The gemini surfactant N-N′bis(dimethyldodecyl)-1,4-butanediammonium dibromide (12-4-12) was synthesized and its critical micelle concentrations (CMCs) and degree of counterion dissociation (α) in aqueous solutions in the presence of alkanols viz ethanol, isomeric butyl alcohols, 1-hexanol and alkanediols (ethanediol, 1,4-butanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, 2,5-hexanediol 1,6-hexanediol, and 1,8-octanediol) determined from electrical conductivity are reported. While ethanol, ethanediol, 1,4-butanediol showed an increase in CMC, a decrease was seen for isomeric butyl alcohols, 1-hexanol, isomeric hexanediols and 1,8-octanediol. For butyl alcohols the CMC decrease showed the trend 1° >2° > 3°; in C6 diols, 1,2-hexanediol exerted more decrease as compared to 2,5-hexanediol and 1,6-hexanediol.The results are explained on the basis of the structure and hydrophobicity of alcohols that determine their effect as cosolvent or cosurfactant (partitioning in micelles). Two-dimensional nuclear overhauser enhancement spectroscopy (2D-NOESY) was used to examine the location for 1-butanol and 1,4-butanediol in micellar systems as representative additives from alkanols and alkanediols showing CMC decreasing and increasing effect respectively.  相似文献

Adsorption of a series of cationic gemini surfactants 12-2-m (m = 8, 12, 16) on the surface of silica was investigated. The critical micelle concentrations, cmcs, of cationic gemini surfactants in the initial solutions and in the supernatants were measured by conductometry and tensiometer. The changes in cmc values indicate that the ion exchanges take place between polar groups of gemini surfactants adsorbed and ions bound on the surface of silica. The adsorption isotherms of cationic gemini surfactants were obtained by a solution depletion method. Based on the driving force, the adsorption includes two steps, one of which is ion exchange, and the other is hydrophobic interaction. In each step, the tendency of surfactant molecules in the solution to form aggregates or to be adsorbed on the silica varies with their structures. The maximum adsorption amount of gemini surfactants on the silica, τmax, decreases as increasing in the length of one alkyl chain, m, from 8, 12 to 16. So the results show that the adsorption behaviors of gemini surfactants are closely related to the dissymmetry of gemini molecules.  相似文献

An aqueous solution of cupric nitrate trihydrate (Cu(NO3)2·3H2O) modified with cetyltrimetylammonium bromide (CTAB) is used to deposit CuO films on glass substrate by chemical spray pyrolysis technique. The thermal analysis shows that the dried CTAB doped precursor decomposes by an exothermic reaction and suggests that minimum substrate temperature for film deposition should be greater than 270 °C. X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies indicate the formation of monoclinic CuO with preferential orientation along (0 0 2) plane for all film samples. The CTAB used as cationic surfactant in precursor results in the suppression of grain growth in films along the (1 1 0), (0 2 0) and (2 2 0) crystal planes of CuO. Surfactant modified films showed an increase in crystallite size of 14 nm at substrate temperature of 300 °C. The scanning electron micrographs (FESEM) confirm the uniform distribution of facets like grains on the entire area of substrate. CTAB modified films show a significant reduction in the particle agglomeration. Electrical studies of the CuO films deposited at substrate temperature of 300 °C with and without surfactant reveal that the CTAB doping increase the activation energy of conduction by 0.217 eV and room temperature response to ammonia by 9%. The kinetics of the ammonia gas adsorption on the film surface follows the Elovich and Diffusion models.  相似文献

Gemini surfactants 22:1-s-22:1, where s = 2 and 6 methylene groups and 22:1 refer to erucyl dimethylammonium bromide chains, together with the monomeric surfactant erucyl bis-(hydroxyethyl) methylammonium bromide (EHAB) which has the same long unsaturated tails with gemini surfactants, were synthesized and characterized and solution properties of these surfactants were investigated using surface tension, conductivity and viscosity measurement. It has been found that the critical micelle concentration (cmc) values of 22:1-2-22:1 and 22:1-6-22:1 are 15.4 and 8.3 μM, respectively, less than the cmc value of EHAB (38 μM). On the other hand, the surface tension of 22:1-2-22:1 and 22:1-6-22:1 at cmc are 40.9 and 42.4, respectively, greater than the surface tension of EHAB (30.9 at cmc). Both 22:1-2-22:1 and 22:1-6-22:1 have nearly the same value of a0 (the minimum head group areas per surfactant molecule at the aqueous solution/air interface), which is almost the half value of a0 corresponding to EHAB. On the other hand, the ionization degree α of micelles of both 22:1-2-22:1 and 22:1-6-22:1 is approximately twice the value of α corresponding to micelles of EHAB. Though 22:1-2-22:1 has more similarity with 22:1-6-22:1 rather than EHAB as presented above, 22:1-2-22:1 in water cannot enhance the viscosity of the solution significantly in the presence of salt. In contrast, both 22:1-6-22:1 and EHAB in water can give rise to highly viscoelastic or gel-like solutions even at the high temperature in the presence of salt. In particular, 22:1-6-22:1 has proved to be a more efficient candidate for high temperature rheology-control applications than EHAB. The effect of salt upon the viscosity of 22:1-6-22:1 in aqueous solution is significant. The most proper ratio of 22:1-6-22:1/NaSal for enhancing the viscosity of solution has been proved to be 0.7.  相似文献

Nanostructured CuO films have been grown on to the glass substrate by varying the deposition time from 10 to 30 min and substrate temperature from 300 to 400 °C by a simple ultrasonic spray pyrolysis technique, using aqueous a cupric nitrate solution as precursor. The effect of the substrate temperature on the textural, structural, electrical, and gas sensing properties of CuO films was studied and correlated. Thermal analysis of the dried precursor shows the elimination of physisorbed and chemisorbed water. It suggests the formation of CuO phase on substrate at temperature of 300 °C. X-ray diffractograms of the films indicate the formation of polycrystalline monoclinic CuO having monoclinic with crystallite size around 18 nm. The texture coefficient finds the (0 0 2) plane as the preferred orientation in films. The microstrain and dislocation densities have been calculated and found to decreases with increase in substrate temperature. The scanning electron micrographs indicate the formation of trapezium like facet structures on the film surface. AFM analysis shows uniform deposition of the CuO film over the entire substrate surface. Observations reveal that the film deposited at 300 °C show comparatively higher activation energy and appreciable response to ammonia at room temperature. The use of aqueous cupric nitrate as precursor results in the deposition of single phase copper oxide films.  相似文献

Vinyl functionalized silica spheres (VFSSs) are prepared by one-step reaction using the aqueous solution of organosilane. The synthetic method is effective and reproducible with one process used. The VFSSs could self-assemble into three-dimensional (3D) fcc photonic crystals. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observations revealed that the VFSSs were highly monodisperse and their surfaces were sufficiently smooth. The size of the VFSSs could be controlled by adjusting the reaction temperature. The sphere size reached its minimum, 394 nm, around 45 °C and became larger when the temperature was either elevated or lowered. The maximum sphere size, 515 nm, was obtained around 15 °C. This work is expected to extend to the preparation and size control of other kinds of hybrid silica spheres.  相似文献

Waste apricot supplied by Malatya apricot plant (Turkey) was activated by using chemical activation method and K2CO3 was chosen for this purpose. Activation temperature was varied over the temperature range of 400-900 °C and N2 atmosphere was used with 10 °C/min heat rate. The maximum surface area (1214 m2/g) and micropore volume (0.355 cm3/g) were obtained at 900 °C, but activated carbon was predominantly microporous at 700 °C. The resulting activated carbons were used for removal of Ni(II) ions from aqueous solution and adsorption properties have been investigated under various conditions such as pH, activation temperature, adsorbent dosage and nickel concentration. Adsorption parameters were determined by using Langmuir model. Optimal condition was determined as; pH 5, 0.7 g/10 ml adsorbent dosage, 10 mg/l Ni(II) concentration and 60 min contact time. The results indicate that the effective uptake of Ni(II) ions was obtained by activating the carbon at 900 °C.  相似文献

An abundant and low-cost agricultural waste as vine shoots (Vitis vinifera) (VS), which is generated by the annual pruning of vineyards, has been used as raw material in the preparation of powder activated carbon (AC) by the method of chemical activation with phosphoric acid. After size reduction, VS were impregnated for 2 h with 60 wt.% H3PO4 solution at room temperature, 50 and 85 °C. The three impregnated products were carbonised at 400 °C. The product impregnated at 50 °C was heated either first at 150-250 °C and then at 400 °C or simply at 350-550 °C in N2 atmosphere. The time of isothermal treatment after each dynamic heating was 2 h. The carbons were texturally characterised by gas adsorption (N2, −196 °C), mercury porosimetry, and density measurements. FT-IR spectroscopy was also applied. Better developments of surface area and microporosity are obtained when the impregnation of VS with the H3PO4 solution is effected at 50 °C and for the products heated isothermally at 200 and 450 °C. The mesopore volume is also usually higher for the products impregnated and heated at intermediate temperatures.  相似文献

The polydiethylsiloxane-based ferrofluid was prepared by dispersing finely divided magnetic Fe3O4 particles which are modified with oleoyl sarcosine and lauroyl sarcosine. The optimized experiment parameters including molar ratio of surfactant to Fe3O4 (1:5), temperature (80 °C), stirring rate (300 RPM), the surfactant content of lauroyl sarcosine (0 to 33 mol%) and the modification time (25 min) were obtained by the orthogonal test. The magnetic liquid was characterized by a transmission electron microscope (TEM), infrared (IR) spectrometer, X-ray diffractometer (XRD), thermogravimetry (TG), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). It is indicated that the surfactant is mainly bonded to the surface of Fe3O4 nanoparticles through covalent bond between carboxylate (COO) and Fe atom. The modified magnetic particles are equally dispersed into the carrier and remain stable below −12 °C over 4 months. The ferrofluids exhibit excellent frost resistance property and distinctly reduced temperature coefficient of viscosity compared with polydimethylsiloxane-based ferrofluids and hydrocarbon-based ferrofluids, respectively. The saturation magnetization could reach up to 27.7 emu/g.  相似文献

Molybdenum-doped iridium oxide thin films have been deposited onto corning glass- and fluorine-doped tin oxide coated corning glass substrates at 350 °C by using a pneumatic spray pyrolysis technique. An aqueous solution of 0.01 M ammonium molybdate was mixed with 0.01 M iridium trichloride solution in different volume proportions and the resultant solution was used as a precursor solution for spraying. The as-deposited samples were annealed at 600 °C in air medium for 1 h. The structural, electrical and optical properties of as-deposited and annealed Mo-doped iridium oxide were studied and values of room temperature electrical resistivity, and thermoelectric power were estimated. The as-deposited samples with 2% Mo doping exhibit more pronounced electrochromism than other samples, including pristine Ir oxide.  相似文献

The degradation of an aqueous solution of dichlorvos, a commonly used pesticide in India, has been systematically investigated using hydrodynamic cavitation reactor. All the experiments have been carried out using a 20 ppm solution of commercially available dichlorvos. The effect of important operating parameters such as inlet pressure (over a range 3-6 bar), temperature (31 °C, 36 °C and 39 °C) and pH (natural pH = 5.7 and acidic pH = 3) on the extent of degradation has been investigated initially. It has been observed that an optimum value of pressure gives maximum degradation whereas low temperature and pH of 3 are favorable. Intensification studies have been carried out using different additives such as hydrogen peroxide, carbon tetrachloride, and Fenton’s reagent. Use of hydrogen peroxide and carbon tetrachloride resulted in the enhancement of the extent of degradation at optimized conditions but significant enhancement was obtained with the combined use of hydrodynamic cavitation and Fenton’s chemistry. The maximum extent of degradation as obtained by using a combination of hydrodynamic cavitation and Fenton’s chemistry was 91.5% in 1 h of treatment time. The present work has conclusively established that hydrodynamic cavitation in combination with Fenton’s chemistry can be effectively used for the degradation of dichlorvos.  相似文献

Sol-gel, a commonly used technique, involves the formation of an amorphous gel from a precursor solution. In this research nanocrystalline alumina powders have been synthesized through a new sol-gel simplified method. The route involved using an environmentally low-cost binder and aluminum nitrate in an aqueous medium. The added metal ions were dispersed in the gelled binder matrix. The gelled mass was dried and characterized by simultaneous thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) and calcined at 350, 400, 530, 650, and 900 °C for 2 h. The samples were evaluated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The used binder can be applied to form a perfect matrix for the entrapment of metal ions that during heat treatment, gives rise to ultrafine amorphous or crystalline alumina particles. In this study, the transition phases of alumina with particle sizes of 15-25 nm as well as aluminum oxide hydrate phase were produced by the heat treatment of the gelled mass at temperature 650 °C. By increasing the calcinations temperature to 900 °C, alumina transition phases were changed and aluminum oxide hydrate eliminated. The particle sizes at this temperature were obtained in the range 15-30 nm. The particle size and crystallite size of products measured from XRD and TEM were in good agreement.  相似文献

Temperature dependent molecular interaction of oxazine dyes, viz., brilliant cresyl blue (C.I. Basic dye), cresyl violet (C.I. Basic violet 3) and nile blue (C.I. Basic blue 12) are studied in aqueous media within a concentration range of 5.0 × 10− 6 M to 8.0 × 10− 4 M by UV-visible absorption spectroscopy. The effect of temperature on the geometrical structure of the dimer in solution along with the dimerization equilibria is explained in terms of electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions. Modified non-covalent interaction between two monomer molecules in a dimer as a function of temperature affects the extinction coefficient as well as the geometrical disposition of the dimers and this is well manifested in the exciton splitting of the dimer spectra. The angle θ between main oscillators of the two monomer molecules in a dimer increases by 1.94° for brilliant cresyl blue, whereas an increase of 4.32° and 1.73° were observed for cresyl violet and nile blue respectively due to the increase of temperature from 20 °C to 60 °C.  相似文献

In this work, plasma electrolytic surface carburizing of pure iron in aqueous solution consisting of water, glycerin and NH4Cl was investigated. Surface carburizing was carried out in 20% glycerin solution treated at 750 °C, 800 °C, 900 °C and 950 °C temperatures for 5, 10 and 30 min. The formation of hard carbon-rich layer on the surface of pure iron was confirmed by XRD analysis. Metallographic and SEM studies revealed a rough and dense carburized layer on the surface of the pure iron. Experimental results showed that the thickness of the carburized layers changes with the time and temperature. The average thickness of the carburized layer ranged from 20 to 160 μm. The hardness of the carburized samples decreased with the distance from the surface to the interior of the test material. The average hardness values of the carburized layers on the substrate ranged 550-850 HV, while the hardness of the substrate ranged from 110 HV to 170 HV. The dominant phases formed on the pure iron were found to be a mixture of cementite (Fe3C), martensite (Fe + C) and austenite (FCC iron) confirmed by XRD. Wear resistance in all plasma electrolytic carburized samples is considerably improved in relation to the untreated specimen. After carburizing, surface roughness of the samples was increased. Friction coefficients were also increased because of high surface roughness.  相似文献

Fluorescent ZnO nanoparticles have been prepared by mixing aqueous solutions of zinc nitrate and ammonium carbonate in the presence of a non-ionic surfactant, Tween-80. Increased concentrations of the surfactant were found to affect both the morphology and purity of the synthesized ZnO nanoparticles. XRD, SEM, FTIR, TGA and Confocal laser scanning microscopy were employed to characterize the as-prepared samples. ZnO nanoparticles ranging in particle size from 11 to 15 nm were formed at the reaction temperature of 70-80 °C. The results of FTIR and TGA analysis indicate the self assembly of Tween molecules on the surface of ZnO nanoparticles. A bright emission in the visible region from the as-prepared ZnO nanoparticles was recorded using confocal laser scanning microscopy. This property of the as-prepared nanoparticles may find potential application in bio-imaging.  相似文献

Cu-Zn/ZnO nanocomposites with a novel core-shell structure have been prepared by a surface precipitation process in aqueous solution. X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy are employed to analyze the structure and morphology of the present products. The influence of the annealing temperature on the core-shell structure of the nanocomposites is investigated, and a possible growth model is proposed. Furthermore, the gas sensors based on the Cu-Zn/ZnO nanocomposites are fabricated and tested, which exhibits high sensitivity and fast response to CO. The best results are obtained for the sensor based on the film annealed at 350 °C, which shows that the sensitivity is about 6.3 when the sensor is exposed to 100 ppm CO at the operating temperature of 240 °C. The possible sensing mechanism of the Cu-Zn/ZnO sensing film has also been discussed.  相似文献

Thermal stability and crystallization of the Fe81B12Si4C2 alloy were investigated in the temperature range 25-700 °C by the XRD and Mössbauer analysis. It was shown that on heating the as-prepared amorphous Fe81B12Si4C2 alloy undergoes thermal stabilization through a series of structural transformations involving the process of stress-relieving (temperature range 200-400 °C), followed by a loss of ferromagnetic properties (Curie temperature at 420 °C) and finally crystallization (temperature range 450-530 °C). The process of crystallization begins by formation of two crystal phases: Fe3B and subsequently Fe2B, as well as a solid solution α-Fe(Si). With increase in annealing temperature, the completely crystallized alloy involved only two phases, Fe2B and solid solution α-Fe(Si).XRD patterns established a difference in phase composition and size of the formed crystallites during crystallization depending on the side (fishy or shiny) of the ribbon. The first nuclei of the phase α-Fe3Si were found on the shiny side by XRD after heat treatment even at 200 °C but the same phase on the fishy side of ribbon was noticed after heat treatment at 450 °C. The largest difference between the contact and free surface was found for the Fe2B phase crystallized by heating at 700 °C, showing the largest size of crystallites of about 130 nm at 700 °C on the free (shiny) surface.  相似文献

Asphalt (cheap and available in huge amount in Jordan) was converted into activated carbon powder by chemical treatment with sulphuric and nitric acids at 450 °C. The final product was characterized and found effective as adsorbent material. Its cation exchange capacity reaches 191.2 meq/100-g carbons when treated with 30 wt% acid/asphalt ratio without airflow rate injection and 208 meq/100-g carbons when 6.5 ml air/min was injected into the surface of the asphalt during activation at the same acid/asphalt weight ratio of 30 and temperature 450 °C. The zero point of charge for this product was found to be stable at pH value around 3 in the range of initial pH between 3 and 10.  相似文献

The preparation of one-dimensional assemblies of PbS nanoparticles is described. By treating the suspension of PbCl2 powders in aqueous thioacetamide solution at 120 °C for 18 h, PbS nanoparticles were synthesized in regular chain-like patterns. The particles were less than 100 nm in sizes, and were organized into micron-length assemblies. The starting agents have much influence on the morphology of the products. The possible growth mechanism is also discussed.  相似文献

Optical properties of iridium oxide films fabricated by the spray pyrolysis technique (SPT) have been investigated. The transmission and reflection spectra of the sprayed films were measured by using a double-beam spectrophotometer in the wavelength range from 200 to 2500 nm. Influences of the preparative parameters; namely, substrate temperature (350-500 °C) and solution molarity (0.005-0.03 M), on the optical characteristics were examined. The solution molarity of the iridium chloride solution was varied so as to prepare iridium oxide thin films with thicknesses ranging from 160 to 325 nm. Some important characteristics of optical absorption, such as optical dispersion energies, the dielectric constant, the ratio of the number of charge carriers to the effective mass, the single oscillator wavelength, and the average value of the oscillator strength, were evaluated. The value of the refractive index was found to depend on the chemical composition as well as the degree of stoichiometry of IrO2. The values obtained for the high frequency dielectric constant through two procedures are in the range of 2.8-3.9 and 3.3-4.6 over the relevant ranges of the substrate temperature and solution molarity, respectively. Analysis of the energy dispersion curve of the absorption coefficient indicated a direct optical transition with the bandgap energy ranging between 2.61 and 2.51 eV when the substrate temperature increases from 350 to 500 °C.  相似文献
