Four new azo ligands, L1 and HL2-4, of sulfa drugs have been prepared and characterized. [MX(2)(L1)(H(2)O)(m)].nH(2)O; [(MX(2))(2)(HL2 or HL3)(H(2)O)(m)].nH(2)O and [M(2)X(3)(L4)(H(2)O)].nH(2)O; M=Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) (X=Cl) and Zn(II) (X=AcO); m=0-4 and n=0-3, complexes were prepared. Elemental and thermal analyses (TGA and DTA), IR, solid reflectance spectra, magnetic moment and molar conductance measurements have accomplished characterization of the complexes. The IR data reveal that HL1 and HL2-3 ligands behave as a bidentate neutral ligands while HL4 ligand behaves as a bidentate monoionic ligand. They coordinated to the metal ions via the carbonyl O, enolic sulfonamide S(O)OH, pyrazole or thiazole N and azo N groups. The molar conductance data reveal that the chelates are non-electrolytes. From the solid reflectance spectra and magnetic moment data, the complexes were found to have octahedral, tetrahedral and square planar geometrical structures. The thermal behaviour of these chelates shows that the water molecules (hydrated and coordinated) and the anions are removed in a successive two steps followed immediately by decomposition of the ligand in the subsequent steps. The activation thermodynamic parameters, such as, E*, DeltaH*, DeltaS* and DeltaG* are calculated from the TG curves applying Coats-Redfern method.  相似文献

Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and UO(2)(II) complexes with the ligand 2-tert-butylaminomethylpyridine-6-carboxylic acid methylester (HL(2)) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic moment, thermal analysis and spectral data. 1:1 M:HL(2) complexes, with the general formula [M(HL(2))X(2)].nH(2)O (where M = Co(II) (X = Cl, n = 0), Ni(II) (X = Cl, n = 3), Cu(II) (grey colour, X = AcO, n = 1), Cu(II) (yellow colour, X = Cl, n = 0) and Zn(II) (X = Br, n = 0). In addition, the Fe(III) and UO(2)(II) complexes of the type 1:2 M:HL(2) and with the formulae [Fe(L(2))(2)]Cl and [UO(2)(HL(2))(2)](NO(3))(2) are prepared. From the IR data, it is seen that HL(2) ligand behaves as a terdentate ligand coordinated to the metal ions via the pyridyl N, carboxylate O and protonated NH group; except the Fe(III) complex, it coordinates via the deprotonated NH group. This is supported by the molar conductance data, which show that all the complexes are non-electrolytes, while the Fe(III) and UO(2)(II) complexes are 1:1 electrolytes. IR and H1-NMR spectral studies suggest a similar behaviour of the Zn(II) complex in solid and solution states. From the solid reflectance spectral data and magnetic moment measurements, the complexes have a trigonal bipyramidal (Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes) and octahedral (Fe(III), UO(2)(II) complexes) geometrical structures. The thermal behaviour of the complexes is studied and the different dynamic parameters are calculated applying Coats-Redfern equation.  相似文献

Reactions of copper(II) with 3-phenylhydrazopentane-2,4-diones X-2-C(6)H(4)-NHN=C{C(=O)CH(3)}(2) bearing a substituent in the ortho-position [X = OH (H(2)L(1)) 1, AsO(3)H(2) (H(3)L(2)) 2, Cl (HL(3)) 3, SO(3)H (H(2)L(4)) 4, COOCH(3) (HL(5)) 5, COOH (H(2)L(6)) 6, NO(2) (HL(7)) 7 or H (HL(8)) 8] lead to a variety of complexes including the monomeric [CuL(4)(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O 10, [CuL(4)(H(2)O)(2)] 11 and [Cu(HL(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)] 12, the dimeric [Cu(2)(H(2)O)(2)(μ-HL(2))(2)] 9 and the polymeric [Cu(μ-L(6))](n)] 13 ones, often bearing two fused six-membered metallacycles. Complexes 10-12 can interconvert, depending on pH and temperature, whereas the Cu(II) reactions with 4 in the presence of cyanoguanidine or imidazole (im) afford the monomeric compound [Cu(H(2)O)(4){NCNC(NH(2))(2)}(2)](HL(4))(2)·6H(2)O 14 and the heteroligand polymer [Cu(μ-L(4))(im)](n)15, respectively. The compounds were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction (complexes), electrochemical and thermogravimetric studies, as well as elemental analysis, IR, (1)H and (13)C NMR spectroscopies (diones) and ESI-MS. The effects of the substituents in 1-8 on the HOMO-LUMO gap and the relative stability of the model compounds [Cu(OH)(L(8))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O, [Cu(L(1))(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O and [Cu(L(4))(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O are discussed on the basis of DFT calculations that show the stabilization follows the order: two fused 6-membered > two fused 6-membered/5-membered > one 6-membered metallacycles. Complexes 9, 10, 12 and 13 act as catalyst precursors for the peroxidative oxidation (with H(2)O(2)) of cyclohexane to cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone, in MeCN/H(2)O (total yields of ca. 20% with TONs up to 566), under mild conditions.  相似文献

A new series of iron(III) complexes are synthesized from the reaction of the polyfunctional ligands 1-benzotriazol-1-yl-1-[p-X-phenyl]hydrazono]propan-2-one (X=H, Cl, NO(2), CH(3) or OCH(3) corresponding to HL(1),HL(2), HL(3), HL(4) or HL(5), respectively, with iron(III) chloride in the presence of LiOH by the conventional and microwave induced energy methods. The conventional method led to the formation of [FeL(3)].nH(2)O but the microwave induced energy gave [FeLCl(2)], n=1-3 and L is the anion of HL(1)-HL(5). The complexes are characterized by the elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic and spectral (FT-IR, UV-vis and ESR) studies. The magnetic and spectral studies showed that [FeLCl(2)] are polymeric octahedral, [Fe(L(1))(3)].H(2)O is a low spin octahedral and (d(xz),d(yz))(4) (d(xy))(1) ground state, [FeL(3)].nH(2)O, L=anion of HL(4) or HL(5) and are octahedral with intermediate spin (S=32) with ground state (d(xy))(2)(d(xz),d(yz))(3) electronic configuration while for the anions of HL(2) and HL(3), they have (t(2g))(3)(e(g))(5) admixed with (d(xy))(2)(d(xz),d(yz))(3) configurations. From the ESR data, the contribution of the high spin (S=52) and low spin (S=32) to the quantum mechanical spin intermediate (QMS), and the crystal field parameters Delta and V are calculated and related to the electronic and steric effects of the ligands. The electronic spectral data confirm that obtained from the ESR, and the different ligand field parameters as well as the pi-->t(2g), t(2g)-->e(g), e(g)-->pi*, pi-->pi* transitions are estimated and compared with that experimentally obtained.  相似文献

Intramolecular ligand hydroxylation was observed during the reactions of dioxygen with the dicopper(I) complexes of the ligands L(1)(L(1)=alpha,alpha'-bis[(2-pyridylethyl)amino]-m-xylene) and L(3)(L(3)=alpha, alpha'-bis[N-(2-pyridylethyl)-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)amino]-m-xylene). The dinuclear copper(I) complex [Cu(2)L(3)](ClO(4))(2) and the dicopper(II) complex [Cu(2)(L(1)-O)(OH)(ClO(4))]ClO(4) were characterized by single-crystal X-ray structure analysis. Furthermore, phenolate-bridged complexes were synthesized with the ligand L(2)-OH (structurally characterized [Cu(2)(L(2)-O)Cl(3)] with L(2)=alpha, alpha'-bis[N-methyl-N-(2-pyridylethyl)amino]-m-xylene; synthesized from the reaction between [Cu(2)(L(2)-O)(OH)](ClO(4))(2) and Cl(-)) and Me-L(3)-OH: [Cu(2)(Me-L(3)-O)(mu-X)](ClO(4))(2)xnH(2)O (Me-L(3)-OH = 2,6-bis[N-(2-pyridylethyl)-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)amino]-4-methylphenol and X = C(3)H(3)N(2)(-)(prz), MeCO(2)(-) and N(3)(-)). The magnetochemical characteristics of compounds were determined by temperature-dependent magnetic studies, revealing their antiferromagnetic behaviour [-2J(in cm(-1)) values: -92, -86 and -88; -374].  相似文献

To explore the relationships between the structures of ligands and their complexes, we have synthesized and characterized a series of metal complexes with two structurally related ligands, 9-acridinecarboxylic acid (HL(1)) and 4-quinolinecarboxylate acid (HL(2)), [Cu(2)(mu(2)-OMe)(2)(L(1))(2)(H(2)O)(0.69)](n) 1, [Cu(2)(L(1))(4)(CH(3)OH)(2)] 2, [Cu(3)(L(1))(6)(CH(3)OH)(6)].3H(2)O 3, [Mn(3)(L(1))(6)(CH(3)OH)(6)].3H(2)O 4, [Co(3)(L(1))(6)(CH(3)OH)(6)].3H(2)O 5, [Cu(L(2))(2)](n) 6, [Mn(L(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n) 7, and [Co(L(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n) 8. 1 is a three-dimensional (3D) polymer with an interpenetrating NbO type network showing one-dimensional (1D) channels, whereas 2 and 3 take bi- and trinuclear structures, respectively, because of the differences in basicity of the reaction systems in preparing the three complexes. 4 and 5 have trinuclear structures similar to that of 3. In 1-5, ligand L(1) performs different coordination modes with N,O-bridging in 1 and O,O'-bridging in 2-5, and the metal ions also show different coordination geometries: square planar in 1, square pyramidal in 2, and octahedral in 3-5. 6 has a two-dimensional structure containing (4,4) grids in which L(2) adopts the N,O-bridging mode and the Cu(II) center takes square planar geometry. 7 and 8 are isostructural complexes showing 1D chain structures, with L(2) adopting the O,O-bridging mode. In addition, the intermolecular O-H...N hydrogen bonds and pi-pi stacking interactions further extend the complexes (except 1 and 6), forming 3D structures. The magnetic properties of 2-7 have been investigated and discussed in detail.  相似文献

Bismuth(III) compounds containing the Kl?ui's oxygen tripodal ligand [CpCo{P(O)(OEt)(2)}(3)](-) (L(OEt)(-)) have been synthesized, and their interactions with dichromate in aqueous media were studied. The treatment of Bi(5)O(OH)(9)(NO(3))(4) with NaL(OEt) in water afforded [L(OEt)Bi(NO(3))(2)](2) (1), whereas that of BiCl(3) with NaL(OEt) in CH(2)Cl(2) yielded L(OEt)BiCl(2) (2). Chloride abstraction of 2 with AgX afforded [L(OEt)BiX(2)](2) [X(-) = triflate (OTf(-)) (3), tosylate (OTs(-)) (4)]. In aqueous solutions at pH > 4, 4 underwent ligand redistribution to give the bis(tripod) complex [(L(OEt))(2)Bi(H(2)O)][OTs] (5). The treatment of 4 with Na(2)Cr(2)O(7) in acetone/water afforded the Bi(III)/Cr(VI) oxo cluster [(L(OEt))(4)Bi(4)(μ(3)-CrO(4))(2)(μ(3)-Cr(2)O(7))(2)] (6) containing a unique Bi(4)Cr(4)O(12) oxometallic core. Compound 6 oxidized benzyl alcohol to give ca. 6 equiv of benzaldehyde. The reaction between 2 and CrO(3) yielded [L(OEt)Bi(OCrO(2)Cl)](2)(μ-Cl)(2) (7). The crystal structures of complexes 4-7 have been determined.  相似文献

Aromatic ring amination reactions in the ruthenium complex of 2-(phenylazo)pyridine is described. The substitutionally inert cationic brown complex [Ru(pap)(3)](ClO(4))(2) (1) (pap = 2-(phenylazo)pyridine) reacts smoothly with aromatic amines neat and in the presence of air to produce cationic and intense blue complexes [Ru(HL(2))(3)](ClO(4))(2) (2) (HL(2) = 2-[(4-(arylamino)phenyl)azo]pyridine). These were purified on a preparative TLC plate. The X-ray structure of the new and representative complex 2c has been solved to characterize them. The results are compared with those of the starting complex, [Ru(pap)(3)](ClO(4))(2) (1). The transformation 1 --> 2 involves aromatic ring amination at the para carbon (with respect to the diazo function) of the pendant phenyl rings of all three coordinated pap ligands in 1. The transformation is stereoretentive, and the amination reaction is regioselective. The extended ligand HL(2) coordinates as a bidentate ligand and chelates to ruthenium(II) through the pyridine and one of the azo nitrogens. The amine nitrogen of this bears a hydrogen atom and remains uncoordinated. Similarly, the amination reaction on the mixed-ligand complex [Ru(pap)(bpy)(2)](ClO(4))(2) produces the blue complex [Ru(HL(2))(bpy)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (3) as anticipated. The reactions of [RuCl(2)(dmso)(4)] and [Ru(S)(2)(L)(2)](2+) (dmso = dimethyl sulfoxide, S = labile coordinated solvent, L = 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) and pap) with the preformed HL(2) ligand have been explored. The structure of the representative complex [RuCl(2)(HL(2a))(2)] (5a) is reported. It has the chlorides in trans configuration while the pyridine as well as azo nitrogens are in cis geometry. Optical spectra and redox properties of the newly synthesized complexes are reported. All the ruthenium complexes of HL(2) are characterized by their intense blue solution colors. The lowest energy transitions in these complexes appear near 600 nm, which have been attributed to intraligand charge-transfer transitions. For example, the lowest energy visible range transition in [Ru(HL(2b))(3)](2+) appears at 602 nm and its intensity is 65 510 M(-1) cm(-1). All the tris chelates show multiple-step electron-transfer processes. In [Ru(HL(2))(3)](2+), six reductions waves constitute the complete electron-transfer series. The electrons are believed to be added successively to the three azo functions. In the mixed-ligand chelates [Ru(HL(2))(pap)(2)](2+) and [Ru(HL(2))(bpy)(2)](2+) the reductions due to HL(2), pap, and bpy are observed.  相似文献

The reactions of the dinuclear copper complexes [Cu(2)(L)(OAc)] [H(3)L = N,N'-(2-hydroxypropane-1,3-diyl)bis(salicylaldimine) or [Cu(2)(L')(OAc)] (H(3)L' = N,N'-(2-hydroxypropane-1,3-diyl)bis(4,5-dimethylsalicylaldimine)] with various phosphonic acids, RPO(3)H(2) (R = t-Bu, Ph, c-C(5)H(9), c-C(6)H(11) or 2,4,6-i-Pr(3)-C(6)H(2)), leads to the replacement of the acetate bridge affording tetranuclear copper(II) phosphonates, [Cu(4)(L)(2)(t-BuPO(3))](CH(3)OH)(2)(C(6)H(6)) (1), [Cu(4)(L)(2)(PhPO(3))(H(2)O)(2)(NMe(2)CHO)](H(2)O)(2) (2), [Cu(4)(L')(2)(C(5)H(9)PO(3))](CH(3)OH)(2) (3), [Cu(4)(L')(2)(C(6)H(11)PO(3)](MeOH)(4)(H(2)O)(2) (4) and [Cu(4)(L')(2)(C(30)H(46)P(2)O(5))](PhCH(3)) (5). The molecular structures of 1-4 reveal that a [RPO(3)](2-) ligand is involved in holding the four copper atoms together by a 4.211 coordination mode. In 5, an in situ formed [(RPO(2))(2)O](4-) ligand bridges two pairs of the dinuclear subunits. Magnetic studies on these complexes reveal that the phosphonate ligand is an effective conduit for magnetic interaction among the four copper centers present; a predominantly antiferromagnetic interaction is observed at low temperatures.  相似文献

A series of nickel complexes supported with a tripodal ligand bis(1-methylbenzimidazolyl-2-methyl)amine (L) or bis(1-methylbenzimidazolyl-2-methyl)-10-camphorsulfonamide (L') on a Ni(II) ion were synthesized and fully characterized. The complexes, [LNiCl(micro-Cl)]2.4CH(3)OH (1), [LNi(CH(3)CN)3](ClO4)2.2CH(3)CN (3), and [L2(2)Ni(2)(micro-OAc)3]X (X = Cl- (5) or ClO4- (7)), coordinated with the tridentate L ligand, all possess an octahedral structure at the nickel center; in contrast, the geometry of the complexes, L'NiCl2 (2), [L'Ni(CH(3)CN)3](ClO4)2.2CH(3)CN (4), and L'Ni(OAc)2.0.5Et(2)O (6), employing the L' ligand are either tetrahedral or octahedral. Due to the weak coordinating ability of the sulfonamide group and the steric hindrance of the camphorsulfonyl group of L', the tripodal L' becomes a bidentate ligand in the presence of chloride or acetate groups, which have a stronger electron donating ability than acetonitrile, bound to the nickel center. It is noteworthy that the nuclearity of the nickel complexes can be controlled by the coordination ability of the central nitrogen of the supporting bis-methylbenzimidazolyl ligand.  相似文献

High-level ab initio calculations using the CASPT2 method and extensive basis sets were performed on the energy differences of the high-[(5)T(2g):t(2g) (4)e(g) (2)] and low-[(1)A(1g):t(2g) (6)] spin states of the pseudo-octahedral Fe(II) complexes [Fe(H(2)O)(6)](2+), [Fe(NH(3))(6)](2+), and [Fe(bpy)(3)](2+). The results are compared to the results obtained from density functional theory calculations with the generalized gradient approximation functional BP86 and two hybrid functionals B3LYP and PBE0, and serve as a calibration for the latter methods. We find that large basis set CASPT2 calculations may provide results for the high-spin/low-spin splitting DeltaE(HL) that are accurate to within 1000 cm(-1), provided they are based on an adequately large CAS[10,12] reference wave function. The latter condition was found to be much more stringent for [Fe(bpy)(3)](2+) than for the other two complexes. Our "best" results for DeltaE(HL) (including a zero-point energy correction) are -17 690 cm(-1) for [Fe(H(2)O)(6)](2+), -8389 cm(-1) for [Fe(NH(3))(6)](2+), and 3820 cm(-1) for [Fe(bpy)(3)](2+).  相似文献

Heteropolynuclear organometallic compounds have been constructed by using two kinds of ferrocene-based ligands, 1,1'-ferrocenedicarboxylic acid (H(2)L(1)) and ferrocenecarboxylic acid (HL(2)). Reactions the ligand H(2)L(1) with copper(II) and nickel(II) salts, in the presence of pyridine, give a tetranuclear Cu(2)Fe(2) mixed-metallic box Cu(2)L(1)(2)(Py)(2)(DMF)(2)(H(2)O)(2) (1) and a tetranuclear heterobimetallic helix Ni(2)L(1)(2)(Py)(4)(H(2)O) (2), respectively. In these complexes, the ferrocene moieties show cisoid conformations which lead to the formation of the finite coordination geometry, i.e. to molecular complexes. Interactions of the ligand H(2)L(1) with lanthanide ions afford two-dimensional networks [La(2)L(1)(3)(CH(3)OH)(4)]( infinity ) (3), [Eu(2)L(1)(3)(H(2)O)(5)]( infinity ) (4), and [Gd(2)L(1)(3)(CH(3)OH)(2)(H(2)O)(3)]( infinity ) (5), respectively, in which transoid conformations of the ferrocene moiety provide opportunities to form infinite 2-D networks. It is suggested that the conformational freedom of the ferrocene moiety makes the ligand L(1) display different conformations and coordination modes in these complexes. In addition, the pi.pi interactions related to the ferrocene moieties were also found to stabilize the supramolecular architectures in the solid state. As a comparison, reaction of lanthanide ions with the ligand HL(2) resulted in three isostructural heterodinuclear windmill-shaped compounds Ln(2)L(2)(6)(CH(3)OH)(2)(H(2)O)(5) [Ln = La (6), Eu (7), and Gd (8)] by simply diffusing the solutions of lanthanide ions into the mixture of HL(2) and NaOH, respectively. Electrochemical properties of the ferrocene-containing complexes 1-8 are also investigated in the solution or solid state.  相似文献

The chromium chemistry of two positional isomers of the ligand 2-[(N-arylamino)phenylazo]pyridine (HL(1)and HL(2)) are described. While the ligand HL(1) coordinates as a bischelating tridentate N,N,N-donor, [L(1)](-), with deprotonation of the amine nitrogen, its isomer HL(2) coordinates as a neutral bidentate N,N-donor. The amine nitrogen in this case remains protonated. Thus the reaction of CrCl(3).nH(2)O with HL(1) produced the brown cationic complex, [Cr(L(1))(2)](+), [1](+). The representative X-ray structure of [1a](ClO(4)) is reported. The two azo nitrogens of the anioinc tridentate ligand approach the metal center closest with Cr(1)-N(azo) av 1.862(6) A. There is a significant degree of ligand backbone conjugation in the coordinated ligands, which resulted in shortening of the C-N distances and also in lengthening of the diazo (N=N) distances. Two synthetic approaches for the synthesis of chromium complexes of HL(2) are investigated. The first approach is based on the substitution reaction, wherein all the coordinated CO ligands of Cr(CO)(6) were completely substituted by the three bidentate HL(2) ligands to produce a violet complex [Cr(HL(2))(3)]. The second approach is based on para-amination reaction of coordinated 2-(phenylazo)pyridine (pap). Thus the reaction of an inert complex, [CrCl(2)(pap)(2)], with ArNH(2) yields a mixed ligand complex, [CrCl(2)(pap)(HL(2))], 3. In this reaction one of the two coordinated pap ligands in [CrCl(2)(pap)(2)] undergoes amination at the para carbon (with respect to the diazo function) to yield HL(2) in situ. This metal-promoted transformation is authenticated by the X-ray structure determination of a representative complex, [CrCl(2)(pap)(HL(2a))], 3a. Notable differences in bond distances along the ligand backbones of the two coordinated ligands in 3a indicate different levels of metal-ligand overlap in this complex. All the chromium complexes of HL(2) are characterized by their intense blue-violet color. The frequencies of the visible range transitions in these complexes linearly correlate with the Hammett's substitution constant. Intraligand charge-transfer transitions in the visible region are believed to be responsible for the intense color. Redox properties of all these complexes are reported.  相似文献

In aqueous solutions under mild conditions, [Ru(H(2)O)(6)](2+) was reacted with various water-soluble tertiary phosphines. As determined by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, reactions with the sulfonated arylphosphines L =mtppms, ptppms and mtppts yielded only the mono- and bisphosphine complexes, [Ru(H(2)O)(5)L](2+), cis-[Ru(H(2)O)(4)L(2)](2+), and trans-[Ru(H(2)O)(4)L(2)](2+) even in a high ligand excess. With the small aliphatic phosphine L = 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphatricyclo-[3.3.1.1(3,7)]decane (pta) at [L]:[Ru]= 12:1, the tris- and tetrakisphosphino species, [Ru(H(2)O)(3)(pta)(3)](2+), [Ru(H(2)O)(2)(pta)(4)](2+), [Ru(H(2)O)(OH)(pta)(4)](+), and [Ru(OH)(2)(pta)(4)] were also detected, albeit in minor quantities. These results have significance for the in situ preparation of Ru(II)-tertiary phosphine catalysts. The structures of the complexes trans-[Ru(H(2)O)(4)(ptaMe)(2)](tos)(4)x2H(2)O, trans-[Ru(H(2)O)(4)(ptaH)(2)](tos)(4)[middle dot]2H(2)O, and trans-mer-[RuI(2)(H(2)O)(ptaMe)(3)]I(3)x2H(2)O, containing protonated or methylated pta ligands (ptaH and ptaMe, respectively) were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

A tridentate ONN donor Schiff-base hydrazone ligand, H2L, was synthesized by the condensation of 2-amino-4-hydrazino-6-methyl pyrimidine with o-hydroxyacetophenone. The structure of the ligand was elucidated by IR and 1H NMR spectra which indicated the presence of three different coordinating groups, the oxygen atom of the phenolic OH group, the nitrogen atom of the azomethine, C=N, group and one of the nitrogen atoms of the heterocyclic ring. The ligand behaves either as a tridentate (N2O sites) neutral, mono- or di-basic ligand or as a bidentate (NO sites) monobasic ligand depending on the pH of the reaction medium and the metal ion. The mass spectrum of the ligand showed the presence of the molecular ion peak. Different types of metal complexes, mononuclear such as [(HL)M(OAc)]·xH2O (M = Cu or Zn), [(HL)M(OAc)H2O]·xH2O (M = Ni or UO2), [(HL)Co(OH2)Cl]·2H2O, [(H2L)FeCl3]·3½H2O, [(L)FeCl(H2O)2]· 2¼H2O, [(HL)L'FeCl(H2O)]·H2O (L' = 8-hydroxyquinoline, 8-HQ), [(HL)L'FeCl]Cl·xH2O (L' = 1,10-phenanthroline, phen, or 2,2'-bipyridyl, bpy) and [(HL)L'Cu]·ClO4 (L' = phen). Also, binuclear complexes with oxalic acid of the type [(HL)ClFe(ox)FeCl(HL)], [(HL)Cu(ox)Cu(HL)] were obtained. The IR spectra of the binuclear complexes indicated that the oxalate anion acts as a bridging tetradentate ligand. Elemental analyses, IR, electronic and ESR spectra as well as conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements were used to elucidate the structures of the newly prepared metal complexes. Square-planar geometry is suggested for the Cu(II) complex, octahedral geometry for the Fe(III), Ni(II) complexes, tetrahedral geometry for the Co(II) and Zn(II) complexes and pentagonal-bipyramidal geometry for the UO2(VI) complex.  相似文献

Two new zinc(II) complexes, [Zn2L2Cl4]·2[ZnL(CH3OH)Cl2] 1 and [ZnL2(NO3)2] 2, were synthesized by reacting ZnX2·nH2O (X = Cl-, NO3-) and a Schiff base ligand 2-[(4-me- thylphenylimino)methyl]-6-methoxyphenol (C15H15NO2, L) which was obtained by the condensation of o-vanillin (2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde) with p-toluidine. Both 1 and 2 were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction technique, elemental analysis, molar conductance, FT-IR, UV-Vis, 1H-NMR spectra and thermogravimetric analysis. The Schiff base ligand and its zinc(II) complexes have been tested in vitro to evaluate their antibacterial activity against bacteria, viz., Escherichia Coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus Subtilis. The results show that these complexes have higher activity than the corresponding free Schiff base ligand against the same bacteria.  相似文献

The four- and five-coordinate complexes [(CNC)NiX(2)] (X = Cl, Br, I), [(CNC)NiX]PF(6) (X = Cl, Br) and [(CNC)NiCl]Cl·H(2)O have been isolated, where CNC is the bis(N-butylbenzimidazolin-2-ylidene)-2,6-pyridine pincer ligand. A five-coordinate geometry is rare for this class of complex. Where amenable, the complexes have been structurally characterised by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies and in solution by NMR, UV-vis and MS studies. The five-coordinate dibromo complex [(CNC)NiBr(2)] is readily prepared on the gram-scale from the benzimidazolium salt precursor and Ni(OAc)(2)·4H(2)O in DMSO without the exclusion of air. Halide exchange and salt metathesis reactions using [(CNC)NiBr(2)] afford the other four- and five-coordinate complexes. [(CNC)NiBr(2)] displays very low solubility, and upon dissolution affords solutions of the four-coordinate [(CNC)NiBr](+). Factors that influence the formation of four- or five-coordinate complexes with this ligand class are discussed.  相似文献

Non-heme manganese and iron complexes with terminal hydroxo or oxo ligands are proposed to mediate the transfer of hydrogen atoms in metalloproteins. To investigate this process in synthetic systems, the monomeric complexes [M(III/II)H(3)1(OH)](-/2-) and [M(III)H(3)1(O)](2-) have been prepared, where M(III/II) = Mn and Fe and [H(3)1](3-) is the tripodal ligand, tris[(N'-tert-butylureaylato)-N-ethyl)]aminato. These complexes have similar primary and secondary coordination spheres, which are enforced by [H(3)1](3-). The homolytic bond dissociation energies (BDEs(O-H)) for the M(III/II)-OH complexes were determined, using experimentally obtained values for the pK(a)(M-OH) and E(1/2) measured in DMSO. This thermodynamic analysis gave BDEs(O-H) of 77(4) kcal/mol for [Mn(II)H(3)1(O-H)](2-) and 66(4) kcal/mol for [Fe(II)H(3)1(O-H)](2-). For the M(III)-OH complexes, [Mn(III)H(3)1(OH)]- and [Fe(III)H(3)1(OH)]-, BDEs(O-H) of 110(4) and 115(4) kcal/mol were obtained. These BDEs(O-H) were verified with reactivity studies with substrates having known X-H bond energies (X = C, N, O). For instance, [Fe(II)H(3)1(OH)](2-) reacts with a TEMPO radical to afford [Fe(III)H(3)1(O)](2-) and TEMPO-H in isolated yields of 60 and 75%, respectively. Consistent with the BDE(O-H) values for [Mn(II)H(3)1(OH)](2-), TEMPO does not react with this complex, yet TEMPO-H (BDE(O-H) = 70 kcal/mol) reacts with [Mn(III)H(3)1(O)](2-), forming TEMPO and [Mn(II)H(3)1(OH)](2-). [Mn(III)H(3)1(O)](2-) and [Fe(III)H(3)1(O)](2-) react with other organic substrates containing C-H bonds less than 80 kcal/mol, including 9,10-dihydroanthracene and 1,4-cyclohexadiene to produce [M(II)H(3)1(OH)](2-) and the appropriate dehydrogenated product in yields of greater than 80%. Treating [Mn(III)H(3)1(O)](2-) and [Fe(III)H(3)1(O)](2-) with phenolic compounds does not yield the product expected from hydrogen atom transfer but rather the protonated complexes, [Mn(III)H(3)1(OH)]- and [Fe(III)H(3)1(OH)]-, which is ascribed to the highly basic nature of the terminal oxo group.  相似文献

Self-assembly of silver(I) salts and three ortho-hydroxyl and carboxyl groups decorated arenesulfonic acids affords the formation of nine silver(I)-sulfonates, (NH(4))·[Ag(HL1)(NH(3))(H(2)O)] (1), {(NH(4))·[Ag(3)(HL1)(2)(NH(3))(H(2)O)]}(n) (2), [Ag(2)(HL1)(H(2)O)(2)](n) (3), [Ag(2)(HL2)(NH(3))(2)]·H(2)O (4), [Ag(H(2)L2)(H(2)O)](n) (5), [Ag(2)(HL2)](n) (6), [Ag(3)(L3)(NH(3))(3)](n) (7), [Ag(2)(HL3)](n) (8), and [Ag(6)(L3)(2)(H(2)O)(3)](n) (9) (H(3)L1 = 2-hydroxyl-3-carboxyl-5-bromobenzenesulfonic acid, H(3)L2 = 2-hydroxyl-4-carboxylbenzenesulfonic acid, H(3)L3 = 2-hydroxyl-5-carboxylbenzenesulfonic acid), which are characterized by elemental analysis, IR, TGA, PL, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 is 3-D supramolecular network extended by [Ag(HL1)(NH(3))(H(2)O)](-) anions and NH(4)(+) cations. Complex 2 exhibits 3-D host-guest framework which encapsulates ammonium cations as guests. Complex 3 presents 2-D layer structure constructed from 1-D tape of sulfonate-bridged Ag1 dimers linked by [(Ag2)(2)(COO)(2)] binuclear units. Complex 4 exhibits 3-D hydrogen-bonding host-guest network which encapsulates water molecules as guests. Complex 5 shows 3-D hybrid framework constructed from organic linker bridged 1-D Ag-O-S chains while complex 6 is 3-D pillared layered framework with the inorganic substructure constructing from the Ag2 polyhedral chains interlinked by Ag1 dimers and sulfonate tetrahedra. The hybrid 3-D framework of complex 7 is formed by L3(-) trianions bridging short trisilver(I) sticks and silver(I) chains. Complex 8 also presents 3-D pillared layered framework, and the inorganic layer substructure is formed by the sulfonate tetrahedrons bridging [(Ag1O(4))(2)(Ag2O(5))(2)](∞) motifs. Complex 9 represents the first silver-based metal-polyhedral framework containing four kinds of coordination spheres with low coordination numbers. The structural diversities and evolutions can be attributed to the synthetic methods, different ligands and coordination modes of the three functional groups, that is, sulfonate, hydroxyl and carboxyl groups. The luminescent properties of the nine complexes have also been investigated at room temperature, especially, complex 1 presents excellent blue luminescence and can sensitize Tb(III) ion to exhibit characteristic green emission.  相似文献
