The ring decomposition technique of part I is extended to the case when the factors in the direct product decomposition are no longer fields but arbitrary chain rings. This includes not only the case of quasi-cyclic codes over rings but also the case of quasi-cyclic codes over fields whose co-index is no longer prime to the characteristic of the field. A new quaternary construction of the Leech lattice is derived.  相似文献

Given a fixed point free antianalytic involution k of a domain G in thecomplex plane, bounded by a finite number of analytic curves, k-invariant Greensfunctions are defined on G. The Lindelöfs principle is extended to k-invariantGreens functions. When G is the annulus, k-invariant Greens functions areobtained in the explicit form. Since the factorization of the annulus by the group kgenerated by k produces a Möbius strip, the respective result helped us to obtain explicitforms for Greens functions on the Möbius strip.  相似文献

The most famous open problem involving domination in graphs is Vizings conjecture which states the domination number of the Cartesian product of any two graphs is at least as large as the product of their domination numbers. In this paper, we investigate a similar problem for total domination. In particular, we prove that the product of the total domination numbers of any nontrivial tree and any graph without isolated vertices is at most twice the total domination number of their Cartesian product, and we characterize the extremal graphs.Research supported in part by the South African National Research Foundation and the University of KwaZulu-Natal  相似文献

A type of extensions called the -extention of topological spaces and their -equivalence and -trace systems are introduced, which ultimately characterize H-closed -extensions of a Hausdorff topological space. Also, the notion of -principal extensions is defined. In this paper, we consider multipleclass queueing systems with Npolicy in which the idle server starts service as soon as the number of customers in the startup class reaches threshold N. We consider the cases of FCFS and nonpreemptive priority. We obtain the Laplace–Stieltjes transform of the waiting times of each class of customers. The existence of Silnikov‘s orbits in a four-dimensional dynamical system is discussed. The existence of Silnikov‘s orbit resulting in chaotic dynamics is established by the fiber structure of invariant manifold and high-dimensional Melnikov method. The barycentric formula has several advantages over other means of evaluating the polynomial interpolating a function betweenn points in an interval. In particular, it is much more stable for sets of points clustered at the extremities of the interval, as are all the sets guaranteeing a good approximation forn sufficiently large. Also, it requires onlyO(n) operations for every function to be interpolated, once some weights, which depend only on the points, have been computed. Computing those weights usually requiresO(n2) operations; for ebyev points, however,O(n) operations suffice. We show here that all the above is also true for the optimal evaluation of functionals in H2 by giving a closed formula for the corresponding weights.  相似文献

In our previous paper [5], we have obtained a decomposition of f, where f is a function defined on R d , that is analogous to the one proved by H. Tanaka in the early sixties for Brownian martingales (the so-called Tanaka formula). The original proofs use purely analytic methods (e.g. the Calderón–Zygmund theory, etc.). In this paper, we give a new proof of our `Tanaka formula in analysis, that is based on probabilistic arguments. The main tools here are Brownian motion, stochastic calculus and Burkholder–Gundy inequalities for martingales. These methods allow us to improve somewhat our previous results, by proving that some significant constants do not depend on the dimension d.  相似文献

Given a family of real-valued functions defined in a normed vector space X, we study a class of -convex functions having a simpler representation for the --subdifferential. The case =X* with X being a Banach space (the Fenchel case) is particularly analysed, and we find that the sublinear lower semicontinuous functions satisfy the simpler representation with respect to X*. As a side result, we provide various new subdifferential-type charaterizations of positively homogeneous functions among those which are lower semicontinuous and convex. In addition, we also discuss that family related to the the so-called prox-bounded functions. The N-heap Wythoffs game is a two-player impartial game with N piles of tokens of sizes Players take turns removing any number of tokens from a single pile, or removing (a1,..., aN) from all piles - ai tokens from the i-th pile, providing that where is the nim addition. Results of Shahidi on the analytic continuation of certain L-functions have been used by Serre to obtain partial information on the distribution of Sato-Tate angles of the Ramanujan function. Employing the Christoffel numbers associated to the orthogonal polynomials used by Serre we derive upper bounds on the lower density of primes with small angles. We also make effective his lower bounds on the upper density of such primes. Assuming that more analytic information is available, we sharpen similar estimates of Ram Murty, and, using the Christoffel numbers attached to the second order Chebyshev polynomials, derive general bounds on the discrepancy between the empirical angles distribution and the Sato-Tate distribution.  相似文献
