The angular distributions for elastic scattering and breakup of halo nuclei are analysed using a near-side/far-side decomposition within the framework of the dynamical eikonal approximation. This analysis is performed for 11Be impinging on Pb at 69 MeV/nucleon. These distributions exhibit very similar features. In particular they are both near-side dominated, as expected from Coulomb-dominated reactions. The general shape of these distributions is sensitive mostly to the projectile-target interactions, but is also affected by the extension of the halo. This suggests the elastic scattering not to be affected by a loss of flux towards the breakup channel.  相似文献

Eikonal method is applied to investigate the quantum effects on elastic electron–ion collisions in a two-component plasma. An effective Kelbg potential model taking into account the classical effect as well as the quantum-mechanical effect is applied to describe the electron–ion interactions in a two-component plasma. The impact parameter method is applied to represent the path of the projectile electron in order to investigate the variation of the eikonal cross section as a function of the impact parameter, thermal de Broglie wavelength, and projectile energy. In the second-order eikonal approximation, the quantum effects significantly reduce the elastic electron–ion scattering cross section. It is also found that the second-order eikonal phase is caused by the pure quantum mechanical effects.  相似文献

We review recent developments in the application of eikonal methods to the field of electron and positron collisions with atoms. The foundations of the eikonal approximation are first analyzed within the framework of potential scattering, with particular attention to those aspects of the theory which can be generalized to atomic collision processes. We next discuss various many-body applications of the eikonal method, namely: the Glauber approximation, the eikonal-Born series method, optical model theories, the eikonal distorted wave method and the multistate eikonal approximation. We also analyze eikonal exchange amplitudes. Applications of these methods are then considered, first for the case of elastic scattering and then for various inelastic processes.  相似文献

Starting from a Watson-type multiple scattering series we study first-order corrections to the Glauber high-energy collision model. These are obtained by replacing the free-space Green function between successive scatterings by the second-order eikonal propagator. We distinguish between Fresnel corrections and eikonal-type corrections. Due to large cancellation effects the eikonal contribution is very small compared to the Fresnel contribution. First-order corrections to Glauber theory are calculated explicitly for high-energy elastic scattering of protons from light nuclei (4He, 12C, 16O).  相似文献

The quasi-elastic scattering angular distribution of the proton drip line nucleus 17F on a 12C target was measured at 60 MeV. The experimental data have been compared with the theoretical analysis based onto optical model and continuum discretized coupled channels (CDCC). The couplings between breakup and elastic scattering channels, and between inelastic and elastic scattering channels resulted very weak. In order to explore the breakup effects the total reaction cross-section was deduced from the angular distribution of the quasi-elastic scattering data, and then compared with the existing data for the other weakly and tightly bound nuclei on 12C target using a universal function. From this comparison, we concluded that the breakup effect is not important for weakly bound projectiles on the light target as obtained also with the CDCC analysis.  相似文献

A procedure of combining the medium energy scattering theory in the eikonal approximation with the interacting boson model (IBM) is proposed to study the pion-rotational nucleus scattering. The channel coupling effects in the excitation of nuclear collective state with π- and π+ elastic and inelastic scattering are analyzed. The calculated cross sections for the excitation of 21+ state of 152Sm agmree with the experimental data quite well.  相似文献

A unitarized eikonal model including semi-hard QCD effects is developed to explain the dominant features in elastic scattering and particle production, with special emphasis on the violations of KNO scaling and on the growth of forward-backward correlations. A quantitative agreement with existent data is achieved. Predictions are given for particle production and correlations at Tevatron and SSC energies.  相似文献

We extend a previously developed eikonal expansion method to the case of high-energy electron scattering from dynamic nuclei. Nuclear degrees of freedom can be included either by a DWBA-like expansion or by neglecting the nuclear excitation energies. The latter approach is considered in detail and applied to the elastic and inelastic scattering from deformed nuclei. The impact parameterT-matrix is calculated by diagonalizing the inelastic zeroth-order and first-order eikonal phases in the subspace of the nuclear rotational levels; static eikonal phases are included up to second order. For152Sm,154Sm coupled-channel calculations including three and four rotational states show large multi-step effects for the 0+→4+ and the 0+→6+ excitations compared to DWBA results.  相似文献

With an aim to understand the effects of breakup and transfer channels on elastic scattering and fusion cross-sections in the 7Li + 27Al reaction, simultaneous measurement of elastic scattering angular distributions and fusion cross-sections have been carried out at various energies (E lab?=?8.0–16.0 MeV) around the Coulomb barrier. Optical model (OM) analysis of the elastic scattering data does not show any threshold anomaly or breakup threshold anomaly behaviour in the energy dependence of the real and imaginary parts of the OM potential. Fusion cross-section at each bombarding energy is extracted from the measured α-particle evaporation energy spectra at backward angles by comparing with the statistical model prediction. Results on fusion cross-sections from the present measurements along with data from the literature have been compared with the coupled-channels predictions. Detailed coupled-channels calculations have been carried out to study the effect of coupling of breakup, inelastic and transfer, channels on elastic scattering and fusion. The effect of 1n-stripping transfer coupling was found to be significant compared to that of the projectile breakup couplings in the present system.  相似文献

The formalism and results of truncated coupled channels evaluations of three-body models of deutron-induced nuclear reactions are reviewed. Emphasis is placed on breakup, elastic scattering and stripping. The relations of the coupled channels method to the Faddeev method, the adiabatic approximation and the distorted wave Born approximation are discussed extensively. Although the adiabatic approximation is seen to be excellent for the wavefunction in the elastic channel, it significantly underestimates the contributions of breakup states in stripping. Significant effects are associated with coupling to relative l = 2 breakup states.  相似文献

The effect of deuteron breakup in d-nucleus reaction is treated with the continuum discretized coupled channels (CDCC) approach, and the effects on the total reaction cross sections and elastic scattering angular distributions are studied by comparing the calculations of CDCC and spherical optical model with our global deuteron optical potential [Phys. Rev. C 73 (2006) 054605] below 200 MeV, for target nuclei ranging from 12C to 208Pb. The contributions from the closed channels to the total reaction and breakup cross sections, and angular distributions of elastic scattering are also seriously discussed.  相似文献

The elastic scattering of 1 GeV protons from 4He is analysed, by taking into account the effects of nuclear correlation and the Wallace correction to the eikonal expansion. The value lc = 0.75 frmfm of the nuclear correlation length is obtained.  相似文献

By treating the static field of the atom exactly and using the eikonal wavefunction to bring in the couplings to all remaining atomic states, a simple formula for elastic scattering amplitude is derived. Its usefulness is demonstrated by applying it to electron—hydrogen scattering.  相似文献

Elastic scattering and inclusive breakup of 6Li particles on 12C, 58Ni, 90Zr, and 208Pb targets are measured at 100A MeV. The elastic scattering data are compared with single channel and Coupled Discretized Continuum Channels calculations. The coupling-effect between the elastic and the breakup channels is important even at an incident energy of 100A MeV and cannot be neglected. The inclusive breakup data are investigated for orbital dispersion effects which are found to be less significant at 100A MeV. The longitudinal momentum distributions are broader than predicted by theoretical expectations. Received: 17 December 1999 / Revised version: 9 February 2000  相似文献

The eikonal (high-energy) approximation of Yennie et al. for the scattering of electrons from nuclei has been extended to include the transverse interaction, and in particular the case of magnetic scattering. It is applied here to elastic magnetic scattering from 209Bi at 500 MeV as an example.  相似文献
