A comprehensive 2-D GC (GC x GC) instrument equipped with a flow-switching modulator was used to determine the concentration of ethanol and eight other alcohols in a retail pump sample of E85 fuel. E85 is a mixture of ethanol and gasoline where the ethanol concentration can range from 70 to 85 vol%. The increased peak capacity and selectivity generated by GC x GC analysis allowed the alcohols to be fully resolved from the gasoline hydrocarbons. GC x GC analysis was compared to the performance obtained with the standard analytical method for determining ethanol in fuel ethanol (ASTM D5501) and the standard method for determining oxygenate concentrations in gasoline (ASTM D4815). The GC x GC analysis required 14 min while the combined ASTM D5501 and ASTM D4815 analyses required more than 60 min. The ethanol concentration obtained by GC x GC was in excellent agreement with the value obtained by the D5501 method. Poorer agreement was observed between the GC x GC and D4815 concentrations for the other alcohols present in E85. In all cases, the differences could be attributed to deficiencies in the D4815 method that led to coelutions between the alcohols and gasoline hydrocarbons.  相似文献

 分别用固相微萃取和动态顶空法分离栀子鲜花的头香成分,用GC/MS技术分析鉴定,并用GC/MS总离子流色谱峰的峰面积进行归一化定量。在固相微萃取方法中,共鉴定了54种化学成分,占总峰面积的99.98%。主要成分(质量分数)依次为金合欢烯(64.86%)、罗勒烯(29.33%)、芳樟醇(2.74%)、惕各酸顺式叶醇酯(1.34%)和苯甲酸甲酯(0.25%)等。经与动态顶空法的分析结果比较发现,固相微萃取法不仅操作简便,而且具有较高的采样灵敏度,获得的化学成分的信息量多于动态顶空法。  相似文献

Comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC) has been applied to the quantitative analysis of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), and all heavier aromatic compounds in gasoline. The two-dimensional chromatographic separation used volatility selection on the first-dimension column and polarity selection on the second-dimension column. In the resulting GC×GC chromatogram, aromatic species were resolved from other compound classes. Moreover, structurally related aromatics were grouped in a manner that facilitated identification and integration. The response of a flame ionization detector to each major aromatic group in gasoline was calibrated using internal standards. Quantitation produced results directly comparable with ASTM standard methods. The present GC×GC method can be expanded to analyze other gasoline components.  相似文献

火场残留物如碳灰、烧残物等通常经过样品预处理后进行分析鉴定。传统的样品预处理方法往往操作繁琐、费时、重复性差,而且需用大量有机溶剂,不利于分析人员的身体健康,对环境也会造成一定污染。固相微萃取(solid-phasemicroextraction,SPME)是在固相萃取技术的基础上发展起来的一项新的样品预处理技术,于1989年由加拿大Waterloo大学的J.Pawliszyn教授等首次提出,1993年美国的Supelco公司推出了商业化的固相微萃取设备。该技术具有快速、高效、简便、无需溶剂、易于自动化操作等优点,近年来受到了国外学者的普遍关注,已经被用于环境分析和药品检测等许多领域,  相似文献

The coupling of headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) with comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC x GC) was shown to be a powerful technique for the rapid sampling and analysis of volatile oils in complex herbal materials. When compared to one-dimensional (1-D) GC, the improved analytical capabilities of GC x GC in terms of increased detection sensitivity and separation power were demonstrated by using HS-SPME/GC x GC for the chemical profiling (fingerprinting) of essential/volatile oils contained in herbal materials of increasing analytical complexity. More than 20 marker compounds belonging to Panax quinquefolius (American ginseng) can be observed within the 2-D contour plots of ginseng itself, a mixture of ginseng and another important herb (P. quinquefolius/Radix angelicae sinensis), as well as a mixture of ginseng and three other herbs (P. quinquefolius /R. angelicae sinensis/R. astragali/R. rehmanniae preparata). Such analytical capabilities should be important towards the authentication and quality control of herbal products, which are receiving increasing attention as alternative medicines worldwide. In particular, the presence of Panax in the herb formulation could be readily identified through its specific peak pattern in the 2-D GC x GC plot.  相似文献

In this paper a set of Brazilian commercial gasoline representative samples from São Paulo State, selected by HCA, plus six samples obtained directly from refineries were analysed by a high-sensitive gas chromatographic (GC) method ASTM D6733. The levels of saturated hydrocarbons and anhydrous ethanol obtained by GC were correlated with the quality obtained from Brazilian Government Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP) specifications through exploratory analysis (HCA and PCA). This correlation showed that the GC method, together with HCA and PCA, could be employed as a screening technique to determine compliance with the prescribed legal standards of Brazilian gasoline.  相似文献

 采用环氧树脂作为固相涂层制作固相微萃取 (SPME)装置 ,建立了顶空固相微萃取 气相法 (HS SPME GC)测定酒精饮料中甲醇和杂醇油的方法 ,并对萃取条件和条件进行了优化。方法的检出限为 0 0 2mg/L~0 0 4mg/L ,相对标准偏差为 1 4 %~ 4 1% ;与顶空气相法相比 ,灵敏度可提高 2 0倍~ 30 0倍。将该法用于啤酒、葡萄酒和保健酒中的甲醇和杂醇油的测定 ,加标回收率为 80 8%~ 110 3% ;与顶空气相法 (国家标准方法 )进行了比较 ,相对误差不大于 7 3%。该法简便、快速、灵敏、精密度好 ,拓宽了SPME的应用范围。  相似文献

The estimation of physicochemical parameters such as distillation points and relative densities still plays an important role in the quality control of gasoline and similar fuels. Their measurements according to standard ASTM procedures demands specific equipments and are time and work consuming. An alternative method to predict distillation points and relativity density by multivariate analysis of comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC×GC-FID) data is presented here. Gasoline samples, previously tested according to standard methods, were used to build regression models, which were evaluated by external validation. The models for distillation points were built using variable selection methods, while the model for relativity density was built using the whole chromatograms. The root mean square prediction differences (RMSPD) obtained were 0.85%, 0.48%, 1.07% and 1.71% for 10, 50 and 90% v/v of distillation and for the final point of distillation, respectively. For relative density, the RMSPD was 0.24%. These results suggest that GC×GC-FID combined with multivariate analysis can be used to predict these physicochemical properties of gasoline.  相似文献

A novel in-needle microextraction (INME) for headspace sampling evaluated in this study has significantly higher extraction speed and the practical merits of a durable stainless steel needle to overcome some exposed fiber related drawbacks. A prototype stainless steel needle (Hamilton 90022, 22 gauge bevel tip, 51 mm length) packed with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS, 0.413 mm O.D., 10 mm length) having a micro-bore (200 μm I.D.) tunnel was prepared as a new INME device. This needle with a barrel and a plunger is then inserted and exposed into the headspace over the sample. Headspace sampling can be speeded up by an automatic reciprocating pump. The extraction parameters have been optimized along with the validation of method performance. The methodology has been applied for the analysis of volatile aroma active components emitted from eight kinds of citrus essential oils by GC-FID or GC/MS. The proposed method showed excellent linearity, reproducibility, and low detection limit. This solventless technique is simple to operate, inexpensive to fabricate, and provides a facile means for collecting and introducing volatile aroma active components of essential oils.  相似文献

This paper reports an improved headspace gas chromatographic (GC) technique for determination of monomer solubilities in water. The method is based on a multiple headspace extraction GC technique developed previously [X.S. Chai, Q.X. Hou, F.J. Schork, J. Appl. Polym. Sci., in press], but with the major modification in the method calibration technique. As a result, only a few iterations of headspace extraction and GC measurement are required, which avoids the "exhaustive" headspace extraction, and thus the experimental time for each analysis. For highly insoluble monomers, effort must be made to minimize adsorption in the headspace sampling channel, transportation conduit and capillary column by using higher operating temperature and a short capillary column in the headspace sampler and GC system. For highly water soluble monomers, a new calibration method is proposed. The combinations of these technique modifications results in a method that is simple, rapid and automated. While the current focus of the authors is on the determination of monomer solubility in aqueous solutions, the method should be applicable to determination of solubility of any organic in water.  相似文献

Comprehensive two‐dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC) has been applied to the quantitation of oxygenates in reformulated gasoline. Target oxygenates were C1–C4 alcohols, tert‐pentanol, methyl tert‐butyl ether (MTBE), diisopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tert‐butyl ether (ETBE), and tert‐amyl methyl ether (TAME). These were separated from the gasoline matrix using a volatility‐based selectivity in the first chromatographic dimension, followed by a mixed‐phase polarity/shape selectivity in the second dimension. The high resolving power of this stationary phase combination completely separated all oxygenates except DIPE, ETBE, and TAME, which exhibited coelution with other nonpolar gasoline components. Oxygenates quantitation was achieved with the use of an internal standard, an FID detector, and calibration curves. Quantitation results are in good agreement with ASTM and EPA standard methods. When coupled with our previous method for BTEX and aromatics, a single GC×GC method can now quantitate MTBE, alcohols, BTEX, and aromatics in a one‐hour analysis.  相似文献

A headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) method is developed for the determination of styrene in drinking water. Gas chromatography (GC)-mass spectrometry is utilized for qualitative analysis. A manual SPME holder with 85-microm polyacrylate coating is used to extract the styrene from water, which is determined to have good linearity (correlation coefficient r = 0.9999 for 1.00-100.00 microg/L range), a relative standard deviation of 1.9%, and a detection limit of 0.30 microg/L. Static headspace sampling and headspace solid-phase microextraction have been applied for the determination of the low molecular mass aldehydes—markers of edible oil oxidation. Preconcentration and determination conditions for the two procedures were optimized. LODs LOQs and repeatability of a standard mixture were established for all investigated compounds. Both methods of sampling were applied to the analysis of samples of rapeseed and sunflower oils. It appears that solid-phase microextraction is better than headspace sampling for the analysis of volatile oxidation products. Solid-phase microextraction can be conducted at a much lower temperature and has lower LOD values and better repeatability than headspace sampling.  相似文献

Here are reported two new sampling method approaches for the determination of naphthalene in ambient air for concentrations from 0.25 to 18.7?µg/L. The first method used for gas phase naphthalene analysis produced an average recovery of 88.8% and the second method using headspace sampling produced an average recovery of 93.8%. The second method showed better recovery than the former, so it was used for subsequent comparative gas-phase determination of naphthalene. The second method was validated at various naphthalene concentrations and humidity using a naphthalene gas generator to produce various naphthalene standards and a naphthalene-monitoring instrument. The naphthalene concentrations generated using the gas generator and determined second sampling method with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) were compared to the sensor measurements and were in good agreement. In summary, the sampling methods presented provided reliable gas-phase naphthalene determination when coupled with GC–MS.  相似文献

In this study, a new sampling method called headspace mulberry paper bag micro solid phase extraction (HS-MPB-μ-SPE) combined to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry has been applied for the analysis of volatile aromas of liquid essential oils from Bulgarian rose and Provence lavender. The technique uses an adsorbent (Tenax TA) contained in a mulberry paper bag, minimal amount of organic solvent. Linearities for the six-points calibration curves were excellent. LOD values were in the rage from 0.38 ng mL−1 to 0.77 ng mL−1. Overall, precision and recovery were generally good. Phenethyl alcohol and citronellol were the main components in the essential oil from Bulgarian rose. Linalyl acetate and linalool were the most abundant components in the essential oils from true lavender or lavandin. Additionally, the relative extraction efficiencies of proposed method have been compared with HS-SPME. The overall extraction efficiency was evaluated by the relative concentration factors (CF) of the several characteristic components. CF values by HS-MPB-μ-SPE were lower than those by headspace solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME). The HS-MPB-μ-SPE method is very simple to use, inexpensive, rapid, requires small sample amounts and solvent consumption. In addition, this method allowed combining of extraction, enrichment, and clean-up in a single step. HS-MPB-μ-SPE and GC/MS is a promising technique for the characterization of volatile aroma compounds from liquid essential oils.  相似文献

High concentration capacity headspace techniques (headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) and headspace sorptive extraction (HSSE)) are a bridge between static and dynamic headspace, since they give high concentration factors as does dynamic headspace (D-HS), and are as easy to apply and as reproducible as static headspace (S-HS). In 2000, Chromtech (Idstein, Germany) introduced an inside-needle technique for vapour and liquid sampling, solid-phase dynamic extraction (SPDE), also known as "the magic needle". In SPDE, analytes are concentrated on a 50 microm film of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and activated carbon (10%) coated onto the inside wall of the stainless steel needle (5 cm) of a 2.5 ml gas tight syringe. When SPDE is used for headspace sampling (HS-SPDE), a fixed volume of the headspace of the sample under investigation is sucked up an appropriate number of times with the gas tight syringe and an analyte amount suitable for a reliable GC or GC-MS analysis accumulates in the polymer coating the needle wall. This article describes the preliminary results of both a study on the optimisation of sampling parameters conditioning HS-SPDE recovery, through the analysis of a standard mixture of highly volatile compounds (beta-pinene, isoamyl acetate and linalool) and of the HS-SPDE-GC-MS analyses of aromatic plants and food matrices. This study shows that HS-SPDE is a successful technique for HS-sampling with high concentration capability, good repeatability and intermediate precision, also when it is compared to HS-SPME.  相似文献

研究了应用化学计量学方法解决汽油单体烃的气相色谱分析中单体烃定性库的自动选择问题。通过提取汽油单体烃谱图中的29个组分及其含量信息作为特征值,利用主成分分析法对不同工艺得到的催化裂化汽油、焦化汽油、直馏汽油、重整汽油和烷基化汽油进行分类,结合相似分析方法(即SIMCA方法)建立了各类汽油样本的类模型,借助这些类模型可以实现对未知样本的类型判别。所提出的识别方法可方便快速地判别待分析样品所属的汽油类别,并据此推荐适合该样品的定性模型库,从而实现汽油单体烃的快速、自动分析。  相似文献

In the present article, a headspace solid-phase microextraction method coupled to GC/MS was developed and applied for the simultaneous determination of mono- and sesquiterpenic hydrocarbons in virgin olive oils of different olive variety and geographical origin. Analysis of various oils resulted in the simultaneous detection of 15 monoterpenes and 30 sesquiterpenes. Some of these hydrocarbons were previously reported to be constituents of virgin olive oil terpenoid fraction, although we also detected some terpenic hydrocarbons that have not previously been documented as present in virgin olive oil. Significant differences were detected in the proportion of terpenic compounds in oils obtained from different olive varieties grown in different geographical areas. The monoterpene, and particularly the sesquiterpene composition of olive oil may be used to distinguish samples from different cultivar and geographical areas.  相似文献

The current method of choice for the extraction of flammable or combustible liquid resides from fire debris samples is passive headspace concentration using activated charcoal strips (ACS) for adsorption of the liquid residues followed by elution with carbon disulfide or other suitable solvent. Presently, we report a new technique based on headspace solid-phase microextraction which has been successfully applied to the identification of a wide range of accelerants commonly seen in arson analysis. The SPME technique developed is simple, inexpensive, rapid, and eliminates the use of the highly flammable and toxic solvent carbon disulfide. Results using this SPME method have been directly compared to results obtained via the ACS technique for light, medium, and heavy petroleum distillates as well as gasoline. All of the accelerants studied were accurately identified by the SPME method with equal or greater sensitivity compared to the ACS method.  相似文献
