Summary 1. Six sesquiterpene lactones have been isolated fromFerula olgae Regel et Schmalh. Three of them have been identified with talassins A and B and 4-acetoxypruteninone, which have been described previously.2. The review is devoted to a study of the sequiterpene derivatives of the plants of the genusFerula (Apiaceae). Information is given on the determination of the structure, stereochemistry, and characteristic reactions of 78 coumarins, 39 esters, and six sesquiterpene alcohols isolated from plants of the genusFerula. The possible biogenetic interrelationships and mutual transitions of the sesquiterpenes that are derivatives of aliphatic and of mono- and bicyclic hydrocarbons are discussed. Some information confirming the hypotheses made is given.  相似文献

Prodr. we have isolated a new sesquiterpene lactone ligolide with the composition C16H22O4, for which the structure of 10-hydroxy-6-methoxyeremophilan-7-olide is proposed.
