all these important issues can be naturally explained by the μ-τ reflection symmetry breaking of massive neutrinos from a superhigh energy scale down to the electroweak scale owing to the one-loop renormalization-group equations(RGEs) in the minimal supersymmetric standard model(MSSM). The complete parameter space is explored for the first time in both the Majorana and Dirac cases, by allowing the smallest neutrino mass m1 and the MSSM parameter tanβ to vary within their reasonable regions.  相似文献

This is an extension of estimates of the probability of μ to e neutrino oscillation with one sterile neutrino to three sterile neutrinos, using a 6x6 matrix. Since the mixing angle for only one sterile neutrino has been experimentally determined, we estimate the μ to e neutrino oscillation probability with different mixing angles for two of the sterile neutrinos.  相似文献

Spontaneously broken mirror symmetry is able to reproduce observed qualitative properties of weak mixing for quark and leptons. Under conditions of broken mirror symmetry, the phenomenology of leptons—that is, small neutrino masses and a mixing character other than that in the case of quarks—requires the Dirac character of the neutrinos and the existence of processes violating the total lepton number. Such processes involve heavy mirror neutrinos; that is, they proceed at very high energies. Here, CP violation implies that a P-even mirror-symmetric Lagrangian must simultaneously be T-odd and, according to the CPT theorem, C-odd. All these properties create preconditions for the occurrence of leptogenesis, which is a mechanism of the emergence of the baryon–lepton asymmetry of the universe in models featuring broken mirror symmetry.  相似文献

We consider non renormalization 1/M x interaction term as a perturbation of the neutrino mass matrix. We find that for the degenerate neutrino mass spectrum. We assume that the neutrino masses and mixing arise through physics at a scale intermediate between Planck Scale and the electroweak scale. We also assume, above the electroweak breaking scale, neutrino masses are nearly degenerate and their mixing is bimaximal. The perturbation generates a non zero value of θ 13, which is within reach of the high performance neutrino factory. In this paper, we find that the non zero value of θ 13 due to Planck scale effects indicates the possibility of CP violation.  相似文献

In this paper, we construct a parameterized form of unitary \(\breve {R}_{123}(\theta _{1},\theta _{2},\varphi )\) matrix through the Yang-Baxterization method. Acting such matrix on three-qubit natural basis as a quantum gate, we can obtain a set of entangled states, which possess the same entanglement value depending on the parameters ?? 1 and ?? 2. Particularly, such entangled states can produce a set of maximally entangled bases Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states with respect to ?? 1 = ?? 2 = π/2. Choosing a useful Hamiltonian, one can study the evolution of the eigenstates and investigate the result of Berry phase. It is not difficult to find that the Berry phase for this new three-qubit system consistent with the solid angle on the Bloch sphere.  相似文献

A generalized phenomenological (3 + 2 + 1) model featuring three active and three sterile neutrinos that is intended for calculating oscillation properties of neutrinos for the case of a normal activeneutrino mass hierarchy and a large splitting between the mass of one sterile neutrino and the masses of the other two sterile neutrinos is considered. A new parametrization and a specific form of the general mixing matrix are proposed for active and sterile neutrinos with allowance for possible CP violation in the lepton sector, and test values are chosen for the neutrino masses and mixing parameters. The probabilities for the transitions between different neutrino flavors are calculated, and graphs representing the probabilities for the disappearance of muon neutrinos/antineutrinos and the appearance of electron neutrinos/antineutrinos in a beam of muon neutrinos/antineutrinos versus the distance from the neutrino source for various values of admissible model parameters at neutrino energies not higher than 50 MeV, as well as versus the ratio of this distance to the neutrino energy, are plotted. It is shown that the short-distance accelerator anomaly in neutrino data (LNSD anomaly) can be explained in the case of a specific mixing matrix for active and sterile neutrinos (which belongs to the a2 type) at the chosen parameter values. The same applies to the short-distance reactor and gallium anomalies. The theoretical results obtained in the present study can be used to interpret and predict the results of ground-based neutrino experiments aimed at searches for sterile neutrinos, as well as to analyze some astrophysical observational data.  相似文献

If the present or upcoming searches for neutrinoless double beta ((ββ)0ν) decay give a positive result, the Majorana nature of massive neutrinos will be established. From the determination of the value of the (ββ)0ν-decay effective Majorana mass parameter (|〈m〉|), it would be possible to obtain information on the type of neutrino mass spectrum. Assuming 3-ν mixing and massive Majorana neutrinos, we discuss the information that a measurement of, or an upper bound on, |〈m〉| can provide on the value of the lightest neutrino mass m1. With additional data on the neutrino masses obtained in 3H β-decay experiments, it might be possible to establish whether the CP symmetry is violated in the lepton sector. This would require very high precision measurements. If CP invariance holds, the allowed patterns of the relative CP parities of the massive Majorana neutrinos would be determined.  相似文献

An exponential form of the Pontecorvo–Maki–Nakagawa–Sakatamixingmatrix for neutrinos is discussed. This form makes it possible to separate the contributions of purely rotational components of the mixing matrix and elements that are responsible for CP violation. The logarithm of the mixing matrix and exact values for each parameter of the exponential neutrino mixing matrix are found on the basis of the most recent experimental data on neutrino mixing. The parameters of the real rotational part in the exponential representation of the mixing matrix and the parameters of its imaginary part, which is responsible for CP violation, are evaluated. The hypothesis of complementarity of quark and neutrino mixing is confirmed. Factorization in the form of the product of rotations about the real and imaginary axes is demonstrated.  相似文献

The present theory is based on the assumption that, at very small (Planck scale) distances our spacetime is discrete, and this discreteness influences the Planck scale physics. Considering our (3+1)-dimensional spacetime as a regular hypercubic lattice with a parameter a=λPl, where λPl is the Planck length, we have investigated a role of lattice artifact monopoles, which is essential near the Planck scale if the family-replicated gauge group model (FRGGM) is an extension of the Standard Model (SM) at high energies. It was shown that monopoles have N times smaller magnetic charge in the FRGGM than in the SM (N is the number of families in the FRGGM). These monopoles can give an additional contribution to β functions of the renormalization-group equations for the running fine structure constants αi(μ) (i=1, 2, 3 correspond to the U(1), SU(2), and SU(3) gauge groups of the SM). We have used the Dirac relation for renormalized electric and magnetic charges. Also, we have estimated the enlargement of a number of fermions in the FRGGM leading to the suppression of the asymptotic freedom in the non-Abelian theory. The different role of monopoles in the vicinity of the Planck scale gives rise either to anti-GUT or to the new possibility of unification of gauge interactions (including gravity) at the scale μGUT≈1018.4 GeV. We discussed the possibility of the [SU(5)]3 SUSY or [SO(10)]3 SUSY unifications.  相似文献

Within the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (CMSSM) it is possible to predict the low energy gauge couplings and masses of the 3. generation particles from a few parameters at the GUT scale. In addition the MSSM predicts electroweak symmetry breaking due to large radiative corrections from Yukawa couplings, thus relating theZ 0 boson mass to the top quark mass. From ax 2 analysis, in which these constraints can be considered simultaneously, one can calculate the probability for each point in the MSGUT parameter space. The recently measured top quark mass prefers two solutions for the mixing angle in the Higgs sector: tan?? in the range between 1 and 3 or alternatively tan????25?50. For both cases we find a uniquex 2 minimum in the parameter space. From the corresponding most probable parameters at the GUT scale, the masses of all predicted particles can be calculated at low energies using the RGE, albeit with rather large errors due to the logarithmic nature of the running of the masses and coupling constants. Our fits include full second order corrections for the gauge and Yukawa couplings, low energy threshold effects, contributions of all (s)particles to the Higgs potential and corrections tom b from gluinos and higgsinos, which exclude (in our notation) positive values of the mixing parameter?? in the Higgs potential for the large tan?? region. Further constraints can be derived from the branching ratio for the radiative (penguin) decay of theb-quark intos?? and the lower limit on the lifetime of the universe, which requires the dark matter density due to the Lightest Super-symmetric Particle (LSP) not to overclose the universe. For the low tan?? solution these additional constraints can be fulfilled simultaneously for quite a large region of the parameter space. In contrast, for the high tan?? solution the correct value for theb??s?? rate is obtained only for small values of the gaugino scale and electroweak symmetry breaking is difficult, unless one assumes the minimal SU(5) to be a subgroup of a larger symmetry group, which is broken between the Planck scale and the unification scale. In this case small splittings in the Yukawa couplings are expected at the unification scale and electroweak symmetry breaking is easily obtained, provided the Yukawa coupling for the top quark is slightly above the one for the bottom quark, as expected e.g. if the larger symmetry group would be SO(10). For particles, which are most likely to have masses in the LEP II energy range, the cross sections are given for the various energy scenarios at LEP II. For low tan?? the production of the lightest Higgs boson, which is expected to have a mass below 103 GeV, is the most promising channel, while for large tan?? the production of charginos and/or neutralinos covers the preferred parameter space.  相似文献

In the context of SU(3) C ?? SU(3) L ?? U(1) X (3–3–1) model with right-handed neutrinos, we study the Higgsstrahlung process e ?+? e ???ZH and calculate the cross section of this process at leading order. Our numerical results showed that the production cross sections for this process can be significantly large as \(M_{Z'}\approx \sqrt{s}\). With reasonable values of the Z′ mass M Z, Z′ exchange can generate large corrections to the cross sections of this process, which might be detected in the future high-energy linear e ?+? e ??? collider experiments.  相似文献

The experimental observation of the renormalization of the Fermi velocity v F as a function ofdoping has been a landmark for confirming the importance of electronic interactions ingraphene. Although the experiments were performed in the presence of a perpendicularmagnetic field B, the measurements are well described by arenormalization-group (RG) theory that did not include it. Here we clarify this issue, forboth massive and massless Dirac systems, and show that for the weak magnetic fields atwhich the experiments are performed, there is no change in the renormalization-groupfunctions. Our calculations are carried out in the framework of the Pseudo-quantumelectrodynamics (PQED) formalism, which accounts for dynamical interactions. We includeonly the linear dependence in B, and solve the problem using two differentparametrizations, the Feynman and the Schwinger one. We confirm the results obtainedearlier within the RG procedure and show that, within linear order in the magnetic field, the only contribution to the renormalization of the Fermi velocity for the massive casearises due to electronic interactions. In addition, for gapped systems, we observe arunning of the mass parameter.  相似文献

In multi-field reheating after modular j-inflation we investigate the conditions under which baryogenesis via non-thermal leptogenesis can be successfully realized. We introduce three heavy right-handed neutrinos to the non-supersymmetric Standard Model of particle physics, assuming hierarchical neutrino masses. Considering a typical mass for the first right-handed neutrino of the order of \(10^{11}\) GeV, suggested from the seesaw mechanism and also from concrete SO(10) grand unification models, we obtain the allowed parameter space for viable baryogenesis. An upper bound for the inflaton mass as well as a lower bound for its branching ratio to the pair of lightest right-handed neutrinos are found and reported.  相似文献

We study the implications of a large value of the effective Majorana neutrino mass for a class of two-texture zero neutrino mass matrices in the flavour basis. We find that these textures predict near-maximal atmospheric neutrino mixing angle in the limit of large effective Majorana neutrino mass. We present the symmetry realization of these textures using the discrete cyclic group Z3. It is found that the texture zeros realized in this work remain stable under the renormalization group running of the effective neutrino mass matrix at one-loop level.  相似文献

The results of a direct measurement of the counting rate for solar neutrinos from the electron-capture process on 7Be, 7Be(e ?, ν e )7Li(E ν = 0.862 MeV), with the low-background scintillation detector BOREXINO are presented. This is the first ever real-time observation of a signal from solar neutrinos of energy below 1 MeV. The counting rate for monoenergetic beryllium neutrinos in the BOREXINO detector proved to be 47 ± 7 (stat.) ± 12 (syst.) counts/(day × 100 t), which is in agreement with the predictions of the standard solar model and the hypothesis of neutrino oscillations in matter with parameters in the LMA region.  相似文献

The energy levels of hydrogen-like atom on a noncommutative phase space were studied in the framework of relativistic quantum mechanics. The leading order corrections to energy levels 2S 1/2, 2P 1/2 and 2P 3/2 were obtained by using the ?? and the \(\bar \theta \) modified Dirac Hamiltonian of hydrogen-like atom on a noncommutative phase space. The degeneracy of the energy levels 2P 1/2 and 2P 3/2 were removed completely by ??-correction. And the \(\bar \theta \)-correction shifts these energy levels.  相似文献
