We test a new four-qubit entangled state by the former Bell-like inequalities and find that it violates these inequalities, but not maximally. According to this entangled state, we build a new Bell-like inequality, which is violated by this new state maximally. We also determine the nonlocality of some other four-qubit states by the new inequality. It is found that the new inequality acts as a strong entanglement witness for the new state. This can be used to test new entangled states experimentally.  相似文献

We introduce inequalities for multipartite entanglement, derived from the geometry of spin vectors. The criteria are constructed iteratively from cross and dot products between the spins of individual subsystems, each of which may have arbitrary dimension. For qubit ensembles the maximum violation for our inequalities is larger than that for the Mermin-Klyshko Bell inequalities, and the maximally violating states are different from Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states. Our inequalities are violated by certain bound entangled states for which no Bell-type violation has yet been found.  相似文献

We derive N-particle Bell-type inequalities under the assumption of partial separability, i.e., that the N-particle system is composed of subsystems which may be correlated in any way (e.g., entangled) but which are uncorrelated with respect to each other. These inequalities provide, upon violation, experi-mentally accessible sufficient conditions for full N-particle entanglement, i.e., for N-particle entanglement that cannot be reduced to mixtures of states in which a smaller number of particles are entangled. The inequalities are shown to be maximally violated by the N-particle Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states.  相似文献

In this paper, a Bell inequality is given to study the nonlocality of four-qubit states. It is shown that the inequality is maximally violated by the four-qubit state |ψ〉. Some other states, such as the state |χ〉, the cluster state, violate this inequality, too, but not maximally. And it is not violated by the four-qubit GHZ state. In addition, the state |ψ〉 also violates other bell inequalities, but not so optimally. Therefore the inequality can detect the entanglement of |ψ〉 well, experimentally.  相似文献

We show that the rich structure of multipartite entanglement can be tested following a device-independent approach. Specifically we present Bell inequalities for distinguishing between different types of multipartite entanglement, without placing any assumptions on the measurement devices used in the protocol, in contrast with usual entanglement witnesses. We first address the case of three qubits and present Bell inequalities that can be violated by W states but not by Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states, and vice versa. Next, we devise 'subcorrelation Bell inequalities' for any number of parties, which can provably not be violated by a broad class of multipartite entangled states (generalizations of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states), but for which violations can be obtained for W states. Our results give insight into the nonlocality of W states. The simplicity and robustness of our tests make them appealing for experiments.

We use concurrence to study bipartite entanglement, Meyer-Wallach measure and its generalizations to study multi-partite entanglement and MABK and SASA inequalities to study the non-local properties of the 4-qubit entangled graph states, quantitatively. Then, we present 3 classifications, each one in accordance with one of the aforementioned properties. We also observe that the classification according to multipartite entanglement does exactly coincide with that according to nonlocal properties, but does not match with that according to bipartite entanglement. This observation signifies the fact that non-locality and multipartite entanglement enjoy the same basic underlying principles, while bipartite entanglement may not reveal the non-locality issue in its entirety.  相似文献

Cluster states are a new type of multiqubit entangled states with entanglement properties exceptionally well suited for quantum computation. In the present work, we experimentally demonstrate that correlations in a four-qubit linear cluster state cannot be described by local realism. This exploration is based on a recently derived Bell-type inequality [V. Scarani et al., Phys. Rev. A 71, 042325 (2005)] which is tailored, by using a combination of three- and four-particle correlations, to be maximally violated by cluster states but not violated at all by GHZ states. We observe a cluster-state Bell parameter of 2.59+/-0.08, which is more than 7sigma larger than the threshold of 2 imposed by local realism.  相似文献

We study the Bell's inequality and multipartite entanglement generation for initially maximally entangled states of free Dirac field in a non inertial frame and asymptotically flat Robertson–Walker space-time.For two qubit case,we show that the Bell's inequality always is violated as measured by the accelerated observers which are in the causally connected regions. On the other hand, for those observers in the causally disconnected regions inequality is not violated for any values of acceleration. The generated three qubit state from two qubit state due to acceleration of one parties has a zero 3-tangle.For a three qubit state, the inequality violated for measurements done by both causally connected and disconnected observers.Initially GHZ state with non zero 3-tangle,in accelerated frame, transformed to a four qubit state with vanishing 4-tangle value. On the other hand, for a W-state with zero 3-tangle,in non inertial frame, transformed to a four qubit state with a non-zero 4-tangle acceleration dependent. In an expanding space-time with asymptotically flat regions, for an initially maximally entangled state, the maximum value of violation of Bell's inequality in the far past decreased in the far future due to cosmological particle creation. For some initially maximally entangled states, the generated four qubit state due to expansion of space-time,has non vanishing 4-tangle.  相似文献

In this Letter, we show that the fulfillment of uncertainty relations is a sufficient criterion for a quantum-mechanically permissible state. We specifically construct two pseudospin observables for an arbitrary nonpositive Hermitian matrix whose uncertainty relation is violated. This method enables us to systematically derive separability conditions for all negative partial-transpose states in experimentally accessible forms. In particular, generalized entanglement criteria are derived from the Schr?dinger-Robertson inequalities for bipartite continuous-variable states.  相似文献

In this review, we introduce some methods for detecting or measuring entanglement. Several nonlinear entanglement witnesses are presented. We derive a series of Bell inequalities whose maximally violations for any multipartite qubit states can be calculated by using our formulas. Both the nonlinear entanglement witnesses and the Bell inequalities can be operated experimentally. Thus they supply an effective way for detecting entanglement. We also introduce some experimental methods to measure the entanglement of formation, and the lower bound of the convex-roof extension of negativity.  相似文献

In this paper we obtain violations of general bipartite Bell inequalities of order \({\frac{\sqrt{n}}{\log n}}\) with n inputs, n outputs and n-dimensional Hilbert spaces. Moreover, we construct explicitly, up to a random choice of signs, all the elements involved in such violations: the coefficients of the Bell inequalities, POVMs measurements and quantum states. Analyzing this construction we find that, even though entanglement is necessary to obtain violation of Bell inequalities, the entropy of entanglement of the underlying state is essentially irrelevant in obtaining large violation. We also indicate why the maximally entangled state is a rather poor candidate in producing large violations with arbitrary coefficients. However, we also show that for Bell inequalities with positive coefficients (in particular, games) the maximally entangled state achieves the largest violation up to a logarithmic factor.  相似文献

We study the two-body entanglement and mixture in a three-qubit XXZ spin chain in thermal equilibrium state at temperature T with an external magnetic field B. The effects of the magnetic field, the anisotropy and the temperature on the entanglement and mixture are considered. We show that the ground states in this system are fully characterized and distinguished by both entanglement and mixture. Thermal entanglement versus the mixture of all two-spin states is investigated. All pairwise states provide an upper bound on the entanglement for a fixed mixture, and some part of the boundary reaches the boundary allowed by physics. As a result, maximally entangled mixed states can be generated by controlling magnetic field and temperature. Especially, in the ground state of the whole system, the explicit forms of maximally entangled mixed states are given. The results provide a new way to generate maximally entangled mixed states and control entanglement.  相似文献

Aspects of Generic Entanglement   总被引:4,自引:4,他引:0
We study entanglement and other correlation properties of random states in high-dimensional bipartite systems. These correlations are quantified by parameters that are subject to the ``concentration of measure' phenomenon, meaning that on a large-probability set these parameters are close to their expectation. For the entropy of entanglement, this has the counterintuitive consequence that there exist large subspaces in which all pure states are close to maximally entangled. This, in turn, implies the existence of mixed states with entanglement of formation near that of a maximally entangled state, but with negligible quantum mutual information and, therefore, negligible distillable entanglement, secret key, and common randomness. It also implies a very strong locking effect for the entanglement of formation: its value can jump from maximal to near zero by tracing over a number of qubits negligible compared to the size of the total system. Furthermore, such properties are generic. Similar phenomena are observed for random multiparty states, leading us to speculate on the possibility that the theory of entanglement is much simplified when restricted to asymptotically generic states. Further consequences of our results include a complete derandomization of the protocol for universal superdense coding of quantum states.  相似文献

We directly introduce a Bell-type inequality for four-qubit systems. Using the inequality we investigate quantum nonlocality of a generic family of states |Gabcd[Phys. Rev. A 65 052112(2002)] and several canonical four-qubit entangled states. It has been demonstrated that the inequality is maximally violated by the so called "four-qubit the maximally entangled state |Gm" and it is also violated by four-qubit W state and a special family of states |Gab00. Moreover, a useful entanglement-nonlocality relationship for the family of states |Gab00is derived. Finally, we present a scheme of preparation of the state |Gmwith linear optics and cross-Kerr nonlinearities.  相似文献

Maximally entangled states, defined as those states that have the maximal entanglement of formation under some entanglement measure, are the ideal resource for many quantum missions. In this paper, we call a convex roof of maximally entangled pure states a quasi maximally entangled state. First, we present the concept of a witness for non-quasi maximally entangled states, which is an observable that can distinguish some non-quasi maximally entangled states from quasi maximally entangled ones. Then we prove that every non-quasi maximally entangled state can be witnessed by a witness and obtain some necessary and sufficient conditions for an observable to be a witness for non-quasi maximally entangled states. Lastly, we give some classes of Hermitian operators, which can become witnesses. Especially, we compute non-quasi maximally entangled states that can be detected by a specific product operator.  相似文献

We investigate which entanglement resources allow universal measurement-based quantum computation via single-qubit operations. We find that any entanglement feature exhibited by the 2D cluster state must also be present in any other universal resource. We obtain a powerful criterion to assess the universality of graph states by introducing an entanglement measure which necessarily grows unboundedly with the system size for all universal resource states. Furthermore, we prove that graph states associated with 2D lattices such as the hexagonal and triangular lattice are universal, and obtain the first example of a universal nongraph state.  相似文献

A detailed investigation of entanglement in the generalized two-dimensional nonorthogonal states, which are expressed in the framework of superposed coherent states, is presented. In addition to quantifying entanglement of the generalized two-dimensional coherent states superposition, necessary and sufficient conditions for maximality of entanglement of these states are found. We show that a large class of maximally entangled coherent states can be constructed, and hence, some new maximally entangled coherent states are explicitly manipulated. The investigation is extended to the mixed system states and entanglement properties of such mixed states are investigated. It is shown that in some cases maximally entangled mixed states can be detected. Furthermore, the effect of decoherence, due to both cavity losses and noisy channel process, on such entangled states are studied and its features are discussed.  相似文献

We present entanglement witness operators for detecting genuine multipartite entanglement. These witnesses are robust against noise and require only two local measurement settings when used in an experiment, independent of the number of qubits. This allows detection of entanglement for an increasing number of parties without a corresponding increase in effort. The witnesses presented detect states close to Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger, cluster, and graph states. Connections to Bell inequalities are also discussed.  相似文献

Graph states are special multipartite entangled states that have been proven useful in a variety of quantum information tasks. We address the issue of characterizing and quantifying the genuine multipartite entanglement of graph states up to eight qubits. The entanglement measures used are the geometric measure, the relative entropy of entanglement, and the logarithmic robustness, have been proved to be equal for the genuine entanglement of a graph state. We provide upper and lower bounds as well as an iterative algorithm to determine the genuine multipartite entanglement.  相似文献
