The thermodynamic and geometric parameters of M(II) macrotetracyclic chelates (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn) with the (NNNN) coordination of the donor ligand sites, formed by the complexation reactions of corresponding M(II) compounds, ethanedithioamide H2N-C(=S)-C(=S)-NH2, and acetone H3C-C(=O)-CH3 in gelatin-immobilized matrix implants have been calculated by the OPBE/TZVP density functional theory method with the use of the Gaussian 09 program package. The bond lengths and bond and torsion angles in these complexes have been reported. It has been shown that despite the fact that the MN4 chelate core in them is almost planar, the five- and six-membered chelate rings are pronouncedly non-coplanar. In the Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) complexes, these chelate rings are pairwise identical, whereas in the Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes, they are noticeably different.  相似文献

The effect of M(II) substitution on the magnitude of the negative thermal expansion (NTE) behavior within a series of Prussian Blue analogues, M(II)Pt(IV)(CN)(6) for M(II) = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, has been investigated using variable-temperature powder X-ray diffraction (100-400 K). The NTE behavior varies widely with M(II) substitution, from near zero thermal expansion in NiPt(CN)(6) (alpha = dl/l dT = -1.02(11) x 10(-)(6) K(-)(1)) up to a maximum in CdPt(CN)(6) (alpha = -10.02(11) x 10(-)(6) K(-)(1)). The trend in the magnitude of the NTE behavior, with increasing atomic number (Z) of the M(II) ion, follows the order Mn(II) > Fe(II) > Co(II) > Ni(II) < Cu(II) < Zn(II) < Cd(II), which correlates with the trends for M(II) cation size, the lattice parameter, and structural flexibility as indicated by the temperature-dependent structural refinements and Raman spectroscopy. Analysis of the temperature dependence of the average structures suggests that the differences in the thermal expansion are due principally to the different strengths of the metal-cyanide binding interaction and, accordingly, the different energies of transverse vibration of the cyanide bridge, with enhanced NTE behavior for more flexible lattices.  相似文献

Bis(3-cyano-pentane-2,4-dionato) (CNacac) metal complex, [M(CNacac)(2)], which acts as both a metal-ion-like and a ligand-like building unit, forms supramolecular structures by self-assembly. Co-grinding of the metal acetates of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) with CNacacH formed a CNacac complex in all cases: mononuclear complex was formed in the cases of Mn(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II), whereas polymeric ones were formed in the cases of Fe(II), Co(II) and Ni(II). Subsequent annealing converted the mononuclear complexes of Mn(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) to their corresponding polymers as a result of dehydration of the mononuclear complexes. The resultant Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) polymeric complexes had a common 3 D structure with high thermal stability. In the case of Cu(II), a 1 D polymer was obtained. The Mn(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) polymeric complexes returned to their original mononuclear complexes on exposure to water vapour but they reverted to the polymeric complexes by re-annealing. Co-grinding of metal chlorides with CNacacH and annealing of the mononuclear CNacac complexes prepared from solution reactions were also examined for comparison. [Mn(CNacac)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], [M(CNacac)(2)(H(2)O)] (M=Cu(II) and Zn(II)) and [M(CNacac)(2)](infinity) (M=Mn(II), Fe(II) and Zn(II)) are new compounds, which clearly indicated the power of the combined mechanochemical/annealing method for the synthesis of varied metal coordination complexes.  相似文献

We report the synthesis, crystal structures, and spectral, thermal, and magnetic properties of a family of metal–organic perovskite ABX3, [C(NH2)3][MII(HCOO)3], in which A=C(NH2)3 is guanidinium, B=M is a divalent metal ion (Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, or Zn), and X is the formate HCOO?. The compounds could be synthesized by either diffusion or hydrothermal methods from water or water‐rich solutions depending on the metal. The five members (Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, and Zn) are isostructural and crystallize in the orthorhombic space group Pnna, while the Cu member in Pna21. In the perovskite structures, the octahedrally coordinated metal ions are connected by the antianti formate bridges, thus forming the anionic NaCl‐type [M(HCOO)3]? frameworks, with the guanidinium in the nearly cubic cavities of the frameworks. The Jahn–Teller effect of Cu2+ results in a distorted anionic Cu–formate framework that can be regarded as Cu–formate chains through short basal Cu? O bonds linked by the long axial Cu? O bonds. These materials show higher thermal stability than other metal–organic perovskite series of [AmineH][M(HCOO)3] templated by the organic monoammonium cations (AmineH+) as a result of the stronger hydrogen bonding between guanidinium and the formate of the framework. A magnetic study revealed that the five magnetic members (except Zn) display spin‐canted antiferromagnetism, with a Néel temperature of 8.8 (Mn), 10.0 (Fe), 14.2 (Co), 34.2 (Ni), and 4.6 K (Cu). In addition to the general spin‐canted antiferromagnetism, the Fe compound shows two isothermal transformations (a spin‐flop and a spin‐flip to the paramagnetic phase) within 50 kOe. The Co member possesses quite a large canting angle. The Cu member is a magnetic system with low dimensional character and shows slow magnetic relaxation that probably results from the domain dynamics.  相似文献

A series of mononuclear, octahedral first-row transition metal ion complexes mer-[M(II)L0(2)](PF6)2 containing the tridentate neutral ligand 2,6-bis[1-(4-methoxyphenylimino)ethyl]pyridine (L0) and a Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), or Zn(II) ion have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography. Cyclic voltammetry and controlled potential coulometry show that each dication (except those of Cu(II) and Zn(II)) can be reversibly one-electron-oxidized, yielding the respective trications [M(III)L0(2)]3+, and in addition, they can be reversibly reduced to the corresponding monocations [ML2]+ and the neutral species [ML2]0 by two successive one-electron processes. [MnL2]PF6 and [CoL2]PF6 have been isolated and characterized by X-ray crystallography; their electronic structures are described as [Mn(III)L1(2)]PF6 and [Co(I)L0(2)]PF6 where (L1)1- represents the one-electron-reduced radical form of L0. The electronic structures of the tri-, di-, and monocations and of the neutral species have been elucidated in detail by a combination of spectroscopies: UV-vis, NMR, X-band EPR, Mossbauer, temperature-dependent magnetochemistry. It is shown that pyridine-2,6-diimine ligands are noninnocent ligands that can be coordinated to transition metal ions as neutral L0 or, alternatively, as monoanionic radical (L1)1-. All trications are of the type [M(III)L0(2)]3+, and the dications are [M(II)L0(2)]2+. The monocations are described as [Mn(III)L1(2)]+ (S = 0), [Fe(II)L0L1]+ (S = 1/2), [Co(I)L0(2)]+ (S = 1), [Ni(I)L0(2)]+ (S = 1/2), [Cu(I)L0(2)]+ (S = 0), [Zn(II)L1L0]+ (S = 1/2) where the Mn(II) and Fe(II) ions are low-spin-configurated. The neutral species are described as [Mn(II)L1(2)]0, [Fe(II)L1(2)]0, [Co(I)L0L1]0, [Ni(I)L0L1]0, and [Zn(II)L1(2)]0; their electronic ground states have not been determined.  相似文献

The complexes of transition-metal ions (M2+, where M = Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, and Hg) with 2-acetylbenzimidazolethiosemicarbazone (L) are studied under electrospray ionization (ESI) conditions. The ESI mass spectra of Fe and Co complexes showed the complex ions corresponding to [M+2L-2H]+, and those of Ni and Zn complexes showed [M+2L-H]+ ions, wherein the metal/ligand ratio is 1:2 and the oxidation state of the central metal ion is +3 in the case of Fe and Co and +2 in the case of Ni and Zn. The Cd and Cu complexes showed preferentially 1:1 complex ions, i.e., [M+L-H]+ or [M+L+Cl]+, whereas Hg formed both 1:1 and 1:2 complex ions. During formation of the above complex ions one or two ligands are deprotonated after keto-enol tautomerism, depending on the nature and oxidation state of central metal ion. The structures and coordination numbers of the metal ions in the complex ions were studied by their collision-induced dissociation spectra and ion-molecule reactions with acetonitrile or propylamine in the collision cell. Based on these results it is concluded that Fe, Co, Ni and Zn form stable octahedral complexes, whereas tetrahedral or square planar complexes are formed preferentially for other metals. In addition, the Cu complex showed a [2L+2Cu-3H]+ ion with a Cu-Cu bond.  相似文献

Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and UO(2)(II) complexes with the ligand 2-tert-butylaminomethylpyridine-6-carboxylic acid methylester (HL(2)) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic moment, thermal analysis and spectral data. 1:1 M:HL(2) complexes, with the general formula [M(HL(2))X(2)].nH(2)O (where M = Co(II) (X = Cl, n = 0), Ni(II) (X = Cl, n = 3), Cu(II) (grey colour, X = AcO, n = 1), Cu(II) (yellow colour, X = Cl, n = 0) and Zn(II) (X = Br, n = 0). In addition, the Fe(III) and UO(2)(II) complexes of the type 1:2 M:HL(2) and with the formulae [Fe(L(2))(2)]Cl and [UO(2)(HL(2))(2)](NO(3))(2) are prepared. From the IR data, it is seen that HL(2) ligand behaves as a terdentate ligand coordinated to the metal ions via the pyridyl N, carboxylate O and protonated NH group; except the Fe(III) complex, it coordinates via the deprotonated NH group. This is supported by the molar conductance data, which show that all the complexes are non-electrolytes, while the Fe(III) and UO(2)(II) complexes are 1:1 electrolytes. IR and H1-NMR spectral studies suggest a similar behaviour of the Zn(II) complex in solid and solution states. From the solid reflectance spectral data and magnetic moment measurements, the complexes have a trigonal bipyramidal (Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes) and octahedral (Fe(III), UO(2)(II) complexes) geometrical structures. The thermal behaviour of the complexes is studied and the different dynamic parameters are calculated applying Coats-Redfern equation.  相似文献

Reaction of M(NO3)2.xH2O (M = Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn) with 3-diphenylamino-4-hydroxycyclobut-3-ene-1,2-dione (diphenylaminosquarate) produces the neutral polymeric species (M[mu-(C6H5)2NC4O3]2[H2O]2)n [M = Mn (1), Cu (2)]; (M[mu-(C6H5)2NC4O3][(C6H5)2NC4O3][H2O]3)n [M = Co (3), Zn (4)]; and in the case of Ni, the salt [Ni(H2O)6][(C6H5)2NC4O3]2.2H2O (5). Complexes 1 and 2 are isomorphous and crystallize in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with, for 1, a = 13.138(1) A, b = 10.900(2) A, c = 9.269(2) A, beta = 96.07(1) degrees, and Z = 2. Complexes 3 and 4 are also isomorphous and crystallize in the space group P2(1)/c with, for 3, a = 13.211(1) A, b = 11.038(1) A, c = 18.748(1) A, beta = 97.75(1) degrees, and Z = 4. The nickel salt, 5, crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with a = 6.181(1) A, b = 9.417(1) A, c = 15.486(1) A, alpha = 101.37(1) degrees, beta = 95.51(1) degrees, gamma = 107.57(1) degrees, and Z = 1. In 1 and 2, the metal coordination is octahedral, comprising four mu-1,3-bridging diphenylaminosquarate ligands and two trans aqua ligands. In 3 and 4, the metal coordination is again octahedral, comprising two mu-1,3-bridging and one pendant diphenylaminosquarate ligands, the octahedron being completed by three aqua ligands in a meridional configuration. In 5, the hexaaquanickel(II) ion is linked by O-H...O hydrogen bonds to a pair of diphenylaminosquarate anions. These anion-cation units are linked via included water molecules to form hydrogen-bonded chains. The diphenylaminosquarate ligands in the polymeric complexes 1-4 display multiple-bond localization, a feature which is absent in 5. Complex 1 exhibits weak antiferromagnetic coupling, whereas 2 shows no significant magnetic interactions.  相似文献

A new pentadentate ligand, alpha,alpha,alpha',alpha'-tetra(pyrazolyl)lutidine, pz 4lut, has been prepared by a CoCl 2-catalyzed rearrangement reaction between 2,6-pyridinedicarboxaldehyde and dipyrazolylthione. The coordination chemistry with some divalent first-row transition metal (Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn) chlorides has been explored. The electronic properties indicate that the new kappa (5)N ligand is a slightly stronger-field donor to Ni (2+) and Co (2+) than a related pentadentate ligand with five pyridyl donors presumably because of greater interaction between the metal and axial pyridyl.  相似文献

We report the synthesis, crystal structures, thermal and magnetic characterizations of a family of metal‐organic frameworks adopting the niccolite (NiAs) structure, [dmenH22+][M2(HCOO)62−] (dmen=N,N′‐dimethylethylenediamine; M=divalent Mn, 1Mn ; Fe, 2Fe ; Co, 3Co ; Ni, 4Ni ; Cu, 5Cu ; and Zn, 6Zn ). The compounds could be synthesized by either a diffusion method or directly mixing reactants in methanol or methanol–water mixed solvents. The five members, 1Mn , 2Fe , 3Co , 4Ni , and 6Zn are isostructural and crystallize in the trigonal space group P 1c, while 5Cu crystallizes in C2/c. In the structures, the octahedrally coordinated metal ions are connected by anti–anti formate bridges, thus forming the anionic NiAs‐type frameworks of [M2(HCOO)62−], with dmenH22+ located in the cavities of the frameworks. Owing to the Jahn–Teller effect of the Cu2+ ion, the 3D framework of 5Cu consists of zigzag Cu‐formate chains with Cu OCHO Cu connections through short basal Cu O bonds, further linked by the long axial Cu O bonds. 6Zn exhibits a phase transition probably as a result of the order–disorder transition of the dmenH22+ cation around 300 K, confirmed by differential scanning calorimetry and single crystal X‐ray diffraction patterns under different temperatures. Magnetic investigation reveals that the four magnetic members, 1Mn , 2Fe , 3Co , and 4Ni , display spin‐canted antiferromagnetism, with a Néel temperature of 8.6 K, 19.8 K, 16.4 K, and 33.7 K, respectively. The Mn, Fe, and Ni members show spin‐flop transitions below 50 kOe. 2Fe possesses a large hysteresis loop with a large coercive field of 10.8 kOe. The Cu member, 5Cu , shows overall antiferromagnetism (both inter‐ and intra‐chains) with low‐dimensional characteristics.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss the structural chemistry of (PPh(4))(2)M(WS(4))(2) (M = Co, Ni, Zn) materials. For M = Ni we and others have been unable to grow single crystals and we report the structure determination from powder diffraction. The material is triclinic (P1, a = 9.3730(2), b = 12.4951(3), c = 12.5189(3) A, alpha = 65.814(1), beta = 83.751(1), gamma = 69.571(1) degrees at T = 293 K). It contains square-planar coordination around Ni. For M = Zn we have isolated two polymorphs. We describe new analysis of the complex superstructure and diffuse scattering observed in the tetragonal polymorph (I4, a = 18.723(4), c = 13.563(4) A at T = 120 K) and the bulk preparation of a monoclinic (P2(1)/c, a = 18.6397(4), b = 15.3693(5), c = 18.9822(5) A, beta = 109.239(2) degrees at T = 293 K) polymorph isostructural with the M = Co material.  相似文献

Binuclear Cp(2)M(2)(μ-C(8)H(8)) derivatives have been synthesized for M = V, Cr, Co, and Ni and have now been studied theoretically for the entire first row of transition metals from Ti to Ni. The early transition metal derivatives Cp(2)M(2)(μ-C(8)H(8)) (M = Ti, V, Cr. Mn) are predicted to form low-energy cis-Cp(2)M(2)(μ-C(8)H(8)) structures with a folded C(8)H(8) ring (dihedral angle ~130°) and short metal-metal distances suggesting multiple bonding. These predicted structures are close to the experimental structures for M = V, Cr with V≡V and Cr≡Cr bond lengths of ~2.48 and ~2.36 ?, respectively. The middle to late transition metals form trans-Cp(2)M(2)(μ-C(8)H(8)) structures (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni) with a twisted μ-C(8)H(8) ring and no metal-metal bonding. The hapticity of the central μ-C(8)H(8) ring in such structures ranges from five for Mn and Fe to four for Co and three for Ni and thus depend on the electronic requirements of the central metal atom. This leads to the favored 18-electron configuration for both metal atoms in the singlet Fe, Co, and Ni structures but only 17-electron metal configurations in the triplet Mn structure. In addition, the late transition metals form trans-Cp(2)M(2)(μ-C(8)H(8)) structures (M = Fe, Co, Ni), with the tub conformation of the μ-C(8)H(8) ring functioning as a tetrahapto (M = Fe, Co) or trihapto (M = Ni) ligand to each CpM group. A μ-C(8)H(8) ring in the tub conformation also bonds to two CpFe units as a bis(tetrahapto) ligand in both singlet and triplet cis-Cp(2)Fe(2)(μ-C(8)H(8)) structures.  相似文献

In an effort to better understand the antiproliferative effects of the tridentate hydrazone chelators di-2-pyridyl ketone isonicotinoyl hydrazone (HPKIH) and di-2-pyridyl ketone benzoyl hydrazone (HPKBH), we report the coordination chemistry of these ligands with the divalent metal ions, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn. These complexes are compared with their Fe(II) analogues which were reported previously. The crystal structures of Co(PKIH)(2), Ni(PKIH)(2), Cu(PKIH)(2), Mn(PKBH)(2), Ni(PKBH)(2), Cu(PKBH)(2), and Zn(PKBH)(2) are reported where similar bis-tridenate coordination modes of the ligands are defined. In pure DMF, all complexes except the Zn(II) compounds exhibit metal-centered M(III/II) (Mn, Fe, Co, Ni) or M(II/I) (Cu) redox processes. All complexes show ligand-centered reductions at low potential. Electrochemistry in a mixed water/DMF solvent only elicited metal-centered responses from the Co and Fe complexes. Remarkably, all complexes show antiproliferative activity against the SK-N-MC neuroepithelioma cell line similar to (HPKIH) or significantly greater than that of the (HPKBH) ligand which suggests a mechanism that does not only involve the redox activity of these complexes. In fact, we suggest that the complexes act as lipophilic transport shuttles that allow entrance to the cell and enable the delivery of both the ligand and metal which act in concert to inhibit proliferation.  相似文献

Interaction of the lacunary [alpha-XW(9)O(33)](9-) (X = As(III), Sb(III)) with Fe(3+) ions in acidic, aqueous medium leads to the formation of dimeric polyoxoanions, [Fe(4)(H(2)O)(10)(beta-XW(9)O(33))(2)](6-) (X = As(III), Sb(III)) in high yield. X-ray single-crystal analyses were carried out on Na(6)[Fe(4)(H(2)O)(10)(beta-AsW(9)O(33))(2)] x 32H(2)O, which crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group C2/m, with a = 20.2493(18) A, b = 15.2678(13) A, c = 16.0689(14) A, beta = 95.766(2) degrees, and Z = 2; Na(6)[Fe(4)(H(2)O)(10)(beta-SbW(9)O(33))(2)] x 32H(2)O is isomorphous with a = 20.1542(18) A, b = 15.2204(13) A, c = 16.1469(14) A, and beta = 95.795(2) degrees. The selenium and tellurium analogues are also reported, [Fe(4)(H(2)O)(10)(beta-XW(9)O(33))(2)](4-) (X = Se(IV), Te(IV)). They are synthesized from sodium tungstate and a source of the heteroatom as precursors. X-ray single-crystal analysis was carried out on Cs(4)[Fe(4)(H(2)O)(10)(beta-SeW(9)O(33))(2)] x 21H(2)O, which crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P macro 1, with a = 12.6648(10) A, b = 12.8247(10) A, c = 16.1588(13) A, alpha = 75.6540(10) degrees, beta = 87.9550(10) degrees, gamma = 64.3610(10) gamma, and Z = 1. All title polyanions consist of two (beta-XW(9)O(33)) units joined by a central pair and a peripheral pair of Fe(3+) ions leading to a structure with idealized C(2h) symmetry. It was also possible to synthesize the Cr(III) derivatives [Cr(4)(H(2)O)(10)(beta-XW(9)O(33))(2)](6-) (X = As(III), Sb(III)), the tungstoselenates(IV) [M(4)(H(2)O)(10)(beta-SeW(9)O(33))(2)]((16)(-)(4n)-) (M(n+) = Cr(3+), Mn(2+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Zn(2+), Cd(2+), and Hg(2+)), and the tungstotellurates(IV) [M(4)(H(2)O)(10)(beta-TeW(9)O(33))(2)]((16-4n)-) (M(n+) = Cr(3+), Mn(2+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+), Cd(2+), and Hg(2+)), as determined by FTIR. The electrochemical properties of the iron-containing species were also studied. Cyclic voltammetry and controlled potential coulometry aided in distinguishing between Fe(3+) and W(6+) waves. By variation of pH and scan rate, it was possible to observe the stepwise reduction of the Fe(3+) centers.  相似文献

A series of pseudo-octahedral metal (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn) complexes 4 of a new redox-active ligand, 2,4,6,8-tetra(tert-butyl)-9-hydroxyphenoxazin-1-one 3, have been synthesized, and their molecular structures determined with help of X-ray crystallography. The effective magnetic moments of complexes 4 (M = Mn, Fe, Co, and Ni) measured in the solid state and toluene solution point to the stabilization of their high-spin electronic ground states. Detailed information on the electronic structure of the complexes and their redox-isomeric forms has been obtained using density functional theory (DFT) B3LYP*/6-311++G(d,p) calculations. The energy disfavored low-spin structures of manganese, iron, and cobalt complexes have been located, and based on the computed geometries and distribution of spin densities identified as Mn(IV)[(Cat-N-SQ)](2), Fe(II)[Cat-N-BQ)](2), and Co(II)[Cat-N-BQ)](2) compounds, respectively. It has been shown that stabilization of the high-spin structures of complexes 4 (M = Mn, Fe, Co) is caused by the rigidity of the molecular framework of ligands 3 that sterically inhibits interconversions between the redox-isomeric forms of the complexes. The calculations performed on complex 4 (M = Co) predict that a suitable structural modification that might provide for stabilization of the low-spin electromeric forms and create conditions for the valence tautomeric rearrangement via stabilization of the low-spin electromer and narrowing energy gap between the low-spin ground state tautomer and the minimal energy crossing point on the intersection of the potential energy surfaces of the interconverting structures consists in the replacement of an oxygen in the oxazine ring by a bulkier sulfur atom.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Pd(II) and UO2(II) chelates of 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthalenol (TAN) were reported. The dissociation constants of the ligand and the stability constants of the metal complexes were calculated pH-metrically at 25 degrees C and 0.1 M ionic strength. The solid complexes were characterized by elemental and thermal analyses, molar conductance, IR, magnetic and diffuse reflectance spectra. The complexes were found to have the formulae [M(L)2] for M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II); [M(L)X].nH2O for M = Cu(II) (X = AcO, n = 3), Pd(II) (X = Cl, n = 0) and UO2(II) (X = NO3, n = 0), and [Fe(L)Cl2(H2O)].2H2O. The molar conductance data reveal that the chelates are non-electrolytes. IR spectra show that the ligand is coordinated to the metal ions in a terdentate manner with ONN donor sites of the naphthyl OH, azo N and thiazole N. An octahedral structure is proposed for Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and UO2(II) complexes and a square planar structure for Cu(II) and Pd(II) complexes. The thermal behaviour of these chelates shows that water molecules (coordinated and hydrated) and anions are removed in two successive steps followed immediately by decomposition of the ligand molecule in the subsequent steps. The relative thermal stability of the chelates is evaluated. The final decomposition products are found to be the corresponding metal oxides. The thermodynamic activation parameters, such as E*, delta H*, delta S* and delta G* are calculated from the TG curves.  相似文献

Density functional theory calculations have been carried out to investigate the electronic structures and the alpha/beta relative stability of Keggin-typed [XW(12)O(40)]n- anions with transition metal as heteroatom X (X = Cr(VI), V(V), Ti(IV), Fe(III), Co(III), Ni(III), Co(II) and Zn(II)). Nice agreement in geometries between computation and experiment has been obtained, and the higher stability of the alpha isomer over the beta one has been confirmed. Structural parameter analysis reveals that the {M(3)O(13)} triads in both alpha and beta isomers contract considerably with the increase of the negative anionic charge, while the overall size of both isomers shrinks only slightly. Fragment molecular orbital analysis shows that except alpha/beta-[TiW(12)O(40)]4-, the electronic structures of Keggin anions can be described by the insertion of the e and/or t2 orbital of XO4n- into the frontier orbitals of W(12)O(36) cage, and this leads to the specific redox property, which is different from that of the Keggin anions with main-group elements as heteroatoms. Energy decomposition analysis shows that the enhanced intrinsic stability of the alpha isomer in Td arrangement of W(12)O(36) shell and the larger deformation of the alpha over the beta isomer are two dominating factors and contribute oppositely to the alpha/beta relative stability.  相似文献

The non-symmetric imide ligand Hpypzca (N-(2-pyrazylcarbonyl)-2-pyridinecarboxamide) has been deliberately synthesised and used to produce nine first row transition metal complexes: [M(II)(pypzca)(2)], M = Zn, Cu, Ni, Co, Fe; [M(III)(pypzca)(2)]Y, M = Co and Y = BF(4), M = Fe and Y = ClO(4); [Cu(II)(pypzca)(H(2)O)(2)]BF(4), [Mn(II)(pypzca)(Cl)(2)]HNEt(3). These are the first deliberately prepared complexes of a non-symmetric imide ligand. X-ray crystal structures of [Cu(II)(pypzca)(2)]·H(2)O, [Co(II)(pypzca)(2)], [Co(III)(pypzca)(2)]BF(4), [Cu(II)(pypzca)(H(2)O)(2)]BF(4)·H(2)O and [Mn(II)(pypzca)Cl(2)]HNEt(3) show that each of the (pypzca)(-) ligands binds in a meridional fashion via the N(3) donors. In the first three complexes, two such ligands are bound such that the 'spare' pyrazine nitrogen atoms are positioned approximately orthogonally to one another and also to the imide oxygen atoms. In MeCN the [M(II/III)(pypzca)(2)](0/+) complexes, where M = Ni, Co or Fe, exhibit one reversible metal based M(II/III) process and two distinct, quasi-reversible ligand based reduction processes, the latter also observed for M(II) = Zn. [Mn(II)(pypzca)Cl(2)]HNEt(3) displays a quasi-reversible oxidation process in MeCN, along with several irreversible processes. Both copper(II) complexes show only irreversible processes. Variable temperature magnetic measurements show that [Fe(III)(pypzca)(2)]ClO(4) undergoes a gradual spin crossover from partially high spin at 298 K (3.00 BM) to fully low spin at 2 K (1.96 BM), and that [Co(II)(pypzca)(2)] remains high spin from 298 to 4 K. All of the complexes are weakly coloured, other than [Fe(II)(pypzca)(2)] which is dark purple and absorbs strongly in the visible region.  相似文献

A detailed understanding of the electronic structures of transition metal bis(dithiolene) centers is important in the context of their interesting redox, magnetic, and optical properties. The electronic structures of the series [M(mnt)2]n- (M = Fe - Zn; mnt = 1,2-S2C2(CN)2; n = 1, 2) were examined by a combination of photodetachment photoelectron spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations, providing insights into changes in electronic structure with variation of the metal center and with oxidation. Significant changes were observed for the dianions [M(mnt)2]2- due to stabilization of the metal 3d levels from Fe to Zn and the transition from square-planar to tetrahedral coordination about the metal center (Fe-Ni, D(2h) --> Cu D2 --> Zn, D(2d). Changes with oxidation from [M(mnt)2]2- to [M(mnt)2]1- were largely dependent on the nature of the redox-active orbital in the couple [M(mnt)2](2-/1-). In particular, the first detachment feature for [Fe(mnt)2]2- originated from a metal-based orbital (Fe(II) --> Fe(III)) while that for [Fe(mnt)2]1- originated from a ligand-based orbital, a consequence of stabilization of Fe 3d levels in the latter. In contrast, the first detachment feature for both of [Ni(mnt)2]2- and [Ni(mnt)2]1- originated from the same ligand-based orbital in both cases, a result of occupied Ni 3d levels being stabilized relative those of Fe 3d and occurring below the highest energy occupied ligand-based orbital for both of [Ni(mnt)2]2- and [Ni(mnt)2]1- . The combined data illustrate the subtle interplay between metal- and ligand-based redox chemistry in these species and demonstrate changes in their electronic structures with variation of metal center, oxidation, and coordination geometry.  相似文献
