1‐Arylsulfonyl‐2‐styrylsulfonylthenes — source for a new class of bis heterocycles

New and novel sulfone linked bis heterocycles_ bis pyrroles and pyrrolyl pyrazolines are prepared from 1‐arylsulfonyl‐2‐styrylsulfonylethenes by 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition methodology.     

Convenient way to 5‐substituted 4‐amino‐2,3‐dihydro‐4H‐1,2,4‐triazole‐3‐thiones

Various 4‐amino‐2,3‐dihydro‐4H‐triazoles with aromatic, aliphatic and heterocyclic substituents at the C(5) position were synthesized from corresponding esters and thiocarbohydrazide. This method allows the synthesis these heterocycles in a short time and at reduced expenses.     

Synthesis of 4‐amino‐5,6,7,8‐tetrahydrothieno[2,3‐b]quinolin‐5‐ol derivatives

This paper describes the synthesis of 4‐amino‐5,6,7,8‐tetrahydrothieno[2,3‐b]quinolin‐5‐ol derivatives ( 3a‐h ) and 4‐amino‐5,6,7,8‐tetrahydrothieno[2,3‐b]quinoline ( 8a ) in good yield by three‐step procedures starting from 2‐aminothiophene‐3‐carbonitrile and 5‐substituted cyclohexane‐1,3‐dione.     

Synthesis of 5,6,7,8‐tetrahydroindolizines via a domino‐type transformation based on the rhodium catalyzed hydroformylation of N‐(β‐methallyl)pyrroles

Variously substituted 5,6,7,8‐tetrahydroindolizines can be easily synthesized via a domino reactions sequence under rhodium catalyzed hydroformylation of N‐(β‐methallyl)pyrroles. The later are readily prepared from properly functionalized pyrroles via phase‐transfer N‐allylation in the presence of 18‐crown‐6 and potassium tert‐butoxide.     

1,3‐Dipolar cycloadditions: Investigation of cycloadditions of c‐aryl‐n‐(4‐chlorophenyl) nitrones to n‐cinnamoyl piperidines

Investigation of cycloadditions of C‐aryl‐N‐(4‐chlorophenyl)nitrones to N‐cinnamoyl piperidines was carried out. Two diastereoisomeric and one regioisomeric cycloadducts, and in some cases ring‐opened compounds were characterized by spectroscopic and X‐ray data. Molecular modelling was carried out for conformational studies.     

New one‐ pot synthesis of pyrazolo[3,4‐c]pyridazine and isoxazolo‐[5,4‐b]pyridine derivatives from potassium cyanoacetahydroxamate

The reaction of potassium cyanoacetohydroxamate 1 with ethyl 2‐aryl‐hydrazono‐3‐oxobutyrates 2 gave the unexpected pyrazolo[3,4‐c]pyridazines 7 and isoxazolo[5,4‐b]pyridines 10 via a one‐pot reaction. A mechanistic proof is suggested to account for the products.     

Facile coupling of 2‐(1‐ethylthioethenyl)pyrroles with amines: A route to 2‐(1‐aminoethenyl)pyrroles and 1‐amino‐3‐iminopyrrolizines

2‐(2‐Cyano‐1‐ethylthioethenyl)pyrroles are readily coupled (50–55°) with primary and secondary amines at the position 1 of the ethenyl moiety to eliminate ethanethiol and afford 2‐(1‐amino‐2‐cyanoethenyl)pyrroles and/or their cyclic isomers ‐ functionalized 1‐amino‐3‐iminopyrrolizines in good to high yields.     

Synthesis and characterization of a novel heterocycle: 1‐Substituted‐4‐arylazamethylene‐6‐arylpyrazolo[5,4‐d]‐1,3‐oxazine

A series of novel heterocycles 1‐aryl‐ or alkyl‐substituted‐4‐arylazamethylene‐6‐arylpyrazolo[5,4‐d]‐1,3‐oxazines were synthesized from the acylation of (5‐amino‐1‐substituted‐pyrazol‐4‐yl)‐N‐carboxamide in 63‐89% isolated yields at room temperature within 12 hours. The structure was confirmed by X‐ray crystal analysis.     

Synthesis of some novel 2‐substituted‐N‐aryl‐benzoxazole‐5‐carboxamides using cobalt dipyridine dichloride as a catalyst

An efficient synthesis of some novel 2‐substituted‐N‐aryl‐benzoxazole‐5‐carboxamides from 2‐substituted — 5‐carbomethoxy benzoxazole on treatment with different substituted anilines promoted by cobalt dipyridine dichloride as a catalyst is described. This new approach has the advantage of excellent yields (90%) and short reaction times 1‐2 h.     

Biginelli‐like three component reaction: Synthesis of some new ethyl 6‐ethoxycarbonylmethyl‐4‐aryl‐2‐oxo‐1,2,3,4‐tetrahydropyrimidine‐5‐carboxylate derivatives

In the context of our high‐throughput organic synthesis program, we have studied the reactivity of special β‐keto esters toward the Biginelli reaction. We have found that a diethyl‐3‐oxoglutarate reacts with one molecule of urea and one molecule of aldehyde under solvent‐free conditions to give a new family of 3,4‐dihydropyrimidin‐2(1H)‐ones in good yields.     

New Energetic Materials: Functionalized 1‐Ethyl‐5‐aminotetrazoles and 1‐Ethyl‐5‐nitriminotetrazoles

A new way to make a bang : Several functionalized 1‐ethyl‐5‐aminotetrazoles, 1‐ethyl‐5‐nitrimino‐tetrazoles, and copper complexes have been synthesized and their chemical and energetic properties have been comprehensively characterized. The compounds belong to all classes of “energetic materials”: explosives, propellants, and pyrotechnics.
