Commutators of BMO functions and singular integral operators with non-smooth kernels on spaces of Homogeneous type of finite measure

Let X be a space of homogeneous type with finite measure. Let T be a singular integral operator which is bounded on Lp (X), 1 ＜ p ＜∞. We give a sufficient condition on the kernel k(x,y) of Tso that when a function b ∈ BMO (X) ,the commutator [b, T] (f) = T (b f) - bT (f) is aounded on spaces Lp for all p, 1 ＜ p ＜∞.     

ASYMPTOTICALLY ISOMETRIC COPIES OF lp (1≤p＜∞) AND c0 IN BANACH SPACES

Let X be a Banach space. If there exists a quotient space of X which is asymptotically isometric to l1, then X contains complemented asymptotically isometric copies of l1. Every infinite dimensional closed subspace of l1 contains a complemented subspace of l1 which is asymptotically isometric to l1. Let X be a separable Banach space such that X* contains asymptotically isometric copies of lp (1 ＜ p ＜∞). Then there exists a quotient space of X which is asymptotically isometric to lq (1/p 1/q=1). Complementedasymptotically isometric copies of c0 in K(X, Y) and W(X, Y) are discussed. Let X be a Gelfand-Phillips space. If X contains asymptotically isometric copies of c0, it has to contain complemented asymptotically isometric copies of c0.     

SOME REMARKS ABOUT THE R-BOUNDEDNESS

Let X,Y be UMD-spaces that have property (α), 1< p< ∞ and let M be anR-bounded subset in L(X, Y). It is shown that {T(M_k)_(k∈z): M_k, k(M_(k l)-M_k) ∈M for k∈Z} is an R-bounded subset of L(L~p (0,2π; X), L~p(0,2π; Y)), where T(M_m)_(k∈zdenotes the L~p-multiplier given by the sequence (M_k)_(k∈z), This generalizes a resultof Venni [10]. The author uses this result to study the strongly L~p-well-posedness ofevolution equations with periodic boundary condition. Analogous results for operator-valued L~p-multipliers on R are also given.

K(a)hler Manifolds with Almost Non-negative Ricci Curvature

Compact K(a)hler manifolds with semi-positive Ricci curvature have been investigated by various authors. From Peternell's work, if M is a compact K(a)hler n-manifold with semi-positive Ricci curvature and finite fundamental group, then the universal cover has a decomposition (M) ≌ X1 × … × Xm, where Xj is a Calabi-Yau manifold, or a hyperK(a)hler manifold, or Xj satisfies Ho(Xj,Ωp) = 0. The purpose of this paper is to generalize this theorem to almost non-negative Ricci curvature K(a)hler manifolds by using the Gromov-Hausdorff convergence. Let M be a compact complex n-manifold with non-vanishing Euler number. If for any ε ＞ 0, there exists a K(a)hler structure (Je,ge) on M such that the volume Volge(M) ＜ V, the sectional curvature |K(gε)| ＜ Λ2, and the Ricci-tensor Ric(gε)＞ -εgε, where ∨ and Λ are two constants independent of ε. Then the fundamental group of M is finite, and M is diffeomorphic to a complex manifold X such that the universal covering of X has a decomposition, (X) ≌ X1 × … × Xs, where Xi is a Calabi-Yau manifold, or a hyperK(a)hler manifold, or Xi satisfies Ho(Xi, Ωp) = {0}, p ＞ 0.
