We design a laser diode (LD) end-pumped passively mode-locked solid-state laser with a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror. Mode-matching efficiency in the active medium including the thermal effect is analyzed, and the optimum mode-matching coefficient is obtained by optimizing the pump mode. In the experiment, a total power of 4.2 W stable pulse sequences without multipulse at 1064 nm is obtained with a pulse repetition rate of 86 MHz and a pulse width of 13 ps, corresponding to a high optical to optical efficiency of 44%.  相似文献

The intracavity doubling of a tunable Yb-doped fiber laser is studied. The phase effects are observed, analyzed and compensated. A smooth wavelength dependence of the second harmonic is obtained in the wavelength interval 540–550 nm. The second-harmonic output is greater than 300 mW at an LD pump power of 18 W.  相似文献

We report a LD end pumped actively mode locked, passively Q switched and cavity dumped Nd:YAP laser at 1.34 μm. The dumped output pulse energy of 160 μJ is obtained at a repetition rate of 10 Hz. Passing through a LD end pumped, double-passed Nd:YAP amplifier the pulse energy is amplified to 1.44 mJ. The corresponding amplification factor is 9. Stimulated Raman scattering experiment is taken with a 9 mm long PbWO4 Raman crystal. Maximum of 20% Raman conversion is reached.  相似文献

We successfully obtain a high-average-power high-stability Q-switched green laser based on diode-side-pumped composite ceramic Nd:YAG in a straight plano-concave cavity. The temperature distribution in composite ceramic Nd:YAG crystal is numerically analyzed and compared with that of conventional Nd:YAG crystal. By using a composite ceramic Nd:YAG rod and a type-II high gray track resistance KTP (HGTR-KTP) crystal, a green laser with an average output power of 165 W is obtained at a repetition rate of 25 kHz, with a diode-to-green optical conversion of 14.68%, and a pulse width of 162 ns. To the best of our knowledge, both the output power and optical-to-optical efficiency are the highest values for green laser systems with intracavity frequency doubling of this novel composite ceramic Nd:YAG laser to date. The power fluctuation at around 160 W is lower than 0.3% in 2.5 hours.  相似文献

The applied laser energy absorbed in a local area in laser thermal stress cleaving of brittle materials using a controlled fracture technique produces tensile thermal stress that causes the material to separate along the moving direction of the laser beam. The material separation is similar to crack extension, but the fracture growth is controllable. Using heat transfer theory, we establish a three-dimensional (3D) mathematical thermoelastic calculational model containing a pre-existing crack for a two-point pulsed Nd:YAG laser cleaving silicon wafer. The temperature field and thermal stress field in the silicon wafer are obtained by using the finite element method (FEM). The distribution of the tensile stress and changes in stress intensity factor around the crack tip are analyzed during the pulse duration. Meanwhile, the mechanism of crack propagation is investigated by analyzing the development of the thermal stress field during the cleaving process.  相似文献

Abstract: Laser resonator is very important in the study and fabrication of lasers. The work conditions and work parameters of rare-earth element-doped optical fiber lasers with two different structures of laser resonators, i. e., the fiber ring resonator and Fabry-Perot resonator are studied. The fineness, laser resonant conditions, laser oscillation conditions and threshold inversion of these two different cavity are deduced. A series of experiments are also given. The result is very valuable to evaluate the output of optical fiber laser and can be a foundation of device fabrication. The Nd~(3 )-doped silica single-mode fiber laser pumped by Ar~ laser with a low threshold of 1.02 mW and a maximum output of more than 1 mW are presented in this paper.  相似文献

We demonstrate the characteristics of relatively low saturation intensity using co-doped Nd, Cr:YAG as saturable absorber for passively mode locking the Nd:YAG laser. The difference of the saturation intensity between Q-switched and mode-locked operation in co-doped Nd, Cr:YAG was only one to two orders of magnitude, while Cr:YAG was generally reported at a difference of five orders of magnitude. More than 80% mode locking modulation depth was achieved at an incident pump power of 4.4W, corresponding to an intracavity intensity of 6×10^4W/cm^2, using a 68cm long plano-concave cavity.  相似文献

Amorphous silicon–carbon alloy films in different compositions were prepared by pulsed laser deposition from two-component targets containing pure silicon and carbon parts. The silicon–carbon ratio in the films was varied by adjusting the number of laser shots on the constituent silicon and carbon targets. The composition, optical properties, thickness, and bonding structure of the films were determined by backscattering spectrometry, spectroscopic ellipsometry, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, respectively. Backscattering spectrometry data were used to determine the deposition rate of silicon and carbon. This enabled the calculation of the number of the shots onto each target to reach a predefined composition. As the film composition changed from carbon to silicon, it was shown that the microscopic and macroscopic properties of the films also changed from a diamond-like carbon phase to an amorphous silicon phase via graphite- and silicon-carbide-like composite.  相似文献

We report the fabrication of an MoS_2 black phosphorus(BP) composite saturable absorber by liquid phase exfoliation and the spin-coating method and further exploitation to build a 2 μm passively Q-switched Tm:YAP laser. Such a composite based Q-switched laser with a duration of 488 ns and corresponding peak power of 85.9 W is obtained, which shows an improved saturable absorption effect than that of single MoS_2(616 ns,68.7 W) and BP(932 ns, 22.4 W). The results indicate that simple and reasonable fabrication of the vertical composite from two-dimensional atomic layer materials opens up the possibility to create an unprecedented saturable absorber with exciting properties.  相似文献

本文报道用BBO晶体作为腔内倍频元件,在带抗共振环的对撞脉冲锁模非稳腔Nd:YAG激光器中实现腔内倍频激光输出,获得倍频能量转换效率为50.4%.理论和实验均证明了该激光器的BBO腔内倍频转换效率高于腔外倍频转换效率.  相似文献

本文报道用Nd:YAP (Nd:YALO_3)激光介质在带抗共振环的平-凸非稳腔结构中,选用五甲川-1,2-二氯乙烷染料,实现对撞脉冲被动锁模,获得良好锁模脉冲波形的实验结果.在1Hz的重复频率下,锁模脉冲平均脉宽<10ps,输出脉冲系列平均能量80mJ,脉冲系列能量集中于中央的三个脉冲,锁模成功率100%.输出能量稳定性80±4mJ.  相似文献

We report on a passively Q-switched end pumped Nd:YLF laser including a noncritically phase-matched KTP singly resonant intracavity optical parametric oscillator (IOPO-KTP). For the Q-switching operation we have used Cr:YAG saturable absorber. The optimized passively Q-switched Nd:YLF laser without IOPO generated linearly polarized pulses of 11.5 ns and 1.07 mJ at 1047 nm. The conversion efficiency of the optimized Q-switched pulse energy at 1047 nm to 1547 nm of a signal approached about 47%. For optimizing both Nd:YLF laser and IOPO we have numerically solved a theoretical model. We have achieved 1.6-ns duration pulses at 1547 nm with energy of 0.5 mJ and peak power of above 300 kW. We demonstrate the generation of TEM00 mode yellow light in critically type II phase-matched KTiOPO4 (KTP) with intracavity frequency doubling of a diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser at room temperature. After a 150 μm thick etalon have been inserted into the cavity, the stability and beam quality of the second harmonic generation (SHG) is enhanced. A continuous wave (CW) TEM00 mode output power of 1.67 W at 556 nm is obtained at a pump level of 16 W. The total optical to optical conversion efficiency is about 10.44%. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first Watt-level yellow light generation by frequency doubling of Nd:YAG laser.  相似文献

Intracavity frequency doubling of a single-mode Nd:YAG laser using a nonplanar ring cavity is demonstrated. The nonplanar ring cavity consists of a Brewster-angled Nd: YAG crystal placed in a magnetic field, a KTP crystal, and two spherical mirrors. In this design the Nd:YAG crystal acts as both a nonreciprocal polarization rotator and a partial polarizer, and the nonplanar portion of the ring cavity, which is formed by a relative twist angle between the Brewster-angled end surfaces of the crystal, serves as a reciprocal polarization rotator. Eigenpolarization theory for the cavity configuration is presented and a suitable value of the relative twist angle for unidirectional operation is estimated. A single-mode output power of 22 mW at 532 nm is obtained with a 1.2-W diode laser at 809 nm and a laser linewidth of less than 100 kHz is inferred from a beat note frequency spectrum between two identical laser systems.  相似文献
