ALGEBROIDAL FUNCTION AND ITS DERIVED FUNCTION IN UNIT CIRCULAR DISC

In this article,the authors define the derived function of an algeboidal function in the unit disc,prove it is an algabriodal function,and study the order of algebroidal function and that of its derived function in unit circular disc.

Finding nonnormal bent functions

The question if there exist nonnormal bent functions was an open question for several years. A Boolean function in n variables is called normal if there exists an affine subspace of dimension n/2 on which the function is constant. In this paper we give the first nonnormal bent function and even an example for a nonweakly normal bent function. These examples belong to a class of bent functions found in [J.F. Dillon, H. Dobbertin, New cyclic difference sets with Singer parameters, in: Finite Fields and Applications, to appear], namely the Kasami functions. We furthermore give a construction which extends these examples to higher dimensions. Additionally, we present a very efficient algorithm that was used to verify the nonnormality of these functions.     

Representations for the derivative at zero and finite parts of the Barnes zeta function

We provide new representations for the finite parts at the poles and the derivative at zero of the Barnes zeta function in any dimension in the general case. These representations are in the forms of series and limits. We also give an integral representation for the finite parts at the poles. Similar results are derived for an associated function, which we term homogeneous Barnes zeta function. Our expressions immediately yield analogous representations for the logarithm of the Barnes gamma function, including the particular case also known as multiple gamma function.     

Approximation of Subharmonic Functions in the Half-Plane by the Logarithm of the Modulus of an Analytic Function

We approximate subharmonic functions defined in the open half-plane in the uniform metric outside the exceptional set by the logarithm of the modulus of an analytic (in the half-plane) function for the cases of a finite order and of an infinite lower order. We also obtain an estimate for the size of the exceptional set. It is shown that, in the case of a finite order, the obtained accuracy of the approximation cannot be essentially improved.

复变函数论中的多值函数教学是一个难点.钟玉泉先生的教材在这一难点的处理方面是较成功的.他通过例题,介绍多值函数分成单值分支的方法,介绍求函数值的方法,并对这些方法进行了总结,得出的结论是:当给定初值后,只有通过连续变化才能得到其它点的函数值.这一点和传统的代入法求函数值完全不同.然而该教材就在这一总结之后,又用代入法求Arcsin2.我们认为这自我否定了刚刚建立起来的求值方法,扰乱了读者的思想.本文通过对Arcsinz分成单值解析分支的讨论,对求Arcsin2提出了新的教材处理方案,以期和读者商榷.     

ON ENTIRE FUNCTIONS, BLOCH AND NORMAL FUNCTIONS

New criteria for an analytic function to be Bloch and for a meromorphic function to benormal are given. These criteria generalize the recently introduced area integral conditionsinvolving a Green's function.

Many problems of optimization involve the minimization of an objective function on a convex cone. In this respect we define a concave gauge function which will be used in interior point methods.Application are given in particular on the space of real symmetric matrices.     

Estimation of production technology when the objective is to maximize return to the outlay

This paper deals with estimation of production technology where endogeneous choice of input and output variables is explicitly recognized. To address this endogeneity issue, we assume that producers maximize return to the outlay. We start from a flexible (translog) transformation function with a single output and multiple inputs and show how the first-order conditions of maximizing return to the outlay can be used to come up with an ‘estimating equation’ that does not suffer from the econometric endogeneity problem although the output and input variables are chosen endogenously. This is because the regressors in this estimating equation are in ratio forms which are uncorrelated with the error term under the assumption that producers maximize return to the outlay. The analysis is then extended to the multiple outputs and multiple inputs case with technical inefficiency. Although the estimating equations in both single and multiple output cases are neither production nor distance functions, they can be estimated in a straightforward manner using the standard stochastic frontier technique without worrying about endogeneity of the regressors. Thus, we provide a rationale for estimating the technology parameters consistently using an econometric model which requires data on only input and output quantities.     

An algebroid function and its derivative

In this paper, we investigate the value distribution of an algebroid function and its derivative, and obtain two inequations between Nevanlinna characteristic function of an algebroid function and that of its derivative. We extend Chuang Chitai's theorem of meromorphic functions to algebroid functions.     

The star function for meromorphic functions of several complex variables

We define an analogue of the Baernstein star function for a meromorphic function f in several complex variables. This function is subharmonic on the upper half-plane and encodes some of the main functionals attached to f. We then characterize meromorphic functions admitting a harmonic star function.

On Timonov's algorithm for global optimization of univariate Lipschitz functions

Timonov proposes an algorithm for global maximization of univariate Lipschitz functions in which successive evaluation points are chosen in order to ensure at each iteration a maximal expected reduction of the region of indeterminacy, which contains all globally optimal points. It is shown that such an algorithm does not necessarily converge to a global optimum.

Ageing concepts: An approach based on quantile function

The notion of ageing plays an important role in reliability analysis and in identifying life distributions. Most of the ageing concepts existing in the literature are described on the basis of measures defined in terms of the distribution function. Recently, the role of quantile functions has also been identified as lifetime models, and reliability functions based on distribution functions were redefined in terms of quantile functions. In the present paper, we redefine some important popular ageing concepts using quantile functions. The uses of new definitions are illustrated by discussing ageing properties of some quantile function models.     

Efficient algorithmic implementation of the Voigt/complex error function based on exponential series approximation

We show that a Fourier expansion of the exponential multiplier yields an exponential series that can compute high-accuracy values of the complex error function in a rapid algorithm. Numerical error analysis and computational test reveal that with essentially higher accuracy it is as fast as FFT-based Weideman’s algorithm at a regular size of the input array and considerably faster at an extended size of the input array. As this exponential series approximation is based only on elementary functions, the algorithm can be implemented utilizing freely available functions from the standard libraries of most programming languages. Due to its simplicity, rapidness, high-accuracy and coverage of the entire complex plane, the algorithm is efficient and practically convenient in numerical methods related to the spectral line broadening and other applications requiring error-function evaluation over extended input arrays.

本文研究了平面上的亚纯函数的奇异方向,利用Tsuji’s的第二基本定理和几个已有的关于函数增长性估计的引理,证明了平面上的零级亚纯函数至少存在一条T方向,这种方向直接以特征函数为比较函数,克服了Borel方向的定义中关于增长级不能为零的限制.
