PERMANENCE OF A NONLINEAR PERIODIC PREDATOR-PREY SYSTEM WITH PREY DISPERSAL AND PREDATOR DENSITY-INDEPENDENCE

In this paper,a set of suffcient conditions which ensure the permanence of a nonlinear periodic predator-prey system with prey dispersal and predator density-independence are obtained,where the prey species can disperse among n patches,while the density-independent predator is confined to one of the patches and cannot disperse. Our results generalize some known results.     

SOLUTION WITH SHOCK-BOUNDARY LAYER AND SHOCK-INTERIOR LAYER TO A CLASS OF NONLINEAR PROBLEMS

In this paper,the shock behaviors of solution to a class of nonlinear singularly perturbed problems are considered.Under some appropriate conditions,the outer and interior solutions to the original problem are constructed.Using the special limit and matching theory,the expressions of solutions with the shock behavior near the boundary and some interior points are given and the domain for boundary values is obtained.     

Stability of planar diffusion wave for nonlinear evolution equation

It is known that the one-dimensional nonlinear heat equation ut = f(u)x1x1,f’(u) > 0,u(±∞,t) = u±,u+ = u_ has a unique self-similar solution u(x1/1+t).In multi-dimensional space,u(x1/1+t) is called a planar diffusion wave.In the first part of the present paper,it is shown that under some smallness conditions,such a planar diffusion wave is nonlinearly stable for the nonlinear heat equation:ut-△f(u) = 0,x ∈ Rn.The optimal time decay rate is obtained.In the second part of this paper,it is further shown that this planar diffusion wave is still nonlinearly stable for the quasilinear wave equation with damping:utt + utt+ △f(u) = 0,x ∈ Rn.The time decay rate is also obtained.The proofs are given by an elementary energy method.     

两参数非线性反应扩散积分微分方程的内层激波渐近解

研究了一类两参数非线性反应扩散积分微分奇摄动问题.利用奇摄动方法,构造了问题的外部解、内部激波层、边界层及初始层校正项,由此得到了问题解的形式渐近展开式.最后利用积分微分方程的比较定理证明了该问题解的渐近展开式的一致有效性.     

NOTE ON AN OPEN PROBLEM OF HIGHER ORDER NONLINEAR EVOLUTION EQUATIONS

In view of a new idea on initial conditions,an open problem of nonlinear evolution equations with higher order,which was given by J.L.Lions,is solved.Effect of our results is shown on an example.

A Remark on Persistence of Regularity for the Nonlinear Boussinesq System in Dimension Two

This paper investigates the Cauchy problem for the nonlinear Boussinesq system in dimension two, and prove that for any initial data(u_0, θ_0) in H~(1+s)×H~(1+s), where s ∈(0, 1),the persistence of regularity holds.     

Stability of planar diffusion wave for the quasilinear wave equation with nonlinear damping

In this paper, we will show that under some smallness conditions, the planar diffusion wave v(√x11+) is stable for a quasilinear wave equation with nonlinear damping: vttt-f(v) + vt + g(vt) = 0, x =(xn1, x2,, xn)∈ R, where v(√x11+) is the unique similar solution to the one dimensional nonlinear heat equattion: vt-f(v)x1x1= 0, f ′(v) > 0, v(±∞, t) = v±, v+ = v-. We also obtain the L∞ time decay rate which rreads v-v L∞= O(1)(1 + t)-4, where r = min{3, n}. To get the main result, the energy method and a new inequality have been used.

This paper is devoted to study the following the singularly perturbed fourth-order ordinary differential equation ∈y（4） =f（t,y＇,y＇＇,y＇＇＇）,0t1,0ε1 with the nonlinear boundary conditions y（0）=y＇（1）=0,p（y＇＇（0）,y＇＇＇（0））=0,q（y＇＇（1）,y＇＇＇（1））=0 where f：[0,1]×R3→R is continuous,p,q：R2→R are continuous.Under certain conditions,by introducing an appropriate stretching transformation and constructing boundary layer corrective terms,an asymptotic expansion for the solution of the problem is obtained.And then the uniformly validity of solution is proved by using the differential inequalities.

In this paper,we prove the existence and uniqueness of the local generalized solution of the Cauchy problem for a class of nonlinear hyperbolic equation of higher order are proved.Moreover,we give the sufficient conditions for blow-up of the solution of the problem in finite time will be given.

In this paper, we discuss the existence of weak solutions to the initial and boundary value problem of a class of nonlinear degenerate parabolic equations in non-divergence form. Applying the method of parabolic regularization, we prove the existence of weak solutions to the problem. By carefully analyzing the approximate solutions to the problem, we make a series of estimates to the solutions and prove the weak convergence of the approximation solution sequence. Finally we testify the existence of weak solutions to the problem.     

Solvability of nonlinear elliptic boundary value problem via its associated linear problem

We investigate the existence of solutions of a nonlinear elliptic boundary value problem at resonance. Under the condition that the associated linear boundary value problem has no sign-changing solution or nontrivial solution and some other additional conditions, we prove the existence of solutions or nontrivial (even multiple) solutions to the nonlinear problem. Thus the existence of solutions can be obtained when the nonlinearity may cross any finite number of eigenvalues of the linear problem.

主要研究平衡问题解的存在性.通过对目标函数和可行集合的渐近分析,给出拟单调平衡问题解集非空的条件.进而用类似的方法研究了向量平衡问题解存在的条件,并将其应用到向量优化问题上.     

Analysis of nonlinear BVPs motivated by fluid film flow over a surface

We study a coupled nonlinear boundary value problem which has been shown to have applications to fluid flow and heat transfer in a fluid film over a stretching surface for set values of the model parameters (one of which determines the size of the problem domain). For arbitrary values of these parameters we are able to establish the existence and uniqueness of a class of monotone solutions. Perturbation solutions are then constructed and used to approximate certain invariants for the solutions. We then study a related boundary value problem formed by imposing an additional boundary condition on one of the governing equations (which results in an ill-posed problem), and we arrive at conditions allowing for solutions to this four-parameter problem to agree with the solutions to the three-parameter problem.     

Global solutions for initial-boundary value problem of quasilinear wave equations

This work investigates the existence of globally Lipschitz continuous solutions to a class of initial-boundary value problem of quasilinear wave equations. Applying the Lax's method and generalized Glimm's method, we construct the approximate solutions of initial-boundary Riemann problem near the boundary layer and perturbed Riemann problem away from the boundary layer. By showing the weak convergence of residuals for the approximate solutions, we establish the global existence for the derivatives of solutions and obtain the existence of global Lipschitz continuous solutions of the problem.     

On an Alternative Parameterization of the Solutions of the Partial Realization Problem

The solutions of the partial realization problem have to satisfy a finite number of interpolation conditions at . The minimal degree of an interpolating deterministic system is called the algebraic degree or McMillan degree of the partial covariance sequence and is easy to compute. The solutions of the partial stochastic realization problem have to satisfy the same interpolation conditions and have to fulfill a positive realness constraint. The minimal degree of a stochastic realization is called the positive degree. In the literature, solutions of the partial realization problem are parameterized by the Kimura–Georgiou parameterization. Solutions of the partial stochastic realization problem are then obtained by checking the positive realness constraint for the interpolating solutions of the corresponding partial realization problem. In this paper, an alternative parameterization is developed for the solutions of the partial realization problems. Both the solutions of the partial and partial stochastic realization problem are analyzed in this parameterization, while the main concerns are the minimality and the uniqueness of the solutions. Based on the structure of the parameterization, a lower bound for the positive degree is derived.     

Study of weak solutions for a fourth-order parabolic equation with variable exponent of nonlinearity

The aim of this paper is to study the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions for an initial boundary problem of a fourth-order parabolic equation with variable exponent of nonlinearity. First, the authors of this paper apply Leray-Schauder’s fixed point theorem to prove the existence of solutions of the corresponding nonlinear elliptic problem and then obtain the existence of weak solutions of nonlinear parabolic problem by combining the results of the elliptic problem with Rothe’s method. In addition, the authors also discuss the regularity of weak solutions in the case of space dimension one.     

On the uniqueness of the solution of nonlinear differential-algebraic systems

We consider the Cauchy problem for a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations unsolved for the derivative of the unknown vector function and identically degenerate in the domain. We prove a theorem on the coincidence of two smooth solutions of the considered problem. We show that, under some additional assumptions, the above-mentioned problem cannot have classical solutions with less smoothness. We obtain conditions under which the problem has a fixed finite number of solutions.     

Connectedness of the sets of weak efficient solutions for generalized vector equilibrium problems

In this paper, a generalized vector equilibrium problem is introduced and studied. A scalar characterization of weak efficient solutions for the generalized vector equilibrium problem is obtained. By using the scalarization result, the existence of the weak efficient solutions and the connectedness of the set of weak efficient solutions for the generalized vector equilibrium problem are proved in locally convex spaces.
