This paper describes a technique aimed at measuring particle size by light scattering from gaussian laser beams. The uncertainties in illumination due to the beam shape are avoided by determination of the direction and velocity. The method, which we arbitrarily called the Two Beam System (TBS), uses a simple birefringent prism to separate the incident laser beam into two orthogonally polarised overlapping parallel beams. The relative delay and amplitudes of the intensities scattered out of the orthogonal polarisations are indicative of the particle direction and velocity. Having obtained the direction of travel of the particle, its size is then obtained from the scattered intensity using Mie theory.  相似文献

基于菲涅耳衍射积分理论和巴比涅原理,推导出像散Bessel光束经圆形障碍物后的光强分布一般表达式.数值模拟了像散Bessel光束经圆形障碍物遮挡后光场的自重建过程,并设计相关实验进行验证,实验结果与理论模拟基本符合.结果表明:零阶像散Bessel光束经过轴上和离轴障碍物后均会发生光束重建现象.随着传输距离的增加,像散Bessel光束的外轮廓尺寸变大、中心光点阵列数增多,逐渐重建出不同于障碍物前的完整光束.并且观察到光束在重建过程中横向和纵向的重建速度并不一致,存在一定的速度差.利用螺旋相位板产生高阶像散Bessel光束,验证了高阶像散Bessel光束经障碍物遮挡后同样具有自重建特性.研究结果对像散Bessel光束在多层面粒子操纵方面的应用具有参考价值.  相似文献

提出外腔延时反馈半导体激光器混沌偏振可调控制方法,分别建立了垂直正交偏振延时双反馈、同偏振面方向延时双反馈以及任意可调偏振延时双反馈激光动力学物理模型. 通过调节激光器外腔光路中的平面镜和光衰减器可控制一平面偏振反馈光的延时时间及光反馈量,或调节一偏振反馈光的偏振面到另一个偏振反馈光的偏振面方向上或者到任意偏振方向都可进行激光混沌控制. 数值结果证明该方法可以控制激光混沌到单周期态、多周期态等,还发现该控制可使激光器同时呈现偏振周期振荡、偏振反周期振荡、稳定三种动力学行为等. 关键词: 混沌 控制 激光器 偏振  相似文献

The results of experiments on observation of rotation of the plane of polarization of coherent laser radiation with wavelength λ = 0.632991 μm after propagation through a rotating optical disk made of TF3 glass with refractive index n = 1.71250 are analyzed. The experiments were conducted at angle of ray incidence on the flat disk surface ?0 = 60°, and the rotational speed of the disk was varied from 0 to 200 Hz in both directions. The results indicate that rotation of optically transparent, homogeneous, and isotropic dielectric causes rotation of linear polarization of the monochromatic electromagnetic plane wave by several tens of degrees. At a rotational speed of 3 Hz, the rotation of polarization reached Δφ = 70° for the vertical component of laser output polarization. The dependences of the angle of rotation of polarization and the degree of polarization of the rays on rotational speed are nonlinear and are attributed to the appearance of substantial anisotropic properties in a rotating dielectric.  相似文献

后向散射光特性与多普勒信号的质量密切相关。为了设计高性能的激光多普勒测速仪,运用散斑理论详细分析了激光多普勒信号的强度与散射光斑大小的关系,结合泛函理论给出了计算多普勒电流的散斑表达式,并通过实验的方法研究了回波信号的偏振特性及其强度分布。理论分析与实验结果表明,激光多普勒信号的强度与接收器件光敏面的直径成正比,与光斑的直径成反比;选用光斑较小的圆偏振激光束,并用光敏面尺寸较小的探测器在镜面反射方向上接收信号光,可以大大提高多普勒信号的信噪比,增强系统的探测能力,为提高系统的测量精度创造有利的条件。  相似文献

通过分析光纤出射端面的光强分布,研究了光纤传输过程中激光二极管出射光束进入光纤时的指向角对出射端面光场分布的影响.提出一种影响光纤输出端光场的新因素,对数值孔径和光纤芯径两个影响因素进行了补充.在光纤传输过程中,将激光二极管出射的光束等效为大量光线,在二极管输出光的位置以及空间分布确定的情况下,使用光线追迹方法依次分析了单束和多束光的指向角以及光纤长度对出射面光强分布的影响.结果显示:单束入射光指向角的偏差会引起光纤输出端面光强极值位置的偏移,多束的情况可以导致光纤输出端光强呈现明显的环状分布,得出了入射光束指向角的偏差是影响光纤出射面光强分布和峰值位置的重要因素的结论,而光纤长度的变化对上述分布状况同样存在影响.  相似文献

Dual-frequency optical pumping for spin-polarizing a lithium atomic beam   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A lithium-6 atomic beam is spin-polarized by means of optical pumping with a single-mode dye laser operating on the resonance transition. Simultaneous pumping of both hyperfine substates is achieved by frequency-splitting the laser light with an acousto-optic modulator. A polarization dependent signal, obtained by probing the optical activity of the beam with linearly polarized light, is utilized in a microprocessor-controlled laser stabilization scheme. The polarization is analyzed with a sextupole magnet and its overall value is 0.70 for an intensity of 1×1014 atms s−1. By reversing the sense of circular polarization of the pumping light the atomic beam polarization is easily reversed in direction.  相似文献

The rotational motions of the optically trapped microscopic particles by the vortex femtosecond laser beam are investigated in this paper.Black particles can be trapped and rotated by a vortex femtosecond laser beam very effectively because the vortex beam carries orbital angular momentum due to the helical wave-front structure in assoication with the central phase singularity.Trapped black particles rotate in the vortex beam due to the absorption of the angular momentum transferred from the vortex beam.The rotating directions of the trapped particles can be modulated by reversing the topological charge of the optical vortex in the vortex femtosecond beam.And the rotating speeds of the trapped microscopic particles greatly depend on the topological charges of the vortex tweezer and the used pulse energies.  相似文献

Optical trapping and rotating of suspended micro-sized rubrene particles were performed using optical tweezers with circularly polarized light. The experimental results show that the rotation speed of the rubrene particles is proportional to the laser power, and the orientation of the rubrene particles can be controlled by the optical tweezers with linearly polarized light. Interestingly, by combining with the rubrene particle, the Escherichia coli (E. coli) can be rotated and oriented by optical tweezers. However, the rotating and orientating are mainly determined by the characteristics of rubrene particles. Our experiment provides a simple and convenient way to orient biological particles even if they are not sensitive to the polarization of the laser beam. Moreover, the rubrene can emit strong fluorescence when excited by the laser at the wavelength of 532 nm, and which can be potential applied to manipulate other particles with the fluorescence characteristics.  相似文献

为了满足机械转镜扫描要求(转镜转速每分钟不少于3万转)及光束与水平信号的行场同步要求,提出采用面阵空间光调制器及多像素并行扫描方式。采用“面阵空间光调制器”对激光束进行选通和光强调制,使覆盖多像素的激光束在高速扫过面阵空间光调制器时,光强按视频图像的强弱进行调制,从而形成激光视频图像。由于采用了多像素并行扫描、新型二维扫描转镜和积分器光路,扫描速度大大降低,由每分钟几万转降低到3000转,解决了扫描式激光显示的技术瓶颈和激光干涉条纹问题,获得了很好的显示效果。  相似文献

A polarization holographic grating, which integrates the functions of a grating and a wave plate and is called a diffractive wave plate, is recorded by two beams(left and right circularly polarized) of a 532 nm laser in an azo polymer with a liquid-crystal structure. The polarization conversion characteristics of the diffractive wave plates are investigated with a detecting light of 650 nm by metering the polarization state of first-order diffracted light.It is confirmed that the diffractive wave plates convert the incident linear polarization into circular polarization for a linearly polarized probe laser and reverse the sense of rotation of the circular polarization when the detecting light is circularly polarized light.  相似文献

针对激光驾束制导系统光束能量调制方式的原理缺陷,讨论了用铌酸锂晶体的电光效应实现空间偏振编码的原理。对铌酸锂晶体的电光效应进行了理论分析,在此基础上设计了基于普科尔效应的空间偏振编码调制器。确定了X轴方向加电场的最佳运用方式,使得经过编码器后的线偏振光具有理想的偏振态梯度分布。对接收数据处理方式进行了讨论,得到了差和比方式对旋转不敏感的结论。在实验室中用可见光进行了近场实验,获得了从最上方近似右旋圆偏振光到中间的线偏振光再到最下方的左旋圆偏振光的偏振态分布。实验曲线表明获得了与理论计算基本一致的结果。  相似文献

A liquid crystal polarization rotator (LCPR) to reduce the intermodulation spatial-bandwidth in offset-reference holography is proposed. The LCPR is divided into two portions which rotate the direction of polarization of the incident light beam differently. The rotation angle is set so that the direction of polarization of the transmitted light beams make an angle 90° with each other, so that object beams through the two portions do not interfere with each other. This rotator reduces the spatial frequency range of hologram intermodulation noise to 1/2 that of the conventional hologram recording method.  相似文献

Micrometer-sized rod-like non-birefringent transparent particles trapped by an astigmatic laser beam having elliptical intensity profile spontaneously rotate until they become aligned with the major axis of the beam cross-section. The observed rotation confirms a simple picture based on orbital angular momentum transfer from the light beam to the trapped particle. A model which regards the particle as a thin cylindrical lens with effective focal lengths f1 and f2 has allowed to calculate the applied optical torque and, hence, the time law governing the particle alignment. The time evolution of the particle alignment is studied for different rod-like particles by analysing the sequence of frames recorded by a CCD camera. The time evolution of the angle formed between the main axes of the body and the laser shape results in good agreement with the theory for bodies fully immersed in the spot size of the laser. Discrepancies observed for rod-like particles longer than the minor elliptical axis of the beam cross-section, were removed by developing a more general model taking into account the partial overlapping between the body and the laser profile.  相似文献

A polarimeter for measuring complete state of polarization of light in a wide spectral range is investigated. The light beam to be analyzed propagates through a continuously rotating first-phase plate; then through a continuously rotating second-phase plate; and, passing through a stationary linear polarizer, is incident on a detector. The time dependence of the intensity of the light beam that propagated though the polarizer is recorded. Fourier analysis of the periodic time dependence of the intensity yields the state of polarization of the light, which is characterized by four Stokes parameters. It is shown that the relation between the rotational velocities of the two phase plates and their thicknesses can be chosen such that the working range of the polarimeter would be limited only by the transparency range of the birefringent material of the phase plates, the working range of the linear polarizer, and that of the detector.  相似文献

针对惯性约束聚变装置对激光集束辐照均匀性的需求,提出了一种基于涡旋光束的超快速角向匀滑方案,即利用螺旋相位板使2×2集束中的两子束由超高斯光束变换为涡旋光束,而其余两子束不变,进而通过对子束偏振态和中心波长的调控,使集束中的涡旋光束和超高斯光束在靶面两两相干叠加.相干叠加后的焦斑以皮秒量级为周期超快速旋转,从而在极短时间内快速抹平焦斑强度调制,改善靶面辐照均匀性.通过建立基于螺旋相位板的激光超快速角向集束匀滑方案的物理模型,分析了其角向匀滑特性,并与光谱角色散技术和径向匀滑技术进行了比较分析.结果表明,这一新型激光集束匀滑方案能实现对焦斑的超快速角向匀滑,且能在数皮秒时间内达到最佳辐照均匀性.  相似文献

为满足波面剪切干涉和双细光束干涉曲反射表面非接触精密测量、台阶高度测量以及其他平行分光需要,利用双折射晶体特性,研究并设计了一种单一平板激光平行分束器。当一束激光入射到双折射晶体时,它的2个相互正交的的偏振分量将有不同的折射特性,因此特定晶轴方向和厚度的晶体平行平板可以实现入射光束的平行分束。描述了双折射晶体平行平板的分束原理,推导了分束距离与光轴方向、晶体厚度、入射角的关系,分析了分束距离随主要设计参数的变化规律。采用设计的晶体激光分束器进行了实验测试,验证了分析与实测结果的一致性。  相似文献
