We report the synthesis of various thiophene/phenylene co‐oligomers with a total number of thiophene and benzene (phenylene) rings of 6 to 8. These compounds include a phenyl‐capped sexithiophene, a thienyl‐capped quaterphenylene, as well as block and alternating co‐oligomers. The synthesis is based on either the Suzuki coupling reaction or the direct dimerization coupling. The latter method produces symmetric molecules with an even total ring number. These reaction schemes enabled us to obtain the target compounds in high quality. Although the resulting materials are difficult to dissolve in organic solvents and therefore difficult to identify by usual 1H nmr spectroscopy, they have successfully been identified through Fourier‐transform ir spectroscopy. The specific group frequencies of ring‐stretching and out‐of‐plane deformation modes are characteristic of the substitution pattern of the individual thiophene and benzene rings.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of block and alternating thiophene/phenylene co‐oligomers that is based either on the Suzuki coupling reaction or on the Grignard reaction. These reaction schemes enable us to obtain the target compounds at reasonably high yields. The resulting materials have been fully characterized through the solid‐state 13C nmr and Fourier‐transform ir as well as the 1H nmr. Of these, the solid‐state 13C nmr and ir are particularly useful in characterizing the materials of higher molecular weight, since those materials are difficult to dissolve in organic solvents.  相似文献

An alternative method for synthesis of biaryls has been developed through the Pd catalyzed desulfitative coupling reaction of sodium arylsulfinates with aryl bromides and chlorides. The procedure tolerates a variety of functional groups, such as cyano, formyl, acetyl, chloro, methoxy, trifluoromethyl and heteroaromatic unit. The desired products were obtained in moderate to excellent yields under relatively mild reaction conditions without additives, base or co-catalyst.  相似文献

Novel rod like phenylene thiophene based polyhydroxy amphiphiles, derivatives of gallic acid combining three hydrophilic 2,3‐dihydroxypropyloxy groups and one alkyl chain via central aromatic linking units, have been synthesized by using Ni(II), Pd(0) catalyzed coupling reaction as key steps. The mesophase behavior of such compounds was investigated by POM and DSC. Thereby the influence of the position of the alkyl chains on the mesophase behavior was discussed. All such compounds exhibit smectic A phases. As the alkyl chain moving from the terminal position to the lateral position near the central of the rigid core, the stability of the smectic A phase would be decreased.  相似文献

The preparation of 4'-alkyl- and 4'-alkoxy-4-cyano-3-fluorobiphenyls by four different procedures is described and discussed; the best method involves palladium(0)-catalysed coupling of arylboronic acids and 4-bromo-(or 4-iodo-)-2-fluorobenzonitrile. The effects on transition temperatures of fluoro substitution ortho to the terminal cyano group in biphenyls are compared with the effects in other terminal cyano compounds and in mesogens without a terminal cyano group. The effect of the ortho fluoro substituent in 4-cyanobiphenyls is particularly large and is probably due to the severe disruption of antiparallel correlations; the depressions of the smectic A and nematic phase stabilities are similar which suggests that, as for compounds with alkyl or alkoxy terminal groups, the fluoro substituent at the 3-position has a tendency to enhance smectic character, but this is offset by the molecular broadening it causes.  相似文献

The tetraphosphine all‐cis‐1,2,3,4‐tetrakis(diphenylphosphinomethyl)cyclopentane (Tedicyp) in combination with [Pd(C3H5)Cl]2 affords an efficient catalyst of the coupling of 2‐chloroacrylonitrile with arylboronic acids. In the presence of 1% catalyst, the 2‐arylacrylonitrile derivatives were obtained in medium to good yields. A variety of substituents such as alkyl, methoxy, fluoro, trifluoromethyl, formyl, or nitro on the arylboronic acid are tolerated. The cross‐coupling reactions of methyl 2‐chloroacrylate with arylboronic acids give simple access to 2‐phenylacrylate derivatives, which are useful precursors for the synthesis of biologically active compounds such as ibuprofen, ketoprofen, and naproxen.  相似文献

A series of thiophene‐fused tropylium ions, containing various electron‐donating amino groups at the terminal positions, was synthesized. The fusion of the thiophene rings, as well as the presence of the terminal amino groups endows the cationic tropylium ion with excellent stability and high pKR+ values. X‐ray crystallographic analysis of these compounds revealed a pronounced quinoidal character for the amino‐substituted dithienotropylium skeletons. These compounds exhibit attractive photophysical properties such as strong absorption in the visible region combined with red fluorescence. Theoretical calculations suggested that the 3,3′‐bithiophene substructure should be crucial for attaining these photophysical properties.  相似文献

Novel amphiphilic block molecules consisting of a rigid 2‐phenylthiophene or 5‐phenylbithienyl core, with a polar glycerol group attached to the phenyl ring and one or two alkyl chains attached to the thiophene ring on the other side, have been synthesised by using Ni(0) and Pd(0) catalyzed coupling reactions as key steps. The thermotropic and solvent‐induced liquid crystalline behaviour of these compounds was investigated by polarising optical microscopy and X‐ray diffraction. The influence of the length, number and position of the alkyl chains, and the length of the rigid core, on their mesophase behaviour was investigated. Compounds with one alkyl chain in the terminal 5‐position on the thiophene ring form only smectic A phases, compounds with two adjacent alkyl chains attached in the 4‐ and 5‐positions of the thiophene ring exhibit thermotropic columnar mesophases, and those with two long alkyl chains attached to the 3‐ and 5‐positions form columnar LC phases only in the presence of water. Another compound containing the longer 5‐phenylbithienyl core unit and two alkyl chains attached in lateral positions to each of the thiophene rings is not mesogenic.  相似文献

A ligand‐enabled Pd‐catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura coupling of haloterthienyls for the synthesis of various thiophene‐based π‐conjugated oligomers including quinquethiophenes is demonstrated. An indolyl phosphine ligand plays an important role in this transformation. Thiopheneboronic acids were well applied, which might open up a window for the application of thiopheneboronic acids in the synthesis of thiophene‐based π‐conjugated oligomers in materials chemistry.  相似文献

Cross‐coupling is of great importance in organic synthesis. Here it is demonstrated that cross‐coupling of aryl‐bromide and porphyrin‐bromide takes place on a Au(111) surface in vacuo. The products are oligomers consisting of porphyrin moieties linked by p‐phenylene at porphyrin’s meso‐positions. The ratio of the cross‐coupled versus homocoupled bonds can be regulated by the reactant concentrations. Kinetic Monte Carlo simulations were applied to determine the activation barrier. It is expected that this reaction can be employed in other aryl‐bromide precursors for designing alternating co‐polymers incorporating porphyrin and other functional moieties.  相似文献

Palladium-catalyzed couplings of aryl bromides with N-tert-butylhydrazones as acyl anion equivalents to form aryl ketones are reported. The coupling process occurs at the C-position of hydrazones to form N-tert-butyl azo compounds. Isomerization of these azo compounds to the corresponding hydrazones, followed by hydrolysis, gave the desired mixed alkyl aryl ketones. The selectivity of C- versus N-arylation was strongly influenced by the substituent on nitrogen. Arylation at carbon occurred with N-tert-butylhydrazones, whereas N-arylation occurred with N-arylhydrazones. The arylation of hydrazones containing primary and secondary alkyl groups, as well as aryl groups, gave the desired ketones in good yields after hydrolysis. Functional groups on the aromatic ring, such as alkoxy, cyano, trifluoromethyl, carboalkoxy, carbamoyl, and keto groups, were tolerated. This reaction likely occurs by C-C bond-forming reductive elimination from an intermediate containing an eta1-diazaallyl ligand.  相似文献

Readily available 1,1-dichloro-2-alkynes are versatile starting materials for the synthesis of polyfunctionalized allenes. They can be prepared from commercially available terminal alkynes in a two-step procedure. The Cu-mediated reaction of several 1,1-propargylic derivatives with functionalized alkyl, benzylic, or allylic zinc reagents proceeds exclusively with S(N)2' selectivity and allows a rapid and efficient synthesis of functionalized chloroallenes. These chloroallenes undergo a novel Cu(I) -catalyzed substitution reaction with functionalized arylmagnesium reagents with excellent S(N)2 selectivity to give trisubstituted polyfunctionalized allenes. The functional group tolerance is excellent and functionalities, such as cyano, keto, ester, phosphate, trifluoromethyl, and halogens, are well tolerated.  相似文献

A convenient and higher yielding synthetic route to N‐alkyl‐bis(thiophene)phenothiazine derivatives is reported and their aggregation, electrochemical properties and polymerization are characterized. The key step in the synthesis of this group of compounds has been the Stille type coupling reaction between the N‐alkyldibromophenothiazine and tin derivatives of thiophene as the best way for preparation of conjugated N‐alkylphenothiazine derivatives. For this group of compounds we also present an electrochemical polymerization effect and widely adopted approach to prepare structurally ordered thin, electroconducting films by Langmuir–Blodgett technique.  相似文献

We herein report photoinduced step-growth polymerization of highly conjugated 2,5-dithiophenyl (thieno[3,4-b] thiophene) (TTs) derivatives possessing 4-cyanophenyl or 4-methoxyphenyl or 3-(4-fluorophenyl) groups substituted at the terminal position. Upon irradiation at 350 nm, the excited state of these molecules forms exciplex with diphenyliodonium hexafluorophosphate (DPI) that undergoes electron transfer reaction forming radical cations. Successive proton release and radical coupling reactions yield corresponding oligothienothiophenes with overall yields varying between 19–74%. Structural and molecular weight characteristics of the oligomers thus formed were investigated by Ultraviolet, fluorescence, NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) and infrared (IR) spectroscopic methods, and GPC (Gel Permeation Chromatography), respectively. The effect of substitution and dithiophene side groups on the reactivity of the monomer and band gap of the oligomers formed was evaluated by using cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

Twelve compounds based on lateral fluorinated bistolane moieties with cyano or trifluoromethyl terminal groups were synthesised with Hagihara–Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction. The molecular structures of the compounds were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared, 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry. The transition temperatures, optical textures and optical anisotropies were determined by differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing optical microscopy and ultraviolet microscopy. The effects of the terminal substituents and lateral fluorosubstituent group on their physical properties were investigated and discussed. The compounds with lateral double fluorosubstituent and cyano terminal group exhibited nematogenic texture, while other compounds showed smectic phase. All the compounds exhibited wide liquid crystal temperature ranges and high clearing points. Interestingly, the compounds have the high birefringence in the range of between 0.480 and 0.633.  相似文献

Ketones are among the most useful functional groups in organic synthesis, and they are commonly encountered in a broad range of compounds with various applications. Herein, we describe the mesoionic carbene-catalyzed coupling reaction of aldehydes with non-activated secondary and even primary alkyl halides. This metal-free method utilizes deprotonated Breslow intermediates derived from mesoionic carbenes (MICs), which act as super electron donors and induce the single-electron reduction of alkyl halides. This mild coupling reaction has a broad substrate scope and tolerates many functional groups, which allows to prepare a diversity of simple ketones as well as bio-active molecules by late-stage functionalization.  相似文献

Summary: A novel poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) (PPV)/poly(p‐phenylene ethynylene) (PPE) block‐copolymer was synthesized by a cross‐coupling polycondensation with Pd(PPh3)2Cl2 and a phase‐transfer catalyst, and was confirmed by 1H NMR and IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The thermal, electrochemical, and photoluminescent properties of the new copolymer have been investigated. The incorporation of triple bonds into the cyano‐substituted PPV (CN‐PPV) backbone leads to higher oxidation and reduction potentials than poly(2‐methoxy‐5‐(2‐ethylhexyloxy)‐p‐phenylene vinylene) (MEH‐PPV) and CN‐PPV, potentially making the copolymer a good electron‐transporting material for use in a light‐emitting‐diode device.

The reaction in tetrahydrofuran between the disodium salt of anthracene (A) and alkyl dihalides (RX2) results in oligomeric products with a repeat unit -[A-R]-. The same reaction with the dilithium derivative is complicated by the high reactivity of this species toward solvent; oligomers with -(CH2)4OH end groups are isolated. The xylylene dihalides undergo metallation and Wurtz coupling, and they produce low yields of oligomers rich in xylylene units.The reaction with dilithium acenaphthylene and alkyl dihalides gives a high yield of copolymer but there is evidence of crosslinking. Although addition occurs principally across the 1.2 position, some 1,5 addition is believed to cause this crosslinking. With dilithium phenanthrene the reaction is mainly one of electron transfer; the oligomers produced in low yield are low in phenanthrene adducts.  相似文献

The first general preparative access to compounds of the 2,3‐diethynyl‐1,3‐butadiene (DEBD) class is reported. The synthesis involves a one‐pot, twofold Sonogashira‐type, Pd0‐catalyzed coupling of two terminal alkynes and a carbonate derivative of a 2‐butyne‐1,4‐diol. The synthesis is broad in scope and members of this structural family are kinetically stable enough to be handled using standard laboratory techniques at ambient temperature. They decompose primarily through heat‐promoted cyclodimerizations, which are impeded by alkyl substitution and accelerated by aryl or alkenyl substitution. An iterative sequence of these unprecedented Sonogashira‐type couplings generates a new type of expanded dendralene. A suitably substituted DEBD carrying two terminal alkyne groups undergoes Glaser–Eglinton cyclo‐oligomerization to produce a new class of expanded radialenes, which are chiral due to restricted rotation about their 1,3‐butadiene units. The structural features giving rise to atropisomerism in these compounds are distinct from those reported previously.  相似文献

To find novel bleaching herbicide lead compounds, a series of novel 2‐alkyl(aryl)‐4‐amino‐3‐[alkyl(alkoxy)carbonyl]‐5‐cyano‐6‐[(3‐trifluoromethyl)phenoxy]‐pyridines was designed and synthesized by the multistep reactions. N,S‐acetal 1 reacted with 2 to obtain multisubstituted pyridines 3 in the presence of zinc nitrate as the catalyst. The target compounds 5a , 5b , 5c , 5d , 5e , 5f , 5g , 5h , 5i , 5j , 5k , 5l were formed by the oxidation of 3 , followed by the substitution with 3‐(trifluoromethyl)phenol in the presence of potassium carbonate. Their structures were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, EI‐MS, and elemental analyses. The preliminary bioassays indicated that some of them displayed moderate herbicidal activity against dicotyledonous weed Brassica campestris L at the concentration of 100 mg/L.  相似文献
