In a high‐resolution photoelectron imaging and theoretical study of the IrB3? cluster, two isomers were observed experimentally with electron affinities (EAs) of 1.3147(8) and 1.937(4) eV. Quantum calculations revealed two nearly degenerate isomers competing for the global minimum, both with a B3 ring coordinated with the Ir atom. The isomer with the higher EA consists of a B3 ring with a bridge‐bonded Ir atom (Cs , 2A′), and the second isomer features a tetrahedral structure (C3v , 2A1). The neutral tetrahedral structure was predicted to be considerably more stable than all other isomers. Chemical bonding analysis showed that the neutral C3v isomer involves significant covalent Ir?B bonding and weak ionic bonding with charge transfer from B3 to Ir, and can be viewed as an Ir–(η3‐B3+) complex. This study provides the first example of a boron‐to‐metal charge‐transfer complex and evidence of a π‐aromatic B3+ ring coordinated to a transition metal.  相似文献

At temperatures below 150 K, the photoactivated metastable endo‐nitrito linkage isomer [Ni(Et4dien)(η2‐O,ON)(η1‐ONO)] (Et4dien=N,N,N′,N′‐tetraethyldiethylenetriamine) can be generated with 100 % conversion from the ground state nitro‐(η1‐NO2) isomer on irradiation with 500 nm light, in the single crystal by steady‐state photocrystallographic techniques. Kinetic studies show the system is no longer metastable above 150 K, decaying back to the ground state nitro‐(η1‐NO2) arrangement over several hours at 150 K. Variable‐temperature kinetic measurements in the range of 150–160 K show that the rate of endo‐nitrito decay is highly dependent on temperature, and an activation energy of Eact=+48.6(4) kJ mol?1 is calculated for the decay process. Pseudo‐steady‐state experiments, where the crystal is continually pumped by the light source for the duration of the X‐ray experiment, show the production of a previously unobserved, exo‐nitrito‐(η1‐ONO) linkage isomer only at temperatures close to the metastable limit (ca. 140–190 K). This exo isomer is considered to be a transient excited‐state species, as it is only observed in data collected by pseudo‐steady‐state methods.  相似文献

meso and dl Dimers (ArCHOR)2 where R is Me, Et, iPr, tBu, cyclohexyl and 1-adamantyl may readily be differentiated by their NMR spectra; the benzylic protons of the meso isomer always absorb at a slightly higher field than those of the dl isomer in each of the solvents used. Differences in chemical shift are discussed in terms of preferences in conformer distribution. The formation of equal amounts of both dimers from the corresponding radical ArCHOR shows that steric and polar factors are not important in influencing the dimerization. Magnetic non-equivalence due to the presence of asymmetric centres was found in some of the compounds discussed above.  相似文献

Metastable decomposition of ethylbenzene molecular ions should yield [C8H9]+ ions of nearly threshold energies. Mass spectral data from collisionally activated dissociation of these ions show them to be mainly the methyltropylium (a) isomer, which is also that formed from 7-methylcycloheptatriene and isopropylbenzene. Combined with the threshold photoionization studies of McLoughlin, Morrison and Traeger, this establishes a as the most stable [C8H9]+ isomer. This is more stable than the α-phenylethyl isomer (b), which can be formed from α-bromoethylbenzene molecular ions; higher energy b ions appear to isomerize to a.  相似文献

We report a novel mechanism for the interconversion of 2‐hydroxypropanal with its more‐stable ketone isomer hydroxyacetone. Reaction proceeds via concerted transfer of two H atoms, requires a barrier of only ~40 kcal mol?1, bypasses the enediol intermediate, and is general for α‐hydroxy carbonyls. A similar isomerization mechanism is shown to persist for β, γ, and δ‐hydroxy carbonyls; these compounds are skeletal forms of the monosaccharides and this work, therefore, discloses the gas‐phase mechanism for aldose‐ketose isomerization. As an example, the isomerization of glyceraldehyde to dihydroxyacetone is shown to proceed via this mechanism with a barrier of 31 kcal mol?1. Rate coefficients and thermochemical properties are reported for the isomerization of 2‐hydroxypropanal and hydroxyacetone for use in detailed kinetic models. Additionally, RRKM theory k (E ) values for this reaction suggest that it may transpire in the troposphere following solar excitation.  相似文献

Thermolysis of the “all-cis” compound 1α-chloro-2α,3α-dimethylcyclopropane (A) at 550–607 K and 6–115 torr is a first-order homogeneous non-radical-chain process giving penta-1,3-diene (PD) and HCl as products. The Arrhenius parameters are log10A(sec?1) = 13.92 ± 0.08 and E = 199.6 ± 0.9 kJ/mol. The isomer with trans-methyl groups, 1α-chloro-2α,3β-dimethylcyclopropane (B) reacts by two parallel first-order processes giving as observed products trans-4-chloropent-2-ene (4CP) and PD + HCl, with log10A(sec?1) = 14.6 and 13.8, respectively, and E = 199.5 and 190.2 kJ/mol, respectively. The 4CP undergoes secondary decomposition to PD + HCl (as investigated previously). Comparison of the results for compounds (A) and (B) with those for other gas-phase and solution reactions leads to the conclusion that the gas-phase thermolyses proceed by rate-determining ring opening to form olefins which may decompose further by thermal or chemically activated reactions, and that the ring opening is a semiionic electrocyclic reaction in which alkyl groups in the 2,3-positions trans to the migrating chlorine semianion move apart, with appropriate consequences for the rate of reaction and the stereochemistry of the products.  相似文献

Uranium(IV)–carbene–imido complexes [U(BIPMTMS)(NCPh3)(κ2N,N′‐BIPY)] ( 2 ; BIPMTMS=C(PPh2NSiMe3)2; BIPY=2,2‐bipyridine) and [U(BIPMTMS)(NCPh3)(DMAP)2] ( 3 ; DMAP=4‐dimethylamino‐pyridine) that contain unprecedented, discrete R2C=U=NR′ units are reported. These complexes complete the family of E=U=E (E=CR2, NR, O) metalla‐allenes with feasible first‐row hetero‐element combinations. Intriguingly, 2 and 3 contain cis‐ and trans‐C=U=N units, respectively, representing rare examples of controllable cis/trans isomerisation in f‐block chemistry. This work reveals a clear‐cut example of the trans influence in a mid‐valent uranium system, and thus a strong preference for the cis isomer, which is computed in a co‐ligand‐free truncated model—to isolate the electronic trans influence from steric contributions—to be more stable than the trans isomer by approximately 12 kJ mol?1 with an isomerisation barrier of approximately 14 kJ mol?1.  相似文献

The conformations of (Z)‐ and (E)‐5‐oxo‐B‐nor‐5,10‐secocholest‐1(10)‐en‐3β‐yl acetates ( 2 and 3 , resp.) were examined by a combination of X‐ray crystallographic analysis and NMR spectroscopy, with emphasis on the geometry of the cyclononenone moiety. The 1H‐ and 13C‐NMR spectra showed that the unsaturated nine‐membered ring of (E)‐isomer 3 in C6D6 and (D6)acetone solution exists in a sole conformation of type B 1 , which is similar to its solid‐state conformation. The (Z)‐isomer 2 in C6D6, CDCl3, and (D6)acetone solution, however, exists in two conformational forms of different families, with different orientation of the carbonyl group, the predominant form (85%) corresponding to the conformation of type A 1 and the minor (15%) to the conformation A 2 present also in the crystalline state. In this solid‐state conformations of the nine‐membered ring of both compounds, the 19‐Me and 5‐oxo groups are ‘β’‐oriented. The NMR analysis suggests that the nine‐membered ring of 4 has a conformation of type C 1 in CDCl3 solution.  相似文献

Ab initio MP2/6-31G*//HF/6-31G*+ZPE(HF/6-31G*) calculations of the potential energy surface in the vicinity of stationary points and the pathways of intramolecular rearrangements between low-lying structures of the OBe3F3 + cation detected in the mass spectra of μ4-Be4O(CF3COO)6 were carried out. Ten stable isomers with di- and tricoordinate oxygen atoms were localized. The relative energies of six structures lie in the range 0–8 kcal mol−1 and those of the remaining four structures lie in the range 20–40 kcal mol−1. Two most favorable isomers, aC 2v isomer with a dicoordinate oxygen atom, planar six-membered cycle, and one terminal fluorine atom and a pyramidalC 3v isomer with a tricoordinate oxygen atom and three bridging fluorine atoms, are almost degenerate in energy. The barriers to rearrangements with the breaking of one fluorine bridge are no higher than 4 kcal mol−1, except for the pyramidalC 3v isomer (∼16 kcal mol−1). On the contrary, rearrangements with the breaking of the O−Be bond occur with overcoming of a high energy barrier (∼24 kcal mol−1). A planarD 3h isomer with a tricoordinate oxygen atom and linear O−Be−H fragments was found to be the most favorable for the OBe3H3 + cation, a hydride analog of the OBe3F3 + ion; the energies of the remaining five isomers are more than 25 kcal mol−1 higher. Oxidative coupling of racemic 1‐ethoxy‐1‐oxophosphindolin‐3‐one ( 1 ) and its 5‐CF3‐derivative 6 with SeO2 furnishes 1,1′‐diphosphaindigo derivatives 5 and 7 as bis‐phosphinic esters, i. e. as PV‐compounds. Like indigo and thioindigo, 5 and 7 exist in the E‐configuration; the crude products of 5 and 7 are mixtures of isomers that are trans‐ and cis‐configurated with respect to the relative orientation of the ester groups oat phosphorus. The structure of the centrosymmetric E‐P(R)P′(S) isomer [(E)‐trans‐isomer] of 5 was determined by X‐ray crystallography. Ester cleavage of 5 , followed by addition of triethylamine to bis‐phosphinic acid 9 (the 1,1,1′,1′‐tetroxide of “phosphoindigo”), furnishes the related bis‐triethylammonium salt 10 as a crystalline hydrate that exhibits an extended hydrogen bonding network.  相似文献

Aldol‐type reaction between electron deficient aldehydes and sulfonium salts to afford the corresponding β‐hydroxy α‐sulfanyl esters in moderate‐to‐good yields by using nanocrystalline MgO is described. The sulfanyl group is a useful group for further transformations in organic synthesis. Low Rfvalue isomer is anti‐configured as revealed by X‐ray diffraction study and consistent with the assignment of 1H‐NMR spectrum.  相似文献

The four isomeric 3-dimethylamino-trans-2-decalols-1,1,4,4-d4 have been synthesised. Examination of PMR spectra of these compounds allows us to confirm the ‘flattened-chair’ conformation for the cis N(CH3)2a OHe isomer, whereas the remaining three conserve the double chair conformation. The same type of flattening is also observed in the case of the diaxial quaternary ammonium salt and is even more marked in the cis N(CH3)3a OHe isomer resulting in a ‘twist-chair’ conformation.  相似文献

Localized molecular orbitals (LMOs) for several octahedral complexes are presented. Wavefunctions are calculated within the PRDDO approximations and localized by the Boys criterion. Complexes of general formula (NH3)x(CO)6-xM, M = Cr0 or Mn+ and x = 1, 2, or 3 illustrate the general trends for carbonyl complexes. Weak to moderate π-bonding results in three equivalent inner shell LMOs dominantly of metal 3s, 3p and 3d character but highly delocalized to the carbonyls. These three LMOs flank the M-CO bond axis. Other π back-bonding situations result in metal-ligand double bonds which are nonequivalent and have σ-π separability [(NH3)5(py)Mn+] and also equivalent double bonds [(NH3)5(NO)Cr+].  相似文献

Summary The relative stabilities of syn- and anti-isomers of 2-substituted furan and thiophene carbonyl derivatives are investigated by theab initio MO method. The energy differences between the rotamers are 1–3 kcal mol–1 but the barriers to rotation are ca. 10 kcal mol–1 so that free rotational mode is predicted to be a rather difficult process. Application of the self-consistent reaction field (SCRF) method to account for the solvent effect indicates that the isomer with a higher dipole moment (syn) is favored in solution. An electron withdrawing 2-substituent favors syn-isomers for furan carbonyls in contrast to thiophene carbonyls for which anti-isomers are favored. These trends are ascribable to a decrease in electrostatic repulsive and attractive interactions, respectively, in the syn forms of furan and thiophene carbonyls. Contribution of non-bonded repulsive interaction in the anti-isomer is important for the relative stability of the syn-isomer of furan carbonyl derivative. Solvent effects due to higher dielectric continuum are small on the absolute values of energy differences but can reverse the order of stability of the two isomers due to a greater stability acquired by an isomer (syn) with higher dipole moment in solution. The major factor determining stability, or instability, of syn-isomer is a repulsive electrostatic interaction between the two oxygen atoms for furan carbonyls and an attractive electrostatic interaction between the sulfur and oxygen atoms for thiophene carbonyls.  相似文献

The linkage isomerization of [Pt(SCN)2(bipy)] complex in solid‐state was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) at diverse heating rates. The conversion of the bis‐thiocyanato isomer (–SCN)2 to the bis‐isothiocyanato isomer (–NCS)2 was accompanied by the appearance of an exothermic peak. However, no DSC peak was obtained for isomerization of the (–NCS)2. The results imply that the (–SCN)2 isomer is metastable which can convert to the stable isomer (–NCS)2 at elevated temperatures. Assuming a two‐stage irreversible isomerization, the enthalpy changes of the first stage ΔH SCN1 and also second stage ΔH SCN2 isomerization were obtained (–2.99 ± 0.44 and –2.81 ± 0.45 kJ · mol–1, respectively) using the mathematical resolution of the observed DSC peaks. The thermokinetic parameters of this conversion were determined using Kissinger method. The activation energy values for the first and second stages of isomerization are evaluated, 101.78 ± 7.58 and 106.26 ± 5.87 kJ · mol–1, respectively. The low values of the activation enthalpy, ΔH ? and the high negative activation entropy ΔS ?, obtained by Eyring equation, supported an associative mechanism. A DFT study was employed to detect the electronic structures and the thermodynamic stabilities of the three linkage isomers and the transition states.  相似文献

New heteroatom polyoxovanadates (POVs) were synthesized by applying a water‐soluble high‐nuclearity cluster as new synthon. The [V15Sb6O42]6? cluster shell exhibiting D3 symmetry was in situ transformed into completely different cluster shells, namely, the α‐[V14Sb8O42]4? isomer with D2d and the β‐[V14Sb8O42]4? isomer with D2h symmetry. The solvothermal reaction of {Ni(en)3}3[V15Sb6O42(H2O)x] ? 15 H2O (x=0 or 1; en=ethylenediamine) in water led to the crystallization of [{Ni(en)2}2V14Sb8O42] ? 5.5 H2O containing the β‐isomer. The addition of [Ni(phen)3](ClO4)2 ? 0.5 H2O (phen=1,10‐phenanthroline) to the reaction slurry gave the new compound {Ni(phen)3}2[V14Sb8O42] ? phen ? 12 H2O with the α‐isomer. Both transformation reactions are complex due the change of symmetry, the chemical composition, and rearrangement of the VO5 square pyramids and Sb2O5 handle‐like moieties.  相似文献

The role of CH–π and CF–π interactions in determining the structure of N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) palladium complexes were studied using 1H NMR spectroscopy, X‐ray crystallography, and DFT calculations. The CH–π interactions led to the formation of the cisanti isomers in 1‐aryl‐3‐isopropylimidazol‐2‐ylidene‐based [(NHC)2PdX2] complexes, while CF–π interactions led to the exclusive formation of the cis‐syn isomer of diiodobis(3‐isopropyl‐1‐pentafluorophenylimidazol‐2‐ylidene) palladium(II).  相似文献

The title compounds are diastereoisomers with antipodean axial chirality. The M isomer crystallizes as a (1/3) acetone solvate, C32H30NO+·Br?·3C3H6O, while the P isomer crystallizes as a (1/1) di­chloro­methane solvate, C32H30NO+·Br?·CH2Cl2. In each structure, O—H?Br hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions to give ion pairs. The seven‐membered azepinium ring adopts the usual twisted‐boat conformation and its ring strain causes a slight curvature of the plane of each naphthyl ring.  相似文献

The assignments of absorption bands of the vibrational structure of the UV spectrum are compared with the assignments of bands obtained by the CRDS method in a supersonic jet from the time of laser radiation damping for the trans isomer of acrolein in the excited (S 1) electronic state. The ν00trans = 25861 cm−1 values and fundamental frequencies, including torsional vibration frequency, obtained by the two methods were found to coincide in the excited electronic state (S 1) for this isomer. The assignments of several absorption bands of the vibrational structure of the spectrum obtained by the CRDS method were changed. Changes in the assignment of (0-v′) transition bands of the torsional vibration of the trans isomer in the Deslandres table from the ν00trans trans origin allowed the table to be extended to high quantum numbers v′. The torsional vibration frequencies up to v′ = 5 were found to be close to the frequencies found by analyzing the vibrational structure of the UV spectrum and calculated quantum-mechanically. The coincidence of the barrier to internal rotation (the cis-trans transition) in the one-dimensional model with that calculated quantum-mechanically using the two-dimensional model corresponds to a planar structure of the acrolein molecule in the excited (S 1) electronic state.  相似文献

A Novel Example of Reversible Ring Opening: The Epimerization at C(3) of Sugar 3-Hydroxy-Δ1-pyrazolines Reaction of 1 (either geometrical isomer) with hydrazine followed by in situ Ag2O oxidation led to two pairs of interconverting isomers 4 ? 5 and 6 ? 7 . By the same treatment, (Z)- 10 and (or) (E)- 10 gave the pair 11 ? 12 . Acetylation of 4 ? 5 led to a non interconverting mixture of 8 and 9 . This fact, and the lack of incorporation of 18O when the epimerization took place in the presence of H218O indicated that the most probable mechanism consisted in a reversible ring opening ( D ? E ? F ). The kinetic parameters of these reactions are given and structural assignments proposed for the new compounds.  相似文献
