We define the notion of a hypercube structure on a functor between two commutative Picard categories which generalizes the notion of a cube structure on a Gm-torsor over an abelian scheme. We prove that the determinant functor of a relative scheme X/S of relative dimension n is canonically endowed with a (n+2)-cube structure. We use this result to define the intersection bundle IX/S(L1,…,Ln+1) of n+1 line bundles on X/S and to construct an additive structure on the functor IX/S:PIC(X/S)n+1PIC(S). Then, we construct the resultant of n+1 sections of n+1 line bundles on X, and the discriminant of a section of a line bundle on X. Finally we study the relationship between the cube structures on the determinant functor and on the discriminant functor, and we use it to prove a polarization formula for the discriminant functor.  相似文献

We show the stability of certain syzygies of line bundles oncurves, which we call line bundle transforms. Furthermore, weprove the existence of reducible theta divisors for the transformshaving integral slope. A line bundle transform is the kernelof the evaluation map on a subspace of the space of global sections.  相似文献

Some technical results on the deformations of varieties of general type and on permanence of semi-log-canonical singularities are proved. These results are applied to show that the connected component of the moduli space of stable surfaces containing the moduli point of a product of stable curves is the product of the moduli spaces of the curves, assuming the curves have different genera. An application of this result shows that even after compactifying the moduli space and fixing numerical invariants, the moduli spaces are still very disconnected.Received: 20 February 2004  相似文献

We prove a version of Grothendieck’s descent theorem on an ‘enriched’ principal fiber bundle, a principal fiber bundle with an action of a larger group scheme. Using this, we prove the isomorphisms of the equivariant Picard and the class groups arising from such a principal fiber bundle.  相似文献

We construct torus bundles over locally symmetric varieties associated to cocycles in the cohomology group , where Γ is a discrete subgroup of a semisimple Lie group and L is a lattice in a real vector space. We prove that such a torus bundle has a canonical complex structure and that the space of holomorphic forms of the highest degree on a fiber product of such bundles is isomorphic to the space of mixed automorphic forms of a certain type. We treat the problem of completing the moduli space for roots of line bundles on curves. Special attention is devoted to higher spin curves within the universal Picard scheme. Two new different constructions, both using line bundles on nodal curves as boundary points, are carried out and compared with pre-existing ones.

We extend the ‘bundle constructions’ of calibrated submanifolds, due to Harvey–Lawson in the special Lagrangian case, and to Ionel–Karigiannis–Min-Oo in the cases of exceptional calibrations, by ‘twisting’ the bundles by a special (harmonic, holomorphic, or parallel) section of a complementary bundle. The existence of such deformations shows that the moduli space of calibrated deformations of these ‘calibrated subbundles’ includes deformations which destroy the linear structure of the fibre.  相似文献

For moduli space of stable parabolic bundles on a compact Riemann surface, we derive an explicit formula for the curvature of its canonical line bundle with respect to Quillen’s metric and interprete it as a local index theorem for the family of \(\overline\partial\)-operators in the associated parabolic endomorphism bundles. The formula consists of two terms: one standard (proportional to the canonical Kähler form on the moduli space), and one nonstandard, called a cuspidal defect, that is defined by means of special values of the Eisenstein–Maass series. The cuspidal defect is explicitly expressed through the curvature forms of certain natural line bundles on the moduli space related to the parabolic structure. We also compare our result with Witten’s volume computation.  相似文献

Zero-schemes on smooth complex projective varieties, forcing all elements of ample and free linear systems to be reducible, are studied. Relationships among the minimal length of such zero-schemes, the positivity of the line bundle associated with the linear system, and the dimension of the variety are established. Bad linear spaces are also investigated.  相似文献

We construct natural maps (the Klein and Wirtinger maps) from moduli spaces of semistable vector bundles over an algebraic curve X to affine spaces, as quotients of the nonabelian theta linear series. We prove a finiteness result for these maps over generalized Kummer varieties (moduli space of torus bundles), leading us to conjecture that the maps are finite in general. The conjecture provides canonical explicit coordinates on the moduli space. The finiteness results give low-dimensional parametrizations of Jacobians (in for generic curves), described by 2Θ functions or second logarithmic derivatives of theta. We interpret the Klein and Wirtinger maps in terms of opers on X. Opers are generalizations of projective structures, and can be considered as differential operators, kernel functions or special bundles with connection. The matrix opers (analogues of opers for matrix differential operators) combine the structures of flat vector bundle and projective connection, and map to opers via generalized Hitchin maps. For vector bundles off the theta divisor, the Szegö kernel gives a natural construction of matrix oper. The Wirtinger map from bundles off the theta divisor to the affine space of opers is then defined as the determinant of the Szegö kernel. This generalizes the Wirtinger projective connections associated to theta characteristics, and the associated Klein bidifferentials.  相似文献

We study rational curves on general Fano hypersurfaces in projective space, mostly by degenerating the hypersurface along with its ambient projective space to reducible varieties. We prove results on existence of low-degree rational curves with balanced normal bundle, and reprove some results on irreducibility of spaces of rational curves of low degree.  相似文献

Let X be a smooth n-dimensional projective variety defined over and let L be a line bundle on X. In this paper we shall construct a moduli space parametrizing -cohomology L-twisted Higgs pairs, i.e., pairs where E is a vector bundle on X and . If we take , the canonical line bundle on X, the variety is canonically identified with the cotangent bundle of the smooth locus of the moduli space of stable vector bundles on X and, as such, it has a canonical symplectic structure. We prove that, in the general case, in correspondence to the choice of a non-zero section , one can define, in a natural way, a Poisson structure on . We also analyze the relations between this Poisson structure on and the canonical symplectic structure of the cotangent bundle to the smooth locus of the moduli space of parabolic bundles over X, with parabolic structure over the divisor D defined by the section s. These results generalize to the higher dimensional case similar results proved in [Bo1] in the case of curves. Received November 4, 1997; in final form May 28, 1998  相似文献

Using the notion of generalized divisors introduced by Hartshorne (see 16 ), we adapt the theory of adjoint forms to the case of Gorenstein curves. We show an infinitesimal Torelli‐type theorem for line bundles on Gorenstein curves. We also construct explicit counterexamples to the infinitesimal Torelli claim in the case of a reduced reducible Gorenstein curve.  相似文献

In this note we apply the techniques of the toric systems introduced by Hille–Perling to several problems on smooth projective surfaces: We showed that the existence of full exceptional collection of line bundles implies the rationality for small Picard rank surfaces; we proved equivalences of several notions of cyclic strong exceptional collection of line bundles; we also proposed a partial solution to a conjecture on exceptional sheaves on weak del Pezzo surfaces.  相似文献

The locus in the moduli space of curves where the Petri map fails to be injective is called the Petri locus. In this paper we provide a new proof on the existence of Divisorial components in the Petri locus for the case of pencils. For this proof we produce some special reducible curves (chains of elliptic components) in the Petri locus and we show that such curves have only a finite number of pencils for which the Petri map is not injective.  相似文献

The maximal Seshadri number μ(L) of an ample line bundle L on a smooth projective variety X measures the local positivity of the line bundle L at a general point of X. By refining the method of Ein-Küchle-Lazarsfeld, lower bounds on μ(L) are obtained in terms of L n , n=dim(X), for a class of varieties. The main idea is to show that if a certain lower bound is violated, there exists a non-trivial foliation on the variety whose leaves are covered by special curves. In a number of examples, one can show that such foliations must be trivial and obtain lower bounds for μ(L). The examples include the hyperplane line bundle on a smooth surface in ℙ3 and ample line bundles on smooth threefolds of Picard number 1. In this note, we describe the Picard group of the class of compact, smooth, flat, projective varieties. In view of Charlap's work and Johnson's characterization, we construct line bundles over such manifolds as the holonomy-invariant elements of the Neron-Severi group of a projective flat torus covering the manifold. We prove a generalized version of the Appell-Humbert theorem which shows that the nontrivial elements of the Picard group are precisely those coming from the above construction. Our calculations finally give an estimate for the set of positive line bundles for such varieties.

Answering a question of [BV] it is proved that the Picard bundle on the moduli space of stable vector bundles of rank two, on a Riemann surface of genus at least three, with fixed determinant of odd degree is stable.  相似文献
