In the present paper, the perturbance of a harmonic plane wave by an expanding surface originating at a fixed point is considered. This surface generates a wave with spherical front. An analytic expression of the wave field in the vicinity of the wave front is obtained both in the scalar and in the electromagnetic case. Bibliography: 7 titles. For the problem of the diffraction of normal modes by an inclined crack in an elastic layer, an integral equation with explicit representation of the Fourier symbol kernel is derived in the form of the product of matrices. The algorithm for calculating the wave fields, based on the analytical representations obtained, enables a rapid parametric analysis to be carried out of the influence of the size and orientation of the crack on the transmission of travelling waves. The influence of the inclination of the crack on the effects of resonance trapping and localization of wave energy, which were established previously for the case of a horizontal crack, is analysed.  相似文献

The generation of waves inside an ideal two-layer stratified shallow water by the uniform motion of a vertical plate partially immersed in the fluid mass is studied in two dimensions. The fluid is assumed to occupy an infinite channel of constant depth. Two distinctive cases are studied according to whether the submerged part of the moving plate is smaller or greater than the upper layer's depth. In the first case, the lower fluid layer is not influenced by the motion of the plate up to the second order of approximation and local perturbations, only, are created in the upper layer. For the second case, progressive waves of the first order are shown in both layers besides local perturbations of the second order in the lower layer only. Passing to the limit of homogeneous fluids, local perturbations only remain. This passage to the limit shows that the stratification of the fluid mass is significant for the generation progressive waves. The systems of stream lines are drawn for stratified and homogeneous fluids.  相似文献

We consider solutions of the scalar wave equation vanishing on the boundary of an obstacle which undergoes periodic motion. In analogy with the Lax-Phillips theory, we show that the scattering matrix, as a function of frequency, is holomorphic in a lower half-plane, and meromorphic in an upper half-plane, provided rays are not trapped. The poles of the scattering matrix correspond to certain outgoing eigenfunctions, and there is a near-field expansion of finite energy solutions in terms of these eigenfunctions.  相似文献

Es wird die symmetrische Natur der Lösung des Variationsproblems für die ebene Poiseuille-Strömung geprüft. In this paper, we combine the Muskhelishvili's complex variable method and boundary collocation method, and choose a set of new stress function based on the stress boundary condition of crack surface, the higher precision and less computation are reached. This method is applied to calculating the stress intensity factor for a finite plate with an inclined crack. The influence of θ (the obliquity of crack) on the stress intensity factors, as well as the number of summation terms on the stress intensity factor are studied and graphically represented.  相似文献

The linear problem of the harmonic oscillations of an ideal incompressible heavy liquid with a free surface in the presence of two and more infinitely long partially submerged cylindrical bodies of arbitrary cross-section is considered. It is proved that there are configurations of the bodies which provide examples of the non-uniqueness of the boundary-value problem in the case of an arbitrary frequency of the oscillations and an arbitrary non-zero angle between the generatrix of the cylinders and the direction of propagation of the surface waves. In the case of these configurations, the homogeneous boundary-value problem has non-trivial solutions with a finite energy integral, which describe trapped modes of oscillation of the liquid.  相似文献

Free-surface flow past a semi-infinite flat plate in a channelof finite depth is considered. The fluid is assumed to be inviscidand incompressible, and the flow to be two-dimensional and irrotational.Surface tension is included in the dynamic boundary conditionbut the effects of gravity are neglected. It is shown that thereis a three-parameter family of solutions with waves in the farfield and a discontinuity in slope at the separation point.This family includes as particular cases the solutions previouslycomputed by Osborn & Stump (2001, Phys. Using a boundary method, we investigated the scattering of elastic plane harmonic SH, SV, P, and Rayleigh waves by three-dimensional nonaxisymmetric dipping layers embedded in an elastic half-space. The valley was subjected to incident Rayleigh wave and oblique incident SH, SV, and P waves. The method utilized spherical wave functions to express the unknown scattered field. These functions satisfy the equation of motion and radiation conditions at infinity but they do not satisfy the stress-free boundary conditions at the surface of the half-space. The boundary and continuity conditions are imposed locally in the least-square-sense at several points on the layer interface and on the surface of the half-space. A comparative study was done to examine the validity and limitations of the two-dimensional approximations (antiplane and plane strain models) of three-dimensional models. It is demonstrated that the two-dimensional approximations may be inadequate to represent actual displacement field for three-dimensional irregularities.  相似文献

The interaction of water waves with circular plate within the framework of a linear theory is considered. The plate lies on the free surface in water of finite depth. The integral transform technique is used to solve this problem. The problem is reduced to a system of dual integral equations for a spectral function. The way to solve these equations consists in converting them into Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. The asymptotic solutions of this equation are obtained. Propagation of nonlinear shear horizontal (SH) waves in a homogeneous, isotropic and incompressible elastic plate of uniform thickness is considered. The constituent material of the plate is assumed to be generalized neo-Hookean. By employing a perturbation method and balancing the weak nonlinearity and dispersion in the analysis, it is shown that the nonlinear modulation of waves is governed asymptotically by a nonlinear Schr?dinger (NLS) equation. Then the effect of nonlinearity on the propagation characteristics of asymptotic waves is discussed on the basis of this equation. It is found that, irrespective of the plate thickness, the wave number and the mode number, when the plate material is softening in shear then the nonlinear plane periodic waves are unstable under infinitesimal perturbations and therefore the bright (envelope) solitary SH waves will exist and propagate in such a plate. But if the plate material is hardening in shear in this case nonlinear plane periodic waves are stable and only the dark solitary SH waves may exist.  相似文献
