The substructure associated with the doublet ESR spectrum of the acetaldehyde radical cation in Freon matrices below 100 K is shown to arise from a matrix interaction and not, as previously proposed, from coupling to the hydrogens of the methyl group. Since the reversible loss of this substructure at higher temperature is accompanied by almost no change in the large isotropic 1H coupling(136 G) to the aldehydic hydrogen, the matrix perturbation appears to have a negligible effect on the spin distribution in the radical cation and is according interpreted as a superhyperfine interaction  相似文献

Methyl and ethyl derivatives of thiobenzothiazole and their quaternary salts were prepared by the sealed glass tube method. Azinodibenzothiazoles were oxidized by lead(IV) acetate, giving cation radical salts with the boron tetrafluoride anion moiety. The well-resolved esr spectra observed were analyzed by comparing the data with those of a deuteriomethylated radical and with those from the MO calculations. Spin density distribution was consistently determined by computer simulation, including almost the same unpaired electron distribution on the four nitrogen atoms.  相似文献

This work reports ESR studies that identify the favored site of deprotonation of the guanine cation radical (G*+) in an aqueous medium at 77 K. Using ESR and UV-visible spectroscopy, one-electron oxidized guanine is investigated in frozen aqueous D2O solutions of 2'-deoxyguanosine (dGuo) at low temperatures at various pHs at which the guanine cation radical, G*+ (pH 3-5), singly deprotonated species, G(-H)* (pH 7-9), and doubly deprotonated species, G(-2H)*- (pH > 11), are found. C-8-deuteration of dGuo to give 8-D-dGuo removes the major proton hyperfine coupling at C-8. This isolates the anisotropic nitrogen couplings for each of the three species and aids our analyses. These anisotropic nitrogen couplings were assigned to specific nitrogen sites by use of 15N-substituted derivatives at N1, N2, and N3 atoms in dGuo. Both ESR and UV-visible spectra are reported for each of the species: G*+, G(-H)*, and G(-2H)*-. The experimental anisotropic ESR hyperfine couplings are compared to those obtained from DFT calculations for the various tautomers of G(-H)*. Using the B3LYP/6-31G(d) method, the geometries and energies of G*+ and its singly deprotonated state in its two tautomeric forms, G(N1-H)* and G(N2-H)*, were investigated. In a nonhydrated state, G(N2-H)* is found to be more stable than G(N1-H)*, but on hydration with seven water molecules G(N1-H)* is found to be more stable than G(N2-H)*. The theoretically calculated hyperfine coupling constants (HFCCs) of G*+, G(N1-H)*, and G(-2H)*- match the experimentally observed HFCCs best on hydration with seven or more waters. For G(-2H)*-, the hyperfine coupling constant (HFCC) at the exocyclic nitrogen atom (N2) is especially sensitive to the number of hydrating water molecules; good agreement with experiment is not obtained until nine or 10 waters of hydration are included.  相似文献

The kinetics of hydrogen abstraction from hydrocarbons by the air-stable perfluoroacetyldiisopropylmethyl radical was studied by ESR, and a reaction mechanism was proposed. The degree of delocalization of the unpaired electron in the model C(5)F3−C(1)·[C(2)(O(4))C(3)F3]C(6)F3 radical was calculated by the MNDO/PM3 method in the UHF approximation. The ESR spectrum of polyamide VI has been analysed and the rate constant of free radical decay was determined over a wide range of pressure (1–16,000 atm) and temperature (80–120°). It appeared that the rate constant of decay decreased with increasing pressure. The ESR spectrum consisted of three component spectra, the proportions of which determined the shape of the overall spectrum for various conditions.  相似文献

Bis-iminophosphoranes containing various types of linkers between two R3P==N moieties were electrochemically oxidized at controlled potential in situ in the electron spin resonance (ESR) cavity. For linkers constituted of phenylenes, conjugated phenylenes or merely a dicyanoethylenic bond, this oxidation led to well-resolved ESR spectra which were characterized by their g values and by their 1H, 14N and 31P isotropic hyperfine constants. These coupling constants agree with those calculated by DFT for the corresponding cation radicals. Experimental and theoretical results clearly indicate that in these species the unpaired electron is mostly delocalized on the bridge and on the nitrogen atoms while the spin density on the phosphorus atoms is particularly small. Cyclic voltammetry and ESR spectra show that the nature of the bridge between the two iminophosphoranes considerably influences the oxidation potential of the compound as well as the stability of the radical cation. Information about the conformation of the precursor containing two Ph3P==N moieties separated by a --C(CN)==C(CN)--group was obtained from its crystal structure.  相似文献

The formation of the compound RSnX(acac)2 (acac = 2,4-pentanedionato) by reaction of bis(2,4-pentanedionato)tin(II) on a halide RX with R = CH3, C2H5, C4H9, C6H5, CH2I, (C6H5)3SnCH2, (C2H5)3SnCH2 and X = I, Br has been studied by polarography. At 25°C, it is in fact an equilibrium whose constant has been measured. The intermediate formation of the ion-pair [RSn(acac)2+X?] has allowed us to explain the experimental results.  相似文献

The results of ESR spectroscopic studies of radical reactions of fullerenes are presented. Reactivities of radicals of various chemical natures with respect to C60 and C70, delocalization of the unpaired electron in monofullerenyl radicals, and their reactivity are considered. The examples of dynamic effects in the ESR spectra of fullerenyl radicals, associated with the hindered rotation of the attached radicals, are presented. Several methods have been established for preparing cation radicals from 1,2,4,5-tetramethoxybenzene that allow highly resolved ESR spectra to be recorded. Precise values of the hyperfine coupling constants for the aromatic and methoxy protons have been obtained; the values are 0.2268±0.0004 and 0.0863±0.0002 mT, respectively, with dichloromethane as solvent. No temperature dependence is evident. TRIPLE resonance experiments showed that both coupling constants have the same sign. NMR experiments provided contact shift and line broadening measurements; these proved that both the above constants are positive and led to a value of 3.1 (±0.3)×108M?1 s?1 at 23°C for the rate constant for electron exchange between the cation radical and the parent compound.  相似文献

The ESR and ENDOR spectra of the radical cation of N,N′-bis-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-4-4′-bipyridylium dichloride (fluorophenylquat FPQ) in methanol was studied over a temperature range from +_40° to ?90°. The ENDOR technique was used to obtain accurately the splitting constans for a highly complicated ESR spectrum and computer simulation showed excellent agreement. Fluorine ENDOR resonance was clearly observed with a line width similar to that of the protons. On decreasing the temperature the concentration of the radical cation decreases until at ?90° the ESR intensity was very small. This process is reversible and concentration studies indicate that the radical cation is in equilibrium with a diamagnetic dimer species. The thermodynamic parameters ΔH°, ΔG° and ΔS° for the process are reported.  相似文献

The EPR parameters of the phenothiazine cation radical (PTAZ+) have been determined with the sample in the form of a power and in sulphuric solution. The study of the solution at different temperatures in the 77–333 K range does not indicate conformational changes affecting the α proton, but shows a difference in g-values between the powder and the solution spectra. This variation can be interpreted as originated by changes in the molecular geometry of the cation ring system due to interactions with the solvent molecules.  相似文献

The EPR spectrum of alimemazine cation radicals (ALMZ+) in a perchlorate single crystal has been studied at 293 K. Since strong exchange interactions between the radicals did not allow the determination of the hyperfine splitting constants, the spectrum of an ALMZ+ solution, frozen at 77 K, was also studied. The results, checked by computer simulation, indicate orthorhombic symmetry of the g(2.0075, 2.0059, 2.0023) and hfs (A=3.6G; A=2.0G; A=15.6G) tensors.  相似文献

The resolved optically detected electron spin resonance (OD ESR) spectrum for cis-decalin radical cations has been taken in dilute solutions of cis-decalin and naphthalene in liquid 3-methylpentane at 140 K. A similar spectrum has been observed in the glassy solution of 10−3 M naphthalene in cis-decalin. This spectrum is associated with the signals from stabilized radical cations of the solvent, cis-decalin.  相似文献
