Microwave‐promoted oxidation of 1,3,5‐trisubstituted 4,5‐dihydro‐1H‐pyrazoles by in‐situ generation of NO+ and NO respectively from sodium nitrite and sodium nitrate in acetic acid

Microwave‐assisted aromatization of 1,3,5‐trisubstituted 4,5‐dihydro‐1H‐pyrazoles by in‐situ generation of NO⁺ and NO₂⁺ respectively from sodium nitrite and sodium nitrate in acetic acid has been carried out efficiently under mild reaction conditions in good to excellent yields.     

Efficient synthesis of 6‐aryl‐2‐chloronicotinic acids via pd catalyzed regioselective suzuki coupling of 2,6‐dichloronicotinic acid

A regioselective Suzuki coupling of 2,6‐dichloronicotinic acid with aryl boronic acids to synthesize 6‐aryl‐2‐chloronicotinic acids is described. Regioselectivity was achieved in aqueous dioxane using the routinely used catalyst Pd(PPh₃)₄.     

Syntheses of acyclic C‐glycosidic derivatives of 1,2,4‐triazoles by cycloadditions of 1‐aza‐2‐azoniaallene salts to D‐glucononitrile‐2,3,4,5,6‐pentaacetate

Reported are preparations of acyclic derivatives of 1,2,4‐triazole‐5‐glycosidies 9 by cycloadditions of 1‐aza‐2‐azonia‐allene salts 3 to the nitrile group of D‐glucononitrile‐2,3,4,5,6‐pentaacetate 5 affording triazolium salts 8 , which with aqueous sodium hydogencarbonate are hydrolyzed to 9 . Deacetylation of compounds 9 produced the C‐glycosides 10 .     

A general and versatile synthesis of 3‐phenylthio β‐lactams as lead molecules for 3‐methyl‐2‐azetidinones

Ketene‐imine cycloaddition using phosphorus oxychloride and benzenesulfonyl chloride under the described reaction conditions yielded trans 3‐phenylthio 2‐azetidinones in good yields. Desulfurization using Raney nickel and alkylation finally afforded trans 3‐methyl‐2‐azetidinones in a stereoselective manner.
