Two Co(Ⅱ)-based Coordination Polymers Constructed from π-electron-rich Polycarboxylate Aryl Ether Ligand: Structural Insights and Photocatalytic Dye Degradation

In the present study, two new Co(Ⅱ)-based coordination polymers(CPs) with chemical formulas of {[Co_3(μ_3-OH)(L)(H_2O)_3]·2H_2O}_n(1) and {[Co_3(μ_3-OH)(L)(H_2O)]·_2DMF·3H_2O}_n(2) have been successfully prepared by the reaction of Co(NO_3)_2·6H_2O with π-electron-rich polycarboxylate aryl ether ligand 5,5'-((5-carboxy-1,3-phenylene)bis(oxy))diisophthalic acid(H_5L) under different solvothermal reaction conditions. Both CPs have been studied via single-crystal X-day diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction(PXRD) and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). The photophysical studies indicated that complex 2 with good water stability is a potential semiconductive material, which could be applied for the degradation of methylene blue(MB) under UV light irradiation and exhibit good stability and recyclability.

Hydrothermal Syntheses and Crystal Structures of Cobalt（Ⅱ） Complexes Constructed by Dipyrido[3,2-a：2＇,3＇-c]phenazine and Different Carboxylate Ligands

Two new metal-organic complexes,{[Co2(bptc)(DPPZ)2(H2O)2]·H2O}n 1 and {[Co2(ccm)2(DPPZ)2]·2H2O}n 2,were obtained by the hydrothermal reactions of Co(NO3)2·6H2O with chelating ligand dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine(DPPZ) and the corresponding carboxylic acid,namely,3,3',4,4'-benzophenonetetracarboxylic acid(H4bptc) or 2-carboxycinnamic acid(H2ccm),respectively.The complexes were structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction,elemental analyses,IR spectra,and thermal gravimetry.1 presents unique chiral chain structures,which are further consolidated into three-dimensional supramolecular frameworks via noncovalent bonds,such as hydrogen bonding and π-π interactions.2 features infinite double-chain structures,which are connected by strong π-π interactions to result in three-dimensional supramolecular architectures.     

两种异金属链状配位聚合物的合成和晶体结构

在甲醇溶液中,将K2NiL·H2O和M(OAC)2(M = Co,Zn)按1:1的摩尔比进行组装反应,得到了镍、钴和镍、锌两种异金属一维链状配位聚合物,其化学组成分别为{[Ni2Co2L2(H2O)2]·CH3OH·3H2O}n（1）和{[Ni2Zn2L2 (H2O)2]·2CH3OH·H2O}n（2）,（H4L=2-羟基-3-[(E)-({2-(2-羟基苯甲酰胺基)乙基}亚氨基)甲基]苯甲酸,OAC- = CH3COO-）。通过IR谱,元素分析的方法对其进行了表征,利用X-射线单晶衍射方法对其晶体结构进行了测定,结构分析表明：它们都是由不对称四核单元组成链状配位聚合物。     

Self‐assembly of Two Cobalt(II) Coordination Polymers Derived from Tetrabromoterephthalate and Flexible Bis(Benzimidazole) Co‐ligands

Two new cobalt(II) coordination polymers, {[Co(L1)(tbta)] · 0.8H₂O}_n ( 1 ) and {[Co(L2)(tbta)] · H₂O}_n ( 2 ) [L1 = 1,1′‐(1,3‐propanediyl)bis(2‐methylbenzimidazole), L2 = 1,2‐bis(2‐methylbenzimidazole‐1‐ylmethyl)benzene, H₂tbta = tetrabromoterephthalic acid] were obtained under hydrothermal conditions and structurally characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction methods, IR spectroscopy, TGA, and elemental analysis. The cobalt atoms present similar environments with tetrahedral arrangements in 1 and 2 . The two complexes show a 2D (4,4) coordination network with sql topology. Compound 2 is further extended into a rare 3 , 3 , 4T3 three‐dimensional supramolecular framework by weak C–H ··· O hydrogen bonding interactions. The fluorescence and catalytic properties of the complexes for the degradation of the congo red azo dye in a Fenton‐like process were investigated.     

Hydrothermal Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a Manganese(II) Coordination Polymer with 1,1′-Biphenyl-2,2′,6,6′-tetracarboxyl Acid and 2,2′:6,2′′-Terpyridine Ligands

The title compound {[Mn(H2BPTC)(tpy)(H2O)]·(H2O)3}n (1, H4BPTC = 1,1′- biphenyl-2,2′,6,6′-tetracarboxylic acid, tby = 2,2′:6,2′′-terpyridine) has been synthesized by the hydrothermal reaction, and its structure was determined by X-ray diffraction and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectrum and thermogravimetric analysis. The crystal is of monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 10.971(2), b = 20.776(4), c = 14.332(3) , β = 109.25(3)o, MnC31H27N3O12, Mr = 688.50, V = 3084.1(10) 3, Dc = 1.483 g/cm3, F(000) = 1420, μ = 0.498 mm-1, S = 1.066 and Z = 4. The final refinement gave R = 0.0447 and wR = 0.1103 for 5107 observed reflections with I > 2σ(I). The title complex has a {[Mn(H2BPTC)(tpy)(H2O)]}n chain structure, and the hydrogen bonding interactions make it more stable. Each chain is further connected to the adjacent ones through π···π, C-H···π and rich hydrogen bonds to form a metal-organic coordination polymer.     

Metal‐ and Substituent‐Dependent Structural Diversity in ­Cobalt and Nickel Isophthalate Coordination Polymers with Bis(4‐pyridylformyl)piperazine Tethers

Hydrothermal reactions of nickel or cobalt nitrate with the dipyridylamide ligand bis(4‐pyridylformyl)piperazine (4‐bpfp) and either 5‐methoxyisophthalate (H₂omeip) or 5‐methylisophthalate (H₂mip) afforded a series of coordination polymers that were structurally characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Different synthetic conditions afforded the 1D chain phase {[Ni(Homeip)₂(H₂omeip)(bpfp)] · 2H₂O}_n ( 1 ) or the mutually inclined interpenetrated (4, 4) grid system in {[Ni(omeip)(bpfp)(H₂O)] · 2H₂O}_n ( 2 ). The analogous cobalt phase {[Co(omeip)(bpfp)] · 3H₂O}_n ( 3 ) lacks bound water molecules, which enforces a non‐interpenetrated (4, 4) grid structure based on {Co₂(OCO)₂} dinuclear clusters. Similar clusters are seen in {[Co(mip)(bpfp)(H₂O)₂] · 3.5H₂O}_n ( 4 ), which manifests a 1D ribbon structural motif. Its nickel congener {[Ni(Hmip)₂(bpfp)(H₂O)₂] · 2H₂mip}_n ( 5 ) also shows a 1D chain motif. A variable temperature magnetic susceptibility study indicates antiferromagnetic coupling within the dimeric units in 3 and 4 concomitant with single ion effects. Additionally, thermal degradation properties of these new materials are described.     

Construction of a Set of Cadmium（Ⅱ） Coordination Polymers with Atza and 2,2′-Bipy or 1,10-Phen Ligands （Atza=5-Aminotetrazole-1-acetato Anion）

Reactions of CdX2(X=NO3-, ClO4-) with Hatza (atza=5-aminotetrazole-1-acetato anion) and 2,2′-bipyridine (2,2′-bipy) or 1,10-phenanthroline (1,10-phen) in a methanol/aqueous solution produced a set of new Cd(Ⅱ) coordination polymers, {[Cd(atza)(H2O)(2,2′-bipy)]ClO4}n (1), {[Cd(atza)(H2O)(1,10-phen)]ClO4 }n (2), {[Cd(atza)(H2O)(2,2′-bipy)]NO3}n (3) and {[Cd(atza)2 (1,10-phen)]·0.5H2O}n (4). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that each Cd(Ⅱ) ion has a distorted octahedral coordination geometry in 1-4, and the Cd(Ⅱ) ion centers are connected through the tridentate atza bridging ligands to form a 2D layer (1-3) or ID chain (4) structure. The fluorescent properties of 2 and 4 are also discussed.     

Temperature-directed structural recurrence in low-symmetric Co(II) complexes and nanocrystals

Low-symmetric complexes {[Co(μ(2)-L)(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O}(n) (1) and {[Co(μ(3)-L)(H(2)O)]·0.5H(2)O}(n) (2) and corresponding nanocrystals were obtained, which exhibit structural recurrence behaviour at various temperatures as well as changes of chiral, nonlinear optical and ferroelectric properties.
