For a given domain ω ⋐ ℝ2 with boundary γ = ∂ω, we study the cardinality of the set $ \mathfrak{A}_\eta \left( \Phi \right) $ \mathfrak{A}_\eta \left( \Phi \right) of pairs of numbers (a, b) for which there is a function u = u (a,b): ω → ℝ such that ∇2 u(x) = au(x) + b ⩾ 0 for xω, u| γ = 0, and ||∇u(s)| − Φ(s) ⩽ η for sγ. Here η ⩾ 0 stands for a very small number, Φ(s) = |∇(s)| / ∫ γ |∇v| d γ, and v is the solution of the problem ∇2 v = a 0 v + 1 ⩾ 0 on ω with v| γ = 0, where a 0 is a given number. The fundamental difference between the case η = 0 and the physically meaningful case η > 0 is proved. Namely, for η = 0, the set $ \mathfrak{A}_\eta \left( \Phi \right) $ \mathfrak{A}_\eta \left( \Phi \right) contains only one element (a, b) for a broad class of domains ω, and a = a 0. On the contrary, for an arbitrarily small η > 0, there is a sequence of pairs (a j , b j ) ∈ $ \mathfrak{A}_\eta \left( \Phi \right) $ \mathfrak{A}_\eta \left( \Phi \right) and the corresponding functions u j such that ‖f u j+1‖ − ‖f u j ‖ > 1, where ‖f u j = max x∈ω |f u j (x)| and f u j (x) = a j u j (x) + b j . In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of solutions of semilinear abstract differential equations (*) u′(t) = Au(t) + t n f(t, u(t)), where A is the generator of a C 0-semigroup (or group) T(·), f(·, x) ∈ A for each xX, A is the class of almost periodic, almost automorphic or Levitan almost periodic Banach space valued functions ϕ: ℝ → X and n ∈ {0, 1, 2, ...}. We investigate the linear case when T(·)x is almost periodic for each xX; and the semilinear case when T(·) is an asymptotically stable C 0-semigroup, n = 0 and f(·, x) satisfies a Lipschitz condition. Also, in the linear case, we investigate (*) when ϕ belongs to a Stepanov class S p-A defined similarly to the case of S p-almost periodic functions. Under certain conditions, we show that the solutions of (*) belong to A u:= ABUC(ℝ, X) if n = 0 and to t n A uw n C 0 (ℝ, X) if n ∈ ℕ, where w n(t) = (1 + |t|)n. The spectral properties of the Schr?dinger operator T(t)=−d 2/dx 2+q(x,t) in L 2(ℝ) are studied, where the potential q is defined by q=p(x+t), x>0, and q=p(x), x<0; p is a 1-periodic potential and t∈ℝ is the dislocation parameter. For each t the absolutely continuous spectrum σ ac (T(t))=σ ac (T(0)) consists of intervals, which are separated by the gaps γ n (T(t))=γ n (T(0))=(α n n +), n≥1. We prove: in each gap γ n ≠?, n≥ 1 there exist two unique “states” (an eigenvalue and a resonance) λ n ±(t) of the dislocation operator, such that λ n ±(0)=α n ± and the point λ n ±(t) runs clockwise around the gap γ n changing the energy sheet whenever it hits α n ±, making n/2 complete revolutions in unit time. On the first sheet λ n ±(t) is an eigenvalue and on the second sheet λ n ±(t) is a resonance. In general, these motions are not monotonic. There exists a unique state λ0(t) in the basic gap γ0(T(t))=γ0(T(0))=(−∞ ,α0 +). The asymptotics of λ n ±(t) as n→∞ is determined. Received: 5 April 1999 / Accepted: 3 March 2000  相似文献

In this paper we study the Euler-Poincaré equations in . We prove local existence of weak solutions in , and local existence of unique classical solutions in , k > N/2 + 3, as well as a blow-up criterion. For the zero dispersion equation (α = 0) we prove a finite time blow-up of the classical solution. We also prove that as the dispersion parameter vanishes, the weak solution converges to a solution of the zero dispersion equation with sharp rate as α → 0, provided that the limiting solution belongs to with k > N/2 + 3. For the stationary weak solutions of the Euler-Poincaré equations we prove a Liouville type theorem. Namely, for α > 0 any weak solution is u=0; for α= 0 any weak solution is u=0.  相似文献

Beam asymmetry and differential cross-section for the reaction γp → ηp were measured from production threshold to 1500MeV photon laboratory energy. The two dominant neutral decay modes of the η -meson, η → 2γ and η → 3π0 , were analyzed. The full set of measurements is in good agreement with previously published results. Our data were compared with three models. They all fit satisfactorily the results but their respective resonance contributions are quite different. The possible photoexcitation of a narrow state N(1670) was investigated and no evidence was found.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the large-time behavior of strong solutions to the one-dimensional fourth order degenerate parabolic equation u t =−(u u xxx ) x , modeling the evolution of the interface of a spreading droplet. For nonnegative initial values u 0(x)∈H 1(ℝ), both compactly supported or of finite second moment, we prove explicit and universal algebraic decay in the L 1-norm of the strong solution u(x,t) towards the unique (among source type solutions) strong source type solution of the equation with the same mass. The method we use is based on the study of the time decay of the entropy introduced in [13] for the porous medium equation, and uses analogies between the thin film equation and the porous medium equation. We re-evaluate the electromagnetic corrections to η→3π decays at next-to-leading order in the chiral expansion, arguing that effects of order e 2(m u m d ) disregarded so far are not negligible compared to other contributions of order e 2 times a light-quark mass. Despite the appearance of the Coulomb pole in ηπ + π π 0 and cusps in η→3π 0, the overall corrections remain small.  相似文献

Particle production in Au+Au collisions has been measured in the PHOBOS experiment at RHIC for a range of collision energies for a large span of pseudorapidities, |η| < 5.4. Three empirical observations have emerged from this data set which require theoretical examination. First, there is clear evidence of limiting fragmentation. Namely, particle production in central Au + Au collisions, when expressed as dN/dη′ ( η′ ≡ – ybeam), becomes energy independent at high energy for a broad region of η′ around η′ = 0. This energy-independent region grows with energy, allowing only a limited region (if any) of longitudinal boost-invariance. Second, there is a striking similarity between particle production in e+eand Au + Au collisions (scaled by the number of participating nucleon pairs). Both the total number of produced particles and the longitudinal distribution of produced particles are approximately the same in e+eand in scaled Au + Au. This observation This presentation is based in large part on the PHOBOS summary talk by M Baker at the16th Int. Conf. on Ultrarelativistic Nucleus- Nucleus Collisions, Quark Matter 2002, Nantes, France was not predicted and has not been explained. Finally, particle production has been found to scale approximately with the number of participating nucleon pairs for (N part ) > 65. The dipion spectrum for the ϒ(nS) → ϒ(n′S) transition with n < 4 has the form dw/dq ∼ (phase space) |η − x|2, with x = q 2 − 4m π2 / (ΔM)2 − 4m π2 < q 2M ππ2, and ΔM = M(nS) − M(n′S). The parameter η is calculated and the spectrum is shown to reproduce the experimental data for all three types of decays: 3 → 1, 2 → 1, and 3 → 2 with η ≈ 0.5, 0, and −3, respectively. Consider the diffusive Hamilton-Jacobi equation u t = Δu + |?u| p , p > 2, on a bounded domain Ω with zero-Dirichlet boundary conditions, which arises in the KPZ model of growing interfaces. It is known that u remains bounded and that ?u may blow up only on the boundary ?Ω. In this paper, under suitable assumptions on ${\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^2}Consider the diffusive Hamilton-Jacobi equation u t = Δu + |∇u| p , p > 2, on a bounded domain Ω with zero-Dirichlet boundary conditions, which arises in the KPZ model of growing interfaces. It is known that u remains bounded and that ∇u may blow up only on the boundary ∂Ω. In this paper, under suitable assumptions on W ì \mathbbR2{\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^2} and on the initial data, we show that the gradient blow-up singularity occurs only at a single point x0 ? ?W{x_0\in\partial\Omega}. This is the first result of this kind in the study of problems involving gradient blow-up phenomena. In general domains of \mathbbRn{\mathbb{R}^n}, we also obtain results on nondegeneracy and localization of blow-up points.  相似文献

We consider slow, compared to the speed of sound, motions of an ideal compressible fluid (gas) in a gravitational field in the presence of two isentropic layers with a small specific-entropy difference between them. Assuming the flow to be potential in each of the layers (v 1, 2 = ▿ϕ1, 2) and neglecting the acoustic degrees of freedom (div($ \bar \rho $ \bar \rho (z)▿ϕ1, 2) ≈ 0, where $ \bar \rho $ \bar \rho (z) is the average equilibrium density), we derive the equations of motion for the boundary in terms of the shape of the surface z = η(x, y, t) itself and the difference between the boundary values of the two velocity field potentials: ψ(x, y, t) = ψ1 − ψ2. We prove the Hamilto nian structure of the derived equations specified by a Lagrangian of the form ℒ = ∫$ \bar \rho $ \bar \rho (η)η t ψdxdy − ℋ{η, ψ}. The system under consideration is the simplest theoretical model for studying internal waves in a sharply stratified atmosphere in which the decrease in equilibrium gas density due to gas compressibility with increasing height is essentially taken into account. For plane flows, we make a generalization to the case where each of the layers has its own constant potential vorticity. We investigate a system with a model dependence $ \bar \rho $ \bar \rho (z) ∝ e −2αz with which the Hamiltonian ℋ{η, ψ} can be represented explicitly. We consider a long-wavelength dynamic regime with dispersion corrections and derive an approximate nonlinear equation of the form u t + auu x b[−$ \hat \partial _x^2 $ \hat \partial _x^2 + α2]1/2 u x = 0 (Smith’s equation) for the slow evolution of a traveling wave.  相似文献

The main aim of this paper is to discuss the entropic repulsion of random interfaces between two hard walls. We consider the d (≥ 3)-dimensional Gaussian lattice field on ℝλ N , λ N = [−N, N] d ∩ ℤ d and identify the repulsion of the field as N → ∞ under the condition that the field lies between two hard walls at the height level 0 and L in Λ N where L is large enough but finite. Decays of the η and the η′ represent a significant portion of the scientific program with the Crystal Ball at MAMI. This review summarizes the current status of the program and discusses some recent results, such as the slope parameter of the η → 3π0 Dalitz plot, the matrix element of η → π0γγ and the invariant mass of e + e γ from the η → e + e γ Dalitz decay. The PHENIX experiment at RHIC has measured ω and ϕ meson production using di-electron decay mode over a psude-rapidity range of |η| ≤ 0.35 and a transverse momentum range of 0 < p T < 5 GeV/c in proton + proton collisions at $ \sqrt s $ \sqrt s = 200 GeV. The spectra of production cross section as a function of p T for ω and ϕe + e show good agreement with other hadornic decay channels ωπ 0 γ, ω 0 π + π and ϕK + K , respectively.  相似文献

The rare t-quark decays tcl j + l k and tc j k k induced by scalar-leptoquark doublets are considered within the minimal model involving four-color quark-lepton symmetry and the Higgs mechanism of quark and lepton mass splitting. The partial widths with respect to the decays being considered and the total widths Γ(tcl +l ) = Σj,k Γ(tcl j + l k ) and Γ(tcl +l ) = Σj,kΓ(tc j v k ) with respect to, respectively, the charged leptonic and neutrino modes are calculated. It is shown that, at scalar-leptoquark masses higher than the t-quark mass (m S > m t), the branching ratios for these modes are Br(tcl +l ) ≈ (3.5−0.4) × 10−5 and Br(tcṽ′v) ≈ (7.1−0.8) × 10−5 at m s = 180–250 GeV and an appropriate value of the leptoquark-mixing angle (sin β ≈ 0.2) and can increase for m S < m t to Br(tcl +l ) ≈ 0.03−0.002 and Br(tcl +l ) ≈ 0.46−0.05 for the charged mode at m S = 150–170 GeV for sin β ≈ 1 and sin β ≈ 0.2, respectively. In the cases being considered, t-quark decays to pairs of charged leptons can be accessible to detection at LHC. We evaluate the threshold matrix–element for the reaction ppppπ0 in a fully relativistic Feynman diagrammatic approach. We employ a simple effective range approximation to take care of the S–wave pp final–state interaction. The experimental value for the threshold amplitude A = (2.7 −i0.3) fm4 can be reproduced by contributions from tree level chiral (long–range) pion exchange and short–range effects related to vector meson exchanges, with ω-exchange giving the largest individual contribution. Pion loop effects appear to be small. We stress that the commonly used heavy baryon formalism is not applicable in the NN–system above the pion production threshold due to the large external momentum, |p|≃ (Mm π)−1/2, with M and m π the nucleon and the pion mass, respectively. We furthermore investigate the reaction pppnπ+ near threshold within the same approach. We extract from the data the triplet threshold amplitude as B = (2.8 −i1.5) fm4. Its real part can be well understood from (relativistic) tree level meson–exchange diagrams. In addition, we investigate the process ppppη near threshold. We use a simple factorization ansatz for the ppη final–state interaction and extract from the data the modulus of the threshold amplitude, |C|= 1.32 fm4. With g ηN= 5.3, this value can be reproduced by (relativistic) tree level meson–exchange diagrams and η–rescattering, whose strength is fixed by the ηN scattering length. We study the possibility to measure the elastic ΦN (Φ≡J/ψ,ψ(2S), ψ(3770), χ2c) scattering cross section in the reaction ˉp+dΦ+n sp and the elastic DD)N scattering cross section in the reaction ˉp+dD D 0 p sp. Our studies indicate that the elastic scattering cross sections can be determined for Φ momenta about 4–6 GeV/c and DD momenta 2–5 GeV/c by selecting events with p t≥ 0.4 GeV/c for Φ's and p t(p sp) ≥ 0.5 GeV/c for DD-meson production. Photoproduction of η -mesons was studied with the Crystal-Barrel detector at ELSA for photon energies in the range from 0.75 to 3GeV. Total and differential cross-sections are presented. The η mesons are detected in two decay modes, in η → 2γ and in η → 3π0 → 6γ . The cross-sections vary slowly as functions of energy and η production angle suggesting that only few resonances make significant contributions to the cross-section. For photon energies above 1.5GeV, the differential cross-sections show a strong forward peak due to meson exchanges in the t channel. A comparison of the η -photoproduction cross-sections with SAID and MAID as well as with a partial-wave analysis performed on our data in combination with other data sets shows good agreement. The Bonn-Gatchina partial-wave analysis suggests that the largest contribution to η photoproduction for energies below 3GeV proceeds via three resonances, the well-known N(1535)S 11 , via N(1720)P 13 , and a newly suggested N(2070)D 15 .  相似文献

A significant (∼1.8%) positive unit between the parameters of the crystal lattice is the reason of tetragonal distortion (a /a ≈ 1.04) and reduction in the volume of the unit cell of La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 films (15 nm) quasicoherently grown on the (001) surface of a LaAlO3 substrate. The films consist of single-crystal blocks with the lateral size of 30–50 nm. The atomically smooth LaAlO3-La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 interphase boundary has no misfit dislocations. At T = 4.2 K, the transformation of nonferromagnetic phase inclusions into ferromagnetic ones in a constant magnetic field H is accompanied by a stable reduction in the electrical resistivity ρ of manganite films with time, so that the curve ρ(t) is well approximated by the relationship ρ(t) ∼ ρ1(tt 0)1/2, (where t 0 is the time for establishment of the specified value (μ0 H = 5 T) of the magnetic field and ρ1 is a coefficient independent of H). The magnetocrystalline anisotropy due to the elastic deformation of films by the substrate and stratification of electronic phases are the reasons of the distinct hysteresis in the dependences ρ(μ0 H, T < 100 K) obtained on μ0 H scanning in the sequence 5 T → 0 → −5 T → 0 → 5 T. At T = 50 K and μ0 H = 0.4 T, the magnetoresistance MR = 100% [ρ(μ0 H) − ρ(μ0 H = 0)]/ρ(μ0 H = 0) of LCMO films attains 150%.  相似文献
