The paper reports on a study to investigate the influence of load intensity and material structure on statistical regularities of fragmentation in ZrO2-based ceramics differing in porosity. The study was performed on a modified split Hopkinson pressure bar system and allowed a comparative analysis of dynamic stress-strain curves and statistical characteristics of fragmentation such as distributions of emitted light pulses (fractoluminescence) and fragment sizes. It is shown that increasing the ceramic porosity changes both the form of stress-strain curves and the pulse distribution. In ceramic specimens with up to 45% porosity, the pulse distribution is described by a bimodal power law; in ceramic specimens with 60% porosity, by a power law. The fragment size distribution in the material corresponds to a power law with the exponent dependent on porosity and load intensity.  相似文献

Some models for binary fragmentation are introduced in which a time dependent transition size produces two regions of fragment sizes above and below the transition size. In the first model we assume a fixed rate of fragmentation for the largest fragment and two different rates of fragmentation in the two regions of sizes above and below the transition size. The model is solved exactly in the long time limit to reveal stable time-invariant solutions for the fragment size and mass distributions. These solutions exhibit composite power law behaviours; power laws with two different exponents for fragments in smaller and larger regions. A special case of the model with no fragmentation in the smaller size region is also examined. Another model is also introduced which have three regions of fragment sizes with different rates of fragmentation. The similarities between the stable distributions in our models and composite power law distributions from experimental work on shock fragmentation of long thin glass rods and thick clay plates are discussed.  相似文献

The effect of the diameter of shells of structural steel 45Cr on the parameters of the cumulative numerical distribution of fragments by mass and the cumulative mass distribution of fragments by length has been studied. It is found that the statistical fragment distributions by mass for shells of different diameters are described well by exponential relation, whereas the cumulative mass distributions of fragments by length are described by power functions. The exponents in these relations depend on the shell diameter. Plotting the cumulative mass distribution of fragments by length allows one to relate the mechanisms of dynamic fracture with fragmentation regimes, which differ in the parameters of the power relation characterizing the formation of fragments of the basic spectrum.  相似文献

金属丝阵Z箍缩(Z-pinch)内爆是产生强x射线辐射的重要方法之一.在一定脉冲功率加速器条件下,金属丝阵质量和丝阵半径的选择决定了Z-pinch内爆等离子体辐射产额的大小.采用薄壳模型计算了不同丝阵质量、不同丝阵半径、不同粗细和不同材料金属丝构成的丝阵的内爆时间、内爆轨迹、内爆速度,以及最大动能和动能转换率,综合分析了丝间隙、内爆时间、动能转换率与丝阵质量和丝阵半径的关系,给出了在一定负载驱动电流条件下,金属丝阵的最佳参数.分析表明计算结果与实验上观察得到的内爆规律一致. 关键词: Z-pinch内爆等离子体 金属丝阵负载 薄壳模型  相似文献

Using molecular-dynamics simulation, we study the explosive boiling of thin liquid-argon films adsorbed on a metal surface. This process might be induced by heating the metal substrate by an ultra-fast laser. Upon sudden heating of the metal to temperatures well beyond the critical temperature of Ar, the film starts boiling. While thin films, with thickness below seven monolayers, fragment completely, in larger films only the near-surface Ar layers vaporize. The resulting vapor pressure drives the expansion of the remaining liquid overlayers. By monitoring the space and time dependence of the hydrodynamic variables density, pressure, and temperature, as well as the local thermodynamic state in the Ar sample, we obtain a detailed microscopic picture of the explosive boiling process. Finally, as a result of the fragmentation process, the abundance distribution of the clusters formed in the expansion follows a power-law distribution for cluster sizes m ≲ 10.  相似文献

We present a theoretical and experimental study of the fragmentation of closed thin shells made of a disordered brittle material. Experiments were performed on brown and white hen egg shells under two different loading conditions: impact with a hard wall and explosion by a combustible mixture. Both give rise to power law fragment size distributions. A three-dimensional discrete element model of shells is worked out. Based on simulations of the model, we give evidence that power law fragment mass distributions arise due to an underlying phase transition which proved to be abrupt for explosion and continuous for impact. We demonstrate that the fragmentation of closed shells defines a new universality class of fragmentation phenomena.  相似文献

We consider steady-state mass distributions (mass functions) attained at the nonlinear stage of fragmentation as a result of fragment coalescence. The influence of the fragment velocity distribution on the mass function is discussed. The kinetic equations governing the fragments quasiparticles are solved using the group symmetry properties of the collision integral. We have calculated power indices and locations of the breaking points for the mss spectrum (luminosity function) associated with the transition from the collisionless Lynden-Bell type to the Maxwellian distribution, as well as with the predominance of either purely geometric or Newtonian collision cross sections. The power indices found are in a reasonable agreement with the values observed for star or galaxy clusters.  相似文献

基于X-pinch软X射线辐射点源对直径10μm钨丝单丝以及8μm钨丝双丝电爆发展过程进行了背光成像研究,实验平台为清华大学电机系研制的脉冲功率装置PPG-1(500kV/400kA/100ns)。成像光路安排为:作为X射线源的X-pinch和作为目标物的钨丝分别安装在装置的输出主电极阴阳极之间和回流导电杆处,成像胶片采用高分辨率、高灵敏度的X光胶片。利用自行设计的电流传感器和罗氏线圈对目标物实际流过的电流进行监测,从而计算得8μm钨丝丝爆过程中电导随时间变化的曲线。为了观测电爆金属丝质量密度分布的演变过程,设计了μm级厚度的阶梯光楔。通过大量成像实验,获取了丝芯膨胀、晕层等离子体形成及其向外扩张等过程的相关物理图像以及基于原始胶片绘制的质量密度分布图。  相似文献

The phenomenon of exploding wire has been investigated in the energy range E < Ee to E > a few Ee, where Ee is the energy density required for complete evaporation of the wire. For E < Ee, macroscopic fragmentation (size ~ tens of micrometers) of wire takes place. As E is increased above Ee, the fragment size tends to atomic dimensions, and for E >> Ee explosive vaporization occurs resulting in high-temperature plasma. The study indicates that during the explosion, plasma is in a nonequilibrium state with temperatures as high as 10 eV or more. This plasma attains equilibrium in tens of nanoseconds. The free-expansion velocity of this plasma is of the order 105-106 cm/s and increases with increasing E. Consequently, the plasma density decreases for E >> Ee. After about 100 ns, the resulting plasma densities are in the region of 1018-1020 cm-3. Such plasmas have significant interest in the development of particle beams, laser, and fast switching systems.  相似文献

Films of the molecular nanomagnet, Mn12-acetate, have been deposited using pulsed laser deposition and its novel variant, matrix assisted pulsed laser evaporation. The films have been characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and magnetic hysteresis. The results indicate that an increase in laser energy and/or pulse frequency leads to fragmentation of Mn12-acetate, whereas its chemical and magnetic integrity is preserved at low laser energy (200 mJ). This technique allows for the fabrication of patterned thin films of molecular nanomagnets for fundamental and applied experiments.  相似文献

金属丝电爆炸是获取金属纳米级粉粒的有效途径,电爆炸的演绎过程直接影响金属粉颗粒的尺度范围。采用纳秒级脉冲激光对爆炸过程的瞬态进行观察,以激光干涉条纹为背景,依据电爆炸过程中,对条纹的扰动获取具有清晰边缘的爆炸区图像;再根据激光穿过爆炸云团的透过率计算出不同时刻粉尘体浓度的三维分布图。测量结果表明:通电后0.5 μs,金属丝直径由0.3 mm扩展为4.7 mm, 直到18 μs时扩展为28 mm,而粒子的最大浓度由3×1021/cm3减小为1.1×1020/cm3。整个扩展过程中,粒子浓度沿径向呈现多个环带的分布形态。  相似文献

The stoichiometry of B–C thin films was controlled via pulsed laser deposition using a series of ceramic B–C targets (B/C ratio was 3.04–5.92). The effects of B/C ratio in target, laser power and substrate-to-target distance on deposition rate, microstructure, stoichiometry and chemical structure were investigated. The maximum deposition rate was obtained at laser power of 90 mJ and substrate-to-target distance of 50 mm. Boron rich B–C films were obtained and the stoichiometry in B–C thin films was controlled in the range 2.9–4.6. Carbon atoms were bonded with only sp3 hybridization when boron was rich,but with sp2 and sp3 hybridizations when carbon was rich.  相似文献

We present a brief overview of nuclear multifragmentation reaction. Basic formalism of canonical thermodynamical model based on equilibrium statistical mechanics is described. This model is used to calculate basic observables of nuclear multifragmentation like mass distribution, fragment multiplicity, isotopic distribution and isoscaling. Extension of canonical thermodynamical model to a projectile fragmentation model is outlined. Application of the projectile fragmentation model for calculating average number of intermediate mass fragments and the average size of the largest cluster at different Z bound, differential charge distribution and cross-section of neutron-rich nuclei of different projectile fragmentation reactions at different energies are described. Application of nuclear multifragmentation reaction in basic research as well as in other domains is outlined.  相似文献

We report the room temperature photoluminescence measurements of AlN thin films stimulated by above-band-gap pulsed light excitation. Two AlN thin films with different composition and structure were studied. One AlN film, prepared by pulsed laser deposition from sintered aluminum nitride ceramic target, contains oxide impurities. The other one, prepared by plasma assisted reactive pulsed laser deposition from pure aluminum metal target, is composed of pure AlN compound. Upon the irradiation of the samples by 193 nm excimer laser pulses, both the as-grown AlN thin films luminesce in the ultraviolet and the green regions, peaked at 440 and 400 nm, respectively. We also examined the time evolution of the luminescence and found that the entire broad luminescence band decays non-exponentially at approximately the same rate.  相似文献

介绍了一种X波段高峰值功率速调管的研制方案,目前该管在X波段已经实现脉冲输出功率50 MW,效率57%,脉宽达到3.6μs。通过COM法、圆波导行波窗、防晕环和陶瓷覆膜等关键技术的应用,解决了高效率、高峰值功率容量和高可靠性等难题。尤其是采用COM法优化电子注群聚,与采用二次谐波群聚法相比,在同样的高频管体长度下,可将互作用效率进一步提高10%左右。产品研制成功,将国内X波段速调管的功率水平由3 MW提升至50 MW,产品性能已达到国际先进水平。  相似文献

We present an experimental and theoretical study of the shape of fragments generated by explosive and impact loading of closed shells. Based on high speed imaging, we have determined the fragmentation mechanism of shells. Experiments have shown that the fragments vary from completely isotropic to highly anisotropic elongated shapes, depending on the microscopic cracking mechanism of the shell. Anisotropic fragments proved to have a self-affine character described by a scaling exponent. The distribution of fragment shapes exhibits a power-law decay. The robustness of the scaling laws is illustrated by a stochastic hierarchical model of fragmentation. Our results provide a possible improvement of the representation of fragment shapes in models of space debris.  相似文献

We present a modeling framework for 1D fragmentation in brittle rods, in which the distribution of fragments is written explicitly in terms of the probability of breaks along the length of the rod. This work is motivated by the experimental observation of several preferred lengths in the fragment distribution of shattered brittle rods after dynamic buckling [J.R. Gladden, N.Z. Handzy, A. Belmonte, E. Villermaux, Dynamic buckling and fragmentation in brittle rods, Phys. Rev. Lett. 94 (2005) 35503]. Our approach allows for non-constant spatial breaking probabilities, which can lead to preferred fragment sizes, derived equivalently from either combinatorics or a nonhomogeneous Poisson process. The resulting relation qualitatively matches the experimentally observed fragment distribution, as well as some other common distributions, such as a power law with a cutoff.  相似文献

We investigated the fragmentation of thin coatings on substrates under uniaxial tension. Theoretical models based on linear elasticity predict a power-law dependence of the mean fragment length < L> on the strain e to which the substrate is subjected: namely, one has <L> ∞? with α ≤ 1/2. Experimentally, such a relation is obeyed in the fragmentation of thin SiO x coatings on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates. In our experiments, we used brittle paints to coat rubber substrates: the ensuing mean fragment lengths also obey power laws in ?: we found, however, α = 0.71 ± 0.03. Such values of α can be reproduced theoretically by taking into account the nonlinearity of the coupling between coating and substrate.  相似文献
