The linear entropy and the Loschmidt echo have proved to be of interest recently in the context of quantum information and of the quantum to classical transitions. We study the asymptotic long-time behavior of these quantities for open quantum maps and relate the decays to the eigenvalues of a coarse-grained superoperator. In specific ranges of coarse graining, and for chaotic maps, these decay rates are given by the Ruelle-Pollicott resonances of the classical map.  相似文献

Quantum particles can be obtained from a classical probability distribution in phase space by a suitable coarse graining, whereby simultaneous classical information about position and momentum can be lost. For a suitable time evolution of the classical probabilities and choice of observables all features of a quantum particle in a potential follow from classical statistics. Observing quantum effects such as superpositions and entanglement in macroscopic systems requires not only a system that is well protected against environmental decoherence, but also sufficient measurement precision. Motivated by recent experiments, we study the effects of coarse graining in photon number measurements on the observability of micro-macro entanglement that is created by greatly amplifying one photon from an entangled pair. We compare the results obtained for a unitary quantum cloner, which generates micro-macro entanglement, and for a measure-and-prepare cloner, which produces a separable micro-macro state. We show that the distance between the probability distributions of results for the two cloners approaches zero for a fixed moderate amount of coarse graining. Proving the presence of micro-macro entanglement therefore becomes progressively harder as the system size increases.  相似文献

The quantification of the quantumness of a quantum ensemble has theoretical and practical significance in quantum information theory. We propose herein a class of measures of the quantumness of quantum ensembles using the unitary similarity invariant norms of the commutators of the constituent density operators of an ensemble. Rigorous proof shows that they share desirable properties for a measure of quantumness, such as positivity, unitary invariance, concavity under probabilistic union, convexity under state decomposition, decreasing under coarse graining, and increasing under fine graining. Several specific examples illustrate the applications of these measures of quantumness in studying quantum information.  相似文献

Dynamic coarse graining is a procedure to map a dynamical system with large degrees of freedom to a system with smaller degrees of freedom by properly choosing coarse grained variables. This procedure has been conducted mainly by empiricisms. In this paper, I will discuss a theoretical principle which may be useful for this procedure. I will discuss how to choose coarse grained variables (or slow variables), and how to set up their evolution equations. To this end, I will review the classical example of dynamic coarse graining, i.e., the Brownian motion theory, and show a variational principle for the evolution of the slow variables. The principle, called the Onsager principle, is useful not only to derive the evolution equations, but also to solve the problems.  相似文献

为了提高Lempel-Ziv复杂度(LZC)的抗干扰能力和稳定性,提出用等概率粗粒化方法计算LZC的思想,介绍其具体算法,分析二值粗粒化阈值与LZC的关系.用Logistic映射生成87个序列进行抗干扰试验,计算这些序列加噪前后所得LZC序列的相关系数和相对变异系数,作为LZC指标抗干扰能力的测度,用10个脑电图进行LZC稳定性测试.结果表明,用等概率粗粒化方法时的相关系数都大于0.998,相对变异系数较小,脑电的LZC稳定性好.该方法可明显提高LZC的抗干扰能力和稳定性.  相似文献

The evolution of a quantum wave function on a lattice with time-dependent random disorder is studied. It is found that the bound state wave function of a quantum system exhibits intrinsic instability with respect to noisy disorder in the statistical sense. Under the general scheme of time coarse graining, we show nonperturbatively that the stationary attractive potential is completely washed out at large time scales by the existence of the noisy disorder to any order of density correlations.  相似文献

Reducing the complexity of large systems described as complex networks is key to understanding them and a crucial issue is to know which properties of the initial system are preserved in the reduced one. Here we use random walks to design a coarse graining scheme for complex networks. By construction the coarse graining preserves the slow modes of the walk, while reducing significantly the size and the complexity of the network. In this sense our coarse graining allows us to approximate large networks by smaller ones, keeping most of their relevant spectral properties.  相似文献

复杂网络的同步作为一种重要的网络动态特性,在通信、控制、生物等领域起着重要的作用.谱粗粒化方法是一种在保持原始网络的同步能力尽量不变情况下将大规模网络约简为小规模网络的算法.此方法在对约简节点分类时是以每个节点对应特征向量分量间的绝对距离作为判断标准,在实际运算中计算量大,可执行性较差.本文提出了一种以特征向量分量间相对距离作为分类标准的谱粗粒化改进算法,能够使节点的合并更加合理,从而更好地保持原始网络的同步能力.通过经典的三种网络模型(BA无标度网络、ER随机网络、NW小世界网络)和27种不同类型实际网络的数值仿真分析表明,本文提出的算法对比原来的算法能够明显改善网络的粗粒化效果,并发现互联网、生物、社交、合作等具有明显聚类结构的网络在采用谱粗粒化算法约简后保持同步的能力要优于电力、化学等模糊聚类结构的网络.  相似文献

We intend to uncover generative principles for complex, biological systems, looking the reflections as well as the analogs of decision making property in quantum physics: measurement, self-interaction of the electron, Berry phase and quantum anomalies. We assume that classical analogs of the mentioned phenomena could be related to the evolvability, growing of complexity and decision making in biological systems. The reflection is a map (coarse graining) from microscopic motions to a macroscopic scale that relates with a free-energy cost and is often accompanied by the emergence of order-parameters. In this context we identify the self-reflection phenomenon, which is exemplified by cognition, information transfer near the error threshold, and tightly related evolution-ecology phenomena. We propose that complex systems that have similar reflection structure are to be described by similar mathematical tools including stochastic (information) thermodynamics and the large deviation theory. We introduce the concept of complexity engine: the group of two (or more) autonomous features of complex systems that are in a partial conflict with each other. Analogues of this are wave-particle duality in quantum mechanics and data-program duality in digital life. We formulate a fundamental problem: does the three-dimensional space provide a complexity engine for the emergence of life?  相似文献

We show that a dissipative current component is present in the dynamics generated by a Liouville-master equation, in addition to the usual component associated with Hamiltonian evolution. The dissipative component originates from coarse graining in time, implicit in a master equation, and needs to be included to preserve current continuity. We derive an explicit expression for the dissipative current in the context of the Markov approximation. Finally, we illustrate our approach with a simple numerical example, in which a quantum particle is coupled to a harmonic phonon bath and dissipation is described by the Pauli master equation.  相似文献

Models of nonequilibrium quantum transport underpin all modern electronic devices, from the largest scales to the smallest. Past simplifications such as coarse graining and bulk self-averaging served well to understand electronic materials. Such particular notions become inapplicable at mesoscopic dimensions, edging towards the truly quantum regime. Nevertheless a unifying thread continues to run through transport physics, animating the design of small-scale electronic technology: microscopic conservation and nonequilibrium dissipation. These fundamentals are inherent in quantum transport and gain even greater and more explicit experimental meaning in the passage to atomic-sized devices. We review their genesis, their theoretical context, and their governing role in the electronic response of meso- and nanoscopic systems.  相似文献

We discuss various basic conceptual issues related to coarse graining flows in quantum gravity. In particular, the requirement of background independence is shown to lead to renormalization group (RG) flows which are significantly different from their analogs on a rigid background spacetime. The importance of these findings for the asymptotic safety approach to Quantum Einstein Gravity (QEG) is demonstrated in a simplified setting where only the conformal factor is quantized. We identify background independence as a (the?) key prerequisite for the existence of a non-Gaussian RG fixed point and the renormalizability of QEG.  相似文献

The Vlasov equation is analyzed for coarse-grained distributions resembling a finite width of test particles as used in numerical implementations. It is shown that this coarse-grained distribution obeys a kinetic equation similar to the Vlasov equation, but with additional terms. These terms give rise to entropy production indicating dissipative features due to a nonlinear mode coupling. The interchange of coarse graining and dynamical evolution is discussed with the help of an exactly solvable model for the self-consistent Vlasov equation and practical consequences are worked out. By calculating analytically the stationary solution of a general Vlasov equation we can show that a sum of modified Boltzmann-like distributions is approached dependent on the initial distribution. This behavior is independent of degeneracy and only controlled by the width of test particles. The condition for approaching a stationary solution is derived and it is found that the coarse graining energy given by the momentum width of test particles should be smaller than a quarter of the kinetic energy. Observable consequences of this coarse graining are: (i) spatial correlations in observables, (ii) too large radii of clusters or nuclei in self-consistent Thomas–Fermi treatments, (iii) a structure term in the response function resembling vertex correction correlations or internal structure effects and (iv) a modified centroid energy and higher damping width of collective modes.  相似文献

A generalization of matrix product states (MPS) for interacting quantum systems in two and three dimensions is introduced. These scale-renormalized matrix-product states (SR-MPS) are based on a coarse graining of the lattice in which the blocks at each level are associated with matrix products that are further transformed (scale renormalized) with other matrices before they are assembled to form blocks at the next level. Using the two-dimensional transverse-field Ising model as a test, it is shown that the SR-MPS converge much more rapidly with the matrix size than a standard MPS. It is also shown that the use of lattice symmetries speeds up the convergence very significantly.  相似文献

The microscopic transition rate is briefly calculated from quantum principles to derive the microscopic master equation. By introducing p, the phenomenological time, and coarse graining Wp, the transition rate, a complete normalized phenomenological transition rate is obtained.
