The scattering of a ‘plane wave’ off a submerged body situated in an ocean of finite depth is investigated. The index of refraction is considered to be depth-independent. It is shown that the far field is not unique; hence, the problem of determining the shape of an object from its far field is not well-posed. If solutions are sought among a restricted class of problems the ‘dense set’ property implies that the problem can be made well-posed.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the inverse medium scattering problem in a perturbed, layered, half-space, which is a problem related to the seismologial investigation of inclusions inside the earth’s crust. A wave penetrable object is located in a layer where the refraction index is different from the other part of the half-space. Wave propagation in such a layered half-space is different from that in a homogeneous half-space. In a layered half-space, a scattered wave consists of a free wave and a guided wave. In many cases, only the free-wave far-field or only the guided-wave far-field can be measured.We establish mathematical formulas for relations between the object, the incident wave and the scattered wave. In the ideal condition where exact data are given, we prove the uniqueness of the inverse problem. A numerical example is presented for the reconstruction of a penetrable object from simulated noise data.  相似文献

For the choice of a mathematical model describing randomized decisions it is important to make sure that given a ‘behavioral decision rule’ there exists an equivalent ‘randomized decision function’ (cf. We give a simple proof of an extension of the existence results of Ricci flow of Giesen and Topping (2010, 2011) [15], [20], on incomplete surfaces with bounded above Gauss curvature without using the difficult Shi’s existence theorem of Ricci flow on complete non-compact surfaces and the pseudolocality theorem of Perelman [7] on Ricci flow. We will also give a simple proof of a special case of the existence theorem of Topping (2010) [16] without using the existence theorem of Shi (1989) [9].  相似文献

This paper investigates a class of second-order impulsive differential equations with integral boundary values. By using Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem, the existence of positive solutions for the system is obtained. The results generalize the results in Refs. [11], [12], [13]. Inspired by a recent paper by Deligne [2], we extend the Tannaka-Krein duility results (over a field) to the non-commutative situation. To be precise, we establish a 1-1 corresponde:ice between ‘tensorial autonomous categories’ equipped with a ‘fibre functor’ (i. e. tannakian categories without the commutativity condition on the tensor product), and ‘quantum groupoids’ (as defined by Maltsiniotis, [9]) which are ‘transitive’ (7.1.). When the base field is perfect, a quantum groupoid over Spec B is transitive iff it is projective and faithfully fiat over B? k B. Moreover, the fibre functor is unique up to ‘quantum isomorphism’ (7.6.). Actually, we show Tannaka-Krein duality results in the more general setting where there is no monoidal structure on the category (and the functor); the algebraic object corresponding to such a category is a ‘semi-transitive’ coalgebroid (5.2. and 5.8.).  相似文献

The upper limit and the first gap in the spectrum of genera of -maximal curves are known, see [34], [16], [35]. In this paper we determine the second gap. Both the first and second gaps are approximately constant times , but this does not hold true for the third gap which is just 1 for while (at most) constant times q for This suggests that the problem of determining the third gap which is the object of current work on -maximal curves could be intricate. Here, we investigate a relevant related problem namely that of characterising those -maximal curves whose genus is equal to the third (or possible the forth) largest value in the spectrum. Our results also provide some new evidence on -maximal curves in connection with Castelnuovo's genus bound, Halphen's theorem, and extremal curves. Recently [6] an existence as well as a uniqueness theorem for the discontinuous oblique derivative problem for nonlinear elliptic system of first order in the plane, see [12, 19, 23] was proved, based on some a priori estimate from [20]. This estimate, however, is deduced by reductio ad absurdum. Therefore the constants in this estimate are unknown so that the estimate cannot be used for numerical procedures, e.g. for approximating the solution of a nonlinear problem by solutions of related linear problems, see [24, 3, 4]. In this paper a direct proof of an a priori estimate is given using some variations of results from [14], see also [11], where the constants can explicitely be estimated. For related a priori estimates see [1 – 5, 8, 16, 17, 20, 21, 24 – 26]. A basic reference for the oblique derivative problem is [9].  相似文献

在拓扑向量空间中,利用Ky Fan截口定理得到一个锥凸向量拟均衡问题弱Pareto解的存在性结果.作为该结果的应用,得到了一个对称向量拟均衡问题在支付映射为锥凸条件下弱Pareto解的存在性定理.该定理在较弱的条件下回答了Fu在文献[1]中提出的第二个问题,即在支付映射为锥凸且连续的条件下对称向量拟均衡问题的弱Pareto解是否存在.最后在赋范线性空间中研究了锥凸对称向量拟均衡问题弱Pareto解集的通有稳定性.  相似文献

A mixed problem imitating the Cauchy problem is considered. This problem is also a mixed problem with perfectly absorbing boundary conditions. A theorem about the form of the problem imitating the Cauchy problem for a scalar operator was given in [3]. It is shown how a set of canonical variables in the sense of Rund [5] can be associated with a given extremal of a multiple integral variational problem in a simple, direct manner. The definition of these variables in a previous paper [1], which is concerned with the problem of imbedding a given extremal in anr-geodesic field, is thereby clarified and abbreviated considerably. A theorem due essentially to Boerner, which is crucial to the imbedding theorem given in [1], is proved more easily and under less restrictive hypotheses than in [1]. Furthermore, it is shown how the present definition of the canonical variables allows one to eliminate from the geodesic field theory of Carathéodory the restriction that the Lagrangian be non-vanishing along the extremal.  相似文献

This paper considers an asset-liability management (ALM) problem under a continuous-time Markov regime-switching model. By adopting the techniques of [Zhou, X.Y., Yin, G., 2003. Markowitz’s mean-variance portfolio selection with regime switching: A continuous-time model. SIAM J. In this paper, we develop the approach and techniques of [Boucherif A., Precup R., Semilinear evolution equations with nonlocal initial conditions, Dynam. Systems Appl., 2007, 16(3), 507–516], [Zhou Y., Jiao F., Nonlocal Cauchy problem for fractional evolution equations, Nonlinar Anal. Real World Appl., 2010, 11(5), 4465–4475] to deal with nonlocal Cauchy problem for semilinear fractional order evolution equations. We present two new sufficient conditions on existence of mild solutions. The first result relies on a growth condition on the whole time interval via Schaefer fixed point theorem. The second result relies on a growth condition splitted into two parts, one for the subinterval containing the points associated with the nonlocal conditions, and the other for the rest of the interval via O’Regan fixed point theorem.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper, using the idea of intuitionistic fuzzy set due to Atanassov [2], we define the notion of intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces (see, [1]) due to Kramosil and Michalek [17] and Jungck’s common fixed point theorem ([11]) is generalized to intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces. Further, we first formulate the definition of weakly commuting and R-weakly commuting mappings in intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces and prove the intuitionistic fuzzy version of Pant’s theorem ([21]).  相似文献

We prove the following theorem: A polyhedral embedding of a 2-dimensional cell complex in S3 is determined up to ambient isotopy rel the 1-skeleton by the embedding of the 1-skeleton, provided the cell complex is ‘proper’ and ‘fine enough’. Applications of the theorem are given in distinguishing certain graphs in S3 from their mirror images. (This is of interest to chemists studying stereoisomerism.) Examples are given to illustrate that the theorem can fail without either hypothesis ‘proper’ or ‘fine enough’. The main theorem may be generalized by replacing S3 by an irreducible 3-manifold with nonempty boundary.  相似文献

This paper studies the dynamics of a class of retarded impulsive differential equations (IDE), which generalizes the delayed cellular neural networks (DCNN), delayed bidirectional associative memory (BAM) neural networks and some population growth models. Some sufficient criteria are obtained for the existence and global exponential stability of a unique equilibrium. When the impulsive jumps are absent, our results reduce to its corresponding results for the non-impulsive systems. The approaches are based on Banach’s fixed point theorem, matrix theory and its spectral theory. Due to this method, our results generalize and improve many previous known results such as [3], [5], [6], [9], [17], [18], [23], [32], [38], [43], [51], [52]. Some examples are also included to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the results obtained.  相似文献

研究了用声传播远场分布信息来成像海洋波导环境中三维可穿透目标的反问题.建立了求解这类反问题的远场方程,基于内透射边界值问题的分析,讨论了远场方程解的唯一性和可解性,证明了总能找到远场方程的一个在最小平方意义下的近似解,其模在可穿透目标内部的取值是小的,而在外部的取值是大的,进而发展了一种快速成像可穿透目标的一种指示器样本方法.数值试验表明了这种方法是有效的,即使在有限孔径测量方式的情况,也能够得到未知目标的一个理想成像,而且不需要先验知道可穿透目标的任何几何与物理信息.  相似文献

We apply Zdun’s factorization theorem (see Zdun (2008) [3]) to give the conditions for the existence and the form of continuous and orientation-preserving iterative roots of homeomorphisms of the circle with a rational rotation number. Our theorem generalizes the previous results given by Jarczyk (2003) in [2], Zdun (2008) in [3] and Solarz (2003, 2009) in [4] and [5].  相似文献
