Studies have been conducted on the copper complexes formed with two sexadentate macrocyclic ligands containing four thioether sulfur donor atoms plus either two nitrogen or two oxygen donor atoms on opposing sides of the ring. The resulting two ligands, L, designated as [18]aneS(4)N(2) and [18]aneS(4)O(2), respectively, represent homologues of the previously studied Cu(ii/i) system with a macrocycle having six sulfur donor atoms, [18]aneS(6). Crystal structures of [Cu(II)([18]aneS(4)O(2))](ClO(4))(2) and [Cu(I)([18]aneS(4)O(2))]ClO(4) have been determined in this work. Comparison of the structures of all three systems reveals that the oxidized complexes are six coordinate with two coordinate bonds undergoing rupture upon reduction. However, the geometric changes accompanying electron transfer appear to differ for the three systems. The stability constants and electrochemical properties of both of the heteromacrocyclic complexes have been determined in acetonitrile and the Cu(II/I)L electron-transfer kinetics have been studied in the same solvent using six different counter reagents for each system. The electron self-exchange rate constants have then been calculated using the Marcus cross relationship. The results are compared to other Cu(II/I)L systems in terms of the effect of ligand geometric changes upon the overall kinetic behavior.  相似文献

The complex formation kinetics of aquated copper(II) ion reacting with 12 related tripodal ligands have been studied in aqueous solution at 25 degrees C, mu = 0.10 M (NaClO4). For most of the ligands studied, specific formation rate constants have been resolved for both the unprotonated and monoprotonated ligand species. All of the tripodal ligands included in this study contain a bridgehead amine nitrogen with the three legs consisting of 2-methylthioethyl or 2-ethylthioethyl and/or 2-pyridylethyl or 2-pyridylmethyl. Since the bridgehead nitrogen is too sterically hindered to participate in initial coordinate bond formation, the first bond must involve a thiaether sulfur or a pyridine nitrogen on one of the pendant legs followed by coordination to the bridgehead nitrogen to complete the first chelate ring. All kinetic data are interpreted in terms of this presumed sequence in the bond formation steps. For the two ligands in which all three pendant legs contain thiaether sulfur donor atoms, the rate-determining step appears to be at the point of second bond formation (chelate ring closure), although the distinction is not well defined. For all other unprotonated ligands, the kinetic behavior is consistent with the first-bond formation being rate-determining. Upon protonation, the rate-determining step appears to shift to the point of proton loss associated with second-bond formation in several cases. A particularly interesting observation is that the tripodal ligand tris(ethylthioethyl)amine (TEMEA) exhibits specific Cu(II) complex formation rate constants that are virtually identical to those for a closely related macrocyclic ligand, 1,4,8-trithia-11-azacyclotetradecane ([14]aneNS3), but the calculated CuIIL dissociation rate constants differ by a factor of 1000. A further comparison of the calculated dissociation rate constants for Cu(II)-tripodal ligand complexes indicates that a Cu(II)-N(pyridine) bond is approximately 10(4) times stronger than a Cu(II)-SR2 bond. This leads to the conclusion that a 1:1 Cu(II)-SR2 complex would have a predicted stability constant of about 0.04 M-1 in aqueous solution--the first estimate obtained for the strength of a single Cu(II)-S(thiaether) bond.  相似文献

Galactose oxidase (GO) is an enzyme that catalyzes two-electron oxidations. Its active site contains a copper atom coordinated to a tyrosyl radical, the biogenesis of which requires copper and dioxygen. We have recently studied the properties of electrochemically generated mononuclear Cu(II)-phenoxyl radical systems as model compounds of GO. We present here the solution chemistry of these ligands under various copper and dioxygen statuses: N(3)O ligands first chelate Cu(II), leading, in the presence of base, to [Cu(II)(ligand)(CH(3)CN)](+) complexes (ortho-tert-butylated ligands) or [(Cu(II))(2)(ligand)(2)](2+) complexes (ortho-methoxylated ligands). Excess copper(II) then oxidizes the complex to the corresponding mononuclear Cu(II)-phenoxyl radical species. N(2)O(2) tripodal ligands, in the presence of copper(II), afford directly a copper(II)-phenoxyl radical species. Addition of more than two molar equivalents of copper(II) affords a Cu(II)-bis(phenoxyl) diradical species. The donor set of the ligand directs the reaction towards comproportionation for ligands possessing an N(3)O donor set, while disproportionation is observed for ligands possessing an N(2)O(2) donor set. These results are discussed in the light of recent results concerning the self-processing of GO. A path involving copper(II) disproportionation is proposed for oxidation of the cross-linked tyrosinate of GO, supporting the fact that both copper(I) and copper(II) activate the enzyme.  相似文献

In electron-transfer reactions, the change in the oxidation states of the reactants is generally accompanied by structural changes, which influence the electron-transfer kinetics. Previous studies on the systems of Cu(II)/(I) complexes involving cyclic tetrathiaether ligands indicated that inversion of coordinated donor atoms is a major geometric change during the overall electron-transfer process. Complex formation and isomerization studies on complexes with the 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane ligand have demonstrated that a necessary condition for conformational change is deprotonation followed by inversion of coordinated N atoms. When one or more nitrogen donor atoms in a ligand are replaced with sulfur, there is a choice of N or S inversion. It has been hypothesized that donor atom inversion (N or S donors) is a major factor that can lead to conformationally limited electron-transfer kinetics of copper systems. In the current study, the thermodynamic properties, electron-transfer kinetics and conformational changes in copper(II)[1,4,8-trithia-11-azacyclotetradecane], copper(II)[1,8-dithia-4,11-diazacyclotetradecane] and copper(II)[1,11,-dithia-4,8-diazacyclotetradecane] were determined in order to determine the effect of inversion of coordinated N atoms on electron-transfer rates as a function of low concentrations of water in an aprotic solvent (acetonitrile). By using controlled amounts of water as a hydrogen ion acceptor, deprotonation of amine nitrogen and nitrogen donor inversion was followed by comparing self-exchange rate constants for reduction and oxidation of the copper complexes. Data on thermodynamic properties and electron-transfer kinetics are presented. Possible conformational changes and kinetic pathways for complexes with ligands having mixed N and S donor sets are presented.  相似文献

The tripodal ligand TMMEA (tris(2-methylthioethyl)amine) forms a trigonal bipyramidal complex with copper(II) in which the bridgehead nitrogen occupies one axial site, a solvent molecule (or anion) occupies the opposite axial site, and the three thioether sulfurs occupy the three planar sites. Upon reduction to copper(I), the axial solvent molecule (or anion) dissociates to leave a trigonal pyramidal complex with shortened Cu-S bonds and an elongated Cu-N bond. Therefore, both oxidation states maintain virtual C3v symmetry similar to that found in the type 1 blue copper protein sites. The electron-transfer cross-reaction rate constants have been determined for the Cu(II/I)(TMMEA) system reacting with three reductants and three oxidants. The Marcus cross relation was then utilized to generate apparent values for the Cu(II/I) electron self-exchange rate constant (k(11)) from the kinetic data for each of the six reactions. The median value obtained from the three reduction reactions is log k(11(Red)) = -1.5 while the median from the three oxidation reactions is log k(11(Ox)) = +0.9. This difference of 2.4 orders of magnitude is consistent with the dual-pathway square scheme mechanism which we have previously proposed for electron transfer in Cu(II/I) complexes. For this tripodal ligand system, however, the pathway involving a metastable Cu(II)L intermediate (pathway B) appears to be preferred over the pathway involving a metastable Cu(I)L intermediate (pathway A), which is opposite to the trend we have previously observed for a number of systems involving macrocyclic and acyclic tetrathiaethers. Both pathways exhibit relatively sluggish electron-transfer kinetics which is attributed to the rupture/formation of the strongly bound inner-sphere water molecule and the accompanying solvent reorganization.  相似文献

Three divalent transition metal complexes of 4,5-bis(2-pyridylmethylsulfanyl)-4',5'-ethylenedithiotetrathiafulvalene have been prepared and crystallographically characterized. The isostructural Co(II) and the Ni(II) complexes show octahedral geometries around the metal ions with the coordination sites occupied by the pyridyl nitrogen atoms and the thioether sulfur atoms of the ligand and cis coordination of the halide ions. Cyclic voltammetry reveals that the complexation leads to a small anodic shift in the first oxidation potential of the TTF system.  相似文献

Two ternary complexes, [Cu2(Pir)(Pen)(OH)(Ac)H2O] and [Cu(Pir)(Cap)(Ac)] ½H2O (where, Pen = D-penicillamine, Cap = captopril, and Pir = piroxicam) have been synthesized and characterized using elemental analyses, spectroscopic analyses (IR, UV-vis, MS), thermal analyses (TGA), conductance measurements, and magnetic measurements. The binary complexes, [Cu2(Pen)(OH)2(H2O)2] 4H2O and [Cu(Cap)Ac] 3/2H2O, have also been prepared and characterized by these techniques to facilitate the interpretation of the mixed ligand complexes. The results show that D-penicillamine can coordinate two copper atoms through amino nitrogen, and thiol sulfur after displacement of a hydrogen atom. At the same time, the ligand coordinates to the second copper atom through a carboxyl group after displacement of a hydrogen from the latter group. Captopril coordinates through thiol sulfur and carbonyl oxygen. Piroxicam coordinates as a neutral bidentate ligand in the keto form through carbonyl oxygen and pyridyl nitrogen. The magnetic moment measurements of complexes containing captopril indicate the reduction of Cu(II) to Cu(I) by the thiol group.  相似文献

A series of copper(II) thiosulfonate complexes have been prepared via the reaction of [Cu(Me 3tren)(OH 2)](ClO 4) 2 (Me 3tren = tris(2-methylaminoethyl)amine) with three thiosulfonate ligands (RSO 2S (-), where R = Me, Ph, and MePh) and characterized by microanalysis, FTIR spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. In these complexes, the distorted trigonal bipyramidal copper(II) coordination sphere is occupied by four amine nitrogen atoms from the tripodal tetramine ligand and an apically bound sulfur atom from the thiosulfonate ligand. By using the tripodal tetramine ligand the oxidation of the thiosulfonate has been restricted, allowing the isolation of the complexes. The Cu-S distances were found to be similar to those in related thiosulfate complexes, indicating coordinative interactions of similar strength. Two types of intramolecular hydrogen bonding interactions were evident which enhance the binding of the thiosulfonate to the copper(II) center. These interactions, which involve two amine N-H groups and either one or two thiosulfonate oxygens, were found to be weaker than in the corresponding thiosulfate complexes. The complex formation constants for the thiosulfonate complexes (log K f = 0.3-0.7) were found to be two orders of magnitude lower than compared to the thiosulfate analogues. This correlates well with a lower strength of intramolecular hydrogen bonding.  相似文献

Copper(I) complexes with the tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (TPMA) ligand were synthesized and characterized to examine the effect of counteranions (Br(-), ClO(4)(-), and BPh(4)(-)), as well as auxiliary ligands (CH(3)CN, 4,4'-dipyridyl, and PPh(3)) on the molecular structures in both solid state and solution. Partial dissociation of one of the pyridyl arms in TPMA was not observed when small auxiliary ligands such as CH(3)CN or Br(-) were coordinated to copper(I), but was found to occur with larger ones such as PPh(3) or 4,4'-dipyridyl. All complexes were found to adopt a distorted tetrahedral geometry, with the exception of [Cu(I)(TPMA)][BPh(4)], which was found to be trigonal pyramidal because of stabilization via a long cuprophilic interaction with a bond length of 2.8323(12) ?. Copper(II) complexes with the general formula [Cu(II)(TPMA)X][Y] (X = Cl(-), Br(-) and Y = ClO(4)(-), BPh(4)(-)) were also synthesized to examine the effect of different counterions on the geometry of [Cu(II)(TPMA)X](+) cation, and were found to be isostructural with previously reported [Cu(II)(TPMA)X][X] (X = Cl(-) or Br(-)) complexes.  相似文献

The copper(II) and copper(I) complexes of the chelating ligands 2,6-bis(benzimidazol-2'-ylthiomethyl)pyridine (bbtmp) and N,N-bis(benzimidazol-2'-ylthioethyl)methylamine (bbtma) have been isolated and characterized by electronic and EPR spectra. The molecular structures of a redox pair of Cu(II/I) complexes, viz., [Cu(bbtmp)(NO(3))]NO(3), 1, and [Cu(bbtmp)]NO(3), 2, and of [Cu(bbtmp)Cl], 3, have been determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The cation of the green complex [Cu(bbtmp)(NO(3))]NO(3) possesses an almost perfectly square planar coordination geometry in which the corners are occupied by the pyridine and two benzimidazole nitrogen atoms of the bbtmp ligand and an oxygen atom of the nitrate ion. The light-yellow complex [Cu(bbtmp)]NO(3) contains copper(I) with trigonal planar coordination geometry constituted by the pyridine and two benzimidazole nitrogen atoms of the bbtmp ligand. In the yellow chloride complex [Cu(bbtmp)Cl] the asymmetric unit consists of two complex molecules that are crystallographically independent. The coordination geometry of copper(I) in these molecules, in contrast to the nitrate, is tetrahedral, with pyridine and two benzimidazole nitrogen atoms of bbtmp ligand and the chloride ion occupying the apexes. The above coordination structures are unusual in that the thioether sulfurs are not engaged in coordination and the presence of two seven-membered chelate rings facilitates strong coordination of the benzimidazole nitrogens and discourage any distortion in Cu(II) coordination geometry. The solid-state coordination geometries are retained even in solution, as revealed by electronic, EPR, and (1)H NMR spectra. The electrochemical behavior of the present and other similar CuN(3) complexes has been examined, and the thermodynamic aspects of the electrode process are correlated to the stereochemical reorganizations accompanying the redox changes. The influence of coordinated pyridine and amine nitrogen atoms on the spectral and electrochemical properties has been discussed.  相似文献

This review traces the development and application of the tris(thioether)borate ligands, tripodal ligands with highly polarizable thioether donors. Areas of emphasis include the basic coordination chemistry of the mid-to-late first row transition metals (Fe, Ni, Co, Cu), and the role of the thioether substituent in directing complex formation, the modeling of zinc thiolate protein active sites, high-spin organo-iron and organo-cobalt chemistry, the preparation of monovalent complexes of Fe, Co and Ni, and dioxygen and sulfur activation by monovalent nickel complexes.  相似文献

The activation of dioxygen by dopamine beta-monooxygenase (DbetaM) and peptidylglycine alpha-hydroxylating monooxygenase (PHM) is postulated to occur at a copper site ligated by two histidine imidazoles and a methionine thioether, which is unusual because such thioether ligation is not present in other O2-activating copper proteins. To assess the possible role of the thioether ligand in O2 activation by DbetaM and PHM, two new ligands comprising beta-diketiminates with thioether substituents were synthesized and Cu(I) and Cu(II) complexes were isolated. The Cu(II) compounds are monomeric and exhibit intramolecular thioether coordination. While the Cu(I) complexes exhibit a multinuclear topology in the solid state, variable-temperature 1H NMR studies implicate equilibria in solution, possibly including monomers with intramolecular thioether coordination that are structurally defined by DFT calculations. Low-temperature oxygenation of solutions of the Cu(I) complexes generates stable 1:1 Cu/O2 adducts, which on the basis of combined experimental and theoretical studies adopt side-on "eta(2)" structures with negligible Cu-thioether bonding and significant peroxo-Cu(III) character. In contrast to previously reported findings with related ligands lacking the thioether group, however (cf., Aboelella; et al. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2004, 126, 16896), purging the solutions of the thioether-containing adducts with argon results in conversion to bis(mu-oxo)dicopper(III) species. A role for the thioether in promoting loss of O2 from the 1:1 Cu/O2 adduct and facilitating trapping of the resulting Cu(I) complex to yield the bis(mu-oxo) species is proposed, and the possible relevance of this role to that of the methionine in the active sites of DbetaM and PHM is discussed.  相似文献

The synthesis, spectroscopic, and crystal structures of three heteroleptic thioether/halide platinum(II) (Pt(II)) complexes of the general formula [Pt(9S3)X2] (9S3=1,4,7-trithiacyclononane, X=Cl, Br, I) are presented. All three 9S3/dihalo complexes form very similar structures in which the Pt(II) center is surrounded by a cis arrangement of two halides and two sulfur atoms from the 9S3 ligand. The third sulfur from the 9S3 forms a long distance interaction with the Pt center resulting in an elongated square pyramidal structure with a S2X2+S1 coordination geometry. The distances between the Pt(II) center and axial sulfur shorten with larger halide ions (Cl=3.260(3) Å>Br=3.243(2) Å>I=3.207(2) Å). These distances are consistent with the halides functioning as π donor ligands, and their Pt---S axial distances fall intermediate between Pt(II) thioether complexes involving π acceptor and σ donor ligands. The 195Pt NMR chemical shift values follow a similar trend with an increased shielding of the platinum ion with larger halide ions. The 9S3 ligand is fluxional in all of these complexes, producing a single carbon resonance. Additionally, a related series of homoleptic crown thioether complexes have been studied using 195Pt NMR, and there is a strong correlation between the chemical shift and complex structure. Homoleptic crown thioethers show the anticipated upfield chemical shifts with increasing number of coordinated sulfurs. Complexes containing four coordinated sulfur donors have chemical shifts that fall in the range of −4000 to −4800 ppm while a value near −5900 ppm is indicative of five coordinated sulfurs. However, for S4 crown thioether complexes, differences in the stereochemical orientation of lone pair electrons on the sulfur donors can greatly influence the observed 195Pt NMR chemical shifts, often by several hundred ppm.  相似文献

Using an acyclic hexadentate pyridine amide ligand, containing a -OCH(2)CH(2)O- spacer between two pyridine-2-carboxamide units (1,4-bis[o-(pyrydine-2-carboxamidophenyl)]-1,4-dioxabutane (H(2)L(9)), in its deprotonated form), four new complexes, [Co(II)(L(9))] (1) and its one-electron oxidized counterpart [Co(III)(L(9))][NO(3)]·2H(2)O (2), [Ni(II)(L(9))] (3) and [Cu(II)(L(9))] (4), have been synthesized. Structural analyses revealed that the Co(II) centre in 1 and the Ni(II) centre in 3 are six-coordinate, utilizing all the available donor sites and the Cu(II) centre in 4 is effectively five-coordinated (one of the ether O atoms does not participate in coordination). The structural parameters associated with the change in the metal coordination environment have been compared with corresponding complexes of thioether-containing hexadentate ligands. The μ(eff) values at 298 K of 1-4 correspond to S = 3/2, S = 0, S = 1 and S = 1/2, respectively. Absorption spectra for all the complexes have been investigated. EPR spectral properties of the copper(II) complex 4 have been investigated, simulated and analyzed. Cyclic voltammetric experiments in CH(2)Cl(2) reveal quasireversible Co(III)-Co(II), Ni(III)-Ni(II) and Cu(II)-Cu(I) redox processes. In going from ether O to thioether S coordination, the effect of the metal coordination environment on the redox potential values of Co(III)-Co(II) (here the effect of spin-state as well), Ni(III)-Ni(II) and Cu(II)-Cu(I) processes have been systematically analyzed.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterisation of four 17-membered, dibenzo-substituted macrocyclic ligands incorporating unsymmetrical arrangements of their N(3)S(2), N(3)O(2) and N(3)OS (two ligands) donor atoms are described; these rings complete the matrix of related macrocyclic systems incorporating both symmetric and unsymmetric donor sets reported previously. The X-ray structures of three of the new macrocycles are reported. In two of the Cu(II) structures only three of the possible five donor atoms present in the corresponding macrocyclic ligand bind to the Cu(II) site, whereas all five donors are coordinated in each of the remaining complexes. The interaction of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with the unsymmetric macrocycle series has been investigated by potentiometric (pH) titration in 95% methanol; X-ray structures of two nickel and three copper complexes of these ligands, each exhibiting 1:1 (M:L) ratios, have been obtained. The results are discussed in the context of previous results for these metals with the analogous 17-membered ring systems incorporating symmetrical arrangements of their donor atoms, with emphasis being given to both the influence of the donor atom set, as well as the donor atom sequence, on the nature of the resulting complexes.  相似文献

The tetradentate ligands 1,8-bis(pyrid-2-yl)-3,6-dithiaoctane (pdto) and 1,8-bis(benzimidazol-2-yl)-3,6-dithiaoctane (bbdo) form the complexes [Ru(pdto)(mu-Cl)](2)(ClO(4))(2) 1 and [Ru(bbdo)(mu-Cl)](2)(ClO(4))(2) 2 respectively. The new di-mu-chloro dimers 1 and 2 undergo facile symmetrical bridge cleavage reactions with the diimine ligands 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) and dipyridylamine (dpa) to form the six-coordinate complexes [Ru(pdto)(bpy)](ClO(4))(2) 3, [Ru(bbdo)(bpy)](ClO(4))(2) 4, [Ru(pdto)(dpa)](ClO(4))(2) 5 and [Ru(bbdo)(dpa)](ClO(4))(2) 6 and with the triimine ligand 2,2':6,2'-terpyridine (terpy) to form the unusual seven-coordinate complexes [Ru(pdto)(terpy)](ClO(4))(2) 7 and [Ru(bbdo)(terpy)](ClO(4))(2) 8. In 1 the dimeric cation [Ru(pdto)(mu-Cl)](2)(2+) is made up of two approximately octahedrally coordinated Ru(II) centers bridged by two chloride ions, which constitute a common edge between the two Ru(II) octahedra. Each ruthenium is coordinated also to two pyridine nitrogen and two thioether sulfur atoms of the tetradentate ligand. The ligand pdto is folded around Ru(II) as a result of the cis-dichloro coordination, which corresponds to a "cis-alpha" configuration [DeltaDelta/LambdaLambda(rac) diastereoisomer] supporting the possibility of some attractive pi-stacking interactions between the parallel py rings at each ruthenium atom. The ruthenium atom in the complex cations 3a and 4 exhibit a distorted octahedral coordination geometry composed of two nitrogen atoms of the bpy and the two thioether sulfur and two py/bzim nitrogen atoms of the pdto/bbdo ligand, which is actually folded around Ru(II) to give a "cis-alpha" isomer. The molecule of complex 5 contains a six-coordinated ruthenium atom chelated by pdto and dpa ligands in the expected distorted octahedral fashion. The (1)H and (13)C NMR spectral data of the complexes throw light on the nature of metal-ligand bonding and the conformations of the chelate rings, which indicates that the dithioether ligands maintain their tendency to fold themselves even in solution. The bis-mu-chloro dimers 1 and 2 show a spin-allowed but Laporte-forbidden t(2g)(6)((1)A(1g))--> t(2g)(5) e(g)(1)((1)T(1g), (1)T(2g)) d-d transition. They also display an intense Ru(II) dpi--> py/bzim (pi*) metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) transition. The mononuclear complexes 3-8 exhibit dpi-->pi* MLCT transitions in the range 340-450 nm. The binuclear complexes 1 and 2 exhibit a ligand field ((3)MC) luminescence even at room temperature, whereas the mononuclear complexes 3 and 4 show a ligand based radical anion ((3)MLCT) luminescence. The binuclear complexes 1 and 2 undergo two successive oxidation processes corresponding to successive Ru(II)/Ru(III) couples, affording a stable mixed-valence Ru(II)Ru(III) state (K(c): 1, 3.97 x 10(6); 2, 1.10 x 10(6)). The mononuclear complexes 3-7 exhibit only one while 8 shows two quasi-reversible metal-based oxidative processes. The coordinated 'soft' thioether raises the redox potentials significantly by stabilising the 'soft' Ru(II) oxidation state. One or two ligand-based reduction processes were also observed for the mononuclear complexes.  相似文献

The two ethylene bridges in the macrocyclic tetrathiaether 1,4,8,11-tetrathiacyclotetradecane ([14]aneS(4)) have been systematically replaced by cis- or trans-1,2-cyclopentane to generate a series of new ligands that exhibit differing preferences for the orientation of the sulfur donor atoms while maintaining constant inductive effects. The resulting five dicyclopentanediyl derivatives, along with two previously synthesized monocyclopentanediyl analogues, have been complexed with Cu(II), and their stability constants, formation and dissociation rate constants, and redox potentials have been determined in 80% methanol/20% water (by weight). The crystal structures of the Cu(II) complexes with the five dicyclopentanediyl-[14]aneS(4) diastereomers as well as the structures for a representative Cu(I) complex and one of the free ligands have also been determined. The properties of these complexes are compared to previous data obtained for the corresponding cyclohexanediyl derivatives in an attempt to shed additional light on the influence of sterically constraining substituents upon the properties of macrocyclic ligand complexes.  相似文献

A library of tripodal amine ligands with two oxime donor arms and a variable coordinating or noncoordinating third arm has been synthesized, including two chiral ligands based on l-phenylalanine. Their Ni(II) complexes have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography, UV-vis absorption, circular dichroism, and FTIR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and room-temperature magnetic susceptibility. At least one crystal structure is reported for all but one Ni/ligand combination. All show a six-coordinate pseudo-octahedral coordination geometry around the nickel center, with the bis(oxime)amine unit coordinating in a facial mode. Three distinct structure types are observed: (1) for tetradentate ligands, six-coordinate monomers are formed, with anions and/or solvent filling out the coordination sphere; (2) for tridentate ligands, six-coordinate monomers are formed with Ni(II)(NO(3))(2), with one monodentate and one bidentate nitrate filling the remaining coordination positions; (3) for tridentate ligands, six-coordinate, bis(mu-Cl) dimers are formed with Ni(II)Cl(2), with one terminal and two bridging chlorides filling the coordination sphere. The UV-vis absorption spectra of the complexes show that the value of 10 Dq varies according to the nature of the third arm of the ligand. The trend based on the third arm follows the order alkyl/aryl < amide < carboxylate < alcohol < pyridyl < oxime.  相似文献

A substantial oxidative N-debenzylation reaction along with PhCHO formation occurs from a hydroperoxo-copper(II) complex that has a dibenzylamino substrate (N(CH 2Ph) 2 appended as a substituent on one pyridyl group of its tripodal tetradentate TMPA (also TPA, (2-pyridylmethyl)amine)) ligand framework. During the course of the (L (N(CH 2 ) (Ph) 2 ))Cu (II)( (-)OOH) reactivity, the formation of a substrate and a (-)OOH-derived (an oxygen atom) alkoxo Cu (II)( (-)OR) complex occurs. The observation that the same Cu (II)( (-)OR) species occurs from Cu (Iota)/PhIO chemistry suggests the possibility that a copper-oxo (cupryl) reactive intermediate forms during the alkoxo species formation; new ESI-MS data provide further support for this high-valent intermediate. A net H atom abstraction chemistry is proposed on the basis of the kinetic isotope effect studies provided here and the previously published study for a closely related Cu (II)( (-)OOH) species incorporating dimethylamine (N(CH 3) 2) as the internal substrate; the Cu (Iota)/PhIO reactivity with similar isotope effect results provides further support. The reactivity of these chemical systems closely resembles the proposed oxidative N-dealkylation mechanisms that are effected by the copper monooxygenases, dopamine beta-monooxygenase (DbetaM) and peptidylglycine- alpha-hydroxylating monooxygenase (PHM).  相似文献

The synthesis of a series of RuII complexes incorporating thiacrown ligands ([12]ane-S4, [14]ane-S4, [16]ane-S4), as well as 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) or pyridine, is reported. Structural studies on these complexes have been carried out using a variety of techniques. Detailed 1H NMR spectroscopic studies on the previously reported [Ru([12]ane-S4)(bpy)]2+ (1) reveal that-contrary to earlier reports-the observed fluxional 1H NMR behavior is not due to chemical exchange involving cleavage of the bpy Ru--N bond but is, in fact, due to lone-pair inversion of coordinated macrocyclic sulfur donor atoms. This phenomenon is also observed for the [14]ane-S4 and [16]ane-S4 analogues of 1. For the first time, using a combination of X-ray crystallography, more detailed 1H NMR experiments, and computational methods, an in-depth study on the energetics and dynamics of invertomer formation and conversion for macrocyclic coordination complexes has been carried out. These studies reveal that the steric constraints of assembling each sulfur macrocycle and bpy ligand around the octahedral Ru(II) center lead to close intramolecular contacts. These contacts are largely dependent on the orientation of the electron lone pairs of equatorial sulfur donor atoms and correlate with the comparative stability of the different invertomeric forms. Thus, the conformational preferences of the three macrocyles in [Ru([n]ane-S4)(bpy)]2+ complexes are determined by steric rather than electronic effects.  相似文献
