Sesquiterpene lactones ofFerula olgae

Summary 1. Six sesquiterpene lactones have been isolated fromFerula olgae Regel et Schmalh. Three of them have been identified with talassins A and B and 4-acetoxypruteninone, which have been described previously.2. The structure of olgoferin has been confirmed by chemical reactions, and the structures previously proposed for olgin, 4-acetoxypruteninone, and talassin B have been reconsidered.All-Union Scientific-Research Institute of Medicinal Plants. Sesquiterpene derivatives of the genusFerula

The review is devoted to a study of the sequiterpene derivatives of the plants of the genusFerula (Apiaceae). Information is given on the determination of the structure, stereochemistry, and characteristic reactions of 78 coumarins, 39 esters, and six sesquiterpene alcohols isolated from plants of the genusFerula. The possible biogenetic interrelationships and mutual transitions of the sesquiterpenes that are derivatives of aliphatic and of mono- and bicyclic hydrocarbons are discussed. Some information confirming the hypotheses made is given.     

Sesquiterpene lactones ofLigularia macrophylla andL. thomsonii

Summary From the roots ofLigularia macrophylla D. C. Prodr. we have isolated a new sesquiterpene lactone ligolide with the composition C₁₆H₂₂O₄, for which the structure of 10-hydroxy-6-methoxyeremophilan-7-olide is proposed. From the same plant and fromL. thomsonii (Clark) Pojark. we have isolated and identified furoeremophilan-14, 6-olide, -sitosterol, and hydrocarbons with the compositions C₁₁H₁₈ and C₁₁H₃₆.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, Tashkent. Chrysin and its derivatives in plants of the genusScutellaria

Summary 1. A glycoside (II) identified by chrysin 7--glucopyranosiduronic acid has been isolated from the epigeal part ofScutellaria scordiifolia in a yield of 2.0–2.2%.2. A glycoside (IV), characterized as 2-methoxychrysin 7--D-glucopyranosiduronic acid has been isolated from the roots ofS. granulosa.3. Sesquiterpene lactones fromArtemisia taurica

Conclusions The mother liquor fromArtemisia taurica Willd., after the isolation of tauremisin and mibulactone, has yielded by fractional chromatography a new sesquiterpene lactone-taurin, C₁₅H₂₀O₃, with mp 118–119° C (from ethanol), [] _D ¹⁹ -120° (c 5.0; ethanol). Anthranilic acid derivatives from Inula japonica

Three new anthranilic acid derivatives, N-heneicosanoylanthranilic acid （1b）, N-tricosanoylanthranilic acid （1d）, N-tetracosanoylanthranilic acid （1e）, and two known N-arachidylanthranilic acid （1a） and N-docosanoylanthranilic acid （1c） were isolated from the aerial parts of lnula japonica Thunb. Their structures were established by spectroscopic and chemical methods.     

Mass-spectrometric analysis of phytol derivatives from the leaves ofPlatanus orientalis
