Numerical simulation of self-modulation lasing regimes has been carried out for a CO2 laser with transverse flow of the active medium through an unstable resonator with inhomogeneous internal pumping. Two types of steady-state self-modulation oscillation differing in the feedback mechanism were observed. The type of lasing regime and the conditions of its realization depend both upon the pumping profile and upon the composition and pressure of the working mixture, which makes it generally possible to control temporal characteristics of lasing.  相似文献

Self-modulation regimes of generation in a powerful 10-micros X-band backward-wave oscillator were studied theoretically and experimentally. The sequence of the self-modulation patterns and corresponding bifurcation values observed as the current was increased were in good agreement with the results of simulations. It was found that at a current of 120 A chaotic self-modulation set in at a power of 2 MW and a relative spectral width of 4%.  相似文献

We study self-modulation and chaotic regimes of generation in a relativistic backward-wave oscillator in the presence of reflections of radiation from the boundaries of a slow-wave structure. The onset of self-modulation is examined in detail in the cases of weak and strong reflections. A numerical simulation of transition-to-chaos scenarios is performed over a wide range of parameters. The relation of bifurcation transitions between different regimes to the formation of spatio-temporal structures in the electron beam is discussed.  相似文献

The dynamics of a system with three parametrically coupled waves with delayed feedback is considered. Results of the detailed numerical simulation of the onset of self-modulation, as well as complex dynamic and chaotic regimes, are presented. The relation of self-modulation regimes with the formation and propagation of solitons is investigated. It is discovered that as the pump parameter increases, the synchronization of phases of the interacting waves, which is characteristic of stationary generation and periodic self-modulation regimes, is violated, and the system goes to a chaotic regime via intermittency.  相似文献

In this research, single-mode 3.76 GHz optical pulses were generated in a Fabry-Perot type single-mode semiconductor laser with polarization-rotated optical feedback (PROF) at a round-trip feedback distance of 50.8 cm, corresponding to a feedback frequency of 0.59 GHz. Experimental results and numerical simulations revealed that the pulse generation mechanism involved a self-modulation of the laser’s relaxation oscillation frequency so that the oscillation frequency approximated to an integer multiple of the PROF round-trip feedback frequency. This effect is very different from similar experiments reported by many researchers before, in which the laser’s output was amplitude modulated by the feedback frequency and an ultra-short feedback distance was required to generate giga-hertz optical pulses. Investigations about some characteristics of the self-modulation mechanism will be reported in the paper.  相似文献

The square-wave response of edge-emitting diode lasers subject to a delayed polarization-rotated optical feedback is studied in detail. Specifically, the polarization state of the feedback is rotated such that the natural laser mode is coupled into the orthogonal, unsupported mode. Square-wave self-modulated polarization intensities oscillating in antiphase are observed experimentally. We find numerically that these oscillations naturally appear for a broad range of values of parameters, provided that the feedback is sufficiently strong and the differential losses in the normally unsupported polarization mode are small. We then investigate the laser equations analytically and find that the square-wave oscillations are the result of a bifurcation phenomenon.  相似文献

We present the results of numerical simulations of the nonlinear dynamics of a traveling-wave-tube (TWT) oscillator with delayed feedback. Basic properties of stationary single-frequency oscillation regimes are considered, and the onset of self-modulation is studied in detail. Various route-to-chaos scenarios corresponding to successively increasing values of the beam current are simulated numerically. It is shown that the basic scenario is a quasi-periodic route to chaos, while the beam deceleration in strongly nonlinear regimes causes transitions via intermittency to regimes based on modes with higher frequencies. Competition between these two scenarios leads to a complex picture of regular and chaotic self-modulation regimes in the parameter space. Such a behavior is typical of distributed electron–wave self-excited oscillators with delayed feedback.  相似文献

由于长距离单模光纤传输中存在的双折射效应会引起偏振随机抖动,光纤中利用偏振编码进行量子密钥分发一直难以实现.利用光子计数分析光纤中的偏振变化情况,并通过反馈控制的方式补偿偏振变化,从而实现了基于BB84协议的偏振编码长时间稳定的量子密钥分发实验,传输距离为100km. 关键词: 量子密钥分发 偏振反馈控制 单光子探测 偏振随机抖动  相似文献

Since the past two decades, the time delay feedback control method has attracted more and more attention in chaos control studies because of its simplicity and efficiency compared with other chaos control schemes. Recently, it has been proposed to suppress low-dimensional chaos with the notch filter feedback control method, which can be implemented in a laser system. In this work, we have analytically determined the controllable conditions for notch filter feedback controlling of Chen chaotic system in terms of the Hopf bifurcation theory. The conditions for notch filter feedback controlled Chen chaoitc system having a stable limit cycle solution are given. Meanwhile, we also analysed the Hopf bifurcation direction, which is very important for parameter settings in notch filter feedback control applications. Finally, we apply the notch filter feedback control methods to the electronic circuit experiments and numerical simulations based on the theoretical analysis. The controlling results of notch filter feedback control method well prove the feasibility and reliability of the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

建立了反馈调谐CO_2激光器的物理数学模型.稳态分析结果表明,只有当反馈系数大于某一临界值之后,才能出现激光器泵浦速率与激光输出之间的光学双稳性.线性稳定性分析的结果表明,系统失稳的必要条件是失谐量的Debye弛豫速率(反馈系统的带宽)必须超过布居反转的衰减速率.只有当激光泵浦落在某一范围内时,才出现不稳性.数值分析的结果证明了系统输出倍的周期分岔混沌行为.线性稳定性分析预言的Hopf分岔频率与数值分析的结果符合得很好.  相似文献

We have generated TEM0,l * modes in an end-pumped microchip laser using a standard fiber-coupled diode. A rich set of dynamic behaviors, such as periodic and quasi-periodic self-modulation, chaotic pulsing and frequency locking was observed in the generated TEM0,l * modes. Experimental results confirm the theoretical predictions that the locking occurs as a subcritical bifurcation and that a region of coexisting locked and unlocked states exists. The emergence of the self-modulation instability of monochromatic microwave spin waves excited in a periodic magnetic film structure, a magnonic crystal, has been observed. The magnonic crystal was fabricated by chemically etching the surface a single-crystal yttrium-iron garnet film. The self-modulation instability has been observed at the frequencies corresponding to the band gaps of the spin-wave spectrum of the magnonic crystal caused by Bragg resonances. Above a certain threshold value of the input microwave signal, the time profile of the output pulses corresponds to envelope solitons.  相似文献

We demonstrate numerically calculated electromagnetic eigenmodes of a 3D dome cavity resonator that owe their shape and character entirely to the Goos-H?nchen effect. The V-shaped modes, which have purely TE or TM polarization, are well described by a 2D billiard map with the Goos-H?nchen shift included. A phase space plot of this augmented billiard map reveals a saddle-node bifurcation; the stable periodic orbit that is created in the bifurcation corresponds to the numerically calculated eigenmode, dictating the angle of its 'V.' A transition from a fundamental Gaussian to a TM V mode has been observed as the cavity is lengthened to become nearly hemispherical.  相似文献

A method for suppressing self-modulation in backward-wave tubes is proposed. Additional delay is introduced into the feedback circuit, owing to which the output signal amplitude affects the electron beam current that enters into the interaction space. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the operating current in the single-frequency oscillation mode may be increased roughly twofold.  相似文献

基于扩展的自旋反转模型, 对光电负反馈下垂直腔表面发射激光器的偏振开关特性进行了数值仿真和理论分析. 研究结果表明: 对于不同的自旋反转率, 反馈强度和延迟时间对激光器偏振开关特性产生较大影响.在慢自旋反转率下运行时, 随着反馈强度的增加, 开关点电流呈线性增加, 导致X偏振模被压缩, 这与报道的基于各向同性光反馈的情景相反, 产生这一现象的原因是由于光电负反馈提高了X偏振模的阈值; 延迟时间对开关点电流的影响随反馈强度的变化而不同.在快自旋反转率下运行时, 反馈强度对开关点电流的影响与慢自旋反转率时的情形不同, 开关点电流经历先增加后减小的过程, 开关点电流受反馈强度的影响更加敏感; 而延迟时间的影响规律和慢自旋反转率时相似. 此外, 还发现自发辐射噪声对激光器偏振开关特性有较大影响. 关键词: 垂直腔表面发射激光器 偏振开关 光电负反馈 自发辐射噪声  相似文献

The transition from stationary to chaotic spin-wave soliton trains has been observed. The experiment utilized cw excitation of envelope solitons through self-modulation instability of spin waves. By increasing the spin-wave power, the secondary self-modulation instability succeeded the primary modulation instability, resulting in after-modulation of the soliton train amplitude. Further increase of the spin-wave power led to development of the higher-order instabilities, resulting in formation of the chaotic soliton train.  相似文献

The complex dynamics of a model double-cavity delayed feedback klystron oscillator is considered. The self-oscillation and stationary oscillation conditions are analyzed theoretically. The results of numerical simulation of the self-modulation and chaotic regimes are presented, and routes to chaos at the center and boundaries of the oscillation zone are studied in detail. The polarization dynamics of a dye-solution laser with light-induced distributed feedback (DFB) has been analyzed. A theoretical model of a DFB-laser, which makes it possible to calculate the dynamics of the lasing process for two orthogonally polarized modes, has been constructed. The influence of three main factors — rotational diffusion of dye molecules in solution, anisotropy of the saturation effect, and orientation of the electric vector of pumping beams with respect to the plane of their incidence — on the degree of polarization of output radiation has been investigated. Comparison of the calculated dependences with the results of experimental measurements has shown that the latter factor is of the greatest importance. It is shown that in this case, the degree of polarization of the output radiation of a DFB-laser can have a complex dynamics that does not correlate with the time behavior of the lasing pulse.  相似文献

Dynamics of a delayed-feedback oscillator with cubic nonlinearity driven by an external harmonic signal is considered. Regimes of forced synchronization and their stability conditions are studied analytically and numerically for the cases of single-frequency and multiple-frequency (self-modulation) operation of the free-running oscillator. Special attention is paid to synchronization of the oscillator with bistability of steady states which arises near the boundary of generation zone. Results of numerical simulation of bifurcation transitions to synchronization regime for different driving frequencies are presented. Main differences from the classical picture of synchronization for a system with one degree of freedom are discussed.  相似文献
